Loved this book. Even though I didn’t read the first two books, I really enjoyed James and Morgan’s story. I love all the side characters so I’ll go back and read the others. I usually like Ginger Scott’s books. And this was no exception. She creates relatable and endearing characters and stories that grab you by the heartstrings. I enjoyed the ride very much.

This series has been funny, I pick the book up and I can't remember anything about the previous books or characters and then before I've even finished the first chapter it all comes flooding back. And I completely love that they are all told at the same time as each of their own perspectives, with each of their own things. Yet we still got to see the other couples at key moments.
Morgan and James don't seem like they should work on paper. But then as you dig beneath the perfect ice queen veneer you see that James is the perfect person to bring out her real. Although he had a few "dumb teenage boy" moments where I really needed him to give better grovel. He was a genuinely good and caring guy with his feet firmly on the ground.
I really enjoyed the story. And even though it was told in dual point of view Morgan was the star of the story for me. Watching her come through everything and get her confidence and self-worth back was beautiful. There were a few things I would have liked to see closed out a little more or differently or I don't even know, I think I just want more.

The third book in the Boys of Welles series was another emotional story that had me invested from the start. We have been given glimpses of James and Morgan in the previous books and now we get to find out more about them. I enjoyed getting to see the vulnerable girl behind the social media darling persona. James is the new guy trying to fit in with the team whilst dealing with his father's expectations. The relationship between James and his dad who is also his coach is explored further and I liked their commitment to each other and their shared goals. It was fun to see the group again and see events from a different perspective and how they continue to affect everyone. One of my favourite things about the couples in this series is that they go all in and support each other against anyone trying to hurt them. The passion between them was written perfectly but it was the deep connection and their personal growth I enjoyed the most.

I hate criticizing books & I am sorry in advance but I did receive an arc for an honest review so here we go. (Ginger please don’t hate me)
Honestly I feel like Habit should have been the second book written or thrown in with the other two books & this one kept out completely. It felt like it went over a lot of what had already happened in the first two books but before the previous couples figured out their stuff. I found this one lacking. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Ginger Scott, I DEVOURED the other Welles’ boy’s books but this one felt rushed, with not much story line, sprinkled with a couple s3x scenes thrown in. The kind of book that felt like it was more of an afterthought or space filler. I didn’t really feel the connection between James & Morgan. Their obstacles they had to overcome seemed minor compared to the other two books in this series.
I definitely recommend this series & encourage you to read it and form your own opinion!

Overall, this was a great read.
"I think Morgan Bentley isn't a distraction but rather a complicated girl with a lot of good in her heart, and one I'd really like to get to know."
James Fuentes is the new QB contender at Welles. He's there by virtue of his father being the new football coach. He has deeply personal ambitions to fulfil and his one clear route is aiming for a place at a D1 university. However, obstacles and distractions litter his path, not least the hostile existing QB. And, then, there's the wealthy social media influencer, Morgan Bentley.
"Your soul's perfect, James Fuentes. F*cking perfect."
Morgan is dealing with her own demons. She's hiding from her social media, her relationship with her parents is fractured and unhealthy, and she's struggling with her mental health. James affects her like no one else before because he sees the real Morgan beyond her public façade.
"My dad sees you as a distraction. I see you as a necessity."
So, I found this story a little slow in places but, in others, it was beautiful and heartfelt. James and Morgan were young people with a lot on their shoulders. James had a lot of pressure to step up and perform well in order to follow his dreams. His dad was tough on him because there was a lot at stake, but they had a loving family. Morgan's relationship with her parents was completely dysfunctional. She was a girl crying out for some true parental support and love, and previously found adoration through her social media platform. However, there's a dark side to social media and, following the tragic accident that is the back story to all three books in this series, she had to deal with depression and anxiety. These two, who had nothing really in common, had instant attraction and found a real connection, too. For all her sophistication, it was cute how awkward Morgan felt in her early interactions with James, but I loved how they gradually found a safe place to fall with one another and that they were a balm to each other's soul.

