Bones is a man I despise. He gives Bad Blood a whole new definition. But he's not exactly what I thought he was. Maybe men can change. But it doesn't matter how I feel about him. My father would never approve. He'd never let me love a man like him.

Loving this 2nd part of the serie... A Romeo and Juliet vibe...
They are so in love, he is so sweet and at the same time so ruthless!!!
Its strange but i'm saying that i hoped there would be more drama... more action... more pages... their relation is great but i get impatient to more to happen and that's one of the reason that i love this book so much!!!
First of all, I love this cover! The colors are beautiful 🤗
Alright, it's different then I expected it to be! I really was expecting a different plot of Vanessa's parents meeting Bones.
I was a little dissapointed with the reaction of Vanessa's family. It feels a bit hypocritical of Crow and Pearl. They also didn't meet each other in normal circumstances. They met because Crow took Pearl hostage and used her as his own slave. I understand they want the best for Vanessa and this isn't what they were expecting. But if she really loves Bones, and we can notice, why wouldn't you be happy for your daughter?
Bones and Vanessa are obviously made for each other and you can feel the love between them 💕 I hope Crow and Pearl cut them some slack.
And I'm so curious how Conway will take this!

Omg, emotions are all over the place, I think it will take a bit for my heart rate to come back. I so love this series and who ever thought you could have feelings for Bones and desperately want him to have a happy ending! We pick up from where we left off and all not happy on how Vanessa walked away from Bones and how could she, but there love for each other is like a magnet. The force keeps bringing them back, can she introduce Bones to the Barsettis? Will Crow accept him, need to read to see what happens. Penelope Sky knows how to keep you gripped and go through every emotion, the book ended far too quickly for my liking, I could sit here happily reading away. Sassy in lingerie can not come quick enough. I need my Bones fix!

I can’t get enough of these Barsetti’s! This is book 7 in the next generation and this book continues the story of Vanessa and Bones. I’m really enjoying their story. Vanessa is trying to deny her feelings for Bones. He’s the perfect guy for her except that his family is a mortal enemy of her family. Will they be able to get past their family conflict? I still advise it is good to know the background of the prior books as it does have spoilers for the prior books.
This story is so unexpected. I mean we should hate Bones, right? But somehow we don't. Can I dare say that I'm hoping Vanessa stays with him?!?! Yes he is dark and twisted, but considering his past you can't blame him. It was a rollercoaster ride and it kept me turning the pages.
I am on the edge of my seat to see what happens next.
As usual this series doesn't disappoint and it was definitely worth the wait. This book had me all in my feelings I never thought I would be saying this I'm seriously having feelings for Bones and desperately want him to have a HEA. I felt like Crow and Button were a little hypocritical and really harsh towards Bones especially Crow. I know that he wants the best for his little girl but Bones shouldn't have to pay for his father sins. He needs to trust Vanessa and know that he raise smart intelligent women. I just hope everything works out in the end. Overall a fantastic read. Super excited for the next book in the series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Vanessa and Bones have to fight against all odds if they want to be together. Her family is the biggest obstacle. When Vanessa tries to stay away, you can feel their pain. These two are like magnets to one another. Her dad surprised me in this book. I cried at one point and I'm totally hooked on this series. I really hope these two crazy kids can find a way to make it work. Everyone deserves a happy ever after. This is not a stand alone, you should read them in order.
Okay this is so good now I’m zooming through because I have to see how this plays out. ALSO PLEASE DEAR GOD TELL ME THAT IF BONES WALKS SO DOES VANESSA. I have anxiety this series really does make you go through a whirlwind of emotions.

