Where would you purchase land?... I mean if you absolutely had to. In case of apocalypse. Novelli stopped to think for a few seconds, then went on: In Tasmania. It’s far enough south to escape any excessive temperatures. It has considerable freshwater reserves, it has a democratic government, and there are no predators of humans. It’s not too small, but it’s still an island, so it’s easier to defend. And believe me, people are going to have to defend themselves. After that conversation, Paolo kept Tasmania tucked away in his head as a safe haven, should he ever need one. It actually seemed as though all those he encountered—men, mostly—were looking for their own “safe haven”. Each was experiencing upheaval, whether in their marriage, their career, or their faith. All were seeking a safe harbour, or simply a safe place to fall.
Yes, he added, with growing conviction, if I absolutely had to pick a place for purposes of survival, I’d choose Tasmania.
I write about anything that has made me cry.It seems to be a book that may have as many meanings as there are readers. I think I’d like to read more of this author’s work.