Here I sit in a book coma, still swooning over The Book of Welles trilogy that continues to slay. Habit held me and my heart captive the whole time reading where I lived, breathed, and bled for this book. I fell for this young adult romance of two soulmates who battle the past and perception to be their best selves.
The final tale in the Welles world is a fierce fusion of sports, opposites attract, and young adult romance. Habit is a crush-worthy saga of perception and power that shines a spotlight on beauty and bravery as two teens navigate a world of constant pressure while falling in love. James is the hot football quarterback with a big heart, and oh did I crush on him hard. Morgan is the beautiful bright, business savvy social media sensation whose pressure and pain I felt too. I loved the way this hero and heroine are always there for each other. Theirs is a friendship on fire with an undeniable connection that explodes through the pages.
Habit is more than a young adult romance and sports sensation. This book brings to light tough topics like stereotypes and anxiety, and the pressure to be perfect. Habit is Ginger Scott’s latest installation of The Boys of Welles series. Ms. Scott is one of my favorite young-adult authors and I find her work consistently compelling. Habit continues to explore the aftermath of a tragic accident for the teens who survived.
Morgan Bently might seem like she lives the perfect life, but being a social media maven from a wealthy family doesn’t guarantee that you lead the perfect life. Afterall, you can’t believe everything you see on the internet. James, the football coach’s son and talented quarterback, needs a win to cement his future. His dream to resurrect the family business requires an education and, for him, that requires a scholarship. That doesn’t seem too unusual, but Ms. Scott develops her characters’ stories in such a way that I cannot help caring about the outcome. The ordinary becomes extraordinary.
The cast of the series stays much the same, however, each of the books explores the life of one of girls who survived an automobile accident (at the start of the series). Included along the way are typical teenaged antics along with a bright spotlight on mental health as well as the normal delicate state of young adults making their way from childhood to becoming an adult.
The Boys of Welles is at times fun and romantic, but overall it is a story of recovery, moving forward and growth. Well done, Ms. Scott!

I’m going to miss these Welles characters!
Having met Lily and Brooklyn we now get the chance to know Morgan, the third friend who experienced the unimaginable pain and loss from their horrific accident.
Morgan is much more guarded and appears to be more aloof than the other two. She is very much poised and on point. However, the accident has changed something in Morgan, realigned her priorities and forced her to focus on herself. I was so pleased to read her growth and journey back to loving herself and taking control of her own life path.
James is new to the school and doesn’t understand the private school politics, he hasn’t got the time, money, nor inclination to get sucked into the rich family infighting and fat wallet waving that seems to go on. All in order for these students to get where there parents want them to be. He is determined and training hard to get there under his own steam and raw talent.
These two are made for each other…it takes a while but gradually trust is earned and Morgan finally finds someone she can share her true self with, and who loves her even more for it. James has someone of his own to care about, someone who challenges him and forces him to realise how amazing his own family is and how genuine and rewarding his own path to success is.
Lovely connections within the friend group and some real hard hitting messages about finding the right people for you and trusting them to see you for yourself. Those are the people whose opinions we should really care about and never mind all the other outside noise!

Habit is the third book in The Boys of Welles, but it can totally be read as a standalone if you haven't yet started this series. And if you're a fan of steamy, heartwarming YA romance, then you definitely want to read this series.
Morgan Bentley has been an influencer for most of her life. Born into a wealthy business family, she knows nothing else. Now, Morgan wants more than the attention of the masses. She wants the attention of just one person, James Fuentes. James is the new coach's son and he's on track to be the best quarterback that Welles has ever seen, but he faces a lot of hurdles on his way to the top. James is also easily distracted, and Morgan is the best distraction that he's found in awhile.
I have read the other books in this series, and I love how these stories are all interconnected even though they can stand alone. The timelines overlap for each book so you get to see events that took place earlier from a fresh perspective. I was intrigued by James and Morgan's story from the other books, and it definitely lived up to my hopes. Morgan has so much more depth than I expected and James...I adored James. There is a bit of angst, plenty of steam, and some heartbreaking and heartwarming moments that kept me turning the pages.

