Hazel's Visions

Rate this book
Ana has ignored her premonitions for far too long, but when her latest vision threatens the life of another person she loves, will she be able to learn how to manage her ability in time or will it be too late?

Ana Hazel Sanchez was only five years old when she had her first premonition. That was the night she saw her father die and was powerless to stop it. Since then, for her mother’s benefit, she has spent her life hiding her abilities, but the visions never stopped.

Thanks to last year, when one of her visions caused a big misunderstanding and ended with someone bloodied, most of the people in her small town now see her as a nutcase. A viewpoint spurred on by her archnemesis Ashley and her cronies.

Now in her senior year of high school, she plans to keep her head down and count down the days when she can leave this place. But she can’t outrun her dreams.

When her latest vision has her scrambling for answers, she turns to the only person she can count on. He’s the person who accepted her and her secret all along— her best friend Jeremy. With Jeremy by her side, she will find a community of others with similar abilities. Ana can only hope that one of these people will show her what she needs to know to save a life.

Along the way, the two begin to wonder could there be more than friendship between them?

This was a great coming of age story with a mix of mystery and supernatural powers. The story follows Hazel as she deals with the demons of her visions and suffers through figuring out her way. Thankfully, she has her best friend by her side to support her through this journey. As if that wasn't enough to deal with it, she still has to deal with high school and mean girls, which may be even more tormenting than seeing your loved ones die in your sleep every night.

It was written very well and I was hooked. There were some plot twists that took me by surprise. My biggest critique is that wasn't longer! It was so intriguing and I was so sad to finish it.
