Is it weird that I’m in a band with my brothers? Not to me.Getting our big break is supposed to be fun and make all the years of being cramped in a van with four older brothers worth it and part of it is.The other part… they don’t even want me to know about. It’s not until I’m moved off our bus and onto the bus belonging to the hot manager of the headlining band that I know something’s wrong. But I’m not complaining.Lawson is willing to take me on so some crazy fan can’t get to me but when things heat up… he backs off. Says he’s too old for me.It’s a small age gap. It doesn’t mean a thing. When that crazy fan gets close enough to touch me… there’s no hiding anymore.Daisy is a small age-gap, forbidden, rock star romance with heat. If you enjoy sexy heroes and snarky heroines, the first book in the Pushing Daisies series is for you.
Heather Young-Nichols is a USA Today Bestselling author of contemporary and paranormal romances. She writes swoony heroes and snarly heroines with a heap of romance.

his book in the Courting Chaos series focused on manager Lawson Styles and his insta-attraction to Pushing Daisies' Daisy Thompson, the 5-foot-nothing, little red-headed baby sister to her brothers Mack, Van, Daltry, and Bonham. The book gives you a little glimpse of Barrett, Lawson's assistant and girlfriend to Dixon, and the other Courting Chaos guys. Lawson, who never is known for having a steady girlfriend or significant other throughout the series, isn't someone you'd think would be all in with any young woman, but Daisy Thompson, with her magical violin skills and voice of a naughty angel, takes him to places he'd never been, and when a crazy fan stalker is after Daisy, a raging protectiveness bubbles up within Lawson he didn't know existed. In the meantime, Daisy embraces everything about Lawson without needing to know anything about his past, while trying to shield their budding relationship from her overprotective brothers. The book ended very abruptly, so I can only assume that another installment of the series is in the works with more about Lawson and Daisy's relationship. I received an ARC of this book for my honest review. I truly enjoy reading the series with all of the Courting Chaos and Pushing Daisies band members, managers, personal assistants, and girlfriends.
Really bad. Not hot or erotic. You get the feeling the author knew the story she wanted to tell but didn’t frame the plot or character interactions to let the story unfold for the reader. She described what was happening instead of the reader living through description and dialog. Not my favorite writing style.
Daisy is the lead singer for Pushing Daisies. The rest of the band and the manager are her brothers. Pushing Daisies are on tour with Courting Chaos. When Daisy finds herself with the unwanted attention of rabid fans the manager for Courting Chaos, Lawson, makes it his responsibility to make sure she is protected. It has nothing to do with their mutual attraction. Nothing to do with their off the wall chemistry. No it is just Daisy's safety. Or at least that is what they are telling her brother's at first.
This was a quick, easy, fun and hot read. I loved it. It was very obvious that I was walking into a world that I knew nothing about (it was clear that Courting Chaos had a series before this) but I didn't feel like I was missing out. I loved Daisy and Lawson. They were both super sweet, fun and fire. I loved their journey and cannot wait to see the rest of the band/brothers get their story.
I love age gap/forbidden romance so this is perfect for me. Throw in rockstar romance and it’s the perfect combination. Daisy is spunky and fun. Lawson is more steady, the epitome of all about business. They have an instant attraction, but there’s the age difference, business ties, her brothers in her band, etc.. When there’s a possible threat to Daisy, Lawson steps up and in to protect and more. I love that he’s so protective and that it’s his excuse to be around her. It’s the perfect cover. I like all the characters, I look forward to more in this series.
This is a spin off of Courting Chaos , this is Daisy and Lawson's story. The author brings a cast of strong characters and weaves an action packed story filled with drama ,danger ,mystery and romance. She paints her scenes perfectly ,moving the story fluidly and delivers a great read. I'm looking forward to the next book!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I wanted to really love this book but I couldn’t even like it. There are so many spelling, grammatical and unfinished sentences plus everything is uneventful, the author starts down a path but then doesn’t explore it there’s no development like has Daisy can hear a song or melody and play most mainstream instruments by ear but we never get to experience it which is a shame because being with two bands on tour is the perfect time to implement a few scenes. And we never get to hear Ransom and Daisy sing their duet or even practice the song again a missed opportunity. I’m all for insta-love when it’s written well as it can be intense and the couple has explosive chemistry but Daisy and Lawson have ZERO chemistry which meant I had no emotional connection to these characters. I won’t be continuing with this series.
