4 Smut Scale Stars.
Alexa Riley is one of my guilty pleasures, as I know she is for a lot of my friends.
Quick and hot with uber OTT alpha males, her books always hit the spot.
And this book even had a kind of twist - that while I suspected it - made me feel like a dirty moral-less whore for loving it even IF that twist I suspected didn't come to fruition.
But what I can say.
And I am A-Okay with that.

Ménage has always been a favorite of mine and this one definitely satisfied my needs. And this book is definitely my favorite of Alexa Riley’s so far.
It was rude, crude and extra filthy – not the typical Alexa Riley’s cupcake with glitter sprinkles. There’s an edge to the story and characters. They were harder and darker (by AR’s standard) and I love that. There was also some element of suspense.
But of course, don’t let that scare you. There’s always farting unicorn at the end of the rainbow haha!
Note:
This book would have get full 5 Golden Cocks if only the M/F/M letters is jumbled up a bit lol!

In the second installment of the Forced Submission series, we have Ridge, Hudson and Charlotte. Ridge and Hudson are incarcerated men and Charlotte is the visiting prison physician. For six months, Ridge and Hudson have been planning their takeover and when it occurs, it is hot. Charlotte’s body reacts to these men in such shameful ways, but it isn’t enough for her to stop the double pleasure.
At the end of these books, there is always a little twist and this was a good one. While it is a quickie read, it felt more primal hot than sexy hot. I will continue with this series to see what else Alexa Riley has to offer. ;D

DNF - 33%
The second installment in the Forced Submission series is only 48 pages long and I still dnf-ed it. That's how much I hated it.
In the first book of this series, it was clear the female character wanted (ugh! that sounds bad) it. But in this one, all I see is rape. A rape approved by those around the female character. A rape that was being videotaped.

Having read the previous novella in this series, I knew what to expect: consensual non-con, and I wasn’t disappointed. If that’s your jam, I would recommend this series.

I have to admit this book had me worried for a while I just couldn’t see where the sweet was going to come in and this author always gives us sweet.
It starts hard and dark and the rape scene felt like a rape whereas it hadn’t in the previous book.
Hudson and Ridge might be inmates but have planned and waited for six months and now it’s time to put their plan into action. They bribe the guards and get their one hour with the Doctor Charlotte.
This wasn’t my favourite book but I imagine I’d enjoy it more on a re-read.

Hmmmmm...
I feel kind of cheap giving this only three stars. It achieves what it sets out to do, and if this is what you're looking for I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
My problem is that dark books featuring scenes like this one are supposed to dial into the reader's fantasies, or at least that's my feeling. Knowing the whole thing is fake, which is the premise with this series, makes it too safe and robs the story of its steam.
If I want noncon/dubcon in my reading. I want it to be real, within the confines of the story of course.

Me parece que este libro es mi punto de quiebre con las autoras.
¿Por qué? Literalmente porque escribieron una escena de violación con la intención de romantizarlo y darle un «final feliz».
La historia va de Hudson y Ridge, dos reclusos que deciden ir a darle una visita a la doctora del recinto, Charlotte, con la finalidad de cumplir con una de sus fantasías. ¿La fantasía? Básicamente satisfacer sus necesidades sexuales con ella.
Una chica en twitter el otro día hablaba sobre como algunas veces los autores ponían en los trigger warnings “non-con” y decía que eso no podía ser, o era un acto consensuado por ambas partes, o directamente era una violación. Y debo de admitir que en su momento subestimé su argumento, pero justo leyendo esta historia pude razonar y entender su punto.
No me importa el año de publicación de esta historia. No me interesa el nombre de la serie. No me interesa si mi perspectiva es muy severa y estoy esperando mucho de una historia corta como esta.
Definitivamente no me pueden vender esto como un romance erótico, ni mucho menos como una dinámica de sumisión, cuando literal los dos personajes masculinos están abusando de la chica.
No seré una experta, pero para mí no puede ser esto una dinámica de sumisión debido a que no hay una charla previa entre los personajes, para fijar límites o el desenvolvimiento de la dinámica, no hay palabra de seguridad o algo que determine el límite de la persona que está siendo sometida. E incluso, si me quisieran vender una fantasía de la violación, tampoco tendría validez porque la misma protagonista dice después del acto y cito: “They raped me”.
Y no solo eso, sino que proceden a hacerle un examen de violación.
Por supuesto, hay que sumarle que la protagonista no para pedirles a los dos hombres que se detuvieran, una y otra vez. Así que el consentimiento dudoso dejó de estar sobre la mesa, directamente fue un abuso y no hay que romantizarlo.
Pero, ¿Qué hacen las autoras? Hacer que la protagonista diga al final que los ama y disfruta de toda la situación por arte de magia.
Sinceramente toda esta historia es un disgusto tremendo y no puedo tener ningún tipo de respeto por estas autoras que se atrevieron a tocar un tema sensible y ponerlo como algo romántico por entretenimiento.

June 17, 2016The series title, Forced Submission is not misleading; these are intense, erotic short stories written for the niche audience who enjoys rape fantasy and really course dirty talk that includes a lot of slut shaming and humiliation. The c-word for women is kind of a turn off for me, so I am not rating, but I think that my friends who enjoy that type of story will like this one. The writing is good and the plot and development are what you would expect in a story this short. I read the first two books, Taking What's Mine and Taking What's Ours and decided that these are not for me, but if those elements push all of your naughty buttons, you may enjoy Ms. Riley's Forced Submission series.

Alexa Riley knows how to make a super sexy read that makes you want to scream. There is something about the way these characters push the envelope in what we identify as just a touch more than taboo.
