I’m sorry but Maci might be supposed to be intelligent but she repeatedly comes across as massively too stupid to live.
No one can possibly be that ignorant as to not know that military personnel are trained in unarmed combat, in addition to all the various weapons training. I don’t for a minute believe that a grown adult living in the US would not know this. Yet Maci signed Chase up for a beginner’s self defence course!
In addition to that, she grew up in this area of Montana, and her own mother died in a car crash because of black ice in the winter. I don’t for a minute believe that she would decide to drive her non-winterized car over a dangerous pass at night with snow coming. For that matter I don’t believe that she wouldn’t have winterized her car and bought proper winter gear when she decided to move back home.
There were many other instances where she showed no signs of self preservation and/or ignorance of things she should know given where and how she grew up.

None of this makes any sense so I spent the book loathing the stupidity of the character. Just bad writing here.

I love this series

This series was exciting, well written, extremely well edited, just a suspense to keep the reader interested, but not enough to get boring. I like that this author did not have the difficulty between the man and the woman long and drawn out as some authors do. It's a good story, take that back a great story, that is Girl Meets Boy, girl boy have trouble, girl boy get back together, and live happily Every After. I don't mind that premise. In fact, I love those type of stories. But I love this author because she doesn't make the boy girl problems drag on and on until they get boring. I would recommend to this series to anyone who likes a relatively fast-paced story with a happily ever after ending. I'm going on to read about the Sutter boys now and expect that series to be just as good.

Awesome family storyline

I loved reading this series.
Very well written.
Character plots were deep.
I highly recommend reading the series, although any of the books are great on their own.
