There are people in this world who take one look at others and think they know them. Those who look at me are wrong with every judgement they make. I’m big, I’ve got scars, and I scowl a heck of a lot, but that’s because of the hell I’ve lived through. The thing is, I’ve come out on the other side and I’m still here — that in my book makes me a survivor — which is more than can be said for a lot of men in my position.
My name is Micah Clark, a thirty-five-year-old man who’s lived ten lifetimes. I appreciate solitude, am motivated to succeed, and want busybodies to stay the hell away from me. I’ve done my duty in life and have helped countless individuals, and now I just want to live out the rest of my days in solitude. I’m damn sick of people asking if something is wrong. Moving to this small town of Ravish Oregon wasn’t my smartest decision in a long line of life-altering decisions. Everyone thinks they know all about their neighbors. What they don’t know, they snoop until they think they figure it out, but the wounds I carry are too deep for anyone to dig into.
I know what needs to be done next, and none of it has anything to do with a woman. Do I like women? Sure, what red-blooded male doesn’t like a soft, warm body to warm them up for a few hours? However, I want to bring us both pleasure . . . and then forget her name before I walk out the door to never look back.
People have always said to me though, if you want to make God laugh, just tell Him your plans. This might be truer than I care to admit, because just when I think I’m getting myself together enough to normally function in society, in walks Alexandra Crix and her angry son, Dillan . . . and they’re in trouble. What’s a man to do? I can’t know something is wrong and sit back knowing I can help, can I?
Nobody likes sexy men, sassy heroines, and emotionally charged books, right? WRONG! We all want to feel extraordinary when we read, and that's exactly what you'll get when you pick up a Melody Anne book. She has the feel-good stories of a damsel in distress with prince charming riding in to save the day . . . and she also has emotionally charged books that take you through a journey of emotion as you try to figure out if you love or hate the characters as they find themselves. What you get at the end of every Melody Anne book is a resolution that has you begging for more.

Dillan was abused by a step father. Be knocked around took a toll on him. His mother couldn't protect him. He ran away and finding a bunch of other kids to be with. They protected each other. New York City was brutal, so they decided to leave the city behind and travel to Oregon, but before that happened they were attacked by a gang of boys. All of they were killed except for him. At a young age he decided to go for his mother and get her out of the abusive relationship with his step father. It ended up that his mother was dead and his step father tried to kill him. With the neighbors finally calling the police. Everything started working out for him. This story went back and forth throughout his life. A lot of history that was based on his life. Then he met a fantastic women who arrived at the town in Oregon with her teenage son. Life just got better for him. I enjoyed reading this authors books, she has her own style of writing her books. You'll enjoy this story if you like her stories. ENJOY. Another book will appear in this series, so beware of a cliff hanger!
Well, this one has fewer rapes. This time a male has the flashbacks, an abused kid who runs away after almost being beaten to death. He lives on the streets with a group of kids, until one night... As a bar owner in Ravish, OR, he meets and hires an abused woman on the run and falls for her. This one is less bleak than its predecessor; Anne did not subject either main character to multiple rapes and sexual assaults, though she did throw several other rapes and the threat of one in because for her, a romance isn't a romance without a few? The couple is less problematic, although the resolution of her plot is pretty unresolved. There's another Ravish novel after this. I'm dying to see how the author works a rape or two into that one. It will feature the wealthy gym owner and Emmy, who works at the bar.

I loved this story of Dillon and Lexa! Of course we can't forget about Chance too! Dillon had a very rough life, on his own from the age of ten and a bad home life before that. He does find a family of sorts with other homeless kids but that also ends in tragedy. He does get his life together and spends a decade in the military, but finds himself lost when he gets out. His friend Bones helps him find his direction. He still is grumpy and closed off to everyone in Ravish. Until Lexa and her son Chance come to town. The overwhelming need to protect them is strong. Lexa and Chance have had their own demons that they escaped before they came to town. I love how the three of them come to be a family. I live this book and the series. I can't wait to read the next book. I highly recommend!!
First I would love to say I'm a huge fan of Melody Anne. I fell in love with her Anderson Series and never looked back. Every time she starts a new series I'm not sure if it will be as awesome. Let me say this; of course, it's going to be awesome. We all have a little fear in our life. But when Lexa leaves an abusive relationship and runs to an unknown town like Ravish, Oregan with her son Chance hoping that she will never be found by her ex. What Lexa did find was a community that protects its neighbours and friends. Could she fall for her new boss? Must read that is all I'm saying. I hope you all enjoy this story as much as I did.
