An old nemesis, bent on revenge, and willing to do anything to exact it.

Hiram Kane, after another harrowing adventure (does he have any other kind?), is in Korea to recover and recharge. Part of his turmoil includes his soul-searching over where his relationship with his longtime friend, confidant, and erstwhile partner stands after their most recent separation.

But someone from his not-so-recent past has been tracking his movements, and setting traps for Kane, with devastating efficacy and deadly intent. Part of this international subterfuge includes the kidnapping of a member of a family dear to him, and the devastation and destruction of a highly treasured cultural icon, one so engrained into the soul of the nation that Korea would, for most intents and purposes, be brought to its knees.

Kane’s responsibility in all this, should he choose to accept – and he really has no choice otherwise – to save a beloved friend and rescue a cultural symbol, is to negotiate multiple burning hoops and roadblocks, freezing, inclement Korean winter weather, multiple injuries to Kane and his taekwondo mentor, and the inherent and deadly underlying subterfuge. Simple, right? Yeah, like anything Kane does is simple.

Grab this newest Hiram Kane novel. The plot twists have twists, and the action is heart-pumping…or was it heart-stopping? Either way, it’s highly recommended.

Another brilliant novel in the magnificent Hiram Kane series !

Besides the thrill and excitement of Kane’s dangerous endeavours, the novel really shows us the heart and soul of the character. The things he will do for his friends are without end, and he feels all the guilt if something goes awry. And things don’t always turn out the way you WANT them to turn out….

Don’t let this novel pass you by !

Oh Hiram! You know what you must do.

This 9th Hiram Kane Thriller was painful, bur in many ways beautiful. Hiram must do a great deal of self searching with the help of his longtime friend. In the end he knows what he must do, I hope.
