Where there was smoke, there was flame, and my world was a wildfire.
Not everything in life was meant to stay the same.
I learned that at Mayfair.
Friends. Lovers. Dreams.
It had all caught fire, and I was helpless to stop any of it.
At least that was what I told myself.
But maybe I was the problem.
Maybe I’d been the one wielding the flame.
Or maybe it was him.
Anson Beyers. My closest friend. My muse. The one who could pull me out of hell while simultaneously delivering me to a new version of it.
My guys hated him, but I couldn’t stop the spark that keeps growing. With new enemies and a dangerous world ahead of us, I didn’t know whether to embrace the heat or run from it.
Not everyone in our world was a friend, but not all were enemies. I didn’t know where I belonged as everything ignited around me.
One question plagued me as things heated up though.
Would I keep my halo while we danced through these flames?
This is book 4 in Mayfair University. It’s one girl, four guys, no choosing. It’s dark, dirty, and twisted. Please check TWs from the author. Part of the crossover world Chaos Universe.
Known mostly for being strange, USA Today bestselling author K.G. Reuss knows what it takes to wear the crown of town weirdo. A cemetery creeper and ghost enthusiast, K.G. spends most of her time toeing the line between imagination and forced adulthood.
After a stint in college in Iowa, K.G. moved back to her home in Michigan to work in emergency medicine. She's currently raising three small ghouls and is married to a vampire overlord.
K.G. is the author of The Everlasting Chronicles series, Emissary of the Devil series, The Chronicles of Winterset series, The Middle Road (with co-author CM Lally) Black Falls High series, Hard Pass, and Kings of Bolten with a ridiculous amount of other series set to be released.

Bruuuuuuuh. I need this fucking series to wrap up. It’s the same BS over and over. And this girl is a fucking INFANT and they treat her like an INFANT. ITS OUTRAGEOUS. She’s a fucking grown woman and they treat her like a tiny little baby. Unless they’re fucking her. I enjoy spice but the story is so not going anywhere. Like what actually happened in this book? The same shit that happened in the last 3 books. Wrap it up. 🙄
Feels like all her books are going with the same formula. Girl falls for a new love interest, and guys hate him at first, but eventually, add him to the group. Bianca and Drake, Anson and Rosie, Sirena and seth. It feels like the same story anymore. And her books are always changing the release dates. It gets old waiting for the next book. EDIT APRIL 2025 Still No New Book for the series. I can't say I'm surprised anymore. Now I've read she wants to make the next book part 1 and a part 2. 🤦♀️ I can't anymore. It's ridiculous at this point.
I will say that the time frame threw me off because it’s prior to Bianca being found out that she’s alive etc so in a sense it was easy to expect what’s going to happen in the book. I also have strong feeling about Anson. I feel like I’m seeing a small patterns of the same things happening in each series ex: a new love interest is introduced and they end up being added as part of their group( as we saw with Bianca and drake) It’s starting to happen with the church series and now Anson and Rosalie. Just getting predictable and repetitive.
Since starting this novel, I have read 13 other books. As I finished and didn’t know how to rate this, I felt that said a lot.
I don’t know if it is because the time frame for this novel is book 3 of the Kings of Bolten series, and we’ve already seen these characters in the most current book dealing with the consequences of books 3, 4, and 5 of that series. Things that are out and open are back to being secrets.
I don’t mind parallel stories — in fact, I love getting new details from other parts of the world. But it just felt like this one was too far back, so I didn’t care about the reveals.
Or maybe it’s because I read Double Dare You in 2022, which has *major* spoilers for this series.
Also, I loved Enzo in the Black Falls series, but now he’s just an overprotective mafioso stereotype, and Cole went from delightful unhinged to “f’ that guy.” Ethan had a few sweet moments, but I felt like he was mostly there to be high. Fox is doing his “I want to be a good guy, but I don’t have the balls to actually do anything” routine. Anson seems like a good option at the moment, but honestly, Rosie should leave them all.
I waited for what felt like forever for this book, and I'm a bit disappointed. This book is filled with crying, sex, possesiveness, and apologies. Redundant, at this point. I don't know if I'm looking forward to the next book or not. Read at your own risk.
I’m really struggling with the Mayfair series - I loved in ruins and was so excited for what was next with Rosalie and her guys - I devour the kings of Bolton books and I love chaplecrest but the Mayfair I’m not vibing with.
