The requested and highly anticipated sequel to the cult horror phenomenon "Desolation"
I really enjoyed how Isolation picked up right where the last book left off—it gave a great sense of continuity and closure to the story that began in the first book. I liked that it continued the overall narrative but took it in a new direction with different characters, which kept things fresh while still tying back to the original storyline. It felt like this book wrapped up the origin story of what was causing all the death and destruction in a satisfying way. I also appreciated that some familiar characters carried over from the first book and played a larger role here—it made the world feel more connected. The pacing was excellent; it was an easy read that ended in a good place. Nothing felt rushed or missing, but it also didn’t drag on or feel overdone. The time skips were handled really well—they were clearly labeled, easy to follow, and placed at appropriate points in the story. Each one made sense and added to the flow rather than breaking it. Overall, Isolation was a solid continuation that provided closure, expanded the story in meaningful ways, and was enjoyable from start to finish.
This was a roller coaster ride reading both Isolation series books by RW Duder. There are violent deaths that may turn your stomach but you can’t put it down because you want to know what’s next. You want something good to happened to the characters’ you’ve grown to care for. I rate it fast pace, good character build up, scary and with violent deaths. Ends well. The horrible Dr. Raines got away so will there be 3rd book to the series?
