A year ago, Eden “Kangaroo” Watson went to Hector Nunez, asking him to free her man and his crew. She got her wish but also gained the attention of the cartel leader, who decided that she was what he wanted.
Hector Nunez gets what he wants, no matter the cost. After meeting Eden, he becomes obsessed with the woman with guts, brains, and beauty. The only thing that stands in his way is Carl, her husband, but Hector has a plan to get rid of him.
Eden’s heart belongs to Carl. It has since the day they met. Hector’s attention is causing problems in her happy home. Her husband plans to kill Hector, but Eden’s not sure that starting a war with the cartel’s leader is a good idea. She may have to sacrifice the love she shares with Carl to save his life.
It was time to eliminate the threat. Carl and Eden had been at odds recently but they needed each other to win👍🏽. They both had different ideas on how to strike the enemy and keep everyone safe and casualties low. The extra steps Carl took to ensure his family would be cared for was sobering😌. Eden did her best to be supportive and it helped that Lica and Sameera although still unsure of her real motives helped to keep her company😊. Seeing as Panther knew of Sameera lessened a bit of the concern. It was evident how much Carl was respected by who all showed up🥰🥰🥰. So happy that the threat has been eliminated. I honestly didn’t get how Hector thought Eden was going to be accepting of him, she was bound to find out the truth😤. I had to laugh at some of ribbing Carl got from his RB brothers, especially Bear😂. I’m glad that Eden and Carl were able to work their way back to one another😘😍😘, I know their love is stronger than before.
This was another outstanding addition to the Road Beasts series. I’m looking forward to more.
Each of the stories by Kimberly Smith have been a delight to read each month when a new book comes out. I highly recommend reading. Each story is about a person needing to understand they have a purpose and people come to be beside them in their journey. I absolutely loved each book that have come out. Hope you do too.
Each book was unique and different. The characters had failings but had character answers likeable. The author's hero and heroine are different from The norm. Looking forward to her new series whatever it may be - one thing I know it will be good.
Is an amazing woman well rounded in every way, loving, kind, generous, compassionate, loyal and forgiving, worldly and spiritually to her family and friends...mz.Kim has a really great series with this mature romance over 40 selection...I look forward to more from Carl/Roo and all the other animals as well real love is still out there Wow👏👍😘😍😆😀😃😁😄😅😂😉😏😊😎🙋💓💗💞💘💃🏾😈
I loved the maturity of Eden as a wife and partner. She continued to trust God for her family, but she knew how to use the tools available to her to protect her family. Bye Hector...
I am so sick of these endings. The preacher never pronounced Lica and Beast husband and wife. You could have written a better story about Roo and Carl. Their life was so interesting. Your covers are awesome👍.
Eve was Carl ride or die chic. Eve was a God fear woman that was put in Carl's life for a reason. The whole series was great. Please continue to write about the road beast.
I couldn’t put this story down. Finished it in a day. It had adventure, love, hope and true redemption. Love this series for the compassion and believable characters. Can’t wait to read more stories by this author.
I'm not a fan of how this story ended. Did he stay the head? And I thought this was supposed to be the last book? I'm a fan of the series but I also like consistency.
In this installment of Kimberly Smith’s The Road Beast series, Eden and Carl will have to put Hector down once and for all. Hector an ever present threat to Carl due to his obsession with Eden. To obtain the full context of how it started check out Enticing Eden. Carl and Eden each devise a plan to take care of Hector; however, before either can execute them. Hector makes a move that no one expected, except everyone should. Another dynamic was also in play here as someone from Panther’s past has her part to play.
A well-developed story line with solid characters; however, at time Eden made me want to slap her upside the head while yelling the kingdom sufferth violence and the violent take it by force (paraphrasing). From my perspective there were some moments of if you don’t get ahead of this, why aren’t you getting head of this, ugh! You both still haven’t learned a thing about transparency.
I received an advance reader copy of this book from the author. This review is purely from my perspective, and all opinions are my own. I am under no obligation to review the book.
