Eine interessante Welt mit vielen Fragen über das menschlich sein, Moralität, Umstände von menschlichen Kulturen und noch viel mehr. Vor allem in brutalen Zeiten, in denen sich die schlimmsten Seiten der Menschheit sich schneller zeigen und wo vielen ihre Menschlichkeit geraubt wird.
Auf jeden Fall auch extrem brutal, dunkel und deshalb nicht unbedingt was für jeden.

i don't understand all the people that say that fire punch is better than chainsaw man bc NO..
i enjoyed reading it but it got kind of dull in the last volumes, and i'm not sure i liked the ending,,
also the incest almost kind of ruined everything for me lol

"Under the infinite dance of the Sun and Moon
Do not set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm.
You might lose who you are during the process, resorting to acting on a character (chosen or given) to give your life a resemble of meaning."
Just some thoughts and feelings this reading brought up, not really a summary or review:
The crude nature of the world immediately capture the reader or sway them away.
The story, as it progresses, keeps getting closer on the characters but immediately shy away from them, to go and look at a "bigger picture", just like a child getting a hand closer to the fireplace and run away as they get burn. To which a possible lesson, or catharsis, that both the character and the reader, and that child, might experience.
This might be frustating from a reader, but I liked to see that as (in)finite cycle, just like the moon and the sun fall and set, destruction and rebirth, and each day a new lesson (re)learned.
A constant parallelism:
Same/different mistakes, same violent necessary and unnecessary method to survive, same adoration of the same/different Man-made God (to which, aren't they all?, pops as an obvious question) created by "both" the parts of this "never-ending war"; the struggle to survive and to understand who I am.
A constant foreshadowing:
casted by fire and a promise of vengeance, on the ultimate destiny of the characters.
A lot of symbolism can be found;
to which a lot I might have not even seen or comprehended, but I would like to bask under the concept of the moon and lying.
The Moon does not have a light. The shine of the Moon is just that of the Sun. We can almost say the Moon is just what the Sun tells her to be. What the Sun wants and perceive her to be. But the Moon has a dark side, "a dark past", one never showed.
A person is what the others perceive them to be, and they are called on stage to act on what the others believe they are, and accept it, embrace it, or leave them dissapointed, if not betrayed.
So we lie to them and to ourself, accept or deny what the other is, based on what we see, perceive or wish the other is.

Once again people have hyped up a story as being oh so disturbing and disgusting just to leave me slightly disappointed. (Look, if you wanna disturb me, you have to offer more than some pseudo-incest and a bit of consensual cannibalism.) Fujimoto's strength at using the visual medium for storytelling is already at display here, though, and the emotional journey is worth it, even if I'm a bit unsure what to think about the ending.

Tuve que darme una pausa de leer esta historia. Es una historia graficacamente horrible, es muy difícil ir leyendo esto por el nivel de britalidad y violencia que ie contiene la historia. Es sorprendente lo tabus que pueden ser ciertos temas dentro de la historia. Genocidio, canibalismo, asesinatos, vioaciones, descuartizaciones, es a veces simplemente demasiado, no es para todos. Y no por eso deja de ser una historia genial. Las referencias al cine a otras historias, y al contenido audiovisual es una característica de Fujimoto en sus obras y da gusto participar en ellas.
Algo que me gusta mucho de Fujimoto es que sus historias no son siempre lo que se nos muestra, siempre nos cuenta algo más profundo y penetrante en sus desarrollos. La idea de un fuego inextinguible en un cuerpo en regeneración perpetua, una suerte de homeostasis que deja solo el sufrimiento eterno en Agni es desgarrador de por si. Un objeto inamovible contra un objeto imparable. Y el ultimo deseo de su hermana hacia Agni antes de morir es “VIVE!”. Pffff que potencia. Y es con este mensaje que Agni hace sentido a su sufrimiento y decide buscar venganza a su pueblo y a su hermana.
La historia es confusa, es dura, muy difícil. La pregunta es: “Todo este sufrimiento, toda esta vida que hay que confrontar, ¿tiene sentido? ¿Todo este sufrimiento tiene sentido? ¿Para que seguir viviendo? Y cada vez que Agni está por darse por vencido incluso frente al mismisimo abismo alguien sale de este mundo demencial a gritarle: “Agni, Vive!!” Es absurdo. El mundo duele y el sufrimiento no parece tener fin. ¿Para que seguir viviendo cuando el mundo parece buscar destruirte pero sin poder morir? Es increíble cuando Agni se enfrenta con el absurdo, cuando el vacío es tal que su identidad se quiebra, su espíritu, su mente todo en el se quiebra y la unica desicion que no se le permite tomar es la de morir por más que lo intente.
Esta es una historia muy fuerte, habla de la identidad, del amor, del sufrimiento, de la ilusión, de los falsos profetas, de la manipulación de ideas y sobre todo acerca de a qué cosas nos aferramos para continuar a pesar de todo. Porque en un mundo tan brutal la opción más facil es simplemente morir. Pero para los que acompañamos a Agni, solo nos queda continuar a pesar de todo. Y Fujimoto como en todas sus historias y de la manera mas brutal nos grita: “¡VIVE!”

