He’s only ever had one weakness. Nathaniel Clarke has a secret. Before he became the owner of an occult bookshop on Bookseller’s Row, he was a prince of the kingdom of Paragon. Now the dragon shifter is the high priest of the Order of the Dragon, a society of the most powerful supernatural beings in London. He’s only ever had one weakness, and he hasn’t seen her in a decade.
She’s only ever been good at one thing. American pop singer Clarissa Black survived by singing on street corners before Nathaniel came into her life and unlocked the latent magic inside her. Despite their passionate affair, she refused Nathaniel’s proposal to pursue her music career. Her multi-platinum albums have made her a star but one with few people she can trust.
It only takes one spark to change two lives forever. When Clarissa’s voice fails her during a show in London, it’s an excuse to reconnect with the man who remains her deepest regret. Nathaniel is reluctant to open old wounds but can’t refuse Clarissa’s plea for help or the passion her nearness awakens in him. But as he closes in on breaking the curse, Nathaniel learns the cause of what ails her is tangled with the deadly past he left behind.

This is the fifth audiobook in the Treasure of Paragon romantic fantasy series. Each book focuses on one dragon sibling’s romance. However, the overall arc has me recommending you listen in the order of their release.
I love the world Jack has created and was so pleased she continued them in audio format. They are perfect for this, from the snark to the steamy romance. Laura Horowitz does a delightful job of capturing both Nathaniel and Clarissa’s personalities and emotional struggles. She does a brilliant villain and secondary voices as well for the siblings and other characters. All of which makes listening a must.
This story takes us to London and delivers a second chance romance as we meet Nathaniel Clarke, Paragon Prince, dragon and owner of an occult bookshop on Bookseller’s Row. I adored Nataniel from the start, from his mannerism to his style. Loved the pipe and the magic he used. This is a second chance romance, as he and his dragon once asked Clarissa to bond with them.
American pop singer & witch Clarissa Black loses her magic, that which enables her to bring forth magical notes in her concerts. She goes to the one person she trusts to help her…. Nathaniel.
I loved the witchy thread, and how Jack started us right where we left on in the last audiobook. Yikes. The suspense and overall series arc see huge strides and held me captive alongside the romance. We see other siblings, meet a new one and get hints of what is coming. I cannot wait to dive into Highland Dragon.
This book was as good as all the others. Can't wait for Dec 8 for the next one.... twists, action, commitment to character development, all while keeping a complex story going! Well done... started at 2am when I couldn't sleep, and when I finally was able to sleep, picked it up upon awakening and could not put it down. Thanks again!
Chapter 1 starts with a dungeon in Paragon, right where book 4 left us hanging. There is so much treachery, lies, danger, magic and mayhem. and oh yeah, one heck of a family reunion. While this is Nathaniel's book, and his love for Clarissa, we also learn more about Avery, Raven's sister, who is in book 6. Did anyone say highland clans!! Queen Eleanor is one very nasty mother who desperately wants her children dead or captured.
One of the reasons I read fantasy is to escape. A great book can change your perspective on so many levels, especially if the story sweeps you away. This book is just a wonderful read. It is romance, love, fear and longing. There are evil queens and dashing dragons. Wondrous world's of fairies, oracles and brilliant witches. Add to that Jack's fun, witty writing style and you end up with a really enjoyable story. For the most part this takes place in England. Nathaniel's an English gentleman, occult shop owner and our dragon. Clarissa is the American pop star, a witch cursed without her magic. There's no one she can trust, so Clarissa must return to the dragon who's love she once spurned. Here begins the 5th book of The treasure of Paragon series. Ideally reading the series from the beginning would be the most gratifying but you could read this as a stand alone. I have read the whole series so far and personally think knowing all the characters adds a flavor you would loose otherwise.
I received an ARC of this book for my honest opinion. My thoughts are my own and not influenced by any thing else.
This series is one of my favorite. Besides the actual dragons and magic, the actual relationships and struggles of Nathaniel and Clarissa and the rest of the characters is what keeps me reading this series. Absolutely intriguing and captivating.