Rosalie was always a bit of a wet blanket but in ruins her guys helped her be strong, they did a complete reverse in the Mayfair series and they treat her like absolute shit and she takes it, over and over. It’s tiring and repetitive, they love her but control her, they need her but neglect her, she should leave but they won’t let her - ugh. I can’t stand Rosalie because she’s so weak, she’s so very clearly the opposite of a mafia boss needs in a wife. Speaking of wives, I just can’t with enzo anymore, he’s selfish and controlling and it’s not even attractive, just plain manipulative. Cole has got to be the most irritating, aggravating of them all, I liked him in ruins but this series he just gets worse and worse. He rapes Rosalie in this book and she just goes limp and lets him and non of the guys say anything, enzo did it in a previous book and because they love her it’s okay. Ethan is just a pointless character at this point, just a dumb addict being dumb, he literally adds nothing to the story. I stayed for fox but even he is growing tiresome, he knows Rosalie should go and instead of doing anything to get her gone he just says it over and over again. In the last couple of books he at least played football but it’s barely even mentioned in this book. I liked Anson but this book, I just didn’t. The one thing that irritates me in books like this is if the communicated things would be resolved so much easier without all the little crappy drama bits.
I’m not sure if I’ll continue with the Mayfair series at this point I’d be happy if they died a fiery death ☠️ I can’t wait for the next kings of Bolton as that cliffy left me hanging.
Hahahahahahhahahah, I swear to god, this is the worst book series I have EVER read. It's so bad that I'm almost lost for words. It's like watching a car crash, but I can’t take my eyes from it.
The Horsemen are the most disgusting trash people I have ever read about (except you E, they can never make me hate you). WHY are they dragging Ethan all over the place when he's in such a rough mental state? Leave him alone ffs!
I also thought we were done with all the sexual assaults in that house. Narrator: we weren't. Because of Rosalie staying out all night (at a safe place with Fox(!) and Anson), Cole rapes her the second she got home. Not even a hello before he assaulted her. Fox saw it but did nothing. Cole is so bad with words that he apologised for his behaviour with his 🍆 and Rosalie was okay with it. What the fuck😀 Gotta give it to these charming men 😃
They treat Rosalie like absolute garbage. I've read over 200 books these last couple of years and I've never read about such behaviour towards the FMC from people in a, supposedly, loving relationship.
And if Rosalie doesn't get her Anson when the author have teased us throughout FOUR books, I'm gonna riot!
1/5⭐️ 1/5📝 3/5🌶 (probably more if you count SA. They solves every problem with sex, of course)
A glimpse of the old group dynamics was refreshing
This book definitely felt more like the group dynamics I fell in love with in the original Black Falls series. We once again had glimpses of why these characters are in a relationship. I loved that she finally found a backbone (at least some of the time) in this book and started putting her foot down. I do find myself wishing that she would just run with Anson because he is the only one who actually puts her needs first and is willing to do whatever is needed to make sure she has the life/happiness she deserves. I like that Fox sees that Anson puts her needs before his own wants.
I do wish she wouldn't just forgive Cole/Enzo when they get angry and basically r*pe her. I need her to grow a backbone in those instances and fight back against them instead of laying there and just letting them hurt her. At this point, I no longer care about their apologies afterward or the promises to do better controlling their anger, so they aren't hurting her. It is obvious this will always be how they handle their anger, and it is getting harder to like their characters.
I also don’t like Enzo putting his "traditions" before her well-being/happiness. He basically has given her no choice but to marry him. Enzo is incredibly selfish, knowing her connection with Fox has always meant she wanted to marry him if she had to get married. It is just getting harder to understand why all the other guys allow things that clearly don't make Rosalie happy. They all need to grow a backbone when it comes to Enzo controlling everything, especially when his motivation is completely selfish and not what she truly wants.
The internal dialogue/actions definitely got repetitive at times (but this has unfortunately been a huge issue with this particular series). I still feel this series could have been shortened by removing the overly repetitive dialogue/thoughts/scenes, which would have helped the pacing not feel as drug out and the overall story flow better.
This book was like a long-lost love letter from an old lover for fans of the Black Falls High series. Just when we thought the guys and Rosalie would never be like they were back in high school, this book came and gave us some hope. There are so many scenes where they are so happy, laughing, playing around, and just spending time together. I think we all really needed some of those happier moments to keep us going.
There’s definitely still lots of drama in this though. Most of it centered around Anson. I’m definitely in the minority group, and I hate Anson with every fiber of my being. I don’t care what he does, I will never like him. This book had way, way too much of him for my liking, and I did not like where the ending was going.
