From the #1 bestselling author of the Haunted series
IT STARTED LIKE ANY OTHER DAY, BUT THEN THINGS TURNED...SINISTER
For the residents of Meadow Lane, the terror began unobtrusively. A comet in the sky. A missing pet. But then those other things happened... Evil, horrific things.
For Sophie Cooper, the day began like any other. Only today isn’t just any other day. Today, is her 21st birthday and life as she knows it is about to change, forever.

I really didn't enjoy this story, far too depressing. No doubt the majority of readers will disagree with me. However, I thought the story was too long and drawn out before reaching its explosive conclusion. We had Sophie, an emotionally troubled young woman whose life started badly and went down hill from there. Then we had the foul mouthed friend from Hell, the horrible Victoria. The plot contained what appeared to be separate and unconnected strands but, the reasoning behind them finally became apparent at the conclusion. A conclusion I found to be totally unbelievable and rather ridiculous.
Sinister by Tony Marturano is yet another example of terrific horror. I picked this one up after reading the same author’s haunted trilogy. And it’s just as addictive. Not since Stephen King have I read a series of novel so compelling. Unlike the three books in the haunted trilogy – – and I hear there is yet another coming out this October – –Sinister is not a standalone novel, but one that is tied to the next two in the series. Sinister is not quite as compelling, nor as humorous, as the books in the haunted trilogy, and yet, I’m excited about reading the next two. This one is told in third person, not first, and like so many other horror novels, details, perspectives other than the protagonist’s—Sophie Cooper. But if you’re a fan of horror, like I am, you’ll find the first and this trilogy exciting, grotesque, and original. highly recommended!
Just finished reading this book, I thought it was amazing, the best I have read in a long while. The author has portrayed the characters brilliantly and the storyline is fantastic, my only criticism is that I have to now wait for the second instalment. Will definitely be on my list of authors, can’t wait to read more of his books. Must read, highly recommend
I couldn't finish this book. I made till the 67%. There is a lot happening and a lot of useless info is thrown at you. There's a chapter with a Detective in it and she's talking about her marriage and this and that and it leads to the actual plot of the book. The info about her was useless and pointless. I couldn't get attached to the characters, they were very boring. The spooky stuff that does happen is good. it's like 80% unless info from characters that are not that important, 10% spooky and 10% mystery.

On Sophie Cooper’s 21st birthday everything for her is about to change! What evil horrors are unfolding and why does Sophie seem to be at the centre of it all? I did find this story a bit slow to begin with and the whole thing was somewhat drawn out and it does get weird towards the end.
An unusual but interesting story but I’m not sure I’d follow it on to the next book which I suspect you’d need to do to answer the questions you’re left with.
Highly recommend this as an article of horror literacy for those looking for a nice introductory piece ! Characters, for the most, delightful and wonderful written - some could’ve been fleshed out a little more, like Janay and her relationship with Sophie but that might already be addressed in the sequel book for all I know ! March can come soon enough !
Well l don't really know what to say about this book! Some parts were gripping and had me quickly turning the pages, other parts were just awful and badly written. I haven't decided if l want to read the sequel yet
I really did enjoy this book but unfortunately only gave it four stars as the very end really let it down. Towards the end it was good but then how it was left didn't give me much incentive to go for book two so sorry Tony, I'll give it a miss.
This story holds your attention. The characters are believable and the plot is interesting and mysterious. I am looking forward to the next installment of the series.
