These common phrases in our culture may sound good, but are they? Are they rooted in truth?
In a world that seems to no longer believe in right or wrong, where should we as followers of Jesus look to for our source of absolute truth?
Encouraging the search for Biblical truth, Girl, Read Your Bible challenges you to spend more time in the Word yourself to see what God has to say on these matters and more.
In all your getting, get understanding! That’s Bible! The book was ok, but it was also on the bias of the author, which most books are. I will agree with the author in that we should study and know the word for ourselves. Scripture interprets scripture and when studying, we should know the context in which it was written. When we do not, we often learn scripture and use it to justify our own actions and beliefs.
This was a great book for me. I read a few chapters a week, it gave a great REALISTIC and HARSH truth to saying you’re a Christian vs acting as one. Was exactly what I personally was looking for before I start my goal to read the Bible front to back.
If you want sound doctrine, Girl, read your Bible...
...and put down this book! As a Christian, Bible teacher, and active church member, I found the title intriguing. As I read, there were many scriptures included which I liked. However, there was so much bias and lack of context that I became annoyed. Particularly, the "Hospital for Sinners" chapter. We should ABSOLUTELY invite non-believers to a Bible- teaching, Bible-believing church. The non-believers will hear the gospel and prayerfully be moved by The Holy Spirit to accept the free gift of salvation. To suggest that church be a fellowship of Christians only completely disregards what true discipleship is and the purpose of The Great Commission. Go read Romans 10-9-14! Ms. Woods, some plant, some water, but GOD gives the increase. Lastly, please get an editor because there were several typos. I do NOT recommend this book, but 100% recommend The Holy Bible.
Good book and quick read. The book got straight to the point of the importance of reading the Bible for ourselves as opposed to depending on a pastor, sermon, etc etc to do the work for us. I loved that she touched on the “love is love” motto and didn’t sugarcoat anything around the topic which happens a lot in this day and age. Not everyone who calls themselves a man/woman of God is actually so and it’s easy to be deceived when you don’t know The Word for yourself. Would recommend to anyone that has been struggling to read The Word.
Very quick read with good basic truth about the importance of reading the Bible for ourselves and prioritizing biblical truth.
"Close relationships require more than minimal to no effort in order to last. If you sincerely desire to grow closer to the Lord, you cannot expect to have an intimate relationship with Him by looking at one verse a day and that being all you ever do."
Woods made the journey to God simple, GIRL, READ YOUR BIBLE. Simple as that. it makes sense. we find time to do everything else that we want to do but have to force time with God, who is the Person that makes of things possible. I definitely will be making more time to, READ MY BIBLE.
This book was a short read, but profound, important… and most importantly backed with scriptural reference to encourage you to do just as the title says… girl, read your bible!
Quick read....I liked that the author had scriptural references. Simply put, the author is urging us to prioritize time with the Lord, and follow biblical guidelines. We have to be intentional about reading His word and living an exemplary life!
Highly recommend this book for anyone who is looking to learn and draw closer to Jesus Christ. All the questions you maybe thinking in your head is answered here. This book has drawn me to pray and read the sword of God.
I am responsible for my personal accountability. I am accountable for my soul salvation maintaining and being intentional in sustaining it. Amen+❤. Glory to God. Hallelujah.
This is the perfect mix between a devotional & informative read. It’s def not a read and be done. You will come back to it and reread parts. I really enjoyed it
Speaking truth.. Always go to the word for truth. This world will tell you all the wrong things. This book reminds of this. Stop letting the world distract you. Girl , read your Bible!!
This is a great book for beginners to seasoned believers. It gives great reference to topics that we often struggle with. I still believe you have to read the word for yourself but this is very helpful.
I was drawn to read the book simply based on its title and quite frankly I didn't know what to expect. The author did a great job outlining God's truth and also challenging the reader to know the truth for themselves by reading the Word.
It was an easy read that shifted my perspective.
It's worth the read if you're struggling with reading the Word and want to better know the Word and God's truth. It was a refreshing read.