Sin duda me ha parecido una gran historia! Llena de simbolismos religiosos, una crítica a nuestra irresponsabilidad con el planeta y un mensaje sobre el valor que tiene la educación para la humanidad.
Fire Punch nos trae la historia de un héroe vengador, Agni, pero a medida que iba leyéndola me ponía a pensar si lo que estaba leyendo era en realidad la historia de origen de un villano. Ya que conocemos la historia desde la perspectiva de Agni, asique es natural que pensemos que él es el héroe.
Si bien tiene inconsistencias narrativas, no sentí que afectara mi disfrute de la obra. En realidad, me entretuvo bastante.
También pienso que para saber si los temas que trata la obra son bien llevados o no, no lo compararía con la forma en que lo hacen otros cómics o mangas. Sino que me pondría a pensar si la obra independientemente de otras lo hace bien y creo si lo hizo. Ya que me puso a reflexionar sobre ellos.
Agni no sabe quien es por si mismo o quien quiere ser, mucho menos que razón tiene para vivir. Todo eso lo decide alguien más por él. Por lo menos hasta el final.
Los motivos de Togata y la bruja de hielo para hacer lo que hacen no está mal. Todo es por amor al cine y eso suena muy poco convecible, pero siento que nos sirve para demostrar la mentalidad de cada uno y en más dentro del contexto que rodea la historia: una páramo congelado en el que no se puede hacer mucho más allá de preocuparse por sobrevivir al frío y al hambre. No quisiera vivir en un mundo donde no tengo nada de que lo disfruto (como libros, manga o series) y no se que estaría dispuesta a hacer para recuperar todo eso que me hace feliz y entretiene.
Por último, no fue una historia con la que pudiera conectar emocionalmente. Mucho menos con sus personajes, pero todos me parecieron excelentemente escritos. Creo que Douma, Togata (mis dos únicos favoritos), Sun y Judah representan excelentemente lo que el autor quiere expresar en su obra.

January 16, 2023(Realized while reading this that while it makes a lot of sense to log any manga I read on here it makes no sense to have it count towards my books in a year goal so I'm gonna have to keep increasing my goal if I read manga to have it match up with the actual number of books I read, but anyway)
I read this whole thing in one day and it impressed. Hard for a story to take this many hard turns and work the whole way (even if the very ending isn't that great). After the major finale in the middle of the series I was worried where it would go but the continuation justified itself. Good stuff on the cycles of hatred/violence and the fickleness of identity and the power of film. Love Togata and really really love the big fight scene where Fujimoto ups the pacing like a madman and starts introducing new exciting characters every chapter.

half baked, but good concept, end was bad I mean very bad, writer had the chance to explore this universe but choose not to, I think he himself was confused about where this would let to, ended up creating a pretentious ending which didn't explain anything.

