Cynthia St. Aubin

USA Today bestselling author Cynthia St. Aubin wrote her first play at age eight and made her brothers perform it for the admission price of gum wrappers. A steal, considering she provided the wrappers in advance. Though her early work debuted to mixed reviews, she never quite gave up on the writing thing, even while earning a mostly useless master's degree in art history and taking her turn as a cube monkey in the corporate warren.

Because the voices in her head kept talking to her, and they discourage drinking at work, she started writing instead. When she's not standing in front of the fridge eating cheese, she's hard at work figuring out which mythological, art historical, or paranormal friends to play with next. She lives in Colorado with the love of her life and three surly cats.

I did not expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. I picked it up at Wal Mart with barely a glance at the blurb and started it as a light pool read…. But once I picked it up I could not put it down. The author Cynthia St. Aubin crafted a plot and characters that had me doing the “one more chapter” routine every time I gave myself a little break to read!

The blurb makes you feel like you know what is going on, but you don’t and as the secrets unfold you realize you have walked into a second chance romance at its very best!

Loved it and could read it again. I was so ready to read Mason’s story and am beyond bummed it isn’t out until August!!!

I enjoyed this light and sexy office romance/second chance at love with a tinge of love unrequited.
A+ female friendship with snippy dialogues and tasty lovemaking scenes! I'll never tire of these poor injured (baby) heroes who need help showering or disrobing because of their painful and disabling injuries but suddenly regain all body control and energy as soon as a smidge of sexual current tickles their nose. lol

The perfect little Harlequin romance! It's been a minute since I've read a harlequin and now I remember why I was obsessed with them in my younger years. This one reminded me a bit of the movie Sabrina, but with some differences. I loved the tension and past history between our main characters.

Sizzling second chance romance

A second chance romance with an extra dash of drama? Sign me up! This book hit all the right notes. I loved the sizzling tension between main characters Arlington (Arlie) and Samuel and in true Cynthia St. Audubon fashion, golden nuggets of humor. Not only was this book wonderfully written but a solid cast a side characters were introduced who will comprise the next installments. Would highly recommend! This book is for anyone looking for their next read to have a little extra kick.
I received this book from the publisher/author at no cost to me and volunteered to read it; my review is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher.

Cynthia for the win again for me.
I’ve read all the words that she has written and sent out into the cosmos.
This was such a nice relaxing read in a rainy day.
The 3 main characters are all well developed.
I love that Arlie doesn’t come into it being the squeaky clean heroine that most people write.
Samuel and Mason are about as polar opposite as you can get for being twins.
I highly dislike spoilers of any kind in a review. What I will tell you is this. The book is very well written, the characters and world is thought out and complete.
The steamy parts are well, steamy. Lol
I look forward to reading about Mason in the next book, he’s got that bad boy energy I’m a sucker for.
Happy ending, happy reader, I hope happy author! Well done!

Sexy, sweet, with just the right dose of tension, this story will suck you in and you won't want to put it down. Samuel and Arlie have chemistry off the charts. I loved reading their fumble filled journey. You also get a glimpse of the other Kane siblings that will have you anxiously awaiting their books. This book reminded me why Harlequin books used to be a staple in my library and why they will be again. I loved it!

"Corner Office Confessions" is book one in "The Kane Heirs" series by Cynthia St. Aubin. It was a very enjoyable read, and it was great getting to know the characters. Arlie gets fired from her job and ends up back home and applying for a job at Kane's company. She hasn't seen Samuel or Mason since she graduated high school. Samuel and Mason are twins, and Samuel wants to use Arlie to try and get his brother in trouble so he can get the family company. The only thing is that Samuel has been hiding his feelings for Arlie, and his plan isn't working out as planned. I really liked Arlie's character and how she handled the different situations she was in. My favorite part of this story is when Mason and Arlie are trying to make Samuel jealous. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series as it is Mason's story.

Cynthia St. Aubin is one of those authors that are an instabuy for me. She never fails to deliver a great story, great characters, great humor, and always always lots of delicious cheese.

Corner Office Confessions is a second chance romance following Samuel Kane and Arlington aka Arlie. Their chemistry is off the charts making the book sweet and spicy. 🌶🌶🌶

The side characters are also written really well and I hope to see a lot more of them in future installments. Mason Kane's book is going to be amazing, I just know it!

This was a very enjoyable read, I highly recommend it along with the rest of Cynthia's books!

Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for allowing me to give my thoughts on this book. : @HarlequinBooks @HarlequinPublicityTeam @Cynthia St.Aubin

This is an office romance that involves Three main characters,
the instigator in the scenario - CEO Samuel Kane
the unwitting lady who is our female main character - Arlington Banks (Arlie)
and finally the final pawn in the triangle Mason Kane, Playboy and twin brother to Samuel.

