I really enjoyed reading this series so far! You get such vastly different stories that still interconnect since all females are friends. You will not regret picking up this series! Book number 4 is due to be released soon so I would definitely read the first 3 stories before reading the 4th one. Below you will find a brief review on each book. Enjoy!

This Is Fate
This is book number 1 in the Fated Loves series and focuses on Daniel and Maddie. Maddie is a law student who works as a bartender. This is where she meets Daniel. Daniel is a silent partner in the pub that Maddie works at and starts coming in frequently just to see Maddie. Neither one of them is particularly looking for a relationship when they find each other but in the end they were exactly what the other person needed. I really liked this story and I can't wait to see what the rest of this series will be like.

That Was Then
This is book number 2 of the Fated Loves series and focuses on Bronson and Cassidy. This book can definitely be read as a standalone or as part of the series. Bronson and Cassidy were college sweethearts who hadn't seen each other in 5 years since Bronson left Cassidy heartbroken. When he comes back wanting closure he realizes that he wants another chance with her but she doesn't want to end up like she did 5 years prior. This was a really good second chance romance story! I'm so glad that Bronson and Cassidy were able to get their second chance HEA. I am so excited for the next book in the series!

All This Time
This is book number 3 in the Fated Loves series and focuses on Jace and Lily. Jace is a detective who is incredibly self-conscious about scars he got while in the military. Lily is Maddie's (book 1) and Cassidy's (book 2) friend and roommate who runs a cat bookshop in town. Jace and Lily have been unknowingly communicating online but Jace was hesitant about meeting in person initially. They had been thrown together a few times because of a string of robberies/break ins on her shop's street and because of Jace's friendship with Daniel. Their identity reveal did not go well AT ALL but thankfully they were able to get past that and got to know each other as more than the bookstore owner and the detective. They both experienced so much loss in their lives and it was so awesome for each of them to discover the real person behind the keyboard. This was hands down my favorite of the series so far! I was completely hooked right away and could not put the book down until I finished it. This book let's you see the insecurity, the hope, the love, and the ups and downs of relationships. Plus some added mystery never hurts. I loved seeing these 2 finally get the person they are meant to be with and finally start the life they both so desperately wanted with each other. Such a great book! I definitely 10/10 recommend this book.

*Audiobook review*

This is Fate – This was a really cute story with some heavy obsessive/stalker-ish vibes, and I really enjoyed it! Daniel goes above and beyond for Maddie all while ignoring and pushing down his true feelings. This gives us a really good introduction to Maddie and her roommates/friends and acts as a set up for the future stories. There were a few moments where the times jumps confused me, but it didn’t take much away from the story.

That Was Then – A second chance romance between Cassidy and the man who broke her heart years ago. Bronson was a rising star with a bright future in Baseball until a mistake and an accident led to the demise of his career and relationship. I am not usually a big second chance romance person and I’ll admit I was happy when Cassidy didn’t just give in to Bronson right away, but I did enjoy the story of this couple’s HEA.

All This Time – This was my favourite story in the collection. Two people fighting their own personal battles yet trying to put themselves out into the world in order to find that one soul that speaks to theirs. Lily and Jace were beautiful people and I loved experiencing their journey to an HEA.

I struggled with the narration in this series. For the most part, the narrator gave good performances for the male POVs in each story, even though I do feel his acting choice for the male POV in book 2 made the character sound much older than he was supposed to be. I had a difficult time connecting with the female POV in any of the stories as this narrator may not have been the best choice for this. His tone and pitch weren’t different enough and made it difficult to tell the difference between the male and female POVs, and sometimes (mostly in book 2) I found myself lost in the story and unable to figure out who was talking. I feel like the narrator did some good accent work in book 1, but in scenes with the MMC, FMC and side characters, it got a little muddled and was once again hard to figure out who was talking. This may have been a little easier if the story was written in 3rd person as it would be from a purely narrative point and the character’s names would be repeated more frequently, but since it was 1st person, the narration wasn’t successful in putting me in the FMC’s place.
Overall, I enjoyed the author’s writing. I thought most of the characters were interesting and well written, and nothing came too easily for them. I would definitely revisit Zee’s work in the future.
2.5/5 narration, 3.5/5 story for overall collection (3/5 bk 1, 2.5/5 bk 2, 4/5 bk 3)

'Fated Loves: Books 1-3' by Zee Irwin are the first three books in the series. Each story is a standalone and and there are no cliffhangers. These books offer something for everyone with alpha males, feisty heroines, and diverse tropes from friends to lovers, second chances, instalove, and so much more.

