This is the best volume so far.

I really like, what-I-believe-to-be, Gus Fring (villain in “Breaking Bad”) inspired villain; the mayor.

The slice of life bits are nailed much better in this volume.

The fan-service seems a bit toned down.

This is the political world-building I’ve been expecting.

Pandora in the Crimson Shell is created by famous mangka Kōshi Rikudō (Excel Saga) and Masamune Shirow (Ghost in the Shell) so I personally had to start this series and by volume 4 I have not grown tired of any of the characters or have become annoyed by their personalities (though to be honest after watching the Excel Saga anime I think I might have suffered slight brain damage lol.) Now for the usual warning...this book is rated Teen and although it can be really cute at times it also has references of violence, crime, and a very specific method that Nene gains her unique abilities from Clarion that although not hentai comes very close so before handing a book from this series to a younger reader be sure to read it first.

The Information Network for the island nation of Cenancle has been malfunctioning more and more recently making communications impossible and leaving robots vulnerable for short periods of time. During one such event Nene and Clarion meet a nice man who like Nene just wants to help everyone that needs help which makes for an interesting group. However after walking the girls home the man simply known as Robert to Nene and Clarion returns to his job and a familiar face from the last volume appears foreshadowing trouble in the future. Later Nene helps a poor child trying to impress her doctor and things get hot as a charity event turns inferno and Nene and Clarion are there to help save the day regardless of all of the misfortunes happening recently. Be sure to read the 4th volume to see how close Nene comes to death when she finds herself unable to leave a child behind in a burning building. :)

Given a choice if I were to chose a favorite part in the volume it would have to be when Clarion is about to "handle" two criminals that are about to attack her and Robert catches up and intercedes before Clarion could take care of the problem. :)