看完這部漫畫後，還真的被藤本樹圈粉了。並非完全看懂了他的漫畫，而是他的漫畫有種莫名奇妙讓人想看下去亦不覺沉悶的東西，抓住的是一種吉光片羽般的體驗，裡頭混雜了對生命倫理道德宗教世界等等課題的思考與探討。
相較起《鏈鋸人》，這部漫畫口味更重，也不比前者討喜，但還是很喜歡的~~~

Es bastante irregular. Los 3 primeros tomos son muy top y vemos a Fujimoto sacándose el nabo con esos story boards que nadie le pide pero que todos nos gozamos. Aquí, en concreto, esto destaca en las escenas de acción, pues encima el cabron se ocupa de corogreafiarlas y de que cada golpe, llave, disparo o puñalada tenga un orden y un sentido. Una vez llegados al tomo 4 la historia pega un rumbo diferente y conforme avanzamos de tomo todo va dando no vueltas, sino tirabuzones a los que creo que les hace falta mucho más contexto y sentido. Luego también está el tema de que me parece exageradamente más desagradable que Chainsaw Man (pero es demasiado eh, rollo típico autor pesao que le encanta retorcer a sus personajes y a su mundo pero hasta puntos que no tiene ni sentido, casi como todo el rato quisiese hacer la burrada más gore y anti derechos humanos que exista sólo por llamar la atención), además de que no siento ni la mitad de cariño por sus personajes.
No sé, al principio tiene mucho potencial, pero luego es todo una fumada. Que Chainsaw Man también es una fumada bastante gorda, pero es una fumada que tiene muchísimo más sentido que esto, sobre todo porque si en Fire Punch Fujimoto no sabía esconder esa mano roñosa del autor que está desesperado por que sus personajes digan o hagan lo que él quiere que digan o hagan, para Chainsaw Man y sus posteriores obras ya supo perfectamente cómo se hacía eso de manejar desde las sombras. Aunque en Chainsaw Man Parte 2 está volviendo a la misma mierda de antes... En momentos así, Fujimoto, aún siendo un genio, queda totalmente capado por sus fantasías sexuales y cinefilas.

One of the absolute best pieces of media this world has ever been blessed with.
Its a love letter to movies and at the core, a book about understanding people. We understand the uneducated actions of agni, we understand the troubles of the citys false god juda, forced to carry a lie and lead the people forever when there is no sign of the end to the worlds forever winter. We understand the peoples need to live seeing slaves as just another nesseary thing the new world needs, adopting new mindsets to better justify there horrible actions. we understand the slaves struggles, there lies to themselves that its what thier ment to due as fule and there eventually break down under the new rule of sam, someone who gave them thier strength then forced them into submission. We understand togattas actions and philosophy about life after knowing he was forced into a perpetual hell of living as something he isnt. we understand even the ice witch, not seeing an end in sight now just wants what she can conceivably see as whats best for the world, star wars. And we even come to understand a old doma with his misguided youth under the gise of the city.

Manga anterior a Chainsaw Man. Es bastante más oscuro y desgradable, muy acorde al tipo de mundo en el que viven los personajes. Hay varias cosas de Fire Punch que veo reutilizadas en Chainsaw Man y es divertido jugar a ver referencias. Como no, el cine tiene nuevamente un papel importantísimo. Me ha gustado un montón, creo que es una obra, en general, bastante redonda. Al ser más corta que Chainsaw es más fácil que tenga más cálidad. Si bien no supera a la saga de Seguridad Pública, si que me parece bastante mejor que los capitulos de Asa Mitaka, aunque Gabri me odie por ello. En fin, que os lo leais.

Un capolavoro, molto semplicemente. Ma non un capolavoro che ti tiene per mano, ti rassicura, ti offre conforto in una trama. Questo è un capolavoro che riesce contemporaneamente ad analizzare il concetto di finzione sia nel medium artistico, sia nella vita delle persone, e allo stesso tempo la natura umana sia nell' individuo, sia nella massa. Una visione assolutamente nera e reale che non risparmia nessuno, il protagonista per primo. E la parola protagonista ha qui una rilevanza che solo leggendo il manga potrete capire.