Also, if you’ve read the Kings of Bolten series, which I highly recommend, then you’ll get to see Bianca’s disappearance and the kings’ decline from the horsemen’s POV. It was tough to go through that again, but at the same time, it was nice to see how much the horsemen and even Rosalie care about Bianca and the kings.
Throughout this book, KG is definitely giving us breadcrumbs and setting up crucial plot lines that connect to the whole Chaos Universe. More and more things are coming together, and we’re getting hints as to what is going to happen and how. There are plenty of emotions in this, so be ready to laugh, gasp, fan yourself, cry, and be shocked. This book is the calm before the storm though, and we’ve been promised that heartbreaking storm in the next book, so be prepared!
I'm invested so I will carry on reading 📚 but I hate anson we don't need a 5th horseman their is no need for this character in rosalie life. I wish Everett church would just die now an evil death, E I hope we get our happy boy back soon he's been through so much, fox 😢 I'm scared for fox we know we have heartbreak coming in the next book I think it has something to do with fox 😢. Enzo & cole I hate how thy were in this book thy are not violent p×××s thy just want roslaie safe, why are we pushing her into ansons arm I don't trust him I wish he would be killed off but I know it not going to happen. If your new her I still recommend this author her books are amazing but their some characters that grate on you anson is one of them.
This book has been a long awaited addition to our Mayfair family. We know a lot is happening in the entire chaos universe but Rosalie has started to find her voice and her need to find some of her own space is edged out in this story. Anson is trying hard to keep Rosie safe and he knows that if it makes the horsemen mad he doesn't care. She is his focus and he needs her more than air. He is determined to keep her on the future track that is going to benefit her but he's fighting a lot of people in order for that to happen!
This book had a lot of fun moments and really seemed more relaxed even though the world around them is changing fast. We can see the dangers on the horizon and we need to be prepared because their threshold is shaky and the foundation is crumbling!! Happy Reading!!
Yall I am truly reading for Fox’s fate and Anson with a sprinkle of Ethan at this point because FUCK Enzo and Cole. Honestly I don’t really think much happened in this book except for a shit ton of smut (not complaining) and alt POVs to a bunch of scenes from the kings of bolten books, which is fine, it just feels like this whole series has been a whole lot of nothing. But alas I am a whore for this universe, so I am here for the ride and all the information I can gather for my theories board. I will say though, I’m getting a little sick of the “we’ll be better” *one of the guys fucks up immensely* *make up sex ensues* “no really I’ll be better next time” rinse and repeat cycle AND I would love if Enzo and Cole had more personality traits than hating Anson.
Right now my ranking currently sits at: Fox Anson Ethan Enzo Cole
HOWEVER, Cole gets to be tied for number 2 when he has a dildo up his ass. I KNOW KG did that for ME, so THANK YOU! We already knew something was stuck up there so I appreciate it making sense.
Of course I’m going to keep reading this specific branch of the chaos universe, especially since all the fox foreshadowing has me sick to my little tummy, but damn I just wish it gave more like the other books and Black Falls High did!
Anyway I’m onto savage little queen tomorrow and I’m so freaking ready to have my og squad back!!!
I really love KG Reuss books, she’s one of my favorites but this is getting long, and I know she already explain her reasons about how this book was going to be uno thing and something happened to her that got her to write something different, but this book feels like a filler you know?. Nothing really happens. I love the horsemen, Rosie and the kings, but it gets repetitive. And, on the other hand, I really hate when there’s an harem already formed and another guy gets in. Anson, like Fallon AND Drake, makes me feel uncomfortable and it’s hard for to accept them. I mean, I know Anson it’s not in yet but it looks like he’s goin to. Anyway, I love this twisted universe that KG created and I don’t plan to miss any book.
This book…wow. KG has been very clear that this book changed because of circumstances outside her control. I fear these changes will wind up making the inevitable heartbreak even worse.
We get a bit of a return to the glory days of Rosie and her Horsemen in this book. Her guys can feel her slipping away from them as they sink deeper into the world of Enzo’s family. To try and salvage things, they try to give Rosie more breathing room, which winds up bringing them closer together…but there are things outside their control trying to pull them apart.
The happier moments feel like the calm before the storm brewing on the horizon hits. Having had this reminder of how good things can be between Rosie and her guys, I know it’s going to make the arrival of the storm even more devastating. Enjoy your hearts while they’re still in one piece, because they won’t stay that way.