Samuel comes across as being an uptight petty brother who is fed up with his father who is constantly letting his playboy brother get away with his dalliances and ineffectual business ethic. He is fed up with never having his father praise him for his hard work and diligence.
Mason was as you expected - at first, but by the end of the story, you realise he is more than just his reputation.
Arlie, well she was the housekeeper's daughter who secretly pined for Samuel as a girl, who managed to create herself a good career, but was unwittingly caught up in corporate espionage and has no choice but to accept the job offered by Samuel if she wants to keep a roof over her head. She knows it's going to be hard with her past feelings, but she's hopeful... until she realises there's more to this position that Samuel let on.
The story unfolds and the past and present collide with all 3 of the characters involved realising they had made assumptions
Samuel was enamored by Arlie as a boy and this soon turns into a comedy of errors and missed opportunities to come clean to the girl that has always had his heart.

I enjoyed this book and by the end of the story, I was happy that Samuel grew up enough to realise what was important in life. Mason was a character I ended up enjoying just as much and I hope that there is a further book about him - and Charllotte.

Cynthia St. Aubin blends humor, drama, passion and sensuality in her Harlequin Desire debut, Corner Office Confessions.

CEO Samuel Kane will do whatever it takes to oust his twin brother from the billion-dollar family food empire. Knowing that the best way to get rid of his twin is to put temptation in his path, Samuel hires a woman his brother has always desired and chased but who had never succumbed to him: Arlington Banks. Samuel thinks that his plan is foolproof – only he never imagined that he would find himself falling for Arlington himself!

Having been thrust in close proximity together, sparks begin to fly between Arlie and Samuel from the second they clap eyes on one another. Having had a simmering history of their own, resisting temptation soon proves easier said than done, but Samuel knows that he must erect a wall around his heart and keep Arlie at arm’s length because giving into his attraction to her would mean breaking his father’s cardinal rule to never mix business with pleasure!

With so much at stake and everything to lose, Samuel and Arlie find themselves forced to make an impossible choice. Does their love stand any chance of surviving when the odds are stacked against them? Will secrets, lies and deceptions end up tearing them apart for good? Or is their relationship just meant to be?

Cynthia St. Aubin’s Corner Office Confessions is a terrific category romance I couldn’t bear to put down. Cythia St. Aubin’s terrific debut is full of heat and heart and will have readers cheering on strong and sassy Arlie and sexy and charismatic Samuel.

Witty, intense and emotional, Corner Office Confessions heralds the arrival of an exciting new voice for category romance and Harlequin Desire fans: Cynthia St. Aubin.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cynthia St Aubin is truly one of the most talented writers that I have had the pleasure of reading. She has a way of pulling you in from the very first page and showing you a world that you didn’t think you could imagine.
Ok, that last part might just be me. I have a hard time “seeing” things when I read. When I read Cynthia’s books, I can easily visualize what is going on.
There were quite a few times where I put down the book, turned to my husband and said “you ready?” He is now also a fan of her writing for his own reasons without even picking up a book.
Besides the spicy scenes, which were amazing, this book is well put together. The plot is thought out and the characters are amazing. I felt a connection to Mason most of all. I could feel from the beginning that there was more to him than he let on. I am sooo excited for his book!
There were some parts that were hard for me to read. The sibling and parent relationships in this book hit pretty close to home for me. I have a very similar relationship with my father that Samuel does with his father. I got emotional during parts of the book, that I’m sure some people breeze right through and don’t think twice about.
I cannot wait for the next installment!!!!!

This book, the first in The Kane Heirs series, has A LOT to deal. Secrets, rivalry, a insensitive patriarch, lies, betrayal, corporate espionage, blackmail… Do I have to continue?

Curiously, all those topics doesn’t overload the story. The romantic side of the book is always the center of all. Arlie and Samuel’s love is real and believable. Such an intense couple, their chemistry is off the charts. At the same time, we could see some tenderness between them. I really loved Arlie and Samuel, especially because their personalities match perfectly. One of those couples made in writing heaven.

Another thing that I liked about this book is the family dynamics. From Parker “the patriarch” Kane’s favoritism towards Mason over Samuel, creating some kind of subtle rift between the twins, to the ties between Parker and Arlie’s deceased mother, which adds more tension to the plot.

With a lot in hand, Ms. Aubin manages to create a balanced story with funny quotes and clever scenes that didn’t lose its intensity. A bit childish some specific scene (they aren’t eighteen anymore!), but my first book from this author—the first Harlequin Desire book for Ms. Aubin—was a great experience.

