You are reading Book 1 of Brutal Kings series III. This is book is NOT- A- STANDALONE. Warning: This is a mafia romance surprise pregnancy, a page-turning steamy romantic suspense that will have you hooked.
Emma
A one-night stand
Left me with a secret baby…
fathered by my father’s worst enemy.
Letting a stranger touch me was a mistake.
After all, I knew he was evil in the worst possible way.
What kind of man laughs when he sees a woman nearly attacked?
But he saved me from Russian kidnappers.
And my hatred and distaste for him blossomed, then deepened into something dark and undeniable. I couldn’t resist his dark charm, his brooding good looks, that incredible body that left me feeling safe and sexy all at once…
We shared one night together.
A mistake. A very passionate, hot mistake with a man whose physique makes my mouth water and a glare that makes my body respond.
And now I’m pregnant.
I’m in deep trouble.
Because I am about the start a mafia war…
Warning: This book contains a dominating hero, explicit and steamy content, and profanity.
I didn't like his character in the previous books. When you get to know him more in this new series, you find him rather lovable.
This is another dark romance that will have you wanting more. Emma is an Irish Mafia Princess. When she is kidnapped after trying to save other trafficked women, she meets Raoul for the first time. Her sharp tongue almost gets her in trouble. Raoul has been kidnapped himself. The only way he can get the two of them out of there is for his brother to pay a ransom.
Emma and Raoul have a steamy chemistry and night together. He thinks there is something else between them, but Emma makes quick leave of their hotel room, with his wallet. It's not until he sees her again at a political party that he realizes who she is.
Oh and Emma has a little secret of her own. She's pregnant with Raoul's baby. WOAH!
Mya Grey is the Queen of Dark Romances. You will love how her story intertwines with romance, humor, kidnappings, and opposites attract. Can't wait for the continuing story!!!!
This was a short quick read that was confusing I thought I was reading book 1 of a series than it turned out to be book 11. This book started with them being held captive by a surly group of Russian sex traffickers. I was sucked into this story, but it was short, and I wanted more. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.
Having read and admired the stories of the first 2 brothers (10 books thus far), I am finding mysef impatiently waiting what "surprises" are being planned for this, the third pairing. I have only read the first book of Raoul's story, an ARC copy, and am already intrigued and anxious to complete this third set of the series. Raoul and Emma appear to be well suited for each other, ("The One"), making the reader anxiously awaiting what "plots and twists" are being planned that will lead to them reaching as happy an ending as the first 2 couples of this family. I strongly suggest you read "Brutal Kings I and II" respectively (now available in five book sets each) because they help you understand Raoul's character and most importantly the male up of the family. I am not normally a giant fan of needing to purchase and read several books to get to the happy ending because you're either (A.) waiting and purchasing each book separately (generally only available once every 2-4 weeks or so) or (B.) waiting & hoping a box set becomes available at the price of one book or at least less than the price of buying each separately. I have just recently been introduced to the writings of this author and plan on reading several of her other box-sets.
So, an Irish Mafia Princess, a dominating Italian Mafioso hero and Russian kidnappers...I know, it sound like the beginning of one of those corny "party" jokes that everyone groans at, but it's not what this is. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of moaning and groaning unleashed when Raoul and Emma get together...seriously, Raoul negotiates their freedom, help can't get to them until the next day so they are forced to spend the night together. The more time they spend together, the harder it get's for Emma to resist him, (pun intended, he he). Her sass and tough talk are his kryptonite. Unable and unwilling to fight the nuclear attraction between them, they indulge in one night together. The next morning he finds himself alone, Emma, his wallet and credit cards gone, but he's not surprised, mostly annoyed with himself. Emma returned home only to find out that her father was still set on marrying her off to a morally bankrupt Senator nearly twice her age, for the political influence the union would gain him. Weeks later, Emma is getting ready to attend a party with her Irish Mafia father and sleazy Senator fiancee, when she finds out that she doesn't have the flu, there is a different reason for her symptoms. The fundraiser is at a hotel that is owned by Raoul's family and guess who gets voluntold to "work" the fundraiser that night. When he stops to check the security footage before walking in, guess who he spys on screen...yup, the one that got away. He found her and can't wait to confront her... This is not a stand alone and I usually hate cliffhangers...but... Mya Grey is a master at spinning her tales, pulling you into the story and getting involved with the characters so you just want to keep reading. This is the first book in the Brutal Kings III, and I was hooked after the first chapter again. Treat yourself, once you start, you won't be able to stop until you see those magic words, the end. Off to another 5 star start. You don't want to miss this series, or the rest...trust me!!!