Picking right up from the cliffhanger ending ofOn The Edge,Rosie and Horsemen aka Fox, Ethan, Cole and Enzo are back again in the 4th book fromMayfair Universityseries;Into The Fireby author K.G. Reuss.
Into The Firesaw the continuation of Rosie and Horsemen aka Fox, Ethan, Cole and Enzo navigating their way through college, whilst juggling their personal lives that connected them but also separated them in terms of what they had going on from the likes of Mafia business, Sugar's expansion, sports and music. Simultaneously working on their relationship that continued to have them navigating upon a rocky terrain from the hurdles thrown in their path leading to tempers flaring and steam fogging up the windows from the temperatures flying off the charts given the sizzling, fiery spice level hit. Was it any surprise that their journeys together and individually led to a super emotionally charged rollercoaster? No, of course not. It flew off the pages effortlessly with momentum, sometimes impacting you from the major punches it packed hitting you deep from within.
In comparison to the previous books fromMayfair Universityseries,Into The Firewas most definitely the lesser of being intense, scary and painful. But that’s not to say it wasn’t there, especially from the emotionally aspect because it was, considering the emotionally charged journey you were taken upon alongside them. Whilst there was a lot going on, the focus heavily came from their relationships given the importance it played in the story. From the highs and lows and the ups and downs, even with their love for one another being very much strong and alive, beating hard and fast between Rosie and her Horsemen aka Fox, Ethan, Cole and Enzo. The struggles were very much real too, which slowly yet surely led to cracks appearing between Rosie and the guys, in part due to Anson and his presence, leading you to be gripped on even more and tighter too with wondering what this could all mean. Whilst being on the edge of your seat, biting your nails in anticipation from the hold they had on you, watching and waiting to see where it would go for Rosie, Fox, Ethan, Cole and Enzo. And whether it would lead to long term effects that had yet to be made known.
With the characters of Rosie, Fox, Ethan, Cole and Enzo, we were showcased more changes they were going through. Then again that was to be expected, all of which was courtesy of their inner monologue within their POV chapters that continued to open them up, seeing further exploration, some of which came from still dealing with past trauma that never went away, particularly for Ethan, Cole and Rosie. Something in my honest opinion was great to see, since these things never do go away and so to see author K.G. still bringing it up added and showed a genuine and realistic feel to the characters. Knowing it’s still a constant in their life, no matter what and regardless of how many years have passed since the events of the incidents.
The cliffhanger ofInto The Firemay not have been painful, since author K.G. Reuss didn’t leave you hanging on a torturous ending as per her usual M.O. given her title Queen of Cliffy, Suspense, Heartbreak and Torture. However it didn’t stop you from definitely and completely longing for more having been left on the brink of the edge, yearning in anticipation of what’s to come. The way it should be. And knowing there is only one more book to go until the ending ofMayfair Universityseries, safe to sayWhen We Fallcould not come fast enough!
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Well what can I say. It was a wait for this book (4) to be released but as always with K.G.Reuss, it is WORTH the wait.
I am always thinking 🤔"ok Nicola, don't be greedy and just wait till they are all released " but it's easier said than done. Because let's be honest, these books are bloody brilliant.
I love the guys (all 5) not 4 so we have to include Aston from roughly the beginning of book 5 so we get to see him and Rosie have some quality time together and some group bonding 😉🥰 I've even got a feeling that he is going to be really good for E and with the shared abuse they have both had to endure by the same man, maybe they can together get the revenge they both need and stop E with all the drugs.
Ha ha ha 😂 look at me advocating blood and revenge over substance.
K.G is a really good story teller and even though they can be bloody, messy and very scary. They are also full of love, family and commitment.
I just hope they don't do what has been threatened through the story by sending her away while they fight battles they may not come back from because that does put me off a little and find myself dreading it and not in an exciting can't wait to see how they all come back together way. I want all 6 of them to stick together.
I think its bloody cruel that Fox has no say in if can marry Rosie, can't be the one to give her a baby, isn't the one she has to worry about taking too many drugs, doesn't have him as a main singing partner anymore. He has been totally pushed aside in this story and it makes me so sad because you know the others are gonna want to kick his bum when they find out who his family is (give him a break woman)😁
I had a feeling when they thought they found the dead Queenie that it wasn't her. I was shouting at my phone for them to take a blood test or something. But I suppose your mind doesn't work when you think your world has ended, poor lads.