This was one of those books that would have greatly benefited from a professional editor. The story had a good premise and likeable characters, but they all got lost in a sea of poorly worded paragraphs. The author also seems to be obsessed with people "wetting their lips", because that statement shows up a lot in this book. 2 stars, because the book held my attention enough to finish it, but I can't see me reading any others in the series.
This story is about a family band getting their big break, opening for one of the hottest bands out there. They were going to be the opening act for Courting Chaos on their tour. Unfortunately, the band they were to replace was in a terrible accident and couldn't make it. Now they needed to keep it together and act professionally, their eldest brother and manager Mack reminded them. He knew all his brothers him included liked to mess around and talk smack. However, he knew for sure his little sister Daisy and their lead singer were fangirling right about now. She took offense to his comment and told him so. Saying out of all of them, she was the one with the most decorum. Not to mention, the fact that they were all still in their car, so she could fangirl all she wanted. They were met at the car by Barrett, the Personal Assistant to Lawson Styles the manager of Courting Chaos. Also, the man responsible for giving them their big break and they were all grateful to him. As much as Daisy was a fangirl for the band it was all in admiration for their talent because as men she knew they were all taken. But, it wasn't them she had her eyes on, nope. It was the man in charge, Larson. She knew better than to let her brothers catch on, there would only be misery. Not only for her but for him. She would be in for endless lectures about how he was too old for her, and how he would only want one thing. Not only that, the endless teasing and then more lectures from her brothers. For him, even if nothing had even remotely happened with the two of them, the brothers would all threaten him together and then individually. This is for something she had been thinking about, not acted on. Only thoughts about how sexy Lawson was. Yet, the whole time, on their tour bus back home she was subjected to so much worse. As time progressed, Lawson and Daisy came together. The first was over, needing a dentist. And then, it was all about taking down the stalker after her. The more they talked, the closer they got. See the budding romance flourish, and the battle of the brothers to defend their sister, and, if they take it too far. All the while forgetting she is over twenty-one. A grown woman who can make her own decisions. But, what they don’t expect is, unlike all the BOYS back home, they couldn’t intimidate Lawson. You see, he is a MAN and he could not be scared off easily. Don’t let his dress pants and dress shirt fool you. He is solid muscle built like a tree. But, it doesn't mean Van, one of Daisy’s twin brothers, wasn’t going to try his patient. Especially, when he finds out Lawson has a little sister, too. Setting up for the next book of Van and Lexi. I can’t wait...
Daisy Thompson is unlike any other woman Lawson has ever met, she is a five foot red-haired temptress with a heart of gold. Every night she amazes him with her musical talents on the stage, and slowly sings her way into his closed-off heart. But she is also the one woman he cannot have...
Daisy's fans love her, and one in particular has takin' to loving her a little too much. His obsession with her is growing by the minute... and scaring the normally unshakable singer. Lawson vows to never let anything happen to her... even if it means crossing lines to keep her safe!
Between the pages of this one we meet a young twenty-something that has just landed the opportunity of a lifetime, to open for one the biggest bands in the country. It's something her and her brother's have been dreaming of since they first started their band. With all this new notoriety they have gained lots of new fans and one in particular wants to claim Daisy's undivided attention, and he goes to great lengths to get it. With the red-haired songstress in danger everyone around her is on high alert, and even with all their protection, she still feels unsafe, so she turns to Lawson. She knows he has already told her that he isn't the right guy for her, but she has a hard time believing that. She is determined to change his mind... even if it means manipulating the situation she is in.
From the very first page this one captured my attention, it's wonderfully drawn characters wandered before me and instantly drew me in, and I just had to know everything about them! The story they had to tell brought smiles, swoons, and left my heart happy... it was such an enjoyable journey!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
If Rockstar Romance is one of your favorite, I recommend you this Pushing Daisies series because it's very good written and easy reading. The series is about a band which all members are siblings. The first book is about Daisy, the youngest and only one woman of the group. The author matches her with a manager of another band which has a series as well and creates this series as a spin-off. I usually avoid reading Rockstar Romance because most authors write them as a womanizer but not in this book. It's not because Daisy is a woman and all of them are saint but the author focuses on how Daisy and Lawson's relationship developed and it hooks me up through the book. The story is in a perfect pace also. Lawson is an alpha and his protectiveness is hot. Daisy and her siblings are lovely and their banters create a few funny moments. And as I said before, the story is easy reading with everything is in a perfect amount. Everything seems real and reasonable to me with no heavy drama and aggressive. But I disagree with Daisy's brothers about Lawson's age though, LOL. If you are my age, 6 years older is not a problem or considering as an age-gap between Lawson and Daisy at all. I know that 21 seems young but Daisy is mature and I think she handles herself well enough to know what and who she wants. So yeah, I am #TeamLawson!
