Once you survive the first half of this book, it gets better. Slightly, but better. I had hopes for this couple based on the little snippet in the previous book and I shouldn’t have.
The first half is absolutely - capital S - stupid. I hate miscommunication trope with passion, but here I couldn’t decide if I hate the trope more or the heroine. She was supposed to be over 30, yet she acted like a high school teen.
She wanted the guy deeply in love with her to back off, yet when he finally did, she kissed him and then proceeded to get upset with him for that. Make it make sense. And she was constantly making big deal out of nothing. What did he see in her? Beats me.
And all of that stemmed from a simple misunderstanding they could have cleared years ago, but apparently she’s only sassy and outspoken when it suits her. This made no sense for her character arc, really. Based on her personality, she would be the girl in a guy’s face immediately after thinking he did something wrong. Yet, she waited over 10 years to clear up something so simple it had no business being such a big deal to become a whole plot.
I honestly don’t get it. The author creates unique characters I’m drawn to, with great family vibes and so much potential for beautiful stories, but then she writes them into those cliche plots that almost always survive on lies and miscommunication alone. That’s a shame, really.

Esta es la edición en español de Mesmerized by you, cuarta entrega de la serie The Kingcaid Billionaires y, de momento, puede que sea el más flojo de todos.
Está bien escrito, pero la historia no convence. Marlowe y Nolen se conocen desde niños y él empezó a pedirle matrimonio cuando tenía diez años. Pero algo ocurre cuando él se graduaba en la universidad y la relación terminó.
Diez años después vuelven a encontrarse, su relación es de amor-odio y no paran de discutir hasta que se ven obligados a trabajar juntos.
Marlowe me pone nerviosa. Los personajes que no se comunican, que son capaces de romper una relación y mantenerse en conflicto durante diez años por no hablar, son de los que menos me gustan.
Nolen, que no sabe qué es lo que ha hecho para que le deje y recibir el odio, opta por una actitud de adolescente que le gasta bromas todo el tiempo para recibir aunque sea su malhumor, pero recibir algo de ella.
Cuando se ven obligados a firmar la paz, el libro mejora bastante. Trata temas más complejos como la traición, el abandono y la violencia de género (abren un hogar para mujeres, no es sobre la protagonista).
Si buscas un libro en el que él persigue incansablemente a ella, éste es uno de esos.
Es entretenido, pero no es de los que voy a recordar.

Didn’t really like the story! I finished it because I was intrigued to see how it was going to end!
Marlowe is a spoiled, rich, clueless woman who believed her bf cheated on her and never confronted him for 10 years? She is described as a fear ce, strong headed woman who is really impulsive when angry but she never confronts her ex??? Yeah right…
And Nolen? Still enamoured and golden retriever like, he just forgives her believing in a lie like that? He was so in love with her that he never insisted in knowing why she broke up with him?!
I rolled my eyes so many times that they almost got stuck!
It was well written but the story sucks!!!

This story allows the reader to understand how one’s issues of abandonment affects their desires to control the ones they love. In the end while saving many lives her last action of love cause her own. It’s true what they say love never dies it just conquer all. At last the truth was learned and the love forgotten could be rebirth and grow. While ten years was lost they both had a lifetime of memories to cherish with family, loved one, and their careers

❤️Spoilerfreie Rezension für einen weiteren Keeper – absolutes Lesehighlight ❤️
Gerade habe ich das Buch „Mesmerized by you“ beendet.
Ich gebe generell keine Zusammenfassung des Buches ab, weil ich der Meinung bin, dass diese auch durch den Klappentext beim Buch schon aussagefähig ist. Insofern schildere ich hier lediglich meine Eindrücke, da dadurch sichergestellt wird, dass definitiv nicht gespoilert wird 😊

