Mystical Midlife in Maine #10

Pixie Dust & Brain Rust

Rate this book
At this point in my life, I don't need help forgetting things. I just wish I could remember how I wound up being accused of murder...

Someone's been stealing pixie dust from the forest on my property, but I don't have time to figure out who they are or what they're up to. Instead, I've got to track down the missing ashes of a witch who could manipulate the mind. All leads point us to a mundie business where Stella and I find a coven of shady ladies practicing some very dark magic. We weren't looking for a fight, but as usual, we found one. Thank goodness Stella always has my back, and we make it out mostly unscathed.

The next thing I know, Todd's asking questions about dead mundies while his wife and I are arrested for murder. Locked up with memory loss and zero answers is demoralizing and not at all how Stella and I thought this investigation would end. Our loved ones want to help us put the missing pieces together, but we're quickly growing desperate. Is it worth breaking out before we have a breakthrough?

Remember What ? . . .

This book gives us a fast-paced enthralling story line filled with magic, mystery, and mayhem revolving around Phoebe and Stella worried over missing ashes of a mind-manipulating witch and the theft of pixie dust. Arrested for murdering mundies and strangely foggy on the details, possibly something about a coven messing in dark magic, can the ladies figure out what’s going on? Will the truth become known… or hopefully remembered?

Upon their return from the Underworld, Stella, Phoebe and Aidon were met with Selene and Layla. The witch that had stolen Aidon’s powers was now being played with by his parents- Hades and Persephone in the Underwold. Nana, Phoebe’s grandmother wanted to know if they’d videoed any of it. I thought that was hysterically bloodthirsty and just made me love her more. Lol. Phoebe as the Pleiades in Maine- one of the 7 throughout the world was a powerful witch. Her being mated to a God of the Underworld and head of the UIS, Aidon, made her more so. Tarja her familiar is heavily pregnant now, poor baby, as there aren’t many familiars around to protect witches anymore because of the Tainted witches who killed them to gain more power over the years.

All of the books set in this world- from Twisted Sisters, Phoebe’s crew and the Backside of 40 set up in England, etc. something big is coming and it seems like more and more Gods and Goddesses of yore better get up off their bums and pay attention = even if they aren’t really allowed to be involved- they can pay attention!

Nina, Phoebe’s daughter is amazing for a teenager- she has already come up with quite a few new spells that help out. Someone has stolen the urn of a memory witch’s ashes and someone has stolen pixie dust from Phoebe’s land. So that is the new case they are on. Some majorly bad juju happens and everything hits the fan! I mean come on! Can’t they catch a break and take a freakin breather without having to be constantly on the go?!

I feel bad for them. I’m exhausted just reading about it! Lol

They meet a new werewolf Alpha in all of the hullabaloo- is this a romance for Layla- please please lol. She may kill him first! Lol. Wait until you see what pixie dust can do! Wowzers. My brain went WHAT-???? Like two dozen times. Lol This book was so good it kept up with the previous books in the series as well as the other books and I want more crossovers lol. I can’t wait for the next book!

OMG! This book was amazing but then again every book I have read by Brenda Trim I have loved! Another book that deserves a higher rating than 5 stars

Pixie Dust and Brain Rust is the 10th book in the Mystical Midlife in Maine series and I can't get enough! I hope this series will run for a long time to come. I don't ever want to say goodbye to Phoebe and the gang in Maine.

You can imagine by the title that something is up in Maine again. Poor Phoebe just wants the paranormal communities to get along with each other BUT throw in some tainted witches and all heck breaks loose. Phoebe being one of the Pleiades witches she is in charge of her territory and trying to capture the tainted witches isn't easy. The tainted are after Phoebe's powers and they try everything to get it.

The story line was amazing and I don't like to give it away when I review but if you read this series you are in for a rollercoaster of a ride. The action is non stop and each book will pull you in and then spit you out when you finish the book. I've loved each and every book for that reason. It is hard to find books that keep you reading and you don't want to put it down. Brenda Trim's books do just that I usually finish them within 24 hours. Like I did this one.

The characters are amazing and you have witches, shifters, ghosts, pixies, and Aidoneus, the son of Hades! Everything a paranormal book needs. Did I mention that Phoebe is over 40 years old and she kicks butt while starting symptoms of menopause? No? Well, let me tell you even though menopause is rearing its ugly head Phoebe comes out on top most of the time.

Highly recommend this book and series!

I read this one in record time! Phoebe and the gang have their work cut out in this one. First, Phoebe and Stella leave the house to talk to a witch about her best friend and come back with no memories of what happened. Then they get arrested for murder! Yep. Booked, fingerprinted, photographed, dressed in orange, and tossed in a cell. Worse, they wake up in jail the next morning with no idea why they are there. (Sounds like my twenties😁.) Missing pixie dust, stolen guns, Tainted witches. WTF? Jump in and see how the heck they get out of this mess. Hint: it ain't easy.

the incredible powers of the tiny yet mighty pixies are explored, mixed with missing memories, more demons, and accusations of murder

things are getting harder and further along for Tarja. delivery of her kits seems near, and her pregnancy leaves some vulnerabilities for Phoebe and the gang

it is interesting that every time Stella and Phoebe get big power or spells boosts or growths that little vulnerabilities and small things overlooked make them more vulnerable

desperate and dizzying losses and intense battles rage on.

WOW! Action packed and non stop action from the first page! Trouble and crazy circumstances sure have a way of hooking its claws into Phoebe and her friends! Phoebe and Stella sure get their exercise in brain work and witch work throughout this book. Love how they pick themselves up from the mess of pixie dust attacks on them and how the whole gang pitches in to help them figure things out. Looking forward to the next adventure!

Phoebe, Stella, Aidon and the gang are not given a break, not only do they have a dead witches ashes to find, they find themselves facing murder charges and having to deal with tainted witches who are trying to steal Phoebes powers.

The writing grips you, it's hard to put the book down.

Looking forward to the next book in the series.

A spoonful of pixie dust - Tainted witches wreak havoc and it's up to Phoebe and the gang to stop them. Action-packed from beginning to end with a steamy moment tossed in for a little spice. Overall a good read and a great addition to the series but the ending was dissatisfying. An epilogue would have been nice to wrap things up with a nice little bow. Unless there is a surprise twist? Hmmm.

I love the way Phoebe just accepts and collects "family members" to her circle. Each has their own gift to bring to the group, and the way they all work together to solve whatever catastrophe happens and take care of each other is amazing.

This installment had me totally baffled and the ending was completely unexpected. I could not put it down.

Phoebe and Stella are searching for the ashes of a witch at the request of her daughter. Things go awry and they run afoul of the law. Their mates/loved ones are incensed and ready to assist as well as.... Once again lots of magic, suspense, unexpected twists and turns! Loved it! Received a free copy and am posting an honest review.

I enjoyed this story. The action starts at the beginning and doesn't stop till the very end. The paranormal twist just adds flavor to the mix. The plot is easily followed and the premise is finding the tainted witches who were trying to take out the Head witch, so they could continue their Tainted ways. I do recommend this book.

I enjoyed the and the whole series but the ending is a little to short . There wasn't
a wrap up of the story after the criminals are caught . I was left feeling that the story wasn't completely over .

Overall I usually enjoy this series the most of Trim's Midlife books. However, can she seriously stop having Phoebe vomit and be nauseated/stomach "roiling" constantly? I think she threw up 4 times - seriously? She acts more pregnant than Tarja is. Distracting to the story.

Memory loss and murder

Tainted witches have stolen magical ashes and pixie dust. They have also committed many murders. It's a page turner with humor thrown in. Love the main characters. No cliffhanger and hea.
