He’s my best friend’s older brother. I have no business having these feelings for him. But I do.

I’ve had a crush on Mason Winchester for as long as I can remember. To him, I’ve never been anything more than a family friend. His little sister’s annoying friend.

But what happens when he needs a nanny for his daughter for the summer? He calls me.

That’s when things change.

Suddenly there are feelings. Real feelings I shouldn’t be having.

I’m only staying in this small town a few more months, so what could a little fling hurt? Work this out of our system. Easy. No one has to know.

Except when those feelings start to grow. Am I willing to lose my best friend over a summer fling?

This is bad. Very bad.

But…something this wrong shouldn’t be this good, right?

Summer isn’t the only thing heating up in Dixon

4.5 stars! Yours to Hold is the second book in Emily Silver’s Dixon Creek Ranch series. This low angst, small town romance series set in Idaho is a lot of fun and this one is my fav in the series yet! It has all my fav tropes: single dad, nanny, best friend’s brother, grumpy/sunshine, age gap (he’s 10 years older), small town romance!

We saw Mason, his 7-year old daughter Willow, and Ivy in the first book. Mason’s sister Gemma was the heroine of book 1 and Ivy is her best friend! Ivy has had a crush on Mason, her best friend’s older brother for forever and now she’s going to be around him more this summer when she becomes nanny to his daughter. Mason is part of the Winchester family and always helping out wherever he can, but this summer he needs help himself and takes on Ivy as his nanny. Mason has secretly been into Ivy as well and while he’s tried to keep his distance in the past, he can’t now….

“Because as long as this man is mine to hold, I’m not going to let go.”

This was just such a delight to read! Mason and Ivy’s chemistry is so good and I loved their connection. His daughter Willow was also just so cute and I love her relationship with her dad and Ivy too. Ivy shares her love of photography with Willow and that was so cute to see. Ivy and Mason start off deciding to give in for just “a summer fling” before she heads off at the end of summer to Seattle to work at an art gallery, but of course the relationship turns into more for both quickly! We also get some cute scenes of Willow and her dog Daisy pal’ing around, sick/caretaking scenes (when Mason gets sick), and lots of small town charm and shenanigans! This was just a feel good, small town romance, that delivers on the steam too!

Thanks so much to the author for an ARC, all thoughts in this review are my own. Yours to Hold has a pub date of June 22, 2023!

I seriously love the Dixon Creek Ranch series! These characters are so much fun & so sweet!

I have such a soft spot for the children in single parent romances & they are almost always my favorite character(s) of the book. Naturally, Willow (& Daisy) stole the show! I absolutely loved how quickly Willow & Ivy got so close. And the way that Ivy was the only person to get Mason's grumpy exterior to crack? My favorite part of grumpy x sunshine romances!

I love how much of the book included art & artistic expression. It seriously warmed my heart when Willow showed an immediate interest & learning photography from Ivy!

Features:
- single dad x nanny
- grumpy x sunshine
- forced proximity
- smalltown romance

Thank you so much to Emily Silver for sending me an early copy to read!

To be honest the only reason I finished the book it's because it was relatively short and I needed a book with a title that starts with the letter Y.

Clichéd, washed out tropes...
Small Town romance
Single dad
Grumpy x Sunshine
Nanny
Best friend's brother
Age gap
The kid steals the show

It's fast paced. Telling instead of showing. The writing leaves much to be desired.

She always had a crush on her best friend's older brother. He always felt she was special. Those feelings suddenly sparked when she turned 21.
He's over his head in work and as a father. Needs help with his daughter. In steps his sister's best friend. Proximity ignites their hidden crushes and feelings. She needs to leave town at the end of summer to pursue her dreams. They have a secret summer fling. She eventually gives up the big city dreams to be with him. The End.

The first third of the book was all about Willow, Mason's kid. She stole the show as predicted. Mason and Ivy barely had any interaction but they kept thinking things like fuck she's doing something to my insides and damn how can I be so close to him without touching him. Some cheesy thoughts here and there.

The second third of the book turned into literal porn material. All we read was them going at it as rabbits in heat with one or two appearances of Willow.

The third and last part witnessed the third act breakup. Her best friend gets wind of their relationship, of course she's fuming. Ivy leaves the small town earlier without a word of goodbye to either Mason or Willow. Such a cowardly thing to do!
She ghosts them and then practically Mason's sisters bring them back together. Lame lame lame.