I think this is my favorite couple out of this series (of course I thought the same while reading the previous books). Raoul has been the playboy seeking the approval from his brothers he never got from his sperm donor and he met his match in a not so meet cute. Both had been kidnapped by the Bratva him of ransom and her for human trafficking. Emma aka Buttercup is a little spitfire with a foul Irish mouth. Raoul bought his and her way out and ended their experience with a one night stand. She left with a little gift. Raoul ends up winning her from her Irish Mafia Leader father and the fun begins. There is danger from so many people they don’t know where the hits are coming from. I loved how this couple grew up through their trials. They both had chips on their shoulders from horrible childhoods that had them overcompensating. There are lots of twist and turns I didn’t expect and I loved them all. This was a great series and it’s one I’ll definitely be rereading.
I'm SO happy Mya decided to write Raoul's story. I loved the intrige of his character in the last 2 series. All I can say is, I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved this book.
Raoul is unapologetically himself. He says what he thinks and doesn't care if it offends anyone. He knows what he wants and I have a feeling he always gets it. Emma is the exact same. She has had to learn to fight for herself because of who her father is and she doesn't take crap from anyone. However, she finds herself in quite the predicament.
The heat between Raoul and Emma is undeniable. They feed off of eachother and they it is explosive. So much fun to read!!!
I absolutely loved the last sentence of this book, the cliffhanger, because it sets up the next book to start off with a bang! I can't wait to read the rest of this series. Can I have it yet???
Yes finally. I have been anticipating Raouls story. I've loved him in his brothers books. He is such a cheeky character. Last series ended with Raouls being kidnapped. He eventually finds out who took him but comes across a group of girls that have been kidnapped too for trafficking.. There he meets Em. After a lot of drama Raoul manages to get free with Em in tow.
One thing leads to another and both end up having a Steamy night together. Still not knowing each others name. Then she disappears in the morning without a trace.
There is violence in this book so please read triggers...
Just before the book ends on the cliffhanger, Em finds out who her one night stand is and he is her fathers enemy. This all happens in front of her to be husband!!!! She also has a big secret she is hiding. Eeeek can't wait to read book 2!!!!
Raoul Caraldi is kidnapped by the Russians. They are working with Raoul’s uncle. Emma McErlane was also caught by the Russians. Raoul offers them enough money that they let Raoul go and let him take Emma with him. Raoul doesn’t know her name so he calls her Buttercup. They end up in a hotel room waiting for Raoul’s men to come get them. They have sex and fall asleep.
Emma is glad Raoul saved her and is attracted to him. She is the daughter of Tommy McErlane who is the head of the Irish Mafia. Tommy wants to marry her off to an older Senator. She is not thrilled about this.
What happens when Raoul wakes up and Emma is gone with his money and the ring he made from his mother’s jewelry? What does Emma think when she finds the ring? Will Raoul find his Buttercup?
Two strong lead characters in Raoul and Emma. I can’t wait to see where this story is going.
Emma gets taken by Russians who are involved is a girl selling ring. Emma is not like those girls. She is tough and hardened and talks back. A man, Raoul, finds himself imprisoned with them as well. Emma hates this man, even though he bought his way out and purchased her way out as well. She fights the rescue and with no money and nowhere to go, she goes with him. The two are headstrong and bickering back and forth and then things change. Raoul is very dominant and the two have their steamy night together. In the morning, she is gone and steals from him as well. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.
This is Book 1 in the Brutal Kings III Series by this author. It is a dark mafia romance between Irish mafia princess Emma and Italian mafioso Raoul. These flawed characters and the unique plot make for an intriguing read. It is a thrill ride filled with drama, danger, violence, action, steam, frustrating moments, unexpected twists, and passion, plus appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. An engaging page turner to be continued.