It would be nice if GR had 1/2 stars because I liked this book well enough but not enough to give it a 4, so 3 1/2 stars it is. I liked the main characters, Daisy and Lawson, and the story, but it needed to be edited and was missing some story points.
Daisy and her band end up touring in support of the band that Lawson manages. All of that band, Courting Chaos, already had their series, so this is the beginning of the spin off. The names of the characters in this book, and the major issue from the previous books, are really stupid.
I liked Daisy and am glad she was paired off with Lawson, but there was a "serious" stalker issue that is kind of glossed over except to have her need a bodyguard at all times. Also, she didn't want to tell her brothers about her relationship with Lawson because they're so controlling over her life.
I wasn't really interested in reading the rest of this or the previous series, but the next one is Lawson's sister so that sounded interesting, and the last book is Daisy's oldest brother and I'd like to see his book since he's required to be the adult as the oldest kid. I'll put them on my list, but I don't know that I'll get to reading them.
Daisy is a character you can’t help but love, as evidenced by the way the crowd responds to her when she’s on stage. We already met Lawson if you read the Courting Chaos books, but he’s a great guy.
The story will focus on how Daisy feels about Lawson and figures she stands no chance with him. He is older than she is, which makes him reluctant to approach her. Daisy and the band are opening for Courting Chaos when a friend of a friend of Lawson recommends them for a last-minute change. Having Daisy, a female lead, was a lucky draw. Daisy draws the crowd in easily, as if her sweet personality radiates out. But when Lawson finds out they have been getting disturbing messages involving Daisy, Lawson’s protective mode comes out in full force. Nothing will get past him to hurt the young woman he is having feelings for! Can he protect her? Will they find out where the danger is coming from?
You will enjoy this well-written story with fantastic characters you can immediately love! The author is really good at bringing the characters to life and allowing the reader to join in with the suspenseful story line. Grab your copy and don’t miss out on Lawson and Daisy’s story!
Squee! We’re not completely finished with the characters I fell in love with from Courting Chaos. Now they’re the supporting cast for Lawson’s story. (And they may be filling out the background of the rest of the Pushing Daisies books to come.) I loved Daisy. She’s spunky and feisty because she’s had to fight hard to be seen as anything other than “the little sister”. I’ve pretty much adored Lawson since he first stalked onto the page. There has always been something about the enigmatic manager of Courting Chaos that intrigued me, made me desperate to want to know more. I thought these two were just about perfect together. Daisy has a sense of fun about her that lightens Lawson’s all-work vibe, and Lawson is able to ‘ground’ the talented prodigy without clipping her wings. In some ways, I thought the drama wrapped up a little too easily, but I’ve probably just been reading too much romantic suspense of late. And, the ending was bit abrupt for my tastes. However, there’s lots of story left to tell with the four of Daisy’s brothers to go. Now, I can’t wait to read what happens next. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
Pushing Daisies are on tour with Courting chaos who is one of Daisy’s favourite bands. The band consisting of Daisy and her brothers can’t believe they were chosen for this tour. After several shows their website starts to get creepy messages meant for Daisy, immediately Mack her eldest brother and manager talks to Lawson about stepping up security. Lawson has had the hots for Daisy since she arrived on tour and instinctively wants to protect her. Her brothers haven’t told her about the threats on the website so she continues pushing her independence until she heads to her tour bus and finds a stranger waiting for her. She manages to get away from him and agrees that maybe she does need security now. Daisy has also had a crush on Lawson since they met and when it is suggested she stays on his bus she agrees. Being in a confined space with him however means she can’t keep her hands off and takes the next step. Knowing how protective her brothers are she gets Lawson to agrees to keep the secret as she thinks it would be better coming from her. I loved this book. Everyone there becomes one big family and you can’t help but love them all.