#1. 'This Is Fate' which is about Daniel, a silent partner in the bar, and Maddie, a law student and works as a bartender in Daniel's bar. Daniel starts frequenting the bar to see Maddie. Neither one of them is looking for a relationship but they can not deny their attraction.

#2. 'That Was Then' is about Bronson and Cassidy were college sweethearts until Bronson broke it off and left Cassidy heartbroken. Five years Bronson seeks out Cassidy for closure and realizes he still loves her. Cassidy doesn't want to be hurt again.

#3. 'All This Time' is about Jace, a detective and former military, and Lily, who owns a bookshop in town. Jace and Lily meet due some break-ins in shops on her store's street. Unbeknownst to either of them they have been chatting on-line but Jace was unsure of IRL because of his scars from combat and Lily because she has been hurt before. However they have been chatting for months so it might be time to meet or stop chatting.

Ms. Irwin has written an entertaining collection of love stories. The stories are well written and full of laughs, meddling families, secrets, trust issues, passion, and plenty of steam. I enjoyed these books and recommend them to anyone who likes a quick but satisfying read.

This is the first three stories in the "Fated Loves" series. "This Is Fate" is Maddie and Daniel’s story. It is a lovely and beautiful developed story. I love the characters and the plot is interesting. The chemistry is strong between Maddie and Daniel with good build in the relationship. "That Was Then" is the second story in the "Fated Loves" series. This one is a second chance romance for college sweethearts Cassidy and Bronson. A wreck caused them to end their relationship but now he is back and wants to her. She wants no part of it or does she really? This is such a good read and I cannot believe the lengths someone goes to in this story. The story is interesting, intriguing and nicely developed. I couldn't help cheering these two on. "All this Time" is the third story in the "Fated Loves" series. This one is about Lily and Jace. Two people who are so meant for each other and help each other. A scared man and a sweet bookworm are brought together by crime but find more than either bargained for. wreck caused them to end their relationship but now he is back and wants to her. The story is interesting, intriguing and nicely developed. I couldn't help cheering these two on.

Book 1
I really enjoyed this book and felt for Maddie before Daniel worked his feelings out.

I'm very pleased for the HEA.

Book 2
Omg, Matilda is such a horrible woman (to put it politely). I can't believe the lengths she went to, due to being rejected by a guy! I'm so pleased she got found out in the end and got what she deserved.

I loved this story and I shared the frustrations of Cass and Bron until they finally got themselves sorted out.

Can't wait to hear Lily and Jace's story and background into how Jace got his scars.

Book 3
Wow! I loved how the strong alpha guy in this book also had a vulnerable side to him, making him more real.

Great book and series and I highly recommend this author. Can't wait to read book 4!

I read these books individually, but I also loved the bonus books in between which gave you sneek peaks into how the characters got together and what you can expect from the book.

This would have been a 5 star rating but I felt a little let down by the first book in the series This Is Fate. I couldn’t feel the chemistry between Daniel and Maddie. Admittedly this had one of my least favourite tropes of “I’m never going to fall in love, because I don’t trust it”. It drives me crazy so that would have factored into my liking of this book.
Book 2 and 3 though were so good. Book 2, That was then is my favourite. Second chance romance, found family, and Christmas vibes made this really work for me. Not only that, the longing Bronson and Cassidy still felt for each other was there from their first scene together. This was a 5 star read for me. I loved the H and h, and I loved Cassidy’s family, which is why I’m eagerly awaiting book 4 which features one of Cassidy’s sisters.
The third book, All this time features the third room mate Lily. Oops, I forgot to mention Maddie, Cass and Lily live together. She owns a bookstore, my dream job btw, and Jace a cop ends up living above her store to try to catch the criminals who are breaking into the shops in the area. Jace has some literal scars to get over before he can open up and let Lily in.
If you love romance you can’t go wrong with this box set. There’s something there for everyone to enjoy.

