How’s this for inspiration? Sonia signed up for a two year-long galactic star cruise and now the ship is on literal fire.
Her best chance of surviving this disaster is trusting the one alien she despises. Nothing about the older alien is real, including his silver hair and gray horns. So how can she believe him when he says his heart belongs to her?
Call him a romantic.
Some say he's a traitor. Others say he is useful.
Caldar is used to being distrusted, but when it comes from the female he intends to claim as his own, it hurts.
He’ll win her heart yet, but first he has to make sure they survive long enough to enjoy their Happily Ever After. He’s just a romantic at the center of his duplicitous heart.
Nancey writes fun, fast and flirty scifi romances featuring feisty heroines and out-of-this-world heros. Nancey lives in an old house with her husband and two cats who have complaints with management. When she’s not writing, she enjoys video games, horror movies and anything involving time travel.
This was crazy entertaining but I was soo lost. There are so many characters and situations a happening in this book. I realize now I have to go back in time. Howdy, there Paax!!
Caldar is the twelfth book in the captivating Warriors of Sangrin series by Nancey Cummings and Starr Huntress. I read this story as part of the Claimed Among the Stars anthology, and the authors expanded it wonderfully for this release. I've read books 1 through 12 and eagerly await the next installment—fervently hoping there will be many more! I absolutely love this series. With each book, we not only meet new characters but also reconnect with old favorites—it always feels like coming home. While each story can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the series in order. The recurring characters and intertwined storylines make the journey even more immersive and rewarding. Caldar is a Mahdfel warrior with no clan affiliation—and he prefers it that way. He's an exceptional spy, a rule-breaker who has helped the Mahdfel cause despite offending more than a few along the way. Snarky, handsome, and undeniably hot, Caldar doesn't believe he's worthy of a clan. Yet, he still upholds the Mahdfel code of honor. After a regrettable incident where he offended Lorran’s mate, Caldar finds himself in debt—and paying that debt means keeping an eye on Sonia, Lorran’s mate’s best friend, while she enjoys a luxury space cruise. Sonia is using the money gifted to her by her best friend—who received a substantial reward when she volunteered to marry Lorran, a Mahdfel warrior—to travel and explore. She knows she’s being “watched” by Caldar, and like him, is in denial about her growing attraction. Though Caldar insists he’s only doing this to settle a debt, his actions (and heart) suggest otherwise. Everything changes when tragedy strikes. The cruise ship is attacked by the Suhlik and catches fire. Caldar realizes Sonia is his true mate—and he'll do whatever it takes to protect her. Sparks fly, danger escalates, and the journey from denial to destiny is intense, emotional, and thoroughly satisfying. This is another fantastic entry in an already addictive series. Suspenseful, fast-paced, and full of heart, Caldar has everything I love: strong characters, real stakes, and passionate romance. The character growth, world-building, and emotional depth are stellar. Nancey Cummings is a gifted author who continues to craft original, exciting, and memorable stories. If you want an amazing read, it’s time to dive into this series. It just keeps getting better and better!
Caldar is a Mahdfel warrior with no clan affiliation, but he prefers it that way. He's done so much dirt, wronged so many people, he doesn't believe he deserves a clans help. But he's still adheres to Mahdfel honor codes. He has a debt to pay n in order to fulfill that debt he's been "stalking" Sonia on her pleasure cruise. At first staying out of sight, but later making sure she notices him. He knows she's his mate, but without a clan, unwilling to go the next step. Still he needs to protect her to avenge the wrong he inflicted on her best friend. So honorable, so misguided, so deceitful but overall a true sweetheart. Sonia used a little subterfuge herself to enjoy some "me time" on a two year pleasure cruise. She'd had a friend pretend to be her husband to enjoy the cruise. Earth has a treaty with the Mahdfel warriors that every women (except those who r married) must get tested each year to see if they match to a warrior. When matched, they're instantly transported to meet their "husband" no haggling. Her friend had volunteered n was given a substantial monetary reward n gave the proceeds to Sonia who used it to pay for the cruise n bribe a friend to act as her husband. While enjoying herself she notices an extremely handsome but annoying certain Mahdfel warrior showing up at every stop in the cruise, (the same one who abducted her friend). She's an artist n out of habit when she sees something interesting, she sketches. But she's curious as to why he's stalking her. This story was so endearing n unusual from the norm of the other books in the series but still a satisfying read for anyone who enjoys fated mate stories with a HEA.
Sonia kept telling herself that she didn't like that Caldar was "stalking" her on the star cruise and that she didn't like him at all but she was deceiving herself. Then the unthinkable happened - the cruise ship was attacked by the Suhlik and was on fire. Caldar knew Sonia was his mate but he had no clan so couldn't claim her according to the Mahdfel treaty with Earth. Caldar did everything in his power to save her but then so much happens between the attack and when they become mates. This is a another great read in this series that ends happily for Sonia and Caldar.
Fyi, I haven't read this one yet. It wasn't on the other platform that I saw. I loved the Warlord series, but these books were on another platform that I worked hard on to read, (purchased by $ and time with stupid long ads) and now, I can't read them there anymore but have to BUY them to be able to read again on kindle. It why 2 stars. I've reread several repeatedly, but now I have to start from scratch? Great author, but I'm not sure I like how she does business. There's nothing like giving your loyal readers the bird. I wouldn't mind buying them on Kindle in addition to having them on the other platform, but I think this is crap.
Calder was scrumptious! He called his stalking protective but he was actually slow walking Sonia until she fell for him! And it worked! I loved their banter and how he was so protective of her. I really enjoyed this book.
Sonia finagled her way into a cruise ship to give her space from being chosen for breeding. Calder decided he needed to follow and protect her as his Penzance but of course romance snuck in.
I loved this story! Caldar and Sonia were amazing. They made me laugh, especially towards the end. With Caldar's background, he definitely surprised me. It's always great to see previous characters. This is another great book in this series.
Di con esta historia de casualidad y la verdad es que se nota que guarda relación con otras historias anteriores así que no la disfrute del todo como se merecía.
Dicho eso, tampoco ha hecho que me anime a leer las demás.
I liked this story. I read it as part of the Claimed Among the Stars anthology. I would like to read the rest of the series. My only gripe is the number of typos, way more than in any of the other stories. If it hadn't been for that, this would have gotten 5 stars from me.
Love this silver fox, he’s so deliciously naughty, crafty and shady but a good warrior and a total sweetie in his heart of hearts, perfect for all that feisty zero chill and awesomeness that is Sonia.