When brother Samuel Kane sets his brother Mason up so that he violates their father’s cardinal business rule, he uses someone they both know, Arlington Banks. They grew up together but hadn’t seen each other since the boys’ father fired Arli’s mother.
The only problem though is his reaction when Arli comes in the office. Will Samuel be able to keep his hands off Arli himself, or will he be the one who breaks the cardinal rule and lose the company he’s always fought so hard for?
Ms. St. Aubin has written such a wonderful story, I couldn’t put it down, I didn’t want to leave Samuel, Mason, and Arlie. The writing sucks you in, and the story line keeps you staring at the pages long past your bedtime, well at least it did me. You root for Samuel and Arlie, but I’ll admit, there were times I thought that Samuel was an *sshole for the way he was treating Arlie, putting her in the middle, between him and his lazy brother.
If you love great contemporary romances, you’ll want to read Corner Office Confessions by Ms. St. Aubin.
I received a paperback copy from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Secretly reading my mom's old Harlequin novels in high school were my gateway into the romance genre, and it was lovely to go back to a shorter, simpler romance. Well, simpler might not be the right word in this case.

Twins Samuel and Mason both had a crush on Arlie Banks in high school, but nothing ever came of it for either twin. Years later, both men hold positions of power within their father's company. However, rule following, hardworking CEO Samuel wants to get rid of lazy CMO Mason. His plan is to hire Arlie and set Mason up to break one of their father's strictest rules - no sleeping with employees. What better way to get Mason to cave than bring back a blast from the past, the one that got away? Confusion and drama ensue, but our true lovebirds get their happily ever after.

Cynthia St. Aubin is a fabulous writer that can bring characters to life without dragging the pace down. She set up a realistic world that's easy to picture, and makes the reader fall in love on page one.

I was given a free copy of this book and am freely leaving this review.

This is Cynthia St. Aubin's Harlequin Desire debut. I knew I had to step back into the Desire line for this author. She's an awesome author and she did a bang up job with her debut. I just gobbled up this book. I couldn't put it down. There was plenty of scandal and intrigue. Samuel and Arlie have a history starting in their childhood. In this one what you see isn't the whole picture. There is more than meets the eye with the Kane twins. There is so much more to Samuel than his straight laced rule following ways especially when it comes to Arlie. I can't wait for Mason's book because I can feel there is so much more to that man. It's going to be one heck of a ride. Back to Samuel and Arlie. Arlie touched my heart because life is giving her one blow after another. She needs some luck to go her way. She gets way more than she bargained for accepting a job with the Kane family empire. Great read that has me looking forward to the next book.

A second chance romance with a fairy tale vibe. Arlington (great name) has a history with the Kane family, her mother was their chef and Arlie attended school with the siblings. Some personal stuff went down years ago and it seems the Kane patriarch refuses to forget it. Samuel was a shy kid, highly intelligent, and a bit jealous of his brother. Mason is more of the Casanova among the twins. A situation brings everyone back together again, which means secrets revealed and more secrets created. I really enjoyed Arlie’s personality, she’s sassy and smart and willing to be led by her heart occasionally. The brothers have an interesting dynamic that was fun to read as it unfolded and the reason exposed. Mason’s book should be equally entertaining. I was given a copy by the author and wrote my review freely.

Deception and Secrets kicks off this series in The Kane Heirs. In order to get rid of his twin brother Samuel Kane has a plan this is where Arlie Banks enters, he wants to use her to set up his brother Mason to fall for her violating the company policy and their father's cardinal rule. Even though Samuel really wants Arlie for himself. Great start to the series looking forward to Mason's story I got a pretty good idea who his lady love will be.

I was lucky enough to have received a copy from the Author in exchange for an honest review, which I am more than happy to provide.
I have been a fan of Cynthia St Aubin for many years and I could not wait to get started on the book and pretty much devour it. I liked the characters and the storyline, it had great pacing, some steamy love scenes and sexual tension between our love birds. The perfect summer read. Well also perfect for a rainy weekend or pretty much anytime.

First-time read by this author. The book was good. I enjoyed the dynamics of Simon and Mason. The twins who really don't get along. Arlie grew up with the boys. Her mom was the families cook! Arlie always had it bad for Simon and the same for Simon but they went separate ways! Arlie comes looking for a job at Kane Industries! The boys father hates Arlie! But when Simon finds that out before to Arlie and things get heated! Will they end up together or will his father pull them apart?

Another great read from this author! The characters are awesome (well not the ones you want to smack), the storyline keeps you hooked, it's everything you expect from the author. It's an office, 2nd chance romance with a wonderful bestie (would love for her to get a story), sexy twins, more. I can't wait for Mason's story! A definite must read!

Not so unrequited love? Arlie always assumed she was never enough especially with recent events in her life, but maybe this is her chance to make things right. But not everything was left in that closet from the past and now someone (definitely not her) has some explaining to do lol.