Amazing as always. Definit twists and truns. One of my favorites. Cant wait for the next book to come out. So excited 😁 definitely will recommend this one.
The magic continues. I can’t wait for the bad guy to be no more and for the heroes and heroines to win. Well, I can only presume that’s the direction we are heading! When writing about siblings and there being 8 of them….we have a few more conflicts before a happily ever after can come along.
This book is Nathaniel’s and Clarissa’s story. Told from both the main character’s viewpoints, this one starts in London. Nathaniel, more than 300 years old, is an Occult items seller. He’d found his fated mate, who is a witch, over 10 years ago, but she wanted her career. While she is performing a private concert in London, she loses the magical part of her singing voice. She asks Nathaniel for help, and the story goes from there. Well written, and compelling, I did not want to stop reading. How does Clarissa tie into the other witches? What is happening to Gabriel, Tobias and Raven? Do Alexander, Maiara, Rowen, Nick, and Avery have a chance at a rescue? So many questions, and so few answers. But The Dragon of Cecil Court has some, and sets the stage for Book 6. I love this series, and Genevieve Jack has another winner with this one! Read the first 4 books for the best experience. And know that each book is outstanding. *I received an ARC from Genevieve Jack thru BookFunnel so I could write this review. This is my honest opinion.
Catch a shining star I love how this author continues to keep me intrigued with this entire series. I am already anxiously anticipating the next book and I have only just finished this one. Her characters are amazing, the way they interact and the way she slowly reveals their importance to her overreaching storyline just make them that more endearing. This is not a one and done kind of book. While you can certainly read it alone, to get the full effect and be prepared for whatever the author brings us next, you really should start from the beginning, with the couple that started it all. This book was particularly moving for me because poor Nathaniel got left behind in the glamour and glitz of Clarissa’s stardom. I was so happy when he finally got the connection that he deserved. This book is one of those ones that you may close the cover, but you don’t leave the story for a long time later. I can’t wait this talented author brings to this series next.
I can always rely on the Treasures of Paragon to whisk me away into a compelling adventure.
As most of us know, 2020 has been an intense eight months so far. So much so, I can barely bring myself to read, yet alone enjoy what I’m reading. Twice now, Genevieve Jack has managed to help me escape for just a few hours. Her dragons are strong, sexy, protective and in this series it’s not just about the loves they find, but a family reunion that gets bigger with each new release. And the fate of their world relies on them joining together and going up against a foe they once loved dearly.
With Magic and Love...they’ve got this.
I’ve already preordered book 6. December can’t get here soon enough.
This was just as awesome as the previous books in the series. I read this book in one sitting and I enjoyed every twist, turns and action packed into this story. I am very super excited for the next installment.
I would also suggest reading the series in order because 1. it is satisfying. 2. because I think they all intertwin with one another, but then again they could be read as standalones.
My complaints are the same: almost no time is spent on the romance. So little time that I didn't believe it at all, because it hinged on past events we didn't see.
This is absolutely not a standalone. You HAVE to read every single other book for this one to make any sort of sense.
This is the fifth book in the Treasures of Paragon series by Genevieve Jack.
This is the story where we realize how important the three Tanglewood sisters are to the whole scheme of things. There are three sisters here who don’t know they are sister and their bond is broken by Dragon Queen Eleanor in order to keep the prophecy from coming true about the child of a dragon and a witch brining down the throne in Paragon. I have to admit this evil queen is quite a piece of work. She has made it her mission to ruin her children’s lives. Makes me wonder why she ever had so many if she had such aspirations about taking over control of the realm.
This book features Clarissa, an American pop singer, who has a past with Nathanial but thought her career was more important than love and left him ten years earlier to build her career. Now she is a big success and the evil queen has broken the bond between the sisters which has counteracted their magic and now none of them have magical abilities. This really effects Raven too but she is on a secondary storyline taking place in Paragon. This story does jump around a lot but I discovered that the author made it easy to transition from one setting to another without confusing us in the process.
I love how the characters from the previous books are all in the next book which gives this series a ton of richness as the ultimate story unfolds from book to book.
