Nora's father made a marriage arrangement with the sadist Dante, it should be her older sister, Giana, to marry him, but Nora wants to save her delicate sister.
Little she knows, that Dante always wanted her, but thought her dad will never allow it.
Now, the tables have turned, and it's Dante that makes the call, and he wants Nora.
Then, comes Luca, and he can't allow the marriage to happen, so he kidnaps Nora.
To secure his alliance with Nora's father, he marries her, instead of Dante.
Nora feels like a pawn in their hands, but when start to grow an intimacy between them, Dante makes his move.
Now, Nora, it's a question of pride and strength between the two of them.
None of them can allow the other to keep Nora, they won't have the respect of his men, and the Russian mafia is getting ground.
This is a sexy, hot story.
Can't give more than 4,6 stars because of some of the dialogues, it felt weak.
Dante is on heavy bdsm sh*t, but Luca is also on rough sex.
And now, both, Nora and Luca, are on Dante's hands...

I’m a big fan of the Impossible series by Julia Sykes. In fact, it is one of my favourite BDSM series. I devoured them in no time and the series had me diving into other books from the author. While I have not read all the author’s books, I have read enough to know I’m regularly hooked. Unfortunately, such was not the case with In Their Hands.
I’ll be honest and say that In Their Hands felt like it was written by a completely different person. Everything was so quick and without the development I’ve come to expect from the author. There were so many interesting parts of the world I wanted to find out more about, but we never really got to explore them. The relationship between the characters moved at an unbelievable pace, flipping almost entirely between chapters. Add in the fact that it was very repetitive, and I felt like I was reading an early version of the story rather than a polished introduction to a series.
Clearly many have loved this one – and many more are sure to love it – yet it wasn’t to the standard I’ve come to expect from the author, and it left me feeling cheated. In all honesty, this is one case where I’m not interested in what comes next.

Story started out interesting, then became a bit slow-going. Picked back up at the end in a twisted and dark quagmire which has me looking forward to book 2 coming out next week.
Poor Nora is a doll being grabbed at between two controlling men. Eventually, one gains the upper hand, beginning a game of darkly erotic sadism…which is where the story drops us. Ugh.

In Their Hands by Julia Skyes is a fascinating and unique mafia story that revolves around a timid looking yet fierce in her core mafia princess, Nora and two rival mafia men, Dante and Luca, who decide to take revenge on each other by using her. Although it is marked as an MFM and both men have scorching hawt intimate moments with Nora at varying degrees, the story pulls the reader towards an unexpected turn, so the next book is probably where we will have more of a clear MFM scene. Beware that In Their Hands has CNC trope and BDSM, but that’s always a PLUS 🔥🖤 in my book. The plot line is truly intriguing so it is definitely a must-read and I can’t wait for the second installment In Their Power to come out🙏🏻