This is the first book in a new series and what a great beginning to a new series this story is! Daisy is the leads singer for “PusThis is the first book in a new series and what a great beginning to a new series this story is! Daisy is the leads singer for “Pushing Daisies”, and her fellow band members consist of her overprotective bothers, and they are thrilled to be given the opportunity as the starting act for “Counting Chaos”. Lawson is the manager for “Courting Chaos”, and he is instantly drawn to Daisy, but he is adamant that she is too young for him. When Daisy finds herself with a stalker Lawson is determined to protect and keep her safe. This is a well written quick read which is fun, and filled with drama, danger, mystery, suspense, romance, emotions, and love, which leads to an addictive page turner. I look forward to reading the next book in this fascinating series, and I recommend this talented authors’ work.
I am a big fan of Courting Chaos and their manager Lawson so I was very happy to see that he was getting his own story and that we got to see the boys again.
Courting Chaos opening band's members have an accident so they have to cancel. A friend of Lawson's calls him to let him know he has a band that could take the spot - Pushing Daisies. It works out and Lawson gets mesmerized by their lead singer Daisy. After that, it's a roller coaster of emotions, dealing with a crazy stalker and 4 overprotective brothers. Standalone book, interconnected to Courting Chaos series which is one of my favorites.
I must say that were a LOT of typos which sometimes took away from the story because the word was totally different from what it had to be. Still, I really enjoyed it. :)
YES!!!!! A new series by Heather Young-Nichols and it's a spin-off of Courting Chaos! I had the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review although I would gladly pay full price for books by this author. Her writing is fantastic and the characters / story lines are entertaining and not the same story re-written a million other times. I actually cheered out loud when I started reading and the main character was Lawson. He is one of my favorites and I was thrilled to read his story. I can't wait until the next book comes out to continue on this new series! If you are new to this author - go back and read the Courting Chaos series so you will be in on all the backstories. They are great anyways, so you'll want to add them to your collection. Happy reading...enjoy!
Pushing Daisies is joining Courting Chaos on tour and Daisy is their lead singer. The publicity for them is great and it gains them some new fans. However it also gets Daisy some unwanted attention. Her brothers try to shield her from what is happening to protect her while they continue to tour. Daisy and Lawson continue to grow closer during the tour. When she is almost attacked on the bus she shares with her brothers everyone knows she can't stay on it. So she ends up sharing Lawson's bus with him. What will her brother do when they learn about them being together? Will it effect the tour?
This is an amazing story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

In a spin off of Courting Chaos, Pushing Daisies Is hired as Courting Chaos’s opening band. This new series starts with Cahos’s manager, Lawson and Daisies lead singer, a Daisy’s attraction to each other. Daisy is the youngest and only girl of the siblings that make up Pushing Daisies. She has a take no crap attitude after growing up in this family. Lawson is 6 years older than Daisy and thinks he’s too old but can’t stay away from her. There’s danger in the form of a stalker and drama when Daisy’s brothers find out about the relationship. I love how all the characters from Chaos are a part of this. Now we will see if Lawson’s younger sister becomes part of the story next since she’s mentioned in this book. After all the rest of the band needs their hea(s).

A new series still following the guys of Courting Chaos but it's their opening act that is creating waves. Daisy and her brothers get the chance to open for one of their favourite bands that could change their lives. It does, just not in some of the ways they expected. A secret yet immediate attraction between her and the other group's manager Lawson find them hiding it from her overprotective brothers while a dealing with a secret stalker. If you're familiair with the previous books you'll enjoy catching up with the band and their girlfriends but don't worry if you haven't as it's not like you wouldn't be able to follow. I'm hoping we will see her brothers get hooked in the future, just saying. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Daisy was a great first book in the series Pushing Daisies by Heather Young-Nichols. I love rock star romance and this definitely did not disappoint. Lawson and Daisy were simply amazing together. When Courting Chaos needs a new opening band, Pushing Daisies is offered the job. Pushing Daisies is a band of brothers with their sister Daisy as the lead singer. As manager for Courting Chaos, Lawson doesn't have time for a relationship but he is drawn to Daisy. Hiding their affair from her overprotective brothers is not easy and Daisy knows they will try to convince her its a mistake. If that's not enough, Daisy has an obsessed fan threatening her. I cannot wait for the next book. Hopefully we get Lawton's sister Lexi's story soon.