This is definitely a series I will continue to follow.
Overall it is one great read. This series is amazing. Check it out.
If you love a good paranormal romance mystery, definitely check this one out.
This is the 5th installment in the Treasure of Paragon series. OK, this is the best one yet. Seems that every time I read another book in the series, it's the best one, but this....wow. I love the dragon magic, the story, the ongoing saga of the egg, now called "Lil' Puff" - but what really hit this out of the park was the detail in the Puck ritual performed to try to get Clarissa's magic back, and, well, it was super hot! The narrative including the descriptions of the surroundings was done very well, could almost taste that blood orange :) The detail of the Obsidian Palace in Paragon was almost as if you might be standing on the black obsidian floors - If you haven't had a chance to read the beginning of the series, you might want to start there. This might be ok as a stand-alone, but the character development in the earlier books is important. Sit back, enjoy the read - and be kind to yourself!
Book 5 of The Dragons of Paragon moves the story from the United States to Europe, starting in London. Here we meet Nathaniel, the only dragon of the siblings that can perform magic (that was a nice touch!). What I like about this book is, not only how the siblings come together to defy the empress, but also how it. develops the story of the Three Sisters (Raven, Clarissa and Avery). Neither story takes more importance than the other. Ms. Jack weaves them like strands on a loom. While we learn about Nathaniel's and Clarissa's love story (which by the way, it was beautiful), the plot advances incredibly well and set the stage for book 6, Highland Dragon. Like another reviewer said, I would highly recommend you read books 1-4 to enjoy the tale. Well done, Ms. Jack!
I love this series so much! The storyline of the dragons of Paragon is so rich and diverse, the writing is just astounding in its entertainment. I cannot wait for the next installment and have already preordered Highland Dragon. The great fight of good versus evil is always a huge draw and ever has been. Every time I read one of these books, I think I’ve found my new favorite, as they just get better and better!
This is book 5 in a Dragon Shifter Romance, there are also Vampires and Witches and I am really enjoying this series. It has danger and smutty scenes that are all really interesting. I like the story line with all of the Dragon siblings and how each one adds to the complexity of the story
This an awesome addition to this series. Can't wait for next book. This series so different then the regular Dragon series books. There characters are a breath of fresh air. A must read series of you like dragons witches an other paranormals
This was a great addition the the series. It was fast pace and had lots of plot twist. I really liked how the author tied the story together so that the transition to this book was seamless. It is a great read and I loved it!!
Another awesome installment by an author at the top of her game. As always, I was swept away by the imaginative storyline and fantastic world building!
Loved this book and all the previous ones. The more you read the more the mystery deepens about why the siblings were exiled from paragon. This series combines different species of paranormal, romance and even a bit of comedy. Can't wait for the next installment.
Another brilliant read. I loved the setting and that the story included Avery too. The tension between Nat and Clarissa was perfectly written and the plot fast paced and exciting.
Could not put my kindle down. Such an amazing book, the series is by far my favorite for 2020. If only I could get my grubby hands on the next book in the series.
Another great story. Another mated pair and another sibling found. It's going to take all the siblings to defeat their evil mother and to save Paragon. Each book is better than the last and the emotions that are written in each story feel so real. I can't wait to start the next one to see which sibling is found and if Avery gets her powers.
Another fantastic book in this series! This time, we meet Nathaniel, a dragon bookseller who dabbles in witchcraft on the side. Quite by accident, his sister Rowan, and Raven's sister, Avery wind up in London and contact an acquaintance of Nate's regarding an old manuscript of dragon lore. The acquaintance tips off Nate, not because he knows their link, but because Avery bears a strong resemblance to Nate's ex-girlfriend, Clarissa, a pop star who uses her magic to enhance her voice. Meanwhile, Raven, Gabriel and Tobias are imprisoned in Paragon and trying to figure out the Empress's plan for them all. Some loose threads I'm hopeful will be tied up neatly as the series goes along. And I'm thrilled to see Avery finally growing as a character. Can't wait for Book 6.
