Nothing extra ordinary about it in my eyes but also nothing terrible. I liked the character development and the few twists and turns

Okay so...let me start by saying that I am normally a hug fan of Fae, Mysteries and Enemies to lover's style books. This has all three which is why I'm really sad I didn't like it more.
The plot has great potential, that I don't feel was utilized to its fullest. I kept feeling that something was missing or forgotten about.
The pacing was ok...the first page had me so hooked and I kept chasing that excitement and at 58% I was still waiting for it again. While the writing is imaginative and thoughtful at times, it lacked something I like to call sparkle :)
The characters left much to be desired, none stood out and screamed "I am your STAR!!!" I was hoping and praying that there would be a moment when I would feel something for these people, but that was not meant to be.
Zia was likable when I began reading and even her actions made me think, why? how stupid? I still thought okay she's young and inexperienced keep that in mind. It did not help or get better.
Asher is your typical asshole/bully, look only at me persona going on, it wasn't fun. There are many books with the main love interest having this type of character and yet there is always something beneath the surface that shows there is more to them, and they aren't so bad.
I only experienced this once in the whole book, not for the lack of trying.
I also wanted to see more of the others. You know they are there and yet barley get to know them so when they make decisions, you're left wondering why they did that.
Like I said there is so much potential and hopefully the next book will dive more into character development, hopefully this help with the detached feelings I have.

Do you love a good enemies to lovers? A forced proximity? Then this one is for you!
Zia enters a deal with Prince Asher. Though things aren’t what they seem, she’s not what he expected. This book was great! It’s such a quick read and sucks you I’m right away. So much was happening you didn’t have time to be bored. Plus you were questioning everything up till the end. The sass and tension between Zia and Asher was chefs kiss. I could talk about this book all day long but seriously go out and see just how great it is for yourself! I could not put this down! I wish we could have a full book of Asher’s point of view cause I just NEED to know what’s going on in that head of his.

I really enjoyed this book! The whole close proximity and enemies to lover tropes always get me! I enjoyed that it kept me guessing and how all my questions/wonders were answered by the end. I would love to get more insight into Asher’s POV! Great book that I couldn’t put down! I can’t wait to read more by her!

Nice Story...too nice
This story has all the elements of a great paranormal bully romance. It has fairies, and princes fighting for power. I congratulate the author on completing a nice romance book about fairies. What it doesn't have is a male point of view, the true matches of mental intimidation and barely there intrusions into personal space. Do the eldest and younger brothers try to date her? No not really. Would it have added some more twists and turns to the book YES! We know that the King doesn't like Zinnia but he doesnt seem to do anything about it. I dont want to talk about the rebels. If you are going to put strong elements in USE THEM. The battle the prince wages over his own self control would help. I'm not sure why he decided to pick Zinnia in the first place. Yes she was at a party and she was beautiful but there just needed to be a bit more. Was he saving her from his brother perhaps? Or did she say something that changed his whole ideas about the lower class? Nope she was pretty and she spilled a drink on my shirt.

It was a fun read and I love that it’s a stand alone. His Wicked Games almost came off cheesy but there were some turning points that were interesting and surprising. Although I think Zia’s nickname for the love interests brother made me cringe, “Cain the pain”. That was probably the only part that physically made me cringe every time she said it haha.
It is what you can expect for a stand alone, don’t expect extensive world building for a fantasy novel. It was cute and the slow burned did what slow burns do best. The angst killed me (as it should) but them being as naïve as they were, and the lack of communication became frustrating at some parts but that’s common for most slow burns. All in all, it was a fun read and has some spice but don’t read expecting it to be 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I loved this book! Zia and Prince Asher were the perfect enemies to lovers and with the added bonus of it being a fantasy book. Zia being a firecracker was one of the best parts of the book, and Prince Asher was an ass at times but I feel redeemed himself and corrected bad behavior along the way. I flew through this book and would love to see more fantasy from the author.

This is a solid and short read! Definitely not as spicy as I assumed it would be, but still entertaining and got me out of my reading slump. The world felt a little underdeveloped and everything almost had more of a YA feel to it (except the spicy bits lol).

i actually quite liked it, even tho for me the whole flying around and doing magic stuff was kinda random and not really deep connecting with the storyline, but hey maybe i just didn’t get it. also i feel like the relationship of her and asher is pretty unhealthy?? but okay if she’s into that i guess i cannot argue

I would’ve DNF’d it if I wasn’t 3 books behind my Goodreads challenge. I really struggled to connect with the storyline and the writing style.