James has plans for the future but for that to happen he needs to prove his skills on the football field. He finds himself not wanting to disappoint his father, who is also his coach, and proving to everyone else that he deserves to be there based on his talent and not on who he knows. Staying focused is the key but Morgan is a complication he wasn’t expecting.
Morgan was raised in an affluent lifestyle and has created quite the following on social media. A tragic event has her taking a step back as she tries to deal with all that has happened and decide what the future holds. She is struggling and she never expected that her biggest support system would be James.
At first glance James and Morgan couldn’t be more different from their lifestyles or the challenges they are facing. It was wonderful to see them open up their lives and hearts to each other and find the love and understanding they both deserve.

This is Book 3 in the Boys of Welles series. It can be read as a standalone. I did not read the others first, but I will definitely go back for them. I really enjoyed this one.
James is the new star QB for Welles Academy. He is the coaches son and has a lot to prove to his new team. When he meets the school’s famous TikTok star, Morgan, there’s an immediate attraction on both sides. At first, it’s all just physical, but they quickly begin to fall for one another. James is fighting for his spot at QB1, while Morgan struggles with the aftermath of a tragic accident; and they find comfort in trusting one another. When their relationship is tested by unapproving family members and a particularly douchey teammate, they have to decide if their feelings for each other are worth the backlash.
This book wasn’t quite as spicy as some of the others I’ve read, but it was really sweet and had a lot of funny parts. I definitely recommend it!

What a great story!
James and Morgan's story was a slow burn, friends to lovers, angsty and emotionally intense read.
Full of want, heart, hurt, and betrayal—they had their work cut out for them.
The closer they seemed to get emotionally, the harder their circumstances seemed to tear them apart.
I really enjoyed learning about Morgan. Despite her brash, chess-like upbringing, there was an open and honest quality about her that I couldn't help but admire.
James had his own demons—his own challenges, which also meant he lost the girl—but he fought hard to win Morgan back and prove his feelings.
An interesting book that brings to light the negative impacts that social media can play in our lives. And a very real reminder that we should spread kindness rather than negativity online.

Full of want, heart, hurt, and betrayal—they had their work cut out for them.
The closer they seemed to get emotionally, the harder their circumstances seemed to tear them apart.
I really enjoyed learning about Morgan. Despite her brash, chess-like upbringing, there was an open and honest quality about her that I couldn't help but admire.
James had his own demons—his own challenges, which also meant he lost the girl—but he fought hard to win Morgan back and prove his feelings.
An interesting book that brings to light the negative impacts that social media can play in our lives. And a very real reminder that we should spread kindness rather than negativity online.

I have been looking forward to Morgsn and James' story so much and this did not let me down! At all! There is so much to love about the characters and how the story us told, not least of which is the timeliness. Through this we are able to experience events and characters high we have already viewed, but are now privy to insights and perspectives denied previously. This worked so well. The fall out of the loss if Anika continues to ripple around our leads and their significant others. She remains a tangible positive presence.
Morgan's life, on the outside, seems well out together and emotionally stable, but we learn so much more about her, discovering a highly intelligent, well organised, courageous and loyal young woman. James is dedicated, skilled and equally loyal,to family and new friends. I loved how they built each other up and took care of each other.

Like every single one of Ginger Scott's books, Habit (the third book in the Boys of Welles series) sucked me in from the beginning and didn't let go. I fell in love with James and Morgan in the first book in the series, wondered what the thing was that kept them apart, and grew more attached to them in Book 2. By the time I read Habit I could hardly contain myself with curiosity. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Ginger always, always gives her characters deep emotional stories. You just want to grab hold of these characters and give them a hug. Let them know that she promises to fix all their problems by the end of the story. Spoiler: I'm usually messaging her throughout the book to make sure she's going to fix it and *I'm* going to be all right lol. Habit is a mature coming of age story that I highly recommend. It can be read as a standalone, though why wouldn't you want to read the whole series?

James and Morgan's story is fiercely emotional and brutally genuine. That means you had best expect the avalanche of feels that is heading your way. My heart truly ached for these two. Their story quickly captured my attention and held it easily with a combination of drama and emotion that I found potent and moving. This was another excellent entry for this series. I am independently posting an impartial review.

