This book pulled me in from the very first page and I didn’t want to put it down until I finished it! I couldn’t help but fall in love with Sarah and Zach, especially as the book reads from both of their perspectives. With the fits and starts to their romance, I felt just as annoyed with Zach as Sarah. If you’re looking for a fun, clean, very sweet, cozy romance then this is a book for you.
The premise of this book is one of my favorites: Girl's life falls apart, moves away, meets Boy who she doesn't exactly get along with, and the story progresses from there with comic moments, some angry outbursts, and a satisfying ending.
Personally I had a hard time reading this due to stilted writing. Instead of being shown, not told, how things were progressing, every little thing that Sarah did was spelled out down to when she flipped on a light switch. Not to mention that this girl has the worst luck in the world. Loses job, gets her coffee stolen, loses boyfriend (I thought that that was actually a good thing because he was not it), gets evicted (couldn't afford it anyway, girlfriend), and then her rental car...we won't talk about that. That was enough to make me cry just reading (due to her bad luck).
And then to make even the worst of days a little brighter, she decides to adopt a dog. Meet Maggie, a gorgeous two year old Golden Retriever who fell instantly in love with Sarah and vice versa.
I've had a thing about reading books where the main male lead is a veterinarian lately and Zach...I really do like him, but in the beginning of the book, when they pass by each other at the coffee shop, he notices her "thick thighs" amongst her being gorgeous and having thick red lips. That just seemed so odd to me. Zach's wife died six years previously and he's not ready to date no matter what his mother or anyone else in town thinks. Then he meets Sarah and, well, minds can change.
If you enjoy small town romances, especially those set in New England in the fall, you may really like this book!
With some help from a proofreader and an editor, this could be a really good book. The writing is just a miss for me, unfortunately.
I received an ARC of Falling for the Veterinarian via Booksprout. All opinions are my own and do not reflect on my receiving an advance copy for review.
This book made me smile - a lot! Poor Sarah starts off at the end of her real estate temp job not hired and let go by the company even though she was really good and would have been an asset. The when other ridiculous things happen to her like when her boyfriend who had just moved in with her after 3 years packs up and leaves her for someone else, her aunt calls and tells her to come visit in Vermont. This is what Sarah needs to get away from everything and regroup. In Vermont and in the coffee shop she runs into Zack the man who took her coffee back in New York. So begins and interesting love/hate relationship between the two. This is a sweet romance that keeps you turning pages with lots of twists and turns that makes you want more. The characters are relatable as is their trials and tribulations. I really loved the book! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
What a romantic story. Sarah just lost her job, her boyfriend and a place to live. When she goes to get the coffee she oredered, someone had already taken it. It's the last straw. She packs up and leaves New York and moves to Vermont to stay with her aunt and uncle. She again orders her coffee and again it is stolen. And it happens again the next day. The town vet meets her and sparks fly. She finds out he is the coffee thief. From there it becomes a romance. Can he overcome the loss of his wife to find love again and can she forgive him for coffee stealing? Lol. Beautiful story with a wonderful hea.
Sarah is a junior realtor in a real estate company, selling commercial property. She was waiting for a permanent position but instead, she got fired. After that everything starts to crumble down. Zach is a vet who loves his job a lot. He also loves to carve pumpkins and participle in town events. It all starts with the wrong cup of coffee or better said with the stealing of a cup of coffee. Easy to read, funny scenes and a great pet that helps them to get together. I like the carved pumpkin competition and the coffee misunderstandings, and I liked how they got together in the end. Eh... this book was great in theory but the writing wasn't great. Instead of giving details and backstory during the plot, it was basically just typed out like "Sarah turned on the truck. Sarah walked 2 blocks downtown, etc". It was technically written from 1st person dual viewpoint but felt like it was 3rd person and wasn't connected well. There were also too similar names with main characters- sarah/susie/stella, maggie/michelle, etc - and it made everything a bit confusing. It was basically an over simplified hallmark movie but in book form.. it was OK to pass time or get to a certain books-read count but not something I'd intentionally read again.
The romance was cute if not a little rushed. It was a quick and easy read, with a good amount of fluff for a short story. Unfortunately for me, there were several instances of grammar and pacing issues that took me out of the story a little. I would find passages or scene descriptions that didn't make sense. (I.e.; one paragraph the MC was getting to her truck, yet three paragraphs down, she was falling asleep in bed with nothing to note they moved locations).
I feel that with a bit more editing, this could have been a more enjoyable read for me.