I'm telling ya, it's the Dad. He is a rotten sod. They even said in the club that his Dad had annulled his marriage before she died and she started acting differently saying she didn't want to be married anymore before this all happened.
They only had a quick view of a wrist tattoo and we learned Anson used to sit on his Dad's knee and ask why it didn't wipe off when he was a boy.
Also his Mum and Sister were killed (didn't see Mum die) and she told him to get the twins and run, don't look back. Hmmmm. The Dad's best friend hid all 3 kids and Mum so why was that? Why did Fox's Dad run and not just from his Dad but leave his brother too??
I'm telling you that man is bad and he was very interested in Rosie wasn't he. Kept saying about arrangements with marriage and the Father's first rights 🤮 I'm telling ya guys he has his fingers in the underground, the trying to kill our guys parents and our missing Queen.
Our 5 silly guys plus our beautiful flower need to lay all their cards on the table and tell eachother EVERYTHING. Then and only then can they save people they love and come together because we know for a fact that the Kings and Horsemen are good working together. We just need an Archangel to band together with them, bring in both younger brothers and BOOOOOM we will be in for an explosive final book.
Please just keep the 6 of them together for the last book and give them a life (once they beat the snot out of the bad men)🤪 Also and this is just my view, why can't they just all go somewhere and have a ceremony where they each say vows to their girl so she is equally betrothed to all 5.
If you can't tell, I bloody loved this series lol lol. I can't shut up lol.
I love K. G. Reuss and all her books! I really do! I've read the Black Falls High series, as well as Kings of Bolton, and Chapel Crest. With that said, I love how you can fit together pieces between the stories, and see multiple perspectives. I love how the timeline flows, and how you can dive deeper with other characters that you didn't get the chance to with the other books, like Everett for example. As for the characters, I have issues. I love Anson, and Fox. While they both still have their issues, they are able to get past that to focus on Rosalie. Also, finding out both of them are related, and are biologically "Kings" opens the doors to see more of the them in The Bolton books. I'm really excited to see how that plays out. As for Rosalie's men, they can all go f**k all the way off. I felt that way about Fox, too, until the last book and he's been getting better throughout. Ethan's character growth has dwindled to nothing. He's either making drugs, or crying about drugs. I like how he always takes Rosalie's side, but beyond that, not so much. He's spent this whole series drugged up, falling apart, or being just background noise. Cole and Enzo are the biggest disappointment. I absolutely hate them in this series. They don't give Rosie any space to breathe. She's treated like a child one minute, to a dog on a leash the next, but when she rebels and stand up for herself, she's treated like sex slave to be used and abused. AND SHE JUST LET'S THEM! Don't even get me started on the selfishness because it's out of this world and I could be here all day ranting. Enzo is so beyond selfish in this series and I can't believe the group just goes along with it. After seeing how Enzo and Cole turned out, I'd be completely fine with killing them off, and speaks volumes because they were my favorites in BFH. I'm still holding out hope for Fox, and I hope he continues to progress. Honestly, I'm all for Rosie just taking Anson and Fox and giving up on the other three. Which is so heartbreaking for me to say because I loved every single one of them in BFH. The personalities, the dynamic between them, and how each one brought something different to the table. I just loved them all! Now, I just wish she'd leave them and run off with Anson, and Fox is a maybe. They seem to be only ones that actually care about Rosie first, while the others are putting her last and using her as an excuse to do terrible things. Above all, I pray to everything that is holy that she doesn't marry Enzo. He needs a reality check, and to not be in charge of this group. He's just selfish, and on a complete power trip. I'm in the thick of it, so I can't turn back now, and I'm going to finish and see how this ends. Unfortunately, with only 1 book to go, I don't see Cole, Enzo, and Ethan redeeming themselves.