A great book and a solid end to the series!
I love Morgan and James. They’re such strong, multi dimensional characters and I love how they open up to each other.
I also like the way this story unfolds, including a little bit more spice than the other books in the series.
This was a little bit of a different direction for Ginger and I love it! Her characters feel real, and authentic and i’m here for it!

Habit (the third book in the Boys of Welles series) sucked me in from the beginning and didn't let go. I fell in love with James and Morgan in the first book in the series, wondered what the thing was that kept them apart, and grew more attached to them in Book 2, so I was so excited to get their book in the third installment in this series. My heart truly ached for these two.

Oh wow, the angst is real in this forbidden storyline. James and Morgan’s chemistry is undeniable. The push and pull will capture your attention and hold it throughout. It’s definitely worth the read.

This is a must read! All of these books in this series are remarkable! You can visualize the characters and see the story vividly as it unfolds! And, the reader will fall in love with Morgan and James. It’s another stellar Ginger Scott novel that I highly recommend.

Well it seems that Ginger Scott saved the best for last with Habit. A book that is touching and heartfelt as we get Morgan and James's story as the finale for this well-crafted trilogy. Coming from vastly different worlds, the rich influencer and the hard-working new quarterback surely turn Welles Academy on it's proverbial ear as they find an attraction that could very well be each other's downfall. But their chemistry can't be beat as they become the tether needed to beat back their inner doubts once and for all.
As I read the acknowledgements and author's notes, there is no question Scott put her all into this book and made it a bit more personal. With a sweet poignancy as both James and Morgan struggle with rumors and nasty classmates, not to mention harsh family members, I couldn't help but feel a bit protective of this couple which only made my reading experience that much richer.
Many of my lingering questions wrt what actually happened with Morgan and the former coach were answered and my heart broke for how she continues to have to navigate her complicated life alone. James truly transferred to Welles at the right time, kismet or perhaps a guardian angel clearly playing a role in allowing these two to find love when they needed it most.
Scott uses the same time-line and we get yet another view of what has happened since Anika left her crew's side. I love how this tight knit group continues to be there for one another and that is never more evident than in this wonderful book.
With the right amount of steam, humor and support, Habit is exactly what I needed to say goodbye to these incredible characters. I'd like to think that Anika would be smiling huge getting to see her besties find the loves of their lives and you never know, maybe she had a hand in that very thing. The third and final book in the Boys of Welles series, this is a mature YA forbidden-ish, opposites-attract, sports romance, and a gorgeous story about figuring yourself out and fighting to be who and where you want to be.
James and Morgan have had something going on in the background of the last two books, and I was so excited to finally get their story. The timeline of this book is the same as the previous two books of the series, and I enjoyed the character crossover. And while you could read this as a standalone, be aware that there are some minor spoilers.
Like the majority of students at exclusive Welles Academy, Morgan is from a wealthy family, but her home life is not a happy one. Things got worse when she became a well-known influencer, and her father started using her fame for his own business purposes. But since the death of one of her best friends, Morgan has retreated from the spotlight while she tries to figure out who she really is and what she wants from her life.
James is new to Welles, starting at the school when his Dad took on the role of football coach. It’s a world away from pubic school, and James know he has to prove himself on the football field if he’s ever to be taken seriously. He’s a damn good quarterback, but the inevitable rumours about favouritism have him out to prove himself so that he can get the scholarship he so desperately wants. Football is his life. Until Morgan comes along.
James and Morgan are attracted to each other from the very beginning. It’s a crush at first, a fun flirtation, but it soon turns becomes so much more, they become each other’s ‘person’ – the one that they turn to, talk to, and lean on. And they need that so much.
Two kids who seemingly have it all, actually don’t, and they’re struggling. Morgan’s life has been a constant battle for love and acceptance from her family. They have let her down so many times, and when she finally reached out to somebody for help, it ended horribly. And James is under tremendous pressure from his father to perform, and to focus on nothing but football, but he wants more. But they have each other, they open up to each other, they become close, and they understand each other in a way that they both crave.
The romance is really sweet, and a little bit steamy, and I loved how they are there for each other. Their relationship has some ups and downs, but they give each other strength that to stand up and fight for what they want, and I loved the character growth that we see for both of them as they fall hard for each other.
This book didn’t have the emotional punch that the first two books in the series had, but it’s a great read, and I loved seeing James and Morgan get their happy ending.
I’ve really enjoyed this series. Ginger Scott writes mature YA so well, and she really pulled out the dramatic feels with these books. I’ve loved them all.

