I hunted him down. Now I’m on his moth wanted list.
As a female detective for the NYPD, I thought I’d seen everything. But when a string of murders goes unsolved, I’m led into some very dark places. Every witness tells me the same thing. The killer is a creature with red eyes and massive wings. A moth man. A cryptid. Obviously not real.
I don’t believe in urban legends, but I’m used to hunting evil. It’s up to me to follow the leads, and go where the evidence takes me. What I find is a monster. A dark harbinger of doom. Devastatingly real.
But there are even more surprises in store. I never expected him to be so. Darn. Hot. I never expected to become his prey. Now the hunter has become the hunted. And escaping this winged nightmare without surrendering to his dark charms might be the last thing I never do.
Amazon Top 100, USA Today bestselling, and #1 bestselling author in multiple Amazon categories, Loki Renard writes sizzling hot, occasionally dark and twisted stories of dominance, submission and discipline.
Why do my "read" books keep disappearing? Gah. Did I rate this 3 or 4 stars? No clue. I know I wrote a review, but if this is all that there will be, I will say this book was pretty funny. There's some definite instalust and dubious consent, but I'm not mad about it.
I picked this one up based on the cover on KU. This is my first book by the author it's a monster romance. Moth Wanted is a action packed whirlwind adventure that captured my attention right from the start. The characters are lovely I like they both and really felt like I could connect with them. I'm looking forward to reading more books by the author.
There was a certain corniness to this novella that I just couldn’t get on board with. Don’t get me wrong, the spicy bits were fun but…
The corny parts were just SO corny.
Really didn’t like the MCs. Sally was horribly annoying and the moth character KIDNAPS the FMC at the end and CHAINS HER UP. And none of it was fun. The ending was distinctly unfun. Like it all tried to be silly and lighthearted until it wasn’t. Until it was just icky and creepy.

Mothman/Cryptid Romance. Some action and drama, and ALL the smexy times you can handle. The author always turns up the heat in their books and this was no exception!!! I can’t wait for the next book!!
Not really sure how to describe this book. It was interesting, the plot was good but I think it could've had a little more depth. We basically come in towards the end of the story. (Not talking about the first chapter -- that's weird -- but the detective aspect of it and it's casually thrown how many bodies there are.) Justice I didn't like, neither did I like Sally for that matter. They're both idiots, and Justice is kinda an abuser. Went immediately to the second book because Tessie interested me much more than Sally.
Read this to fill in a book bingo, and you know what, I really do love me some mothman. Now throw in a weird murder, and we are really getting somewhere. Was this top-tier? Hard to say, but I will say that I really enjoyed these weird science experiments turned lovers 🤷♀️
Sally is a good NYC Detective. There are some crazy things happening. People are saying a moth man has been eating humans. Sure. But when she sees one, she doesn’t know what to think. Justice and his friend Order are in the city to find and take in Justice’s brother Rage. Rage is responsible for a few of the humans being eaten. But how do you catch a moth? I have to say this is a fun story. Sally is a true New Yorker with her colorful language. And the interaction between her and Justice is funny at times. Yes, it does get heated. Her friend Tess and her dog are great. This is really a fun read. Yeah, we have a crime happening but the connection with Justice and Sally are the best. And then it takes an odd turn. Ok yes, I will admit I have seen some “interesting” adult videos with this sort of thing happening with Sally. Sally is tough but is truly a brat. We learn about the creation of Justice and Order. I am looking forward to what Tessie is going to do in the next book.
Whooo.. so I had some pretty mixed feelings about this story. I am aware of the need some people have for the dom/sub relationship and the power that punishment can play in that situation; however Sally’s complete loss of personal agency was repellent and what accounted to rape, even if she was turned on, was repulsive to me. Then it all came down to that typical plot device of simply failing to communicate. In the end, Justice is just a miss-understood good guy doing what’s best for her without bothering to explain what, or why, that is. Sally decides she understands and can forgive him and after they have a short conversation about consent and choice, she decides he was right after all. The sexy bits were hot, but I just can’t get past his heavy handed disregard for her as an individual.
