This is book one in the new shifter series. Conner and Anna were good characters. The secondary characters were hit and miss. Myles and his talents sparked interest. The female wolf slightly interesting but the male wolf was forgettable. The individual characters were interesting. Conner was strong but still in touch with his feelings. He understands his team. As for Anna, she's strong, determined, and open minded. There was some tweaking to the shifter mythology.

That being said, it still falls short. There's a spark of chemistry between the two main characters but just a spark. The mate part never was fleshed out. The government branch for shifter crimes was interesting.

Conner is a bear shifter and a part of SPS! His team is sent to investigate a series of murders. The murderer is a shifter! Anna is the FBI agent in charge of investigating this murders! She is furious when a special team is sent to take over her case! Conner can't let Anna find out about shifters! What will he and his team so when they realize they are actually after a wolf pack that are killing these humans? And that Anna is his mate!!!

Story was interesting, fast paced but there were some shifts between scenes that didn't match up. At one point they were at breakfast discussing a hike and the next sentence, they're almost finishing up their hike. I think if the story was a bit more fleshed out and built up a little more, the flow would have come together a bit more easily. But the story itself was good and enjoyable.

Anna and Connor

The character of Anna was terrific! Determined, above reproach, strong, independent and sexy. Connor was also intellectually spot on and incidentally also Anna’s mate and the lead detective on what used to be her case. Much clashing until… I totally enjoyed reading this story, look forward to the next.

I enjoyed Connors and Anna's story. Connor is lead of a team of shifters in the SPS. Anna is a profiler in the FBI. They have to work together to bring the ones responsible of a host of murders to justice without Anna finding out that shifters exist. Very good story. It just needed to be a bit longer to make more understanding of the shifting of time or sets of place.

LOVE Connor and Anna's story. Love that he honored her skill and strengths as an agent, despite the limitations as a human. Their romance built through the case, Connor knowing and understanding she was his mate the whole time. It was a great love story, and I'm going now to download the next :)

I love Bethany’s book. She takes you n a ride without the need for 400 pages. And she leaves all the fluff behind while keeping all the important stuff. Onto book 2 right away.

Connor and Anna made a great team,it didn't take her long to find out what Connor really was.There was a pack of wolves going around killing anything they could get their hands on.Read the book and find out what happened.