Although, Ginger gives background information on the prominent characters I feel books should be read in order. This is my first read by Ginger and I did enjoy the book overall, but I found myself wandering in certain parts. I didn’t feel incredibly connected to the characters throughout the book. I felt the build up of their relationship was lacking and I learned more about them as individuals and not so much a couple. There were bright moments, intriguing moments, angsty moments sprinkled in that kept me reading because I wanted James and Morgan’s story. I did read Ginger’s Acknowledgments and she shares the struggles she was going through while writing this book. Taking this all in- I did enjoy the book and will be adding Ginger to my TBR.

This is the third book in The Boys of Welles series, the story of James and Morgan. This is another addition to the series, one I felt a bit weird to be honest, I wanted to find out about these characters. The new guy in the team and the girl from social media, yet I felt the story a bit repetitive from the previous ones, I wanted more of a plot. It's a YA so I understand the whole idea, yet I know Ginger can excel in this genre, I just think this one felt off. I enjoyed the story, just not up to the previous ones, I am still recommending you to read it as it is part of the series and you will love this couple as well.

In The Boys of Welles, book 3, Habit, Ginger Scott continues with many characters we met in this trilogy, but now concentrating on Morgan and James. Book 3 may be the end of a trilogy, but Ginger Scott returns reader back to early in the books,shortly after the accident and before any characters have found connections or even happiness.
"We lock eyes for a few long seconds, and while his touch had me wound up for hours last night, his words have done something entirely more permanent to me now. I think he’s changed me a little. I think maybe I’m better."
Morgan is trying to recreate her " brand". Always in the limelight and being an influencer, was always how Morgan defined herself. But so much has changed after the accident, that Morgan wants to step off her previous path, and have a new journey. But will James, new boy as well as new player fighting for team quarterback, be able to step off the path his father is pushing for or will he give up a chance for his own happiness and love with Morgan.
"I like pushing myself like that, over the edge to discomfort. Sometimes, being uncomfortable can feel good."
Ginger Scott scores another touchdown with Habit. The depth of her characters continues to be such an amazing strength in her writing. In this trilogy she has dealt with many emotional aspects within friendships, school, and even the connection (or lack of) within families. And as always, Ginger Scott creates yet another set of characters, a book, and a series that help confirm why I love this author's style and books so much. I highly recommend this YA sports romance.

Oh man I have been itching to get Morgan and James story and Ginger Scott did not disappoint with this one!!
James and Morgan have such a complicated relationship and we see that throughout the first two books. They come from very different backgrounds and both lead very different lives with very different dreams. James Fuentes is the new quarterback at Welles fighting for the QB1 spot on the team and a scholarship at a prestigious university to put those dreams into action. Morgan is a social media influencer just trying to get through they day, battling her inner demons and the constant rumors spread about her.
Morgan and James are the perfect image of the ups and downs of high school relationships. Morgan is a perfect example of a misunderstood girl and that you truly shouldn’t believe every rumor your hear. My heart broke for her and all that she’d gone through but also the fact that she had to go it alone, she had no one to talk to, no one with a shoulder to lean on except James. But, James’s father views Morgan as a distraction someone who shouldn’t be involved with. I loved James and his dedication to his family, but also his dedication to Morgan. He refused to be another person that judged her based on other people’s opinions and that made him the perfect match for her in my eyes.
I loved James and Morgan together, they really brought out the best in one another and just shared the sweetest bond. So sad to see this series ending.