Fujimoto takes concepts and brings them in a disturbing way, shocking the system, leaving you speechless. Fire punch is as much a story about incest and cannibalism, as it is about progress and stagnation, existentialism and essentialism. It is a story about human beings seeking meaning in a world that takes all meaning. A story about hope where there is no hope. In Fire punch, I see characters beyond the fictional world they inhibit. They act out the human condition, its disgusting roots; its awe-inspiring branches. That, for me, is what makes this work so powerful.

Herhangi bir distopik eser için bile fazla sert başlıyor ve başlarda mola vermeden uzun süre okumayı sürdüremedim. Editörünün Fujimltoyu darlamasının da etkisi var gibi hissetmekle birlikte hikaye bir noktada o sert üslubu daha shounen bir tarafa bırakıyor. Ana karakterin kişiliğinin çevresindeki insanlara göre fazlasıyla yeniden inşa edilmesi sebebiyle anlaşılması ve motivasyonu çok flu kalıyor. Finale giden yolda yan karakterler olmasa yavaş yavaş ilerleyen bir magmayı izlemekten farksızlaşabiliyor hikaye. 7/10 ⭐️

the plot was interesting, i really liked some aspects of it, especially the ending. but one thing that confused me was how the personality of the main character was developed. one moment he's this naive boy who has no clue about modern world, next moment he's this professional manipulator who will lie and betray to save his "sister". there was no logic but i guess it wasn't that bad. also, the incest parts were just ughh

Not quite as imaginative as Fujimoto's break out hit Chainsaw man, but still hits a lot of weird notes and quirkiness that he excels at. I liked that this series wasn't afraid to be super dark, and the story (while relatively simple) helped support those themes well. Some of the characters felt a little thin and the best character of the series is killed off halfway through. Still it is an entertaining read, just be ready for some really heavy and tragic shit.

Binge read the whole thing in one day. What. The. Hell.
Is it a story about capitalist exploitation of the many workers for the benefit of the few? A story about religion? About nihilism, finding purpose, forming an identity? A tale about how we hurt others by selfishly imposing our desires upon them? Or is it about some guy who just can't decide if he wants to die or bang his sister? Somehow, it's all of those. Comical, sad, beautiful. This is an experience.
Is it a story about capitalist exploitation of the many workers for the benefit of the few? A story about religion? About nihilism, finding purpose, forming an identity? A tale about how we hurt others by selfishly imposing our desires upon them? Or is it about some guy who just can't decide if he wants to die or bang his sister? Somehow, it's all of those. Comical, sad, beautiful. This is an experience.

Impresionante la cantidad de gente quejándose de que no es una historia de SUPER héroes cuando específicamente trata de que los héroes en primer lugar no existen. Banco muchísimo a Fujimoto por hacer que el primer volumen sea lo más asqueroso posible para asegurarse de que los normetas no lean el resto de la historia.

Para ser la "obra maestra" de Fujimoto es bastante flojita, me gustaron más los otros trabajos.
ahora, me encanta el cine y me encantan las referencias a lo cinemático que uno puede llegar a hacer y eso es excelente en toda esta obra, después ves q se repiten algunos conceptos (eso por haber visto csm primero), lo que me gustó es lo lyncheano de la obra misma, el concepto del tiempo siento q lo tiene rarisimo, pero en esta obra funciona.
está buena, pero tampoco la recomiendo

One of the best manga from tatsuki fujimoto. Ending is not good but overall it will give you thrilling experience. Funny,dark, emotional at the same time. I personally loved how main character name matches with what he is going through in this entire manga, Agni. Believe me this manga will leave you with so many questions!?

2.5. Some big ups and downs. There was some stuff in there that kind of made me sick but then some also other cool stuff but then also quite a bit that I found boring and did not care at all about. The ending was fine.

wtf acabo de leer... En parte cosas muy chulas, en parte cosas quw arruinan un poco la experiencia. Como siempre finales sacados de la manga, pero bueno. Por lo general, muy original. lastima el incesto y esas cosas

Oh my f-I got goodness, this series is so amazing. It’s a deconstruction of…everything we humans hold dead. This book has it all. I would recommend this to any fan of manga or any chainsaw man fan.