Things I hated more than others:

He went into a nail spa with his daughter, and his thoughts after the experience were:

I've never thought about doing this, but I can see myself doing this with her (Willow) again. It's relaxing. While I wouldn't get this kind of color (neon green) every time, it's nice

Nope ☝️ No man in my book is allowed to paint his nails in different colors. Not happening!

Ivy about her career... 👇

"Do you think you'd like it over time?"
I shake my head. "I always thought I'd be untethered. Have a new man in every different city I visited."

How romantic and... decent?! 🙄 Ughh I just don't know anymore with all this SIW shit...

Aaaaanyway, at least I am done with the letter Y.

I’m loving the Dixon Ranch series! I liked book one but I really loved book two. Ivy & Mason are definitely my favorite so far. This book has so many good tropes. I’m always a sucker for the Single Dad x Nanny trope. Add in the fact that she’s his sister’s best friend & an age gap? Perfection.

Mason is Gemma’s brother & Ivy is her best friend. Ivy is back in town for the summer & Mason needs a nanny for his daughter, Willow. Both hold a secret attraction to the other & as the summer goes on, it gets harder to deny their feelings.

I loved the chemistry between Mason & Ivy. This book had some good spice but also some really sweet moments. The connection that Ivy made with his daughter, Willow was so beautiful! Overall I really enjoyed this book & can’t wait to continue the series.

Tropes:
- Small Town
- Single Dad
- Nanny
- Best Friends Brother
- Grumpy x Sunshine

Mason= single dad delight! Yours to Hold by Emily Silver was a single dad / best friend's brother romance that I absolutely adored. Mason and Ivy's relationship was steamy, heartfelt, and completely stole my heart. This is book two in Silver's Dixon Creek Ranch series and is not to be missed. Each trip back to the small town of Dixon feels like coming home, and I am loving finding out how each Winchester sibling discovers their very own HEA. Mason and Ivy's journey to forever is filled with many obstacles to overcome but with the help of Mason's sweet daughter, Willow, and giving into their true wants and desires, these two find the key to true happiness that may have been in front of them all along. I loved Ivy's determined and passionate spirit to care for Willow, go after her dream job, and give in to her feelings for Mason. Mason was one swoony and charismatic hunk, and I loved his devotion to his daughter and his growing love and adoration for Ivy. Plus, there is a little bit of an age gap that made their steamy hot chemistry a little bit forbidden and a whole lot hotter!

Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of a small-town romance with a hot loveable single dad, a dedicated nanny/ photographer, an adorable pipsqueak daughter, a devoted golden retriever, ice cream dates, dancing together, stormy steamy times, cowboy coasters, relationship secrets, helping out at the family bar, a reliable best friend, landing your supposed dream job in Seattle, more steamy times, discovering where you truly belong, and a HEA that will hold onto your heart and never let go, then you will love Mason and Ivy's romance. I always look forward to more from Emily Silver.

This was the first book I’ve read by this author and as I just finished this book, I can say that I’ll read more of her.

This book was beautiful and the author writing style was very fluid and make this story easy to read.

I loved it, characters were so cute. I love Small Town, Single dad, Age Gap, so from the beginning this book already was appealing.

Mason is the oldest from his family and has a wonderful seven year old daughter, Willow. He wants to be the best dad but with all work's hours he's struggling.

Ivy is the best friend of Mason little sister and always had a crush on Mason. She wants to leave Dixion to live her big dream, but before leaving she’ll propose her help to Mason by nannying Willow.

Mason and Willow were so lovable, they share this strong bond between them and have a really sweet relationship. Mason's family was so great, they all are really close and they all help one another.

Ivy on the other hand is an only child and she knows Mason’s family for almost her entire life. She'll have to deal with her attaction toward Mason as she'll saw him everyday.

I love how the characters had evolved, and Willow was really the cutest girl/daughter. Just the first chapter made me laugh so hard.

I wanted more banters between Mason and his siblings, and maybe more development from others family members. At first I gave this book only 4 stars, but I kept thinking about this book and tell myself that I gave the wrong first rate. This book totally deserves a five stars I really loved this story and will recommended it with my eyes shut.

Thank you for sending me this ARC in exchange for a honest review.

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝 was beautiful. Between Ivy's reluctance to take that step and go after the person she truly wanted but potentially risking the only friendship that feels more like family shes ever had, and Masons need for a woman he feels he shouldn't want, this was just the perfect romance.

Ivy is moving out of Dixon at the end of the summer. She doesn't like the small town way of life. Mason, her best friend's older brother, is in need of a nanny for his daughter Willow. Both of them have a crush on the other and it might be their only chance at a summer fling...