Three very enticing romances that are only connected by the women and town. Each has its own unique buildup and great backstories. The storylines range from an old romance getting closure and reconnection to two people connecting online but wary of actually meeting because of past pain. All three stories grab you from the start and you can not finish them fast enough. Loved the intense feelings, banter and drama in each book and hope the series keeps going.

Fated Loves #1-3 . . .

Everyone deserves a happy ending in this box set of fated loves. Below is a review of one of the books to give you a peek into what you will find in this collection. I included the book 1 review because it was short. My favorite in the series, however, was book 3. I can assure you, you will love these stories. The characters are so realistic and relatable. Grab your copy and enjoy!

Titles included are:

♥ That Was Then (#2)
♥ All This Time (#3)

*** Review of “THIS IS FATE (#1)” ***
This is a well-written book with strong characters, Maddie McComber and Daniel Jones, and a great chemistry that stirred both of them up when neither wanted a relationship. The author delivered a well-paced sweet romance with descriptive and detailed scenes and delivers the kind of entertainment I enjoy reading. The humor just tops it all off perfectly!

Some people are bound by fate to be together. Sometimes they embrace it, sometimes it takes a little bit of convincing, and sometimes, they run away altogether. But the thing about fate is, once she’s got plans for you, best be sure it will eventually fall into place no matter how far you run.

I thought this set of romances was fun to read, and especially loved that the stories were interconnected since the female leads were friends. Each story was different and entertaining in their own way, and I am not sure which set of characters I liked more. These three books were sweet, sassy and steamy hot, and I can't wait to read the next book when it is out.

This set covers the first three books in the Fated Loves series. The main characters are flat mates and we get to follow as each one finds their own unique love story.

This is Fate #1
This is a standalone and told in duel pov, which I love as you get to see both sides. I think this is suppose to be an age-gap trope, but there are only a few years between them so it doesn't really factor into their story much.

Maddie is about to finish law school and works in a bar to pay the bills. Daniel is a little older and is a jaded divorce lawyer who doesn't believe in love.

I really enjoyed he relationship between these two, its a real slow burn story, and they become friends but Daniel just won't take that next step. Even though he insists on never being in a relationship, his actions seem to indicate the opposite.

I liked both Maddie and Daniel from the start, and I really felt like I got to know them with them being friends first.

The ending fitted these two perfectly and the epilogue was just the icing on the cake.

That was Then #2
This is the second book in the series but is a standalone second-chance story, characters from the first book do make an appearance.

Cassidy and Bronson were college sweethearts, but after an accident and interfering family members, they spilt up and haven't seen each other for years. Then their paths cross and they are forced to confront the past.

Both of the characters we easy to like, and you could see that they had meant so much to each other when they were together. I especially loved the bromance with Cassidy's dad and Bronson, it was so cute, ha ha.

Bronson is determined to rekindle their romance, but he does make quite a few mistakes along the way - just when I thought he'd taken a step in the right direction, he'd put his foot in in and go back to steps!

I enjoyed seeing these two connect again as adults, and their ending is really sweet.

All This Time #3
This is a standalone and the third book in the series.

Lily and Jace actually meet online first and don't realise that they've met in real life too - definitely gave me some 'You've Got Mail' vibes.

Lily runs a book shop which is also has it's own cat community and cafe. She's a romance reader and has her heart set of being swept away by a romantic guy.
Jace is a police officer who returned from combat with prominent scars, and feels like everyone is watching and judging him for them. Reminds me a little of Beauty & the Beast.

What I enjoyed about the book is that they didn't just meet and fall for each other, there was a lot of other stuff going on and they had to work their way through several issues (on both sides), and not always getting it right, which just helped me connect to the characters more.