Von Tracie Delaney hatte ich bereits andere Bücher dieser Reihe gelesen. Insofern kannte ich ihren Schreistil und auch dieses Buch enttäuschte nicht. Im Gegenteil! Und wie hat es mir gefallen? Lest selbst! 🥰
Titel:
Der Titel passt wirklich 100%ig zu dem Buch. Und ich finde es toll, dass man den Originaltitel auch bei der deutschen Ausgabe verwendet. Das ist super und trifft definitiv voll auf die Zwölf 😉
Cover:
Das Cover weckt die Neugier sicher genauso sehr, wie der Klappentext! Mir gefällt es echt gut! Und man sieht auch gleich, dass es zu der Kingcaid-Reihe gehört 🥰 Und ich mag das total, wenn man diese Zusammengehörigkeit auf den ersten Blick erkennt!
Schreibstil:
Nichts wirklich Neues, wenn man den Schreibstil kennt. Das aber, was man liest ist auf dem oberen Level. Was soll ich dazu sagen? Ich war – wieder einmal - von Beginn an sofort im Buch, das Ganze entwickelt eine absolute Sogwirkung und man will unbedingt weiterlesen um zu erfahren, wie es weitergeht! Insofern definitiv süchtig machend! Mir hat das Ganze total viel Spaß bereitet. Warum? Nun ja, auch wenn das Setting nichts wirklich Neues bietet (offensichtlich), so war die Umsetzung wirklich grandios. Ich hatte noch kein Buch wie dieses, es war extrem mitreißend und auch die Wendungen waren nicht vorhersehbar! Dazu waren die Charaktere lebensecht beschrieben …( siehe weiter unten 😉) – was will man mehr?
Protagonisten:👍🤗
Auch in diesem Fall spielten die Vorgehensweise und die Dynamik der Charaktere sehr wichtige Rollen. Das Ganze wirkt glaubhaft und ist auch gefühlt authentisch geschrieben. Man spürt den Schmerz, fühlt die Freude – und auch alle anderen Gefühlsregungen werden aus erster Hand miterlebt. Die Autorin schaffte es des Öfteren, mich auf eine falsche Fährte zu locken. Langeweile mit dem Buch? Fehlanzeige! Liebenswerte Charaktere? Definitiv! Gegenspieler? Pfui Teufel! Also alles rund? Definitiv!
Stimmung/Atmosphäre:
Für mich war es einfach nur passend und stimmig. Das Buch zu lesen macht total viel Spaß und hat mir – zugegebenermaßen – auch super gefallen!
Setting:
Wie bereits gesagt: nichts Neues beim Setting, aber eine Umsetzung, die definitiv Alleinstellungsmerkmale hat. Unvorhersehbar – und deshalb auch so gut! 😍👍🤗
Explizite Szenen:
Heiß 🔥😜 – aber definitiv auch niveauvoll!
Gibt es auch Kritikpunkte?
Ja, ich habe durchaus auch einen Kritikpunkt. Im Buch gibt es Kapitelüberschriften. Mir persönlich haben diese zuweilen zu viel verraten. Das sollte man ggf. noch etwas ändern….
Das ist aber nur ein kleiner Teil des Buches, mit dem Rest war und bin ich total zufrieden!

Absolut überzeugte 5 von 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sternen. Das Buch beeindruckt mich – und ich will definitiv mitbekommen, wie es mit den Kingcaids weitergeht!

Hechizada por ti es la cuarta entrega de la serie "Kingcaid Billionaires" y en esta ocasión nos cuenta la historia de Nolen y Marlowe, tendremos como clichés "enemies to lovers" y "second chance", dos de los que más me gustan.
Marlow y Nolen se conocieron de niños y a los doce fue la primera vez que él le pidió matrimonio. Pero fue al graduarse de la universidad cuando le rompió el corazón. Marlow le odia desde entonces y siempre ha intentado evitarle. Sin embargo, se ha mudado a Las Vegas para vivir y trabajar con su hermano, que es el mejor amigo de Nolen, y ahora tendrá que aprender a convivir con él. Sobre todo si quiere hacer realidad sus sueños.
Marlow es una mujer ambiciosa en plan bien, de buen corazón y una gran ética. Siempre tuvo claro cómo sería su vida, pero la realidad es que es una mujer divorciada que dice que odia al que fue el amor de su vida, pero en verdad no le ha superado.
El futuro de Nolen también estaba claro, hasta que Marlow desaparece de su vida y no sabe por qué. Un hombre de negocios que se ocupa de la parte hotelera del negocio de su extensa familia.
La historia comenzará con el "robo" de la asistenta de Marlow por parte de Nolen, que desembocará en otra de sus riñas. Siempre están jugando a ver quién gana y esta vez lucharán por un terreno que les obligará a pasar más tiempo juntos.
Un romance de segundas oportunidades muy divertido, lleno de tira y afloja al más puro estilo de los que se pelean se desean, con él pinchando todo el rato y ella picándose con todo.
Me he entretenido muchísimo con todas sus interacciones explosivas y llenas de química. Y las dinámicas en las que bajaban un poco los muros eran muy bonitas.
Una historia que trata temas de familia, amistad, confianza, abandono y violencia de género.
Ha sido una lectura preciosa, por momentos dura, pero muy divertida y que me ha mantenido enganchada hasta el final.

Me he entretenido muchísimo con todas sus interacciones explosivas y llenas de química. Y las dinámicas en las que bajaban un poco los muros eran muy bonitas.
Una historia que trata temas de familia, amistad, confianza, abandono y violencia de género.
Ha sido una lectura preciosa, por momentos dura, pero muy divertida y que me ha mantenido enganchada hasta el final.