----------

I am OBSESSED with these three!

This is what I love about small town romance: it's full of fluffy, sweet, caring moments. Add in a little family drama and that's the recipe of my dreams.

Ivy and Mason's relationship (or fling) is built slowly. The adventures they go on with Willow are the sweetest. I loved the ending even though I think it wouldn't happen like that in real life. The smut scenes were great!

I absolutely adore Willow, and the shenanigans she's up to with her dog.

Very excited to read more!

Yours to Hold was a sweet small town feel good romance that I have come to love from Emily. I adored Ivy, Mason and his little girl Willow. There is a bit of a forbidden element to their romance with Ivy being Mason’s sister best friend. Ivy helps Mason out when he needs a nanny for his daughter and the chemistry and attraction between these two was strong between them. I loved watching these two fight their feelings for each other until they couldn’t anymore. Willow was the cutest and I loved the relationship that developed between her and Ivy. The book made my heart happy from start to finish and if you love small town romances that bring the swoon and the steam definitely pick this one up!

The chemistry between Mason and Ivy in 𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠 𝑇𝑜 𝑇𝑎𝑘𝑒 was intense and I have been waiting to read this one since then, and it didn't disappoint.

Ivy, this h grew up in a household with parents who used her against each other, and never did anything to make her happy. She has been waiting to get out of Dixon Creek for years, she finally has that within reach when an opportunity in Seattle presents itself.

One more summer in her hometown...what she never expected 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓 changing her life.

Mason, this hero ♥️🔥
....his the eldest of his siblings and a single dad, trying to be there for every single person he loves. He is stressed out and when Ivy offers to take care of Willow during the summer 🌞, he accepts....but that isn't easy for him, due to the fact that his feelings for Ivy changed a few years ago and he wants her...badly

Mason and Ivy's chemistry set these pages on fire, the steamy moments were just 🔥 and the two of them falling in love even though it was just supposed to be a fling was beautiful.

There was a moment towards the end I just wanted to scream at the h...I knew it was going to happen...but she should have waited and just listened 🙈

...and Willow, I loved this little girl...the time she spent with Ivy was amazing...but the time she had with her dad, was everything...I mean the love Mason had for his daughter...♥️♥️♥️ Beautiful.

To be honest, I've been waiting for this book since the first one came out. While reading Yours to take, I loved the mentions of Ivy and Mason. I was so eager and excited to read their volume and I was not disappointed. I started it this morning at 9 a.m. and finished it at 10:45 a.m. I couldn't stop, so much that I wanted the continuation and the end.

Mason and Ivy have great chemistry and their relationship is warm and beautiful. It's much more than a summer adventure between them.

Willow, Mason's little girl is simply adorable. She is so cute. Ivy has a wonderful relationship with Willow, as she teaches her about photography.

I'm a huge fan of books with the single dad trope.

It was a great romance to start the summer off with a small-town romance, which delivers on steam

I really like the style of writing which is very fluid.

Thank you to the author for the ARC of this book!

This was such a good small town, single dad romance! Ivy is the best friend of Gemma from book 1. She’s back in Dixon for the summer and Gemma’s older brother needs a nanny for his daughter! Ivy has had a crush on him but he was her best friend’s brother. Now, he has feelings for her too. Can they stay a fling? Of course not!

I loved how there was no drama with Willow’s mom. I think that’s overplayed so it was a relief! The conflict resolved easy, and I want more stories from Dixon Ranch!

Tropes:
Small town
Best Friend’s brother
Single dad x nanny
Summer fling to more

Emily you blew me away again!
Mason and Ivy’s story was incredible. I didn’t realize how much I missed Dixon until this hit my kindle.
This is a steamy small town romance, with low angst, best friends older brother and single dad alllll wrapped into one delicious package.
The relationship starts as Ivy offers to become a nanny to Willow, Masons daughter. And boy does their relationship take off from there. One of my favorite parts of Emily’s writing is how believable her story/relationship arcs flow.
Mason is so freaking swoony and Ivy is just a gem. Y’all aren’t going to want to miss the second installment of Dixon Creek Ranch ❤️🫶🏻

Say single dad/nanny and I’m sold. Emily Silver did not disappoint with this one either. Add in best friends brother and it just throws the tropes over the top for me.

Mason is in a bind for the summer and calls Ivy to nanny - and we all know they can’t help falling in love in such a swoon worthy fashion. And he has the most adorable daughter, Willow. There’s is just something about girl dads that make them perfection.

