Tenly is very upset that she doesn’t know where her parents are or even if they are still alive. Her depression is getting worse. It is getting to the point where it is taking over her whole mind leaving no room for hardly anything else. Kalib wants nothing more than to take Tenly’s pain upon himself.

Kalib has a chance to help Tenly when he is asked to go on a mission to visit some of the camps around the area looking for others who made need their help. Kalib sees this mission as an opportunity to look for Tenly’s parents.

Kalib is in love with Tenly and will do whatever he can to help ease her burdens if he possibly can. Kalib wants to marry Tenly but she is so sad at the moment that it would be wrong to even bring the subject up to Tenly of their possible marriage one day. I mean how can she think about being happy when she is so sad?

Splintered started off with a blast and never let up from the first page until the last. The moment I opened up Splintered I was hooked and I couldn’t turn those pages fast enough as I just had to know how it was all going to turn out in the end. The suspense kept me glued to the pages as I sat on the edge of my seat waiting to see what lay ahead for Kalib, Mia, and Luek on their mission.

I would recommend Splintered to all dystopia fans! Grab your copy of Splintered today!

It was a little more difficult getting into this book than the previous one in the series. Not sure why, maybe it was a little too long between books for me. After about the halfway point it was very quick reading.

Tenley tends not to be the easiest character to connect with, particularly if she's not the narrator. I felt a little removed from Kalib's solicitude toward her. The parts of the story dealing with the camps were the most interesting to me. Things really got moving towards the end of the story. I keep trying to understand how things change so much from this world to the Configured (this series is a prequel of the Configured series) one. Can't wait to see if my theory on that is correct.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Wow we literally hit the ground running as we continue this fast paced YA dystopian series. The world building continues to be incredible and the storyline continues to grab you and hold on tight as we follow these amazing characters on their journey. It’s suspenseful, it’s gripping and it will have you on the edge of your seat biting your nails especially with the twists and turns you will not see coming. I found myself holding my breathe on more then one occasion and gasping in others as we get some answers to our questions but then more questions arise. It’s a great continuation of this series.

Terrific Series

It took me awhile to remember this series and then I was quickly drawn back in to this amazing dystopian world. Fast pace, page turner and a plot twist that I never saw coming. I read this in one sitting - just couldn't wait to see what happened. Two negatives that do not affect the rating - 1) I wish there would be a recap to make it easier to transition right into the story and 2) why oh why do I have to wait another year for the conclusion? Love this author and her works!

I really enjoyed this continuation of the series. Tenet and Kalib have
reunited, but her parents have been missing since the evacuation. Dr. Pierce and Tenly are working on a cure for Aves. The Cobalts who escaped from the Tenements are being housed in refugee camps. The conditions are terrible. Unrest is brewing. Even if a cure is found, will the Cobalts share it? They don’t trust the Scarlets who are helping them. Is the Alliance crumbling? I’m looking forward to the next book! I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.

Great book

The story continued right on and didn't miss a beat. I really liked that this book was written from Kalib's POV. It delved into his character, showing the reader that anyone can second guess their decisions in life, but perseverance and leaning on family and friends for support can go a long way.
This book felt a little short, so am looking forward to the next one to tell more of the story.

This book told from Kalib’s perspective is great even if you have not read any of the other books but the back story and lead up helps this book make more sense. Kalib is trying his best to be what everyone wants him to be, but is it what he wants? I really liked this book and will have to go back and try and catch the ones I have missed. The narrator for this audio was wonderful and had you feel as though you were right there with our team. I cannot wait for more.

Amazing! This book is so good! So many twists and turns, ups and downs, friend or foe! Can you trust everyone around you? Are everyone's best interests in mind? Well they find the cure for Aves? Well everything be ok? Many answers in this book but many more as well. Can't wait to see what happens next! I voluntarily received and read an ARC for an honest review.

It took me a while to fall into this book, I'd forgotten some of the intrigue, but it started off with a bang and had me gripped. Once I'd remembered, I was hooked. Fast paced with intricate and complex world building, beautifu character building and a plot that had me surprised with it's twists and turns. This is a fantastic read, and I can't wait for more from Tenly and Kalib.

Another Hit

I have been reading this series since first published. I love how Illusion of Truth gave us readers the background from Mrs Penner Configured series a few years prior.
I like the interactions between our main characters, Tinley and Kalib bring the story together and the supporting characters add to create a great storyline. Bravo 👏

Twisted webs weaved

Returning to Kalib's perspective for book 4, we stayed right where book 3 left off. Without giving spoilers, all I can say is oh, the twisted webs we weave! I need book 5 NOW!! ;-)

I would recommend this to any adult. There are no intimate scenes or language but there is mild to severe violence as well as references to issues such as trafficking.

Great story that starts out fast paced and gets better from there. There is plenty of suspense and enough twists to new you interested until the very end.

An amazing dystopian book. Worrying where your parents are, isn’t easy for Tenly. Danger, hoping to find them. Strong characters to keep the story going.

I enjoyed the audio version of this story. This continuation of The Illusion of Truth focuses on Kalib and his perception of what is going on. I really enjoyed hearing from another voice as it rounds out the series The narration was perfect sounding like I imagined the character did. This didn't seem like a long read as the story kept moving. I really enjoyed this.

I received an audio ARC for review; all opinions are my own.