Loved the two main characters! The story line was so sweet and all the supporting characters were great too. The town was wonderful and it made me wish there was really a place like that to live. The writing of the story was well fashioned and it didn't need explicit language or situations to keep the readers interest. Loved it! I look forward to more from Ashleigh Quinn
A rough start, but a happy ending. Sarah loses a job, boyfriend and apartment in New York City all in the space of hours. Luckily her Aunt Michelle has a solution, with her seemingly psychic knowing, she offers a home and possible job with a friend in small town Vermont.
Chuckles and sad moments throughout. Along with a coffee thief! (Not once, but 3 times). Fall festivities with pumpkin carving extraordinaire.
I had to pick this book up because at some point in my life I wanted to be a veterinarian. I’m so glad I did. Sarah is a woman who’s life just hasn’t panned out yet. Zach is dealing with his vet practice but also a pretty tragic event. The way these two run into each other was adorable and their chemistry was amazing. Perfect quick read.

Read this when you want to chuckle and settle in for a cozy read with a happy ending. The variety of characters gives the story texture and interest. The switching between Sarah's viewpoint and Zack's gives each of them some depth and adds a fun zing to their love story.
Sarah is having a rough day, she's lost her job and her boyfriend leaves her. Her job couldn't afford her pay and her boyfriend found someone else. She's also broken her lease because her boyfriend lived with her so now she had to leave there too. Zach is a Vet that she starts to work for and they eventuality hit it off. This has a very nice love story.
I always love a good small town festival and this one has some great contests. A sweet fun story and Maggie almost steals the show. The coffee stealing episodes are fun and a good meet cute. They both have ghosts in their pasts they need to resolve which cause some bumps along the way. There were a few proofreading issues that distracted a bit. Clean.
Can a coffee stealing veterinarian and an out of work, down on her luck realtor find happiness. They can when everyone they know think they’re perfect for each other and fate keeps throwing them together. I loved Sarah and Zach’s story. We got to meet a lot of really nice people and get a sweet romance.
This was a quick enjoyable read. Good strong, real life situations and Maggie. A lovely festival in a charming town and well written. My only complaint is it jumps from one step to the next really fast, but then again it is a quick read. Kudos to Ashleigh Quinn for writing a good book.
The book was fantastic. Sarah was having such a bad day. Then her aunt/uncle calls for her to come live with them. Then the books keeps getting better and all from there happiness appear. Please read this book. The author is fantastic on writing a great book.
This book is badly written. It’s choppy, repetitive (it kept going backwards in the story to tell the exact same interaction from the other viewpoint), and strangely explicit on unrelated details(I.e. we didn’t need the life story of the secretary she passed on the way in to be fired). This book was painful to read & the characters were not great at personal interactions.
Mistakenly stolen coffee begins the tale of Sarah and Zack. Her life implodes, sending her to her aunt and uncle in Vermont. Zach's life had become empty six years prior. I loved reading about his veterinary practice and the small town love shared with Sarah. Their relationship development had its ups and downs but led to a delightful ending.
Sarah leaves New York after several disappointments to go home to her Aunt and Uncle. She has a special coffee drink that gets stolen 3 separate times that leads her to her new life. Thoroughly enjoyed this story
I liked the fun that these two had in learning more about each other and their competitive streak. The community ity was great two which brought these two together. A enjoyed this light read.

A fun read with a growing sweet romance. Two people who find each other over coffee. Don't want to give away the story line so I'll stop here. I read this story straight through . Had to find out what happens.
A quick read and a heart warming story of 2 people getting a chance at new love after heartbreak. It is also the story of a small town with wonderful characters who support them.
To find one forever love is darn hard but when that love dies and in many ways you die with her. It’s a miracle to find another new forever love like it was with Zack This book is a keeper go out and buy it. Cinda Millar
The coffee thief of Sara's favorite Blend is actually quite the catch. Can they navigate through a few obstacles and find that happily ever after? And finding Maggie throughout this process is an even bigger plus! Loved this bumpy romance.
Late to work, coffee pick up by someone else and died from her job, could anything else go wrong. This starts a delightful story with loving characters. Know you will enjoy this story by Ashleigh Quinn.
The road to love is paved with happiness and heartache as a widowed veterinarian and a young woman with a serious case of bad luck learn that something special can be around the next corner. A small town atmosphere. And an endearing love story.
Cute meet, sweet love story. But there are some grammar errors and one mistake above t conflicting stories about how his first wife passed. But overall a sweet romance.
I found this story very cute, so cute. They meet first in New York and then again when she moves to Vermont. He's a sad widower and she can be a commitment saboteur. He steals keeps stealing her coffee and she gets mad. But it does lead to a happy ever after.
Good storyline, lovable, believable, and no jumping into stuff out of no man's land on this one which is awesome and good writing.