I’ve been so excited for this and KG never disappoints! This book was amazing. Each book in this series gets better and better. At this point I still want to unalive Enzo and Cole though. I have hated them throughout this entire series and it makes me so sad because I loved them in Black Falls. I just feel like they’re being awful to Rosalie. Fox was making me mad for the first couple books but he got better in book three and I feel like he has redeemed himself back to his usual Foxyness. Honestly about Ethan though? I do love him. It feels like he has kind of just been shoved to the back for this book, like KG just decided he’s not as important? He was barely in it and when it did show him he was still kind of in the background. He also only had 4 chapters from his P.O.V. Anson had double that and he isn’t even in the harem (yet?). I love Anson and he is 100% my favorite. I will literally riot if he doesn’t end up with Rosalie. At this point I don’t even care if he’s in the harem. Rosalie and him can run off together for all I care as long as the two of them are together. He’s the only one who deserves her 100%. I do hope Fox and Ethan are included though. In my eyes Enzo and Cole have a lot of making up to do and I don’t know if it can be done in just one book (I’m not for sure how many books there will actually be but I think I read 5); I don’t even know if it can be done in two at this point. I literally feel like Rosalie is basically in an abusive relationship. They are all constantly ignoring her and putting her wants and needs to the side, talking down to her, and Cole and Enzo have both even physically hurt her a couple of times. I feel so bad for her. Fox and Ethan are the only ones who actually seem to care about her; Enzo and Cole seem to only care about themselves. I feel like their characters have completely went downhill since Black Falls. I have hope that KG can fix it because she’s a writing goddess but I’m worried. This book was still amazing and I’m still looking forward to the next one.
This book is one I've really looked forward to, because even though this takes place *before* Savage Little Queen, and we know most of what goes down, there's still a LOT we weren't privy to behind closed doors. Plus there are just some amazing scenes with Anson (and you'll know which ones I'm taking about. Just when I think I couldn't love that man more!) And we really go back to the roots of what made Black Falls High so magical, which is the love that flows between Rosalie and all of her men.
Enzo really stepped up here, and he showed more of his softer, romantic side that had his Sunshine falling for him in the first place. With how much friction these two have had basically this entire new series, it was really nice to see them reconnect in such a beautiful way.
Fox continues to move me to tears with how selflessly he loves his girl-- is it killing him to see another's man ring on her finger? Yes. Is he struggling with his newfound familial aspects and all the implications that comes with, while ALSO championing the way Anson loves his girl? Yes and yes! But he will do anything and everything in his power to make Rosie happy, and I love how he's always in her corner and on her side, no matter what.
Ethan, I really feel for him, but I can literally feel him fading. He's dealing with so much pain, and isolating his thoughts by continuously staying high is going to come back and bite him in the end, and that just breaks my heart.
As for Cole, I don't like him right now. To the point where I wish one of Ansons bullets nicked him. There's absolutely no excuse for what he did, and I hate that he did it. I really dislike that Rosalie forgave him so easily, even though I understand why. He was just my favorite in the harem, so it's really disheartening to see him do that.
I think this cliffy is mild compared to what we're used to from KG, but it definitely sets up the pain for the next book. I can't wait!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **
Definitely read in order because you might have a heart attack if you don't reading what's going on in a different pov. Regardless it's better to read the multiverse so you can get to know all the characters and understand why they are the way they are. She definitely put her heart and soul into this one and unfortunately I was so into the world I didn't realize I was at the end until it was to late. She's the queen of cliffhangers but they always hurt so good.
If your into dark reads this is the series for you. It keeps you in a roller coaster with darkness and suspense along with things you can't guess. She incorporated a lot into this book. With all the twist and turns I couldn't keep up and not in a bad way. Rosie was going through a bit of a difficult time trying to keep her friendship with a son when the guys weren't to thrilled to let her other than fox. But!! Things might be changing for her in the future if anson can do what Enzo asked of him.
This is the book to get a lot of answers from for sure. Right off the bat anson was hands on in more ways then one. He had to step it up a lot with Everett thinking he was gonna do something about him. Well he failed on that sooooo moving past it. Anson showed him who the 🐕 is in that coversation. That cliffhanger! Enzo shocked the ħell out of me. Totally wasn't expecting him to consider anson joining them. But if it gets him the information he wants he's willing to. I'm worried about Ethan but hopefully it's not something I need to stay worried about. Fox has made his plans known, he doesn't want Rosie sticking with them if something happens to him and wants her to go to anson but what happens if Enzo lets anson in the group? They need to have a bit talk for sure before it blows up in their face. Don't worry though our queen will make sure it comes to face soon enough in the last book of this series.
OMG OMG OMG. I swear the Queen of Chaos just gets better and better with each book. If you have not started this series, stop reading this and immediately start Black Falls High, then Kings of Bolten so you can get the full effect of the Chaosverse. While you are at it throw some Church in there too.