Lily's friends are the FMC's from the first two books and a couple of other characters also make an appearance too.
I did not like Lily's brother, he felt like a bit of a pointless addition to the story, only included to add to Lily's back story - he came across as a bit of an overgrown teenager, and not particularly likeable for me.

You don't really get the billionaire connection in this book, Jace works as a police officer and lives in a small apartment, even considering moving out to a place with house mates. His inherited business interests are mentioned, but they don't play a part in the story until the end.

I listened to these stories via audiobook and the narration was good and easy to listen to. The voices for each character were slightly different so you could follow who was talking. I would listen to the narrator again with no problems.

This is Fate

I’ve been wanting to check out this author for ages, so imagine my delight when I discovered my library offered this one—thanks for that!

I was immediately interested and before long, it full-on gripped me as I grew increasingly attached to both leads and the Boston setting. It packs a really fun dynamic, one I’ve not experienced a ton despite how much I read, and the bar setting and trivia games didn’t hurt a bit.

Billionaire male lead.
Bartender / student female lead.
Dangerous ex-boyfriend drama.
Vengeful criminals drama / action.
Secrets.
Set in Boston, female lead attends Harvard.
Slow burn / no instalove.

Overall:
The steamy scenes could really drag on (as someone who has nothing against steamy scenes at all, these were just a bit much). But the plot, world, characters—everything else were great!

4 stars.

Audio:
This has one narrator who doesn’t bother to do the ‘multiple voices’ thing, but he does occasionally mix in other accents and did amazing with those. The only downside was, I didn’t always know who was speaking, since it’s written in alternating POVs. But with everything else done well and great overall sound quality, no real complaints. 4 stars on this front.

That Was Then

After reading ‘This is Fate, book 1 in this series, I couldn’t not read more—I loved the world and those characters so much. (Thanks so much to the author and/or publisher who chose to distribute this title wide so that I could acquire it!)

Like its predecessor, this one drew me in right away due to having so many fun elements, such as:

🏛️ Set in Boston and Cape Cod.
🎄 Advertising / marketing geek-out fest.
🏛️ Corporate / marketing female lead.
🎄 ‘Coming home’ - male lead returns home to Boston.
🏛️ Christmas vibes, vivid decoration descriptions.
🎄Workplace romance.
🏛️Second chance romance.
🎄New Year’s Eve kisses.
🏛️Familial drama / digging up old wounds and making amends.
🎄Antagonist I loved hating.
🏛️Supportive girl squad.

Overall, a cute, quick read that kept me company at work.
4 stars.

Audio:
The narrator has a smooth, pleasant voice that’s very easy on the ears and overall does a great job. Also: overall sound quality is flawless.

All This Time

Another super cute read, and very sweet, and though I did question plausibility at times, I did enjoy it. Absolutely loved both leads, especially Lily and what’s not to love about a bookshop setting—and one in Boston at that?

📚 Disability representation (in a secondary character, but the female lead supports him).
💻 Set in a bookshop.
📚 Online relationship.
💻 A hint of mystery—for the leads, not the reader, but it’s sorta cute.
📚 Set in Boston.
💻 Police detective male lead.
📚 Side of crime—related to book 1 in this series.
💻 Both leads have and love their pets / cat presence.
📚 Slow burn.
💻 Other man drama … sort-of. (She’s not actually interested in him that way.)
📚 Tit for tat.
💻 Ex-military male lead … with physical and emotional scars.
📚 HUGE, adorable, ‘grand gesture’.

Another 4-star read for me and I think I’m officially a fan of this author—something I’d never know if not for their books being available in my library. Thank you again, for wide-distributing!

Audio:
Excellent! Smooth voice, slightly different tones for different characters and occasionally a passable Irish accent. Though, having grown up in Boston, I didn’t buy his attempts at a Boston accent.
🎧 4 stars.

I received this 3-pack through a Goodreads giveaway- thank you to the publishers! The following opinions are my own.

