I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway (thank you to the publisher) and was excited to get it. Sadly, I was disappointed. I felt like the artwork was more awkward that whimsical. Also, a couple of the idioms were worded differently enough than I would consider "standard" that they didn't seem like idioms anymore and just seemed odd - as if they were literal translations from an original language rather than the English version that is typical ("Don't check the teeth of a gift horse"...rather than "never look a gift horse in the mouth")

I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway. Each page is a proverb that gives advice or caution in various situations. Written in a form for children to understand, but the messages are for people of all ages. Each proverb is a starting point for further conversation and explanation. Very colorfully illustrated.

I'm not sure children are going to enjoy this book because the idioms are not explained and since they are pulled from around the world (according to the backmatter), not all of them may be understood by adults. The illustrations are bright but don't help readers understand the meaning of the idioms either.

I was hoping the author would have added what country the saying came from or maybe what part of the United States you may hear these saying.
Good book for a geography lesson maybe a parent-child project.

I won this book on Goodreads. The kids enjoyed this book even though most of it was over the preschoolers heads.

Cute, colorful artwork with phrases that are great life lessons/reminders. My son loved reading these and hearing my explanation.