An interesting story, moderately steamy romance, and likable characters make this an enjoyable read. Daisy and her brothers make up the members of the band called Pushing Daisies and they are all excited to be going on tour as the opening act for Courting Chaos. A stalker and over protective older brothers add a bit of drama to the mix but mostly this is an evenly keeled story of the budding romance between 21 year old Daisy and Courting Chaos's 27 year old manager, Lawson. The writing is good and I am definitely down for reading the next book of the series, as well as the entire Courting Chaos series.

It is not every day that you have a rock band with a violinist but I love it. Daisy is part of Pushing Daisies band. They get their big break Daisy and her brothers to tour with the band Courting Chaos. That is when Lawson the manager falls for Daisy. There is an instant attraction and the chemistry is there. Daisy hides her relationship from her brothers who are in the band. There is a situation that brings Lawson and his protective nature to the forefront. This is a wonderful story and the characters are wonderful and the story flows. I want more so I am hoping I will get them in the second book. Great book.

I loved this story. Daisy is a very interesting and adorable character, and we already know Lawson from the Courting Chaos books. Daisy and her four brothers are in the band Pushing Daisies, which is hired as Courting Chaos’s opening band. The attraction between Daisy and Lawson is immediate, but due to the age difference between them, she believes she has no chance with him. And Lawson thinks he's too old for her, but he can't stay away. But when a threat in the form of disturbing messages involving Daisy arises, Lawson becomes totally protective and he will do anything to protect the woman he loves. I loved the story and I'm already looking forward to reading about Daisy's other brothers. I highly recommend the reading.
Daisy is the lead singer for “Pushing Daisies”, and her fellow band members are her über-protective brothers, who are totally stoked to be the opening act for “Counting Chaos”, who is managed by Lawson is immediately smitten with Daisy, but he's all, “She's too young for me. When Daisy gets a stalker, Lawson goes all alpha male and decides to protect her. This book is a hot mess express, full of drama, danger, mystery, suspense, romance, and love - it's like a train wreck that you can't look away from, and honestly, who doesn't love a good train wreck? I'm totally hooked and can't wait to read the next book in this crazy series, and I'm telling everyone to check out this author's work, stat!
This is Book 1 in the Pushing Daisies Series by this author. It is a heartfelt rockstar romance between singer Daisy and band manager Lawson. These characters are very different but likable, the connection strong, the chemistry combustible, and the unique plot makes for an enjoyable read. It is a captivating story with sizzling attraction and frustrating moments, with a touch of suspense. Overall, it has a healthy dose of sexual tension and chemistry, drama and passion, engaging secondary characters, and a happy ending.

I loved that this new series is a spin off of the Courting Chaos series. If you haven't read that series I definitely recommend you do it's a great series. In this book we get Daisy and Lawson's story. Daisy and her brothers are the band Pushing Daisies and Lawson is the manager of Courting Chaos. When the band starts getting disturbing messages involving Daisy Lawson goes into protective mode. This is a great start to the Pushing Daisies series and I'm hoping Daisy's brothers get their books too. The writing is well done, the characters are likable and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This is my absolute favourite genre rockstars, bands etc and this is the story of Daisy from the band Pushing Daisies they are the opening act for Courting Chaos Daisy is excited she’s a big fan of that band. Daisy is the lead singer and her brothers make up the rest of the band, even though the band members of Courting Chaos are all gorgeous they have girlfriends but their manager Lawson is more than gorgeous he’s sexy and Daisy can’t take her eyes off him and from where Daisy can see Lawson is watching her too. Sorry guys I’m not going to get too much into this story but I loved Daisy’s and Lawson’s story it’s a fantastic read and I highly recommend this book.
Daisy is the lead singer of the band and the other members of the band are her brothers. She’s also a prodigy because the girl can play almost every instrument. When she meets Lawson she can’t take her eyes off him, he’s the twenty-seven year old manager of the main band Courting Chaos. She stirs feeling in him that he shouldn’t feel for this twenty-one year old, but he knows to keep away. Well good luck with that. This book has elements that I love. Sexy gorgeous rockstars- yes Romance- yes Crazy stalker- yes A secret romance & overprotective brothers- you bet! Add to all that a great ending and you know I had to give it five stars. This book was awesome and I highly recommend it.