I absolutely loved this second chance/enimies to lovers troupe through out this book, this one was my favourite from this series, i devoured this book as it kept me glued to my kindle till that fabulous ending.
Marlowe was like dynamite and Nolen was the light to set it off, they were explosive together and the banter was just great. Plus the chemistry between this couple was smoking hot.
Loved that Nolan never gave up trying to win her back but boy Marlowe was stubborn to a fault she had a grudge that she was holding onto until enough was enough and she confronted Nolen about what had happened ten years ago. But wow she was in for a surprise when she learned the truth of that night.
Highly recommend this series, you will be in for a lovely surprise as each couple you will fall in love with trust me.

Book 4 of the Kingcaid Books and this is every bit as good as the first 3.

This is a great story of love that has lost it's way, with a bit of drama and danger thrown in. I love that Nolen has such determination and is prepared to play the long game, absolutely sure he can win the girl.

Marlowe y Nolen se conocieron desde pequeños y a la medida que fueron creciendo también lo hicieron los sentimientos que se tenían, tanto que llegaron a planear su vida en torno a un futuro juntos. Pero una noche todo cambia, y gracias a un malentendido Marlowe se decepciona de Nolen y termina casada con otro hombre; y pierden una década al estar separados. Pero cuando se vuelven a encontrar descubren que los sentimientos siguen ahí, y que aún se siguen amando a pesar de todo; pero el orgullo fue un impedimento muy fuerte que a Marlowe le costó romper.
Me encantó el enemies to lovers de esta pareja, el tira y afloje fue muy divertido de leer; sobretodo cuando cada acción que tenían iba destinado a molestar al otro para obtener una reacción diferente a la indiferencia.
Sin duda Nolen es la expectativa, a pesar de estar separados por 10 años, cuando vio que tenía otra oportunidad con Marlowe no la desaprovechó para nada y solo fue paciente hasta que ella aceptará sus sentimientos. Y amé que nunca dudó de sus sentimientos y de que ambos estaban destinados a estar juntos. Además, que ayudará a Marlowe con su sueño de crear una fundación para ayudar a las mujeres que sufren maltrato fue de los momentos más hermosos del libro.
Amé la interacción entre Nolen y Marlowe, lo poco que leí en el anterior libro me engancho tanto que tenía que conocer su historia. Y la espera valió totalmente la pena. Tracie, sin duda sabe escribir libros muy adictivos.

This is the 4th book in this series and it doesnt disappointt. This time we have a second chance love. Nolan and Marlowe have loved each other since they were kids, lies and betrayal split their friendship and budding romance up and for Marlowe there was no going back. Nolan however well he never stopped trying. Brought together by a plot of land we see them finally reclaiming their friendship and hopefully their romance. We finally find out the cause for it all going south in the first place and you will be a suprised as they were. This story is faced paced, packed full of feels and lots of emotion this story had me gripped from the very start and I couldnt put it down.I loved their story . W

From Marlowe's stubbornness and soul deep pain, to Nolen's sheer grit and determination that everything would come good, Delaney has outdone herself with this one, covering sensitive subject matter with grace and consideration.
I hope these characters appear in the rest of the series, because they've nestled into my heart and built a home. With each book in this series I get a new favorite.

least favorite of the series
This is the one I was looking forward to the most and it was my least favorite. The fmc was so childish and lost her temper over the dumbest things and treated the mmc horribly, and he just kept coming back for more. And a ten year separation over her jumping to conclusions and not communicating with him like an adult just seemed stupid to me.

If it weren't for the miscommunication storyline, this book would have been chef's kiss!
I really loved Nolen, I loved their banter and how they pushed each other's buttons! Would have loved it if we could have seen more of them from the past, but I really liked how Nolan recreated some amazing stuff towards the end showing that he never gave up!

Amazing!
The 4th book of the kincaid series has finally arrived and it was worth the wait!
Nolen is one loved up puppy dog where as Marlowe a spitfire! I actually had to place the book down for an hour because I wanted to slap them both for there bickering! However I still loved them both and Nolen's love for her shines through so much.

What more could you want in a story? You have fiery/calm main characters in a love/hate cycle, friendship, betrayal, suspense, danger, romance, hope for the future. Riveting and really enjoyable.

Persistence!
Love. Hate. Betrayal etc. Everyday life. Why do we (fiction and non fiction) have so much trouble being honest with each other? Rejection! We are so afraid of it. Marlow and Hope I figured it out .......Great story.

I quite enjoyed this book. Marlowe's stubbornness at the start was absolutely iconic. Absolutely adored them once they sorted their shit, miscommunication trope at its finest. Other than that it's an enjoyable read I think

Enjoyable read
I absolutely enjoyed this book. The banter between the two main characters made me laugh quite a bit. And the twist threw me for a loop because I absolutely did not see that coming. Onto the next book in the series lol

Honestly didn’t love it didn’t hate it. I feel like the whole idea with the domestic violence victims was amazing but I kinda wish it went more into that and the struggles of that love their story and I knew that it was abi from like the first time abi and her talked about it.