The story with these two continues to be a roller coaster, where they have so much trouble admitting to each other and to themselves (in the case of Vanessa) how they feel towards the other, but it’s so obvious to everyone else. Is it something that they’ll overcome? Well, no.
We know that they love each other as we get deeper into this story, but we know that there’s no future because of so many reasons. Bones isn’t the type to settle down, although he follows suit with all the other men that we’ve met by our amazing author and we know that when the right woman comes along they change their tune. Vanessa knows that Bones is a man that his family will NEVER accept because of the blood war that’s been going on for generations. It doesn’t matter that Bones wasn’t raised by his father, it doesn’t matter that Bones is a different man, there are too many walls for anything good to come of this.
So we spend much of the book watching them try to live their lives separately. Vanessa goes back to her apartment, her life, tries to make her life into what it was before Bones. Even allows her mother to set her up with someone who would have been considered the perfect man. But he’s not Bones, so he’s not perfect.
With the connection and chemistry that we know these two have, it’s no surprise that they realize that the jealousy that they feel, that the love that they share is more important for now and they give it a shot. Vanessa knows that she’ll have to hide her relationship forever and Bones knows that he’s not capable of giving her the fairy tale, but for now, they don’t care.
Life continues on for both of these guys – Bones goes on hits, and Vanessa gets scared for his safety. Vanessa paints and is successful at selling her work even when she didn’t have faith that she was good enough. Their path seems to be on a great trajectory. Until they decide that they have to be open with the Barsettis and that’s where all hell breaks loose.
Will Bones ever be accepted? doubtful. Will Vanessa be forced to choose between her love and her family? likely. will there be a happy ending here? who knows. While we’re left at a point in the story where decisions have been made and there’s no more ambiguity, there’s still a huge question on what the overall outcome will be and what’s going to be sacrificed. So…i must go find the next installment to figure it out, since honestly, i thought this would have been the story to tie up their romance
Summary: Bones is a man I despise. He gives Bad Blood a whole new definition. But he's not exactly what I thought he was. Maybe men can change. But it doesn't matter how I feel about him. My father would never approve. He'd never let me love a man like him
Review: What a book to end thee year off with. Finally the family meets "bones" or Griffin if you like that better. You could just picture the tension while everyone was sitting at that table waiting to see who was going to make that first move and if they were going to kill each other. I have no idea how the series will continue. How can you ask your family to get over that but also how can your family not appreciate the love you have for someone when it wasn't him the one that did those awful things but his dad. so good i swear i cant get enough of Penelope sky!!!!
So to fully explain my title you would need to have read all this incredible ‘Buttons Series’ right from book one (Buttons and Lace) because Crow Barsetti is one massive hypocrite. A gorgeous one… but a hypocrite all the same.
Right from the moment Bones and Vanessa got together, we knew this wasn’t going to end well. They’ve both fought their feelings fiercely. They’ve tried letting each other go… they’ve tried moving on… but it’s futile. They are destined to be together but the reason they shouldn’t be together is still the same and unless something changes, it will always remain.
The blood war between Bones Snr. and the Barsetti family was deeply ingrained. And I’m many ways, understandably so. But whilst Bones Jnr. still harboured a hatred for the Barsetti family due to their involvement in the his fathers death, he is willing to put that behind him for the love of his woman. Vanessa Barsetti is the only thing in the world that matters to Bones. He loves her so deeply that he’d lay down his life for her… as would her father.
But their mutual love for the same woman doesn’t unite them… it fuels the rage further. I think it’s safe to say, this is a tug-of-war over Vanessa’s heart and I’m afraid to say, I’m not sure which side will win.
So why the title? It comes to that old phrase “that’s the pot calling the kettle black!” The hatred between Bones and the Barsetti’s is understandable. Rape, kidnapping, extortion, murder, torture… yep, it’s brutal. But, Bones is not his father. And ok, so he’s a hired assassin and lethal, but Crow and Cane Barsetti were just as ruthless and dangerous in their youth before they bought their way out. And let’s not forget the circumstances around how Crow and Pearl came together. He stole her from Bones, imprisoned her in his house and made her have sex with him to pay off her debt. Sounds a little familiar to me.
So, I guess I’m annoyed at the way he treats Bones when Vanessa tries to get them to reconcile. It’s massively hypocritical. I know he’s just trying to keep his daughter safe and show her his love… but was it not the love of a good woman that made him change for the better? He needs to give Bones a chance to prove himself.
I’m hoping it all turns around and we get the outcome we are all hoping for… but judging by the blurb for the next instalment, I’m not confident. It’s going to be a bumpy ride!!
Toca seguir adelante a ver qué pasa.
When I started this book, I was angry at Vanessa and heartbroken for Bones. I continued to feel the same as I made it through the first few chapters but then like two magnets the attraction and love pull them together, binding them in unconditional love.
They have many issues that keep trying to pull them apart but as Bones evolves into a different man whose number 2 (Vanessa) is more important than anything and Vanessa begins to balance the relationship with her family whom she loves so much.
Finally, the introduction to the family is made and the tension is well documented by Penelope. I was hurt by Crow’s reaction yet understood them. Bones made is clear that he loved Vanessa and would do anything to protect her. Vanessa attempted to get her parents to understand and try to accept the man she loves.
I loved this installment in the series. The emotions were raw and very real. I felt at time like I was an intruder in their privacy as I read the intimate moments. Penelope Sky is writing one masterpiece after another. I am addicted to this series and am eagerly waiting for my next fix. Thank you, Penelope Sky, for the opportunity to be in the ARC group.
Overall, I did enjoy the Lingerie series, probably because I'm a sucker for alpha males (in books, let's be clear :p). However, these books had too many mistakes, too many repetitions, sometimes a paragraph was placed twice in the same book, a whole paragraph! How does that even happen??? I felt like the author thought I was stupid or had a very bad memory because she kept repeading why the characters were attracted to each other, why they couldn't be together, why it was wrong to love each other, etc. Writing four books for the same couple is just absurd and unncessary here, one book for one story would have been enough! Also the characters had the same way of talking, the same personnalities, the author literally toke the same characters but changed their physics and their background story a little bit and bam she had a new book.
However, I feel like this series could have some potential if she made it shorter, worked on her characters and had an editor (because I guess she doesn't have one?).