A simply captivating read, filled with action, intrigue and depravity of a jealous man
Nora taken the place of her older but very delicate sister who had been sold by her father into marriage to Dante Torrio a man that was a known sadist, brutal in his proclivities all so that her father could overthrow the upcoming change in Vitale crime family as Luca was soon to take the mantle as his father’s health was failing fast. Nora had known that there was no way she would be able to stand his brutality and so had taken over her place
She had no had to concern herself for too long as Luca had turned up at her father’s house and had removed her and then married her so that her fathers plan to try and overthrow him with the death of his father by backing the up-and-coming Dante the sadistic capo. Nora soon realises that Luca will do anything to ensure her safety and happiness, unfortunately he had not expected Nora’s father to once again go after his daughter.
Nora had thought in her life to date she had experienced every kind of pain and cruelty there was from her father and the men he employed to dole out his punishments, when she had been taken from Luca it had nearly broken her but the psychological game Dante played with her mind and body were close to breaking her, especially the forced marriage.
When Luca had come to rescue his wife, it had cost the live of his men and now he was also trapped and Dante was enjoying his perverted games by using Nora as an instrument of torture, when ever she refused, he threaten his life of physical harm and she had to comply and as yet there is nothing, he can do to help his wife.
He had thought that when he had Luca held prisoner the pain and anguish, he would implement would bring him so much joy but the hurt he sees in her eyes and the way she comforts and fights for Luca is tearing at his soul, this is something he never envisioned.
He cares for his little bird and is is openly apparent that she cares for her husband and he is unsure how to progress with his plan. I guarantee that as you read this wonderful story you will be totally captivated.
Guessing what is going to happen between the three individuals Nora, Luca and Dante will keep you totally enthralled by this book.
Like me you will be left waiting earnestly for the second book in the series, the title is going to be “In Their Power” by Julia Sykes.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Nora endured the brutal mafia life - all her life. In an attempt to save her sister from an alliance marriage she agrees to be Dante's "little bird," but before she can wrap her head around it, Luca kidnaps her and forces her into marriage. She won't break for Dante, but starts to see that he's not the savage he was always made out to be and she starts having feelings for her husband. The fact that he makes her body sing, just a plus. He's gentle and caring with her when needed, but his inner beast does surface. When Luca's father passes and he's now the new Don, Dante sees his opening for retribution and Nora finds herself married to two men, both her kidnappers, and one who has a sick and twisted agenda.
Wow! This book took a twist I didn't see coming and poor Nora. When she offered herself as tribute I don't think she expected to find herself in the position she's in. HOLY CRAZY HELL! Nora has volunteered herself as tribute in an arranged marriage as her older sister is kind of delicate & wouldn't be able to survive a marriage to the brutal Dante Torrio. Well, I'm strong as hell but I don't know if I could handle it to be honest. However, a wild card came out of the blue in the guise of Luca, who steals Nora for his own which really throws this story into chaos as he marries her quickly. See, Nora's father is a piece of work, so he's not taking this lying down, and will get his daughter to Dante come hell or high water. This story really messed with my head, so please if you have any triggers, it may not be for you. There's a lot of darkness that had me pause, and I'm doing my best to not give anything since there are a great deal of twists along for the ride. This story isn't even close to over so it ended on a brutal cliffhanger so now the impatient wait begins because my mind is pretty well set in a direction so time will tell if Julia Sykes can change it! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I am NEVER disappointed in anything Julia writes! Her stuff is pretty much my dark kept secret that I never want anyone I know to know what I’m reading.
If you love dark romance, mafia men, a little rough sex, some blood and violence then this is for you! There are definitely lots of trigger warnings for the wild and crazy readers, but phheewww I can’t wait for book 2 and hope to get my hands on that one too!
Kidnapping, and I feel like the MFC falls for the kidnapper. Even though feelings like that shouldn’t be there, that’s my gut feeling, haha.
Be aware there is a lot of scenes that feel like rape, but are considered CNC, consensual non consensual, AKA rape play.
The mfc doesn’t want it, but has to, in order to endure.
Dante is very dark and twisted and sadistic, where Luca (my personal favorite) has more of a romantic side. He’s still a bad man but is willing to be a little sweeter to Nora so that her life can be somewhat decent… Dante just wants to be a sadistic asshole
I will definitely re read this over and over in the future!

Dante is the Top Capo of the Vitale family and he is dark and deadly. But, Nora took her place to keep her sister safe. But then Luca Vitale the heir to the Vitale Crime Family takes Nor from Dante and he wants to marry her for game move. But then Dante kidnaps her back. This starts their story fighting over one women and one family.

Luca is brutal but is somewhat tender and tries to establish a relationship with his new trophy wife. Nora has been brutalized her whole life and has learn to put on a facade and control her emotions around the men in her life. I could really feel her pain, anxiety and desires. There are intense scenes and danger as Nora is torn between two men. This page turning story is an emotional roller coaster from the beginning to the cliffhanger end. I received an ARC for an honest review.