This story has some really sad things that happened to both Dillon and Alexa. Dillion dad died when he was young. His mother remarried, his stepfather was an abusive SOB. Dillion couldn’t take it anymore and let home at age 10. Lexa was a widower and well married to her high school boyfriend. She met a man the was willing to be there for her and her son Chance. But he started being abusive as well and once he hit her son they both left In The middle of the night. Left Chicago to Ravish, Oregon. Lexa was looking for work and walked into Dillion bar. This story does deal with abuse and healing, but also moving forward. Happy reading
Wow! Absolutely loved this story about a mom a her son, who are trying to find their footing in a new town, and starting over. Bar owner hires Lexa, never expecting her to last, let alone feel anything. He has his own past to deal with, and knows she may be running from something as well this story will definitely make you happy, but also cry, with so many emotions and feelings. The people who are trying to help in this town are amazing, they stick together ❤️ beautiful story, loved it.
I love Chance! Such a good son and kid. I like how the relationship developed. I love this town very much. There is one thing I would have loved to have been included is Dillan telling her about how rich he is. I think it would have been great to get her reaction. I also would have enjoyed the wedding. I really and in love with this town and the people in it. Looking forward to more in this series. The kids are a great addition. Melody Anne does it again another fantastic story.
First Series book 2. Dillan and Lexa. This book was gut wrenching, dramatic, hopeless, angsty, gritty and hopeful. Dillon had a very difficult, sad and traumatic past. Lexa and her son is running from an abusive ex. Dillan owns the bar in this small town. Lexa and her son find their way there. This small town is remarkable and they take care of their own. As Dillan and Lexa work together, the chemistry is undeniable. They fall for each other but that road isn't so simple. Together they are smexy and fanfreakingtastic.
I absolutely loved this book! I didn't want to put it down. I was drawn in by Dillon and Lexa's tragic stories. Melody Ann did a wonderful job of telling their love story while still leaving room for the readers imagination. It truly is the quintessential love story. I found myself smiling and satisfied when I reached the end. Thank you Melody Ann for giving us two "very real" real people to fall in love with!
OMG! The stories in this series are gut-wrenching. While book one had some heartbreaking details that deeply affected me, this second book left me with tears flowing down my cheeks when I read the scene where young Dillan and his friends were attacked. I felt the pain and loss like I knew them. It's awesome how the author evokes so many emotions in the reader.
She Saw Me: First Series written by Melody Anne. I so loved this book with Lexa and Dillon. The huge gruff man who is trying to overprotect the sweet lady with a painful past. So sweet!
Love reading this book. Can't wait for the next one in this series. I have read a!lot of Melody Anne books have really enjoyed them all especially the Anderson family books.
This one was not too exciting. A good storyline but a little on the boring side. I loved the stories of his past and seeing what he went through. Love more with him being a Seal. I wanted to see more action.
I liked the book from the first. It told a happy and sorry stories about what really happens to young kids. They made the best they could out there lives.it was so good happy sad happy
This is another good book by Melody Anne. It takes you into a different world one that few of have ever seen. It also takes you to a bright place of joy and happiness.
This is another beautifully written rollercoaster of emotions. It is a story of how domestic abuse and survival can lead different people along different pathways to find love
I love how the writer can take such broken lives and have them come out with a happy ending. You want to root for the characters and hope their lives change. Good reading!
I just love Melody’s books. This one didn’t disappoint. I love the small town of Ravish, every one is so friendly. I absolutely adored reading Dillon, Alexa and Chance.
I'm about to tear up having just finished this second book of the series. Oh so many words of wisdom sprinkled throughout this work of fiction! The characters are well rounded and multifaceted and the story is spellbinding. It's so worth the time to read!
I am so happy when dark beginnings turn light at the end. My heart broke for the 3 of them and I can't wait to read Emmy's story next. I do hope there will be a Jackson story.
The book was at times heart wrenching, and very moving. Dillan and Lexa both had difficult pasts, but came out better for them. I loved the book. Thank you Melody!
What a really beautiful story. I loved the characters and was very touched by how they handled Rach other with care and kindness. Truly a wonderful read.