Mason has a little grump to satisfy my broody mean craving. But prepare to fall heels over head completely for him.

Such a perfect little town that I need to move to asap.

This was my first Emily Silver book and I am hooked. I loved the pining between Ivy and Mason and how their passion exploded when they stopped fighting it. I melted over Mason and his daughter, and when he noticed how good Ivy was for them both, he was done for. This was single dad romance done so very right and I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Omg this book was so good. I couldn’t put it down. I freakin loved Willow (mason’s daughter). She steals the show in the book quite a bit with her cuteness. Ha I adore her. But I absolutely loved Mason & Ivy. Mason is her best friend’s older brother & she helps nanny during the summer. What’s suppose to be fling turns into so much more. The spice was good as well. A slowburn but so worth it. I definitely recommend this book. I can’t wait to read the whole series.

There is nothing that will make me weaker in the knees than a single dad who makes their kid their world. Gets me every time. Mason is the epitome and Willow is just the cutest kid. I loved this story so much. This also has childhood friends to lovers and best friend’s brother which are two more of my favorite tropes. I feel like a lot of books these days feel like they need to draw things out to 500 or so pages. This one doesn’t do that and I love it for that. It gives you everything you want and need in about half of that. I would love to get another book with these characters, they’re just so great.

4.5🌟! Small town romance at its best. I loved the connection between single dad, Mason, and Ivy. These two have know each other forever, but through the lens of best friend’s older brother. And neither one is willing to risk that leap of faith to make them more, until they do.

Theirs is a fling in name-only. They might be sneaking around, but their feelings are very real. But it’s not enough that they’d have to put their misgivings aside to be together, Ivy would have to abandon her dreams, too.

Ivy’s relationship with Mason’s daughter, Willow, is also something very special. Willow brings something very special to the table and strengthens the bond between Ivy and Mason. I mean, who doesn’t love someone who truly loves their kid?

This is such a great romance and I love how the feelings evolved from lust to love with these two. Because they truly wanted what was best for the other person.

Great story and zero drama with Willow’s mom.

Cutest little girl EVER!

Ivy is finally done with college has an awesome job lined up in Seattle at the end of the summer but until then, she’s become a nanny to Mason’s daughter, Willow. She has always dreamed of travelling and taking photos and anything but be stuck in the small town she grew up. Mason’s little girl is precocious and often finds herself in very “wet” and “colorful” situations (LITERALLY in the first 10 pages!). There is an obvious attraction as Ivy is Mason’s sister’s best friend and they’ve known each other since childhood. Despite the 10 year difference in age, they can’t deny their lust and agree to a secret summer fling.

What made this book most enjoyable was the little girl, Willow. Oftentimes, child characters can get annoying because they are not written as a person of that actual age. Willow was funny and cute and the things she said were on point with what would be said for a child that age. I wish all 7 year olds were like this. With that said, I found myself a bit lost when reading because I did not read the first book nor did I read the series before. I would suggest reading those before trying to delve into this book. Otherwise, It was a very sweet story of two people finding love with unexpected people and is 🌶🌶🌶 spicy!.

I'm fascinated with Emily Silver's writing, and "Yours to Hold" was truly exceptional.
4.5 ⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️

The story revolves around Mason, the oldest brother of Ivy's best friend Gemma, and Ivy herself. Ivy harbors a long-time crush on Mason, who perceives her as his little sister's annoying friend. Mason, a single dad to seven-year-old Willow, requires a nanny for the summer while Willow's mother is deployed overseas. Ivy steps in as Willow's nanny, and the tension between Ivy and Mason grows.

Their relationship takes a turn one night during a bar incident involving Gemma and Ivy. Mason, feeling protective, cares for Ivy, leading to their first kiss. They decide on a summer fling, given Ivy's imminent move to Seattle for work. However, emotions get entangled, complicating their simple agreement.

I thoroughly enjoyed "Yours to Hold." Ivy's focus on her dreams, despite a difficult childhood, added depth to her character. Her connection with Willow was heartwarming, making her an integral part of Mason's family. Mason, a family-oriented single dad, found happiness with Ivy in their lives. Their chemistry and the ten year age gap didn't hinder their relationship, and the spice in their connection was delightful. It was very good spice. 🍦❤️‍🔥

Willow, a sweet seven-year-old, added charm to the story with her adorable interactions and love for her dog, Daisy. The book beautifully conveyed the idea that it's not the place but the people in your life that make a difference. Despite Ivy's initial desire to leave Dixon Creek, Mason and Willow showed her the possibilities of staying. In the end, she achieved her dreams in the small town she hadn't initially wanted.