I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Mya Grey keeps bringing the action and the heat. Captive brings us the beginning of Emma and Raoul's story. A dark and dangerous tale you won't be able to put down. This is full of deceit and betrayal and an extremely hot one night stand. What will happen next? We will have to wait and see. I highly recommend Captive by Mya Grey. mya-grey
Love Raoule and his steamy introduction to the 3rd installment. Can t wait to read more, loved the beginning of this series. I was so happy she was different than other characters of the series, spunky, independant, and takes what she wants. I m hiiked. Will she marry her fathers older polititon? Will Raoule realize she is pregnant?
This is a very interesting book, these characters are funny but also dangerous.first of all Raoul Caraldi yes kidnap by some Russian. Emma McErlane is trying to save some young girls from being kidnapped but she end up being kidnapped. Well as you all know dark romance is dirty Sexy and dangerous. I have enjoy reading this book great read💯📕❤️👍🏽
This is the latest brutal kings brother to get his own series. Even though he was an unlikable character before in the last two series doesn't mean a thing until you finally understand that he's now a character I'm going to love. I cannot wait to see how this series compares to the others. Highly recommend.
Fantastic start to new series; Brutal Kings III, finally Raoul story on this Sicilian Mafia based series. Lots of action, suspense, edge if your seat drama Even a one nameless night of passion without names and then she’s gone. I can’t wait to read what happens next! The Sicilian mafia is explosive! *I was given a copy and am voluntarily giving my honest review.
Mafia princess & Mafia bad boy get kidnapped. Bad boy buys their freedom, and they spend one hot night together, before she bolts without telling him her name.
The story ends just when it's about to get interesting. Can't wait for the next book. I recommend this book to readers of sexy romances.
Emma is one fearless woman she knows how to look after herself and raoul has met his match !!!! When fire turns to passion and Emma makes a run for it she gets and unwelcome surprise a few weeks later in the form of a baby and an angry raoul who wants what she stole off him back
What a book. Short and sweet but what drama. Love how you have Raoul meet his one and only Emma. She is feisty and what a mouth. But to be with Raoul the woman would have to be strong and hold their own. Love the series.
I am so happy that Raoul got his own book! This was a short quick read, but SO worth it. Now knowing what happened to him and being able to get into his mind; I love it! I can not wait for book 2 to see what happens between him and Emma and see how things go down at the party!
Captive is a great start to this series. I loved getting to know Raoul better. Emma is a Mafia princess but she also has a strong personality. After one day, these two already have an explosive relationship... I can't wait to read about all the twists and turns of their story.
Captive starts immediately with excitement and kept me a bundle of nerves till the end. Raoul and Emma's story has plenty of action honestly you'll be sucked into the vortex by the kidnapping, trafficking and much much more and it's a mafia romance go figure.
This is a hard book to write a review on without giving the storyline away . It’s lighthearted but still with a touch of drama that kept my attention. Well developed and interesting plot and characters that hold my attention. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
The beginning of Raoul 's story. Kidnapped. Human trafficking. First sight. On night stand. Attraction. Affection. Entertaining. Funny. Sad. Dramatic. Criminals. Attempted murder. Enemies. Wonderful Characters and thrilling story. Happiness. Desire. Love? HEA? Exciting story.
The first part of this series starts out, right away, with action and kept me entertained till the abrupt cliffhanger! Raoul and Emma have great chemistry. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next episode! *this was a complimentary copy and this is my honest review*
Thank goodness, I thought Raoul was dead! Glad he isn’t. This is going to be an interesting series of books. Like the first installment. Don’t know if Mateo and Andy can be out done as my favorite couple, but these two are working at it.
I am so excited for Raoul story. Boy did his series start with a bang! There is so much action, suspense and twist and turns in this part of his story. Emma is amazing and is definitely going to give Raoul a run for his money. I can't wait to see what happens next in Raoul and Emma's story!!
This was a really quick fun read. Emma is my soul sister. Her British snark and take charge attitude pulled me right in. Raoul has no clue what he is in for 😂
On to the next book… can’t wait to see how this all plays out
Captive is book one in the third part of the series Brutal Kings by author Mya Grey. So this one takes off where the last book for part two leaves off. Raoul was taken and he finds himself a treat. A spicy, sassy one. Then she bails and things get messy. Enjoy!!
This was an ok introduction…. The stage has been set. Let’s see where this story goes from here. We have a sassy young woman barely out of her teens and a mobster who finds her almost irresistible. And we are off to the races.