This is the book where the cracks are definitely widening with Rosie and the Horsemen. The world Enzo has thrown them into is not what Rosie wants at all. The love and devotion she has for each of the guys and what they have in return for her is so palpable in this book. The sweet tender moments with Ethan, Fox, Cole and even Enzo made me soo emotional. One of the things I love about this series is KG is soo real about the characters trauma. Trauma does not just go away when you fall in love, trauma does not go away since it happened 2 or 3 years ago. There is always something that brings your mind back to that space (poor Ethan is having that all the time). Rosie and the horsemen are all still feeling and dealing with Rosie's trauma and their own feeling about that. We see how much more possessive Cole is becoming with Anson around and I think my murderous puppy will need to eat some more cake, because I think Anson is desperately needed.
To witness the events from Kings of Bolton from the Horsemen POV, man it was rough the first couple times I read it but from another perspective it was even worse. That whole situation is a turning point in this relationship whether or not they all realized it or accepted it. I cannot wait for the final book (and I am preparing for my hear to be brutally ripped out) and then the adult series.
****If you have been reading Kings of Bolton, then this is the book where we learn what happened between Anson and Everett, and man is it good.****
and I am NOT sorry about Macy anymore. She had it coming
The 4th book in the Mayfair series, was incredible. K.G. does an amazing job in drawing you into the lives of these characters - Rosalie, her Horsemen, Fox, Ethan, Enzo, Cole and her Archangel, Anson. Honestly, sometimes, it’s hard to remember that these are fictional characters because we are so invested in them as individuals and through all their ups and downs, we all want to see them reach their HEA. But at the same time, we never want their stories to end.
This book was an emotional roller coaster and the cracks are showing in the lives of these characters. While Rosalie and the Horsemen without a doubt love each other, the life Enzo has pulled them into is not what Rosalie wants for herself or any of them. The expectation and pressure of it all, as well as the danger is creating fissures.
I adored Anson in this book. He is pure of heart and continuously puts the happiness and wellbeing of Rosalie first and foremost. He respects her boundaries with her guys, but his devotion to her is everything she deserves. Not all the Horsemen are on board with him, but I’m hoping with time and action, he’ll be able to prove he’s worth letting in to join. He deserves her and she deserves him.
Throughout the book, you have a sense of anticipation, that something big is building and we all know it’s going to hurt and be gut wrenching when we get to that finale in book 5, When We Fall. Despite this, we must trust the process. We trust that K.G., our Queen of Chaos will guide these characters to where they need to be before they reach their HEA. They are still only teenagers. They are learning and growing and through all their experiences separately and together, they are building character. The journey may be painful but it’s also beautiful because we get to be along for the journey and watch these characters experience all their ups and downs, all the emotions.
Thank you Mrs. K.G. for creating all the series in the Chaos Universe and sharing these amazing individuals with us. I look forward to it continuing in the finale book and then eventually into their adult series.
O.M.G….I am seriously like 😳. I have read some really shockingly good or bad (depending on your view point) cliffhangers and this one seems a little mild but I am like are you seriously going to leave us right when you are getting to the good stuff. I mean I want to know what happens next. I have read Savage Little Queen and know what happened from the kings and Dom’s perspective but not what happened with Anson and the horsemen’s perspective, or should I say the results of what happened. I don’t want to give anything away in case readers haven’t read the Kings of Bolten yet. If you haven’t then I would recommend you do so. It goes hand in hand with Mayfair University series. K.G. tried to not give too much away in both series to be a spoiler for readers who enjoys both series. Anyway, back to Into The Fire…K.G. Reuss did a wonderful job with filling it with lots of drama, angst, secrets, revelations, emotions, all the feels, and soo sooo much panty melting heat 🔥🔥! I seriously and sincerely recommend Into The Fire, Mayfair University series, Kings of Bolten series, Boys of Chapel Crest series (also had some small reference about it), and K.G. Reuss as an author. I have never read any books by K.G. Reuss that has ever been a disappointment. I love the way her books have in some way or another intertwine or revenge each other. I love how I go from one book to another and and keep going until I have reached to where I am now…..waiting for K.G.’s next release (saying next release as I know I will read any of her books as I enjoy all of her books no matter the genre and trope). Happy Reading!!