This book was just… WOW! Definitely one of the darkest books written by Julia and it was masterfully done. This book does contain some very disturbing scenes so caution is recommended. The meticulous details and calculations for Dante’s revenge was just so beautifully written. This book definitely is a total “mind f***k”. You think it’s going well until it doesn’t. And just when you thought it was over… it’s not! I for one cannot wait to read the second book. If you enjoy a roller coaster of feelings and emotions and don’t mind the cliff hanger… this book will give it all and more.

The basic rundown of this story is that Nora is forced into an engagement with Dante by her father. Then she is kidnapped and forced to marry Luca. Then she is kidnapped again by Dante and he forces her to marry him to get back at Luca for stealing what was his.
As I read, I loved Nora's strength and spirit, and she was a very relatable character. I really started to like Luca and his protectiveness of his wife. Dante, well, he is a true sadistic monster.
I cannot wait to read the next book to find out what will happen next!! As always, Julia delivers an amazing story with characters you hate to love.

Julia Sykes is the queen of mafia romance. I couldn’t stop reading once I started. A great start to a new series! I can’t wait to read more.

I finished this book last week but I had to sit on my thoughts about it for a while and I’ve realized that I do like the book and want really want to read the next one. These are my spoiler free thoughts.
I loved how this story started and all the tropes within the book in general. I mean kidnapping, forced marriage, touch her and ☠️?! Yes please sign me all the way up. I think there is a favorite person in a why choose romance whether there be 2 or 8, and for me Luca was my favorite. That’s probably because we see a lot of their relationship even though it’s for a short amount of time.
Dante? Ummmmm total mystery to me. I need to read the next book for some background to get a clear view of his motives because the cliffhanger that was the ending had me question if I wanted to read the next book or not. But I do, and maybe we’ll get flashbacks of his past. Idk but I’m excited to read the next one with or without flashbacks but I need some answers!!!

Nora is a kind woman. She has been through a lot. But she has learned to maintain a mask. I loved her strength.
Luca is determined to keep Nora safe and not let his enemies win. He has a softer side to him. I loved his interactions with Nora.
Dante is a really dark character. But still quite an enigma to unwrap. And I am here for it.
I will add that this is a very dark read with some scenes that might be triggering.
The writing draws you in. Each time I thought there would be a softer pace, another twist happened. There was not one dull moment. I could not wait to read more.
I am so ready to learn more about what happens with Luca, Nora and Dante. I need more of their dynamics. That ending left me wanting more.
I highly recommend this book if dark mafia is your thing.

Nora is a kind woman. She has been through a lot. But she has learned to maintain a mask. I loved her strength.
Luca is determined to keep Nora safe and not let his enemies win. He has a softer side to him. I loved his interactions with Nora.
Dante is a really dark character. But still quite an enigma to unwrap. And I am here for it.
I will add that this is a very dark read with some scenes that might be triggering.
The writing draws you in. Each time I thought there would be a softer pace, another twist happened. There was not one dull moment. I could not wait to read more.
I am so ready to learn more about what happens with Luca, Nora and Dante. I need more of their dynamics. That ending left me wanting more.
I highly recommend this book if dark mafia is your thing.

This book was so damn good. I started it later in the evening once I settled down for the night, and I stayed up till early the next morning (2am to be exact) finishing it. Julia can deliver a story so incredibly intriguing and spice that you will lose all track of time. Guys, the spice this book had to offer was off the charts (and I was not mad about it). Nora is a mafia princess. Her father is going to marry Nora's older sister off to Dante Torrio, the Tip Capo of the Vitale family. He's dark, deadly and basically the devil himself. Nora insists that he marry her instead, because her sister is too fragile for that. But Luca Vitale has different plans. Heir to the Vitale Crime Family, Luca decides to kidnap Dante's wife and make her his own. This book is filled with dominating males, a strong, sassy woman, and so much angst. Also, the ending will leave you on the edge of your seat and dying for the next book. I would 100 times over recommend this book, or any other book by Julia.