This heartwarming story illustrated how the right people can transform your life. Mason found his other half in Ivy, who not only cared for his daughter but also provided support and love during his difficult times.

Every minute of this book was a delight, making it a must-read for fans of these tropes. I'm eagerly anticipating Layla's book in the series. 📚❤️

The second in the Dixon Creek Ranch series is a fantastic continuation of the series. The next Dixon to find his HEA is Mason, the eldest brother and single dad. When he needs help with his daughter after burning the candle at both ends, Ivy steps up for the summer to become her nanny. She’s had a crush on Mason forever and being in close proximity turns a crush into the flame of attraction. As the weeks pass, Mason slowly unwinds and starts to see Ivy as more than his little sister’s bestie. But she has a job starting in the fall away from their small town, a town she has always dreamed of getting out of. This age gap, single dad, small town, forbidden romance was a fantastic follow up in the series. I loved how they went from friends to lovers over the weeks that passed and kept it all a secret. You knew the rest of the Winchesters were going to find out, leaving the inevitable third act breakup to happen which forced the characters to really think about what they wanted in life. Which duh, you knew these two were meant to be together from the start.

I really enjoyed how it all came together and then worked out in the end. Once again, Emily writes her characters in a way that seems realistic and authentic. In audio, Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder were once again perfect for the story. In particular, Emma was fantastic voicing Willow, Mason’s daughter. This was another sweet and easy listen perfect to keep me company all day long. I loved Ivy, who had a plan, and Mason was just enough of a grump, overwhelmed by his job and being a single dad. I really enjoyed how this story overlapped with Yours to Take and loved how it was perfectly balanced between sweet and steamy. This series is a fantastic cozy read after another.

Oh how I love a single Dad romance. “Yours to Hold” is a sweet, steamy and heartfelt small town romance that captured my heart with Mason and Ivy’s undeniable chemistry.

Ivy has big dreams of getting out of Dixon and working at a galley in a big city. While waiting for a job opportunity, she’s in Dixon and offers to help her best friend’s brother with being the nanny to his adorable daughter, Willow. Mason is raising his daughter alone while her mother, whom he’s not with anymore, is deployed overseas. While the two sometimes butt heads, Ivy has had a crush on Mason for most of her life. As the two spend time together, they realize how much they’re attracted to each other and agree to have a summer fling.

I love best friend’s older brother romance when they both have been crushing on each other for years. The back and forth as they figure it out is one of my favorite things that lead up to the moment they give into what we all knew was there. Ivy has big dreams and isn’t afraid to leave her comfort zone in her hometown to pursue them. She’s kind, smart and so great with Willow. They had such a special bond and I love reading it blossom. Mason has a little grump in him and that’s one of my favorite things. He’s such a good son, brother and father which made my heart swoon so hard for him. He’s so devoted to Willow and it just shines throughout the story. Willow is a sweet kid and the best way to bring these two together. The last few chapters were perfect and wrapped up their story perfectly. I’m already counting down the days until the next book in the series.

#yourstohold is book two in the #dixoncreekranch series by @authoremilysilver

Mason is a great dad. He’s hard working, loves his daughter more than life and always willing to help his family. When it’s too much to keep dragging his daughter and her best dog friend around, he needs a nanny. As much as he wants anyone other than his sisters best friend Ivy, she’s what his daughter needs. He’s looked at Ivy with heat in his eyes for years, but this time he acts and falls. He knows Ivy is best for his daughter for now, but what if she is for him too?

Ivy has wanted nothing more than to get out of this small town. Her best friend is here, but she’s got a life of her own. Ivy just needs to make it through the summer, then she’s on her way out. Being a nanny for Mason’s daughter wasn’t planned, but she falls more for that little girl. Ivy has always wanted Mason but it’s been out of reach. Can she get the guy she wants for the summer or will he hold more power over her than she initially thought?

This. Book! I fricken loved Mason and Ivy. The banter, the sexual tension, the love. It was amazing. They might not have let their feelings lead the way in the beginning but the mutual love they had for the Winchester family with undeniable. This book had so much steam and lust you need to cool off, maybe with some ice cream? IYKYK. Everything flowed so smoothly between the single dad, age gap, opposites attract and small town. Obsessed! Read it now.
