I absolutely love the introduction!!!!! The author tells us why he poured his soul into this book. It includes so many different things happening in this world today and to himself. His words resonate with many people in today’s world, many verses are blade’s cutting into one’s soul, read knowing you will be affected as a poets words should do, this book does that a lot. I have so many favorites in this book it’s hard to choose, but two really hit my soul. Comparing butterfly’s to moths and Letter To My Future Child. It’s a very powerful read. I absolutely love the illustrations in this book done by Sierra Blasko!!! It’s one of Ben’s finest works!!!!!
I read this book quite a bit before it’s publication, so I’ll definitely be re reading it before giving a full review but I remember really enjoying it. My favorite poem was the one titled “Surface Pressure”
"Conversations" is an incredibly unique colelction. In it, Ditmars captures those snippets of conversation we wish we could have said, will say in the future or want to remember forever. And what a way to capture what is normally so fleeting. Every now and then, there's poetry in daily life and in the words we exchange with each other. Ditmars captures this beautifully, cementing the fact that the words we say can make a magnificent difference in another's life. Well done.
