Then he sees solutions. Then he sees little choice but to solve them, even if that means disrupting the biggest industries in the auto, trucking, utilities, energy, space, telecommunications, air transport, and robotics. He has amassed the top engineering talent available, created the biggest and fastest computers in the world, and built several of the largest factories on earth to accomplish these tasks.
Author Randy Kirk wrote a best-selling book on the business practices of Elon Musk, The Elon Musk Method. Now he has joined forces with popular Tesla news YouTuber, Lars Strandridder of Best in Tesla, to unpack the companies that Elon currently runs.
Elon is Techno King of Tesla, Chief Twit at Twitter, and has every boy’s dream job of firing off rockets every week with SpaceX. He’s built a transportation tunnel under the strip in Las Vegas with his aptly named The Boring Company. He’s planning to enhance your brain with a quarter sized implant in your skull through his company, Neuralink.
Randy and Lars reached out to a pair of scientists to help with the portions that were above their pay grades. Dr. John Gibbs and Brian Wang have added in depth chapters on artificial intelligence, super computers, robotics, communication satellites, and MechaZilla.
You will find yourself flipping pages as fast as you can, staying up way past your plan, and grabbing your phone to find out even more about Elon Musk, Tesla BEVs, Optimus robots, self driving vehicles, SpaceX, Starlink, DOJO AI computers, Neuralink, The Boring Company, and the future of Twitter.
You’ll be amazing your friends with stories and facts about the future that is coming. You’ll be surprised that almost no one is aware that these new products and services are already happening.
You might want to buy copies for your friends and associates who are filled with FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt) about a future brought to us by Elon Musk. There is little to fear and much to anticipate with excitement.
In the book, The Elon Musk Mission – Making the Future Awesome, this Reviewer found an all too positive viewpoint. Granted, Elon Musk and his businesses have heavily affected some established industries – particularly, the legacy auto industry. In case you didn’t know, legacy auto manufacturers are any that make ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicles. I’m talking both gas and diesel vehicles. Ford, GM, VW, Toyota, and Volvo are just a few names that come to mind. Yes, Musk’s inroads into this industry are impressive. So impressive that some, or most, of the legacy auto makers are just now coming out with their own versions of e-vehicles, known as BEV (Battery Electric Vehicles). This is at early 2023. And most of these manufacturers only have one or two such models – maybe with more to come. Only time will tell.
However, the two writers of this book, Mr. Randy Kirk and Mr. Lars Strandridder, remain extremely pro-Musk. Achingly so. They come across like two fanboys who see nothing wrong with their view of Musk’s near future vision. They claim that by 2030, Tesla will have 25% of the auto market. Maybe, maybe not. They claim that by 2035, the age of ICE vehicles will be over. Maybe, maybe not. Personally, I think that is too fast. Yes, there will be change towards more ecologically sound vehicles. But ICE will not go away completely. There will still be museums, preservationists, collectors, hobbyists, etc. who’ll continue to thrive on these vehicles. They will be allowed on the roads – maybe even with races. Though, there will not be many such vehicles at any given time in the future.
I have to disagree. Maybe by 2040 we’ll begin to see mostly BEVs on the roads. The above paragraph may be true, or nearly true, for the younger set – those aged twenty to fortyish. But for anyone over fifty, like this Reviewer, we don’t like change. Especially when change is forced on us. When we voluntarily accept change, well that’s another story.
I only found one instance in the entire book where there showed any form of negativity – page 129 in my e-book version, which states: “Like any other car company, sometimes Tesla has a defect or issue that needs to be addressed. You may have had your ICE car recalled for anything from a faulty suspension to airbag problems. When you need these fixed, you have to go to the dealer. 95% of Tesla’s ‘recalls’ have been fixed using OTA.” (Over The Air.) That is, if you can call this a form of negativity. I find it more like a backhanded positive stance.
This book is too one-sided for me. There should be both positive and negative aspects, as a well-intentioned thought process should be. This book is not that. It’s more like an advertisement. Family friendly. Though not a balanced viewpoint, this book still provides an interesting look into the world that is Musk.
P.S.: If Elon Musk really wanted to improve the human condition—and instituting disruptive inroads in energy, auto, space, robotics, AI (Artificial Intelligence), and medicine is a great start—he should focus on making changes that prevent humanity from continuing to murder, steal, cheat, lie, and so on. This achievement would truly improve the human condition. Perhaps the scientists/engineers within Neuralink can figure out a way to monitor and/or adjust the chemicals within the human brain that contribute to these problems.
From an unknown man in 2008 to one of the best people alive on the earth in 2022. Some may see his autism as an impediment, as he must be impossible to live with and his focus and drive may drive people round the bend. Undoubtedly though, he is at least a possible saviour to our climate catastrophe. Certainly, we can't rely on the politicians who have been in bed with big oil for many years. This book gives a new and refreshing insight into the life of Elon Musk.
Whether you are interested in his work ethic, his background, his Aspergers or his seeming inability to lie, you are going to get to know this man far better and see what his dreams for our planet are. The authors have looked at his life in a new light and have gone into the financial aspect of his businesses to a far greater degree than any other previous book.
This book was so enjoyable, that I couldn't put it down and spent 8 hours reading it from cover to cover. Spend the time and you will get insight into the life of someone and a company that is so rarely seen on this planet. He is good for humanity.
Very inspiring and impressive look at the likely future
Everyone would benefit from reading this book. It is an inspiration and a realistic projection of some of the largest transformations ever. And most of the possibilities are of great benefit to people and the environment. The projections are backed by what has already happened and a reasonable projection into the future. It makes me excited to see what happens over the next 5-10 years.
Elon’s impact on our world (already) is almost unimaginable. The likely growth of that impact in the near future dwarfs what has already happened and challenges our ability to conceptualize our developing world. This book examines those parameters quite realistically. The four contributing writers to this phenomenon offer compelling insight.
Wow, one of the best books covering everything that Elon Musk is involved.
However, it is proving to be overly optimistic when written because we have actual Oct2023 data that is substantially less accomplished than the author predicts.
Still, a book very worth your time to read. Highly recommended
Not sure of all the assumptions or the full logical flow are prophetic or just barely ahead of circumstances. There is room to speculate and these folks do fine
Inspiring, although biased overview of Elon Musk and the different achievements of his different companies in the pursuit of a better and exciting future.
Incredibly inspiring and extremely informative. Excellent book about how the world is being transformed by Elon. Also a great book about all things Tesla.
