Started off a little mild, but I like that we are getting more of a story for the characters.

I honestly wasn't expecting to jump into this volume without re-reading the previous four first (although I skimmed them) and to finish it in a day (thanks weekend bus routes), but here we are. This wasn't my favorite volume of Yarichin despite the mild story and character progression Tanaka depicted here. The big reveals posed this volume didn't feel as important to the grand scheme of the plot as they could have been. This doesn't include the love triangle, which is now becoming one of my favorite aspects of this series. Yaguchi's "true self" beyond the posturing we've seen is starting to show in his interactions with Tono. Now that his relationship with Yu has improved, the sense of Tono getting used to get under the former's skin is no longer a possibility. That doesn't mean they'll have a new aspect of their rivalry to contend to if what's up next is concerned. The Minami reveal was interesting, but I thought there would be more drama with it.

What I was most surprised about this time was how random the sexual content felt. Now that Tanaka has given her characters some emotional vulnerability, jumping from that to R18 was jarring, specifically in Chapter 21. I wouldn't go so far as to say they felt like afterthoughts. Rather, they cut into the lunch line to serve as a reminder of why Tanaka created this series. They don't particularly work, and while I cracked myself up at several points during this volume (by referencing memes, songs, and trying to see if the potty humor worked or not), I didn't feel titillated like I have in the past. Even with Tamura.

I will give Tanaka pluses for one of their reaction panels (which is one of my favorites of the year) and for giving us another peak to Tono's personality given how he started off as a wet blanket. I'm still seeing enough plot progression that I don't worry about this series stalling. Yarichin isn't the best BL out there given its content (and some of the stereotypes it pokes fun at/perpetuates in the genre), but with the attempts at expanding the story's world, it's still starting to show more than what it initially set out to do. I'm still curious to continue it whenever the next volume drops.

⭐3 - neutral / it was okay

I couldn't remember who the characters were so I was a bit taken aback by how some of them are portrayed. (Ayato Yuri is a bit disturbing yet hilarious? How?)
The thing is I still like it!

I will say the authors note made something clear:

I started drawing this manga because I was really into fuckboys and wanted to draw a manga with a bunch of fuckboys and mansluts. I've added comedy and drama when I feel like it, so the story's gotten pretty incoherent.

I love the self-awareness.

Time for some mindless and stupid things. I'm sort of ashamed I like this series so much but also kind of not.

I will say Ogeretsu Tanaka is a mangaka whose art I adore but her stories are a bit dubious? They work well for me though but I can totally see why someone would dislike them.

Whilst Yacchan and Kashima complete for Tono's affection, Tono slowly seems to be gravitating more toward Kashima (good, stay that way!) But he's still in active denial about those feelings. You might blush with Yacchan, but not as much as you do with Kashima, Mr. Tono!

Tono and Yacchan still have the funniest and most well defined expressions of anger and outrage five volumes later, I love it.

I feel so bad for my man, Tamura. He just wants to be loved by Yacchan, and I'm cheering you on, broski. Yacchan's mean spirited personality and Tamura's hard exterior and gooey insides would make them a good couple with a good dynamic. Tamura also seems like he could handle Yacchan's mean spiritedness and hold his own in the relationship. Maybe...But that's just, like, my opinion, man...

No voy a mentir: es dificilísimo entrar en este manga, empezando por la premisa. Como sabía a lo que venía, yo esto lo he leído por los loles, pero me he encontrado con cosas positivas que me han terminado enganchando (que decía Plinio el viejo que no hay libro malo que no tenga cosa buena, jajaja). Nah, es broma, NO es malo. Mentiría si dijese lo contrario. Es cierto que es muy edgy y camina por un filo muy delicado (y falla a menudo con el chiste bruto), pero el dibujo es estupendísimo y usa el smut para canalizar las subtramas románticas. Y esas subtramas son muy guays. Por un lado, la de Yuri y Fujisaki que me parece preciosa (y precisamente el hecho de que a Yuri le guste el sexo y follar, y que Fujisaki tenga un kink sumiso con cierto puntito degradante, es lo que hace que funcione como funciona. Hay una escena en este último tomo que creo que define a la perfección su relación, cuando Yuri está con Tamura (otro kink que se saca por aquí la autora) y al terminar a quien acude es a Fujisaki). La de Itomi y Akemi no sé muy bien por dónde pillarla (aunque me parece interesante lo que presenta), pero me gustan mucho las sinergias de este último tomo con Shikatani. Y el triángulo principal (con Tamura completando el lío romántico) es lo que me tiene dentrísimo de la historia (y es donde más me estorba el humor brutísimo de la autora, porque se nota que le casa menos).

Sobre el dub/non con y las relaciones adulto/menor... Diré que el primer tomo patina mucho, pero en los sucesivos la autora intenta virarlo a un punto donde la trama sea viable, y eso significa llamar acoso y violación a lo que es acoso y violación y que los adultos paguen por sus delitos. Eso hace que la lectura se vuelva mucho más cómoda, porque le permite caminar en ese filo con mayor soltura.

Comincia ad abbassarsi un po' l'intensità della narrazione, seppure le varie trame avanzano (di poco).

Mentre i nostri eroi si preparano per il festival della cultura(una manciata di clicchè ma che ci vogliamo fare, alla fine fa parte della quotidianetá degli studenti) scopriamo piccoli dettagli sui passati, qualcuno si dichiara (povero :( sinceramente lo avevo preso in simpatia e un po' mi dispiace. Comincio ad odiare il protagonista!)

Come andranno a finire i vari triangoli? Chi lo sa! Non ho la più pallida idea di come si possano evolvere le cose, neanche a provare a fare una previsione, zero. Non è una cosa negativa ma questo mi spinge ad essere curiosa sul prossimo volume. Speriamo di poterlo leggere quanto prima... ma ho i miei dubbi visto che ha scritto 5 volumi in 10 anni e ha intenzione di proseguire con lo stesso ritmo (tra l'altro ha in piedi sia questo che Happy of the end).

Non fare la fine delle CLAMP, ti prego.

This is silly as always.
The photography club is at a hot spring. Jimmy wants to know more about his boyfriend Yuri, but the guy is as enigmatic and weird as ever.
The love triangle between Kashima, Yacchan and Tono continues. Tono is just clueless and doesn’t seems to see any of the sign the others guys are showing him.
There is also Tamara that wants Yacchan and will not give up, even if he was turned down.
I am curious to see how to Culture festival and the Romeo & Juliet play will turn out in the next book. I am rooting for Yacchan & Tono since the first volume of this series, but the relationship advance at snail pace.

I loved it and I'm waiting for the 6 vol. I hope it will be out soon. anyway, it was great and I loved it but I wouldn't recommend it for people below 15 as well as the other volumes. I really loved that Yuri and Fujisaki are finally together(I think so) because I've been shipping them since the first volume. loved it.

I thought this was the last of the series and was so excited for our boy to lose his virginity because that has to be the endgame right?? 

Anywho, it's incredibly amusing how this series swings from disgusting R-rated scenes to totally adorable BL.  This volume was short, but absolutely unhinged. Tldr perfection.

I have nothing remarkable to say about this manga. I think if you enjoy super spicy and BL this is an a bad series but I feel like we’re only really involved for the sexy stuff so it makes the plot line sometimes a little boring.