Book 1: I found this one to be pretty disappointing. The story is told in alternating POVs and this book unfortunately reminded me why I'm often not a fan of this format. I would easily forget whose perspective I was reading because there was absolutely no difference in the voice, which then made the characters seem pretty flat and forgettable themselves. There was very little character development, description beyond a few key characteristics (which then got repetitive- yep, the guy has green eyes, I get it!), or pull for the reader to feel invested in the main characters. I honestly did not care one bit about the characters or if they would get together, and their backstories weren't fleshed out enough to be compelling for me to buy into their reasons to not enter into a relationship. By the end, I could appreciate the chemistry between Maddie and Daniel, but would have loved more witty banter or sexy flirting earlier on to illustrate their draw to each other, give a sense of time passing within the story (somehow it spans several months?), and get me as a reader to be a bit more invested. But, obviously the book wasn't bad enough for me to give up on it and I did finish it. It turned out to be an easy, mostly pleasant read with a lovely happily ever after. It's enough for me to give the second book a chance and hope it's a better fit for me. For Book 1, I give two stars.

Book 2: Definitely better than the first. There was a lot more character development and dialogue and although the ending was predictable, I was attached enough to have the warm fuzzies when I reached it. It proved to be a quick and generally pleasant read, but there are some issues I have with the writing that I just can't get past. There are sentence fragments, sentences that don't make sense, and even one point where the author used a word completely incorrectly (I even googled the definition because I had to know which of us was wrong). There were a lot of cliches thrown in and although I'm all for keeping with a theme, I was literally rolling my eyes at some of the lines. Though the cheese factor was higher in this book, the first one shared these issues and I've reached the conclusion that I'm just not a fit for this writer's style and won't be returning to her work in the foreseeable future. For Book 2, I also give two stars.

Book 3: I won't be attempting this one. In addition to the stylistic complaints I noted above, I just don't like the character Lily as she's been portrayed in the first two books.

Book 1 was good; though I didn't understand Daniel's constant assertions that he had no interest in a relationship while he's going sooooo far out of his way to make sure he's all the way in Maddie's face, getting her attention. But, sometimes that's just the way it has to be for people to realize what they're actually looking for. Which is precisely the story we get here and Zee Irwin delivered it in a very believable fashion.

Book 2 was good, but I didn't love it; but don't let that fool you. It's well-written and it's a good story, but I personally don't love 2nd chance stories where the leaver does so because there's "something better or more important they want" from their life so they just abandon the people they "love." Of course, this being a romance story, somehow they do work it out when their paths cross again, but it's not without work. Again, Zee Irwin has written a believable, relatable, and realistic story which is very good.

Book 3 was excellent. Oh my goodness... so many feelings. Honestly, if I had read this book first, I don't know if I'd have liked the other two as much, because the standard would have just been too high. This was so emotional and complex and explored SO many real, honest, and sometimes overwhelming themes and it was relatable and realistic and lovely how the journey worked out for these characters.

For book 3 alone, I'd have given it 5 stars; the other 2 are 4 star reads for me, but the collection, all together is an excellent set so 5 stars, but maybe only 3.5 for the narration on the audiobook.

The narration was okay, though I don't think the variation between speakers was marked enough to make the experience truly engaging. Also, the abnormally long pauses between chapters was frustrating; every time the chapter changed, it seemed as though the audio had stopped all together or that the connection was dropped.

Three Times Fate Stepped In For Love

This box set consists of. The first three books in the Fated Love series. Each book is told in first person POV by both the male and female characters. It is full of humor, angst, chemistry, drama, mystery and suspense.

•This is Fate:
I loved that Daniel and Maddie started off being able to joke and just have fun. I loved Daniel’s mother and how she gave him such a hard time. I loved how Maddie was so confident in herself, but when her plot twist came and Daniel was there for her, I do feel like she became a doormat for Daniel to an extent and she didn’t really find her courage again.

•That Was Then:
I loved that Bronson and Cassidy got their second chance! I love that once Bronson realized that he wanted more with Cassidy, he did the right thing and talked to his father about the past and stood up to him about the future. I love that, even though sometimes misguided, Cassidy is always wanting to help make someone else’s life better. I love Cassidy’s dad and Hank, they really helped bring this story together!