However, once this marriage is agreed upon, Nora is kidnapped and forced to marry Luca. Luca is the son of the current mafia boss and is determined not to allow Dante to usurp his leadership. Luca is comfortable having Nora as a wife, but he demands respect and obedience. He would like her to be happy, but like most men of the time, his decisions come first. They are able to spend only one week together, when she is stolen by Dante.
Dante also marries Nora and insists she is HIS wife. Dante has many deep and dark kinks and has no trouble including Nora into his desires, whether she agrees or not. Essentially, Dante is erotically yet enticingly evil.
Who will eventually claim Nora? How will she survive two sensually dominant Alpha “husbands?”
Even though Nora’s erratic life ends on a cliffhanger, I totally recommend this tumultuous story that emotionally kept me captivated!

Bravo to Ms. Sykes on another amazing book! The spice in this book was absolutely OUT OF THIS WORLD! I am a huge fan of MFM books, and while I think that this will be something that we see more of in the next book -the spice in this story COMPLETELY makes up for it. In my opinion I would say that this is more of a darker romance with some CNC spots in it. There is the perfect amount of drama in this story as well! Bravo to the author on an amazing book!

In this intense beginning of a new series, Elenora was promised to a capo in the Vitale family after her father tries to set up Dante Torrio with her older sister...but to save her more fragile sister from a life with the known sadist, Nora as she prefers to be called, says she will marry Dante. The head of the mafia family is sick and not expected to live, with Nora's father being a trusted advisor, but decided to back Dante rather than the heir Luca. When faced with treachery withing the ranks, Luca kidnaps Nora, marrying her immediately to fortify his position...which spawns even more hatred for Luca from Dante...but you will need to read this compelling story to see what happens, but beware there is more to the story as there is a cliffhanger...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

This book had me on the edge the whole time. It started as an arranged marriage to this guy then Boom! Kidnapped. Then forced into marriage which made you change your mind about the new guy, but that wedding night was freaking dark and sexy. Then Boom!! Kidnapped a freaking again by previous the first guy which does care about her well being but has a really dark and twisted kink going which you'll have to find out, but the ending of this cliffhanger had me going "what the h*** did I just read!". In other words, this is a must read if you want a dark, sexy book to read. Can't wait for the next.

In Their Hands starts off fast and furious-mafia drama with Luca and Dante.
Old, dying fathers and their need to create a line of succession! Including an arranged marriage.
There is so much happening in the beginning of the story… no spoilers! And then you settle into a semi-calm time where Nora and Luca settle a bit. Then BAM crazy turmoil hits and Nora experiences, literal de ja vu, now with Dante! Before you can wrap your head around what’s happening, we are left with a cliffhanger. I can’t imagine what the next book will bring. I can’t wait!!!

The first book in a new trilogy from Julia Sykes with Elenora finding herself torn between two rival mafia mobsters vying for control of the Vitale crime family and who see her as the key. This was definitely a roller coaster of a read albeit a fairly short one. It is more at the darker end of the spectrum with some situations that made for slightly uncomfortable reading but although Dante and Lucca are both brutal monsters there was something about the way they were with Nora that appeared strangely gentle and tender especially Lucca in the opening chapters when he first meets her and the way he defends her to her father. Usually with a plot like this I can pick a hero to cheer for, willing him to kill the ‘baddie’ so he can live happily ever after with the heroine but right now I’m feeling conflicted and just as torn as Nora as to who I should chose. I honestly can’t begin to imagine where Julia Sykes is going to go next with this story but I cant wait to find out.

Mafia romance! Yes!!!! Ok I got that out. Needless to say I do love Mafia Romance novels and this one did not disappoint!! Nora was interesting and quite tough. But really she had to be with how her father let his men treat her.
Her love for her sister was so sweet and that is really how she gets into the marriage with Luca. Who happened to have been a crush at one time.

Brave Nora I wish her so much luck as she is caught between two powerful men Luca Vitale and Dante Torrio and both want her as their wife, it is such a powerplay on who is more powerful and Dante is a sadistic dominant man but oh I am so intrigued with him, I can't wait to see how this plays out.
The power, danger, dominance ,and hot scenes are to die for and I loved it I could not look away. I loved how different it is and the writing is fantastic. I need more.