I am absolutely in love with this book and the series! There is no doubt that this book is a definite must read! Vanessa and Griffin(Bones) are my favorite couple out of all the Barsetti clan!!! That is saying alot because Crow and Pearl(Button)have held my heart for a long time. Vanessa and Bones have such a deep connection that they desperately want to explore but her family is a huge issue despite what Bones has promised her. Will the past history of their parents come to light? Will the children pay for the sins of their parents? Can love conquer all? Can Vanessa walk away from her family? Can Griffin find forgiveness and acceptance?Get this book and see! It is so worth it! I am so looking forward to the next book!!! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance reader copy of the book from the author. It is so hard to wait but the pain of waiting is so worth it. You will be so captivated you won't notice that time is slipping away. Yes, it is that good in my opinion. updated the dates of reading on 7/5/18
Desire in Lingerie is the latest release by Penelope Sky, this book continuing with the POV’s from Vanessa and Bones.
This follows from the ending of the last book with the two now are no longer together after Bones reveals to Vanessa that he loves her and also that he knows that she loves him. However she argues against this vehemently when we can tell from the emotions she has for him and their connection this is a fact! Her main issue is her family and this does show towards the second half of the book when she raises the issue of her wanting to reveal the truth. I won’t spoil anything more except to say that I loved seeing Bones grow more in this book, showing him give up his revenge for Vanessa and to get ready for some really HOT make up scenes and read another great ending! Absolutely can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book ‘Sassy in Lingerie’!
Desire in Lingerie is book 7 in the Lingerie Series by Penelope Sky.
It continues on from book 6, Fantasy in Lingerie with Vanessa and Bones' story.
After Bones confesses that he loves Vanessa and let's her know that he knows she loves him too, she argue that she doesn't and leaves him. She can't love someone that her family wouldn't want her too, someone who has a vendetta against her family.
Can she put her family's feelings out of her mind and do what's right for her? Can Bones swap his hatred for love, completely?
Will the Barsetti's eventually find out who Vanessa has been spending her time with? What will they say if/when they do?
I can't wait to read Sassy in Lingerie to find out!
This series has had me hooked from the beginning and I can't see it letting me go anytime soon.
Penelope Sky has done it again! As the series has gone on, she has found ways to keep the reader drawn in and yearning for more! I loved this particular book in the series!! I finished it in just the first day - Yes!! I couldn't put it down! She has made me love Vanessa and Bones even more than before!! I wasn't sure how I felt about the whole relationship in the beginning, but now I am cheering for them and want nothing more than to see them get together, stay together and be happy! The last few chapters ripped at my heart! I won't spoil anything for those looking to read it still, but can't wait until the next book to see what will come of all the conflict there at the end!! Thank you Penelope for another amazing installment in the series!!