•All This Time:
I loved that Lilly could see past Jace’s insecurities and help him be more comfortable. I love that Jace accepts Lilly’s quirks and supported all of them. The mystery and chemistry between them was great and the fact that they both have flaws of their own but also makes them the same is even better.

This Is Fate:

I enjoyed this audio very much. It took a bit but I found myself hooked on it. I must admit though that one male narrator for the whole audiobook was a bit confusing when it came to the female parts. I really liked the male narrator but I think adding in a female would have been helpful. I liked the love story, with the romance and the playing hard to get it was all fun. This is book one and I plan on finishing this series. I highly recommend this book for the romance people out there.

That Was Then:

I liked this book. I liked that this series or at least the first three books are interconnected. I liked the main characters, the uppy parents are a different story. Listening to this book was so entertaining and enjoyable. The narrator really does make the book come to life. I like the happy ending and the second chance the couple got.

All This Time:

I like that Lily owns a book store and Jace is a tough cop. I like that there was a little mystery. I appreciate that the voices for the male and female roles are different enough to tell who is who. I'm liking this narrator more and more as I listen to each book in this series. I will have to listen to the rest of the series.

The set includes the first three books in the Fated Loves series narrated by Matt Haynes.

This is Fate

Daniel is an billionaire divorce attorney that has no faith in love. He meets Maddie at a bar where she works, she is a law student and tends bar at night. They become friends, she sees past his outer shell. This is a slow burn, Maddie was the driving force.

That Was Then

Cassidy is one of Maddie's roommates from This is Fate, this story is about her and her ex, Bronson. Tragedy struck, it ends his dreams and he left her and now he has taken over the company where she works as a marketing executive. Bronson wants to rekindle the relationship, but Cassie was hurt badly by him and keeps him at arms length. Can Bronson convince her give him a second chance?

All This Time

Jace (friends with Daniel from This is Fate) is a veteran who is now a police officer meets Lily online over their love of books. Lily gets suspicious when several attempts to meet in person fall apart. Jace is scarred from his time in the military and he has not dated anyone since. He is afraid she will be disappointed if she sees him in person.

Each is a standalone with interconnected characters.

3.5 Stars Overall

My reading experience is more listening than eyeball reading, so my review after a listen has more to do with how the narrator performs the audiobook and brings it to life for me. The three stories held my attention and I enjoyed how they were connected but so different. In some parts I was annoyed with the female leads and kept talking to them in my head (all the best books bring out our emotions, don’t they?). I read the e-book of this collection alongside the listen, and I couldn’t help but compare the actual e-book to how it was narrated. The stories are told alternating between both the male POV and female POV but was performed in audio by one narrator. The narrator did a great job with the male character parts, but I found myself skipping the parts where he is speaking from the female POV. If there was a female narrator doing those parts, it would have had a better impact on me. I generally appreciate a solo narration if it is being told from a single POV or 3rd person POV. The stories were a better read than listen because of this.

This is my first time reading this author and have to say how much I genuinely loved her writing . This is a combination of the first three books in the fated series . Easy could and each story sucked me right in . So full of emotion and heat and intrigue, off the charts chemistry with characters that are so well written . There really is something for everyone in this box set . One of the things I loved most is that all three books are interconnected ( although they can be read as standalones. The female leads are best friends so I loved that as each book continues we still get to revisit each couple . If you are a lover of Alpha hero’s , feisty heroines , second chance romance , friends to lovers , insta love and much more go get this right now . Book four is coming soon . Cannot wait

Three books. Three couples to root for. Three HEAs. Conflicted men. Strong women. Steamy stories. Fate is on their side. Three different stories. Interconnected. All very entertaining.

This audio version was such a great listen. Matt Haynes presents these stories with expression and feeling. I love listening to him. He has a great woman's voice, too. You will need to pause after each book and regroup. He will now have a very similar sounding voice for the next two characters. They will sound the same, but are very different people. Each book is unique in its plot.
5 stars for both Matt and the book.