She is a New York detective. Somebody has been killing and partially eating people. She investigates and finds him.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
He is not the murderer, his brother is. He asks for her help finding his brother. She finds him but he escapes with her handcuffs on. They try to trap him again but bad guy escapes again. She finally tracks him down and shoots him dead.
Hero finds out and is not mad. He kidnaps her and takes her home to his lair. Without her permission he laid eggs in her. She gives birth to 3 eggs. They need to harden for 9 months and then they'll hatch.
She decides to stay with him.
Her friend met the hero's friend, a spider called Order, during the investigation. It looks like those two will be the couple in the second book.
Sally was not ready for this crazy ride! When Sally first meets Justice, sparks fly! They have one of those angry love kinds of starts, but it grows as the story does. I loved the design of this story, the way the plot is developing, but especially the way the broken characters find and heal eachother. I mean, Tessa and Sally have a symbiotic relationship and are partners who complement each other. Same with Justice and Order, and Justice and Sally. I really dug this story and I'm looking forward to reading the next book when it's released!
I am so confused.... This is not a nice book. You THINK Justice is nice, but no- he's not. He's a genetically modified mutant with no human contact, of course he's not going to understanding human interaction or personal cues. I am conflicted. I wanted this story to have the feel-good fuzzies a lot of monster books have. I wanted Justice and Sally to have a HEA. And while Sally eventually finds happiness, it's to be used by Justice and his family. The whole thing had VERY non-con vibes. Do I plan on reading the next one? Yes...

I wasnt expecting much from a cryptid romance novel, but this book delivers. Within the first 20 pages there is a steamy love scene. Well written and not cringy. The banter is fresh and at times makes you chuckle. Character development was good but could have been written a little stronger. Sometimes I felt a disconnect with how the character is written and their dialogue. The plot was a basic story but its really the characters that kept you reading. 3.5 spicy peppers out of 5.
Oh I do love it when when Loki Renard sends us a new twisty smexy monster read and Moth Wanted definitely filled a void I didn’t know I was missing…. Sally Holmes (don’t call her Sally) is a NY detective on the hunt for a slasher serial killer but there is nothing about these murders that was connecting until she happens upon Justice a 9 foot tall red eyed, winged moth man…and together they must find the killer.. This story definitely had some fun thrills and steamy twists and I can’t wait to read more…
Action, a crazed serial killer, monsters and lots of steam full this book. I like the plot and characters. Sally, a police in detective, meets Mothman Justice. Each seeks to stop the killer. Sally and Justice have good chemistry. We get a look in Justice's world, and I hope to see more of it in the future. We also get the story about Mothman and the other cryptids in the story
Justice and Sally are so fun together as main characters with Sally’s rough foul mouthed exterior against Justice’s anachronistic hero character. I literally laughed out loud repeatedly throughout this read and probably will purchase this for keeps whenever I need to escape. I would definitely recommend any and all of Ms Renard’s works to anyone interested in book vacations to relax!
Ugh the FMC is supposed to be this badass NYPD detective but gives into all the dubcon/body betrayal without claiming assault? She has tons of other issues against the MMC, but not once does she acknowledge she was assaulted. Listen, I love dubcon, but her acceptance of the body betrayal didn’t fit with her character at all. The whole relationship with the MMC was based on body betrayal and spankings. There was no emotional connection.
Loki's stories have Always captured my imagination and made me fall in Love with them 😍. This story is just as potent, with great action, intense emotions, naughty bad things and Fantastic characters 😊. Thanks Loki, I absolutely LOVE your stories and can't wait to see what happens next 🤓.
Truly this is a story for the monster lover's. There is some consent issues and lots of monsterly sex. Well written and spicy, it is just what monster romance readers like.
This was a good short book. Definitely got some strangeness to it, but that’s expected with monsters. I hope we get to read more about Fury, he seems pretty interesting and a bit more worldly.
This was a very different book and not what I was expecting. The storyline and characters kept me moving forward but I was rather shocked the turn that it took. I also felt like the storyline needed to be expanded with more details given.
Yeah nope. Justice fucking sucks. He doesn't hear a goddamn word Sally says and treats her terribly. I wanted this to be a fun paranormal romance instead I got a trash ML who ruined the story and it would be 10 times better without.