So many thoughts while reading this one in a single sitting lol. Firstly, since I'm following the Bolten series too I was super confused about the time line, but this book ended up answering a lot of questions I had after finishing the last Bolten book. I am really starting to love Anson after being anti Anson for some time. Unlike many reviewers here, I'm not opposed to a late in the game harem addition, especially when I'm sure they need Anson. I'm almost ready for Rosalie to leave with Fox and join Anson and be happily ever after. Cole is my favorite but he is still pretty toxic for Rosalie and I both love and hate his obsession to knock her up. He's so dynamic and consistent. I just love his character and his chaos and he's just so naughty and fun. Just the type of guy to enjoy a little pegging (saw that coming!!) I keep expecting Ethan to die tragically from an overdose. He's just so sad and quiet and ultimately seems expendable and he will not stop doing an excessive amount of drugs. I get he was abused as a kid, but at this point he's just so boring and I'm so tired of his pity party. Enzo is quickly turning into a villain, I never really loved him, but now I really hope Rosie doesn't marry him. There was a lot of banter and play that reminded me of the groups earlier years, when things were still complicated but they were all filled with hope for the future. Ultimately, nothing new happened in this book and if I wasn't obsessed with the characters I probably would not have finished it. I kept waiting for big action or something major to occur but nothing does.... This might be the first KG Reuss book I'll score less than a five star.
Into The Fire is the fourth book in the Mayfair University series by K.G. Reuss. I have read all previous books in the horsemen series and the Kings of Bolten. We pick up where we left off in On the Edge. We find out about Bianca's whereabouts and see how everything unfolds from the horsemen and Rosalie's points of view. My heart goes out to Dom all over again. The guys are at odds with each other, still teetering between giving up Rosalie or keeping her. There are many unspoken parallels with the guys that I hope they are spoken aloud in the next book. Fox is freaking out about Rosalie's safety and he's pretty much come to terms with dying in this life. Cole assaults Rosalie in anger and we read his POV when it happens so we know he feels guilty and ashamed. But Rosalie needs to stand up for herself more (I hope she does). She takes so much of their stuff and when she pushes back and they respond, she immediately backs down. A new kink is unlocked and explored more from book 3 which I absolutely loved. I hope we get more of that strap-on ;-)
I hope that Rosalie gets the life she wants, but I don't see how she can while still being with the guys. Loved seeing Jamie and hope that she visits more or that Rosalie can visit her. I would love to read that chapter. I don't hate Anson anymore. I actually now prefer him over the horsemen (except for Fox). Book 4 is done! I recommend.
Prepare to be engulfed in a wildfire of emotions in Into the Fire by K.G. Reuss, the gripping fourth installment of the Mayfair University series.
In this dark and twisted tale, where there's smoke, there's flame, and nothing remains the same. As our girl Rosalie navigates the complexities of friendship, love, and dreams at Mayfair University, she finds herself caught in the midst of a raging inferno, unsure of who holds the match.
Anson Beyers, her closest friend and muse, ignites a spark within her that she can't extinguish, even as danger lurks around every corner. With enemies closing in and a dangerous world looming ahead, she must decide whether to embrace the heat or flee from the flames.
K.G. Reuss expertly crafts a narrative that is both dark and gritty, pulling readers into a world where not everyone is a friend, but not all are enemies either. With its raw emotion, intense passion, and unexpected twists, Into the Fire is a rollercoaster ride of suspense and intrigue.
Whether you're a fan of dark romance, twisted tales, or intricate character dynamics, this book is sure to captivate and enthrall. So buckle up and prepare to be swept away by the scorching heat of Into the Fire.
You could probably skip most of this book and still understand the next one. Exactly one thing happened and it was to the side characters from a different book. Every conversation was the characters repeating themselves at each other and the relstionships were completely stagnant.
Rosalie kind of got a spine...sometimes. as with most of Ruess' "heroines" she just kind for sits there while things happen around her, except on this book not much happens at all anyway. Her actions don't propel the plot forward because she doesn't have much agency or do much on her own.
Enzo and Cole, who were already my least favorite because they suck, are increasingly unlikeable and after just a teeny bit of childish sulking, Rosalie forgives them and blames herself. It's getting repetitive and I am losing my sympathy for her character. So of course they'll never change, they don't face any consequences. Ethan was...there and Fox's only line was "take care of Rosalie" which he also told Anson in the last book so we got nowhere with that.
It's kind of heartbreaking to watch Rosalie completely lose herself more and more while the men around her control her every move. Really wishing she'd just take Anson and go. Oh, and this time we got to see the Beatles pop lock and drop it in dance class presumably wearing sunglasses so the sun reflecting from their pale skin didn't blind them. It was much more tolerable than that painful rapping scene (I cringed so hard I skipped ahead a few pages) from the last one so I guess that's somehting.
