After a four-year relationship with Keith Duncan, successful real estate agent Dejah Parker begins to feel like something is missing. Contemplating about what she should do seems like an easy task. However, a surprise pregnancy prevents her from ending things with Keith. At the risk of having to raise her child as a single mother, Dejah decides to give their relationship one more chance with hopes that things will turn around. A couple of months later, after a tragic incident occurs, Dejah suddenly finds herself thinking otherwise but isn’t ready to let go just yet.
Still trying to work things out with Keith for the sake of her sanity, Dejah finds herself in another bind when she runs across Marcus Jones, a local delivery driver. Marcus, who is the total opposite of Keith and very attractive, promises Dejah an unforgettable ride with him. Still reeling from one of her worse moments and not thinking clearly, she believes him and jumps at the chance to be with someone new. Unbeknownst to her, Marcus is not the man she thinks he is and is in fact a convicted felon with a long rap sheet. The thrilling ride she thought she’d experience with him actually turns out to be a nightmare and one of the worst mistakes of her life.
When Dejah finally realizes just how troubling her situation with Marcus is, she attempts to break things off with him, which only causes the monster within to surface. Find out what happens next in Her Final Moments!
Finally Johnathan! It took you long enough to do what you did. It’s time Charisse pays for her actions. Deja needs to run for the nearest exit before it’s too late. Love is not supposed to hurt.
If Marcus & Charrise don't get handled & dealt with in part 2... whew those two need to be together & leave everyone else alone. So sad this happens on a daily basis to women & men and some never escape. Good read, on to part 2.
Whew all these stories were something crazy! The one that stuck different was Charisse and Johnathan. You almost never hear about the woman being the aggressor so I appreciated the change of narrative. That girl was definitely coo coo for cocoa puffs! You would think since she knew first hand how her dad did her mom she would be different. I felt so bad for Johnathan and I really hope after this, he let his sister beat her and be done with it. Marcus was like the devil's spawn or something! Yh I get he got the bad end of the stick with his first girlfriend but he took insecurities to a new level. Crazy thing is after almost killing Amanda he got his eye on fresh meat and Dejah don't nor won't know what happened. All in the name of wanting to be loved. I can't wait to see how it all pans out. Charisse definitely needs her tail whooped though!
This was so good. I had so much love and sympathy for ten year old Charisse but the adult version took me out. Did she not get any therapy after her father beat her mother to death? That’s the only thing I can think of to account for her abusive behavior. I hope Jonathan does not get arrested and Charisse finally gets the help she needs. Marcus is a lost cause and Dejah moved entirely to fast with him. When he slipped up and said he was out of state and not out of the country as he indicted so many times before should have been the first red flag. His temperament and hitting her should have been a reason to pause and try to figure out what she had gotten herself into. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
Charisse is beyond pathetic! She does not deserve a man like Jonathan. She is so hateful that she will end up using Mya to control Jonathan if he ever decides to leave her. Marcus is the devil! I agree with his mother, that he is the type that will never learn. I am surprised that Dejah fell for his game. I hope that she is able to escape Marcus and work things out with Keith. Amanda is the luckiest one out of all of the characters thus far as she was able to escape Marcus and go on to lead a happier and more fulfilled life without him. She was blessed to have her brother and her mother and her corner. I cannot wait to read the second installment.
I feel sorry for Johnthan and Dejah they both don’t know their lives are about to change for ever for messing with ppl like Marcus and Charisse hopefully they are able to leave them alone before it’s too late once again my favorite Author did it again with another great banger I can’t wait for Part 2 cause I need Johnthan and Dejah to realize who they love isn’t the one for them
Wow let me just say Charisse doesn’t know what the hack is wrong with her but I’m glad he go his lick back and on the other I hope Jonathan leaves her alone. Now Marus just feel like us is under touch because he got off the first time . I hope she finds out the truth very soon. I’m so glad Amanda got out I’m so proud of her mother and brother for saving her
I so loved how you touched on the fact that the woman can be the one that abuse their mate as well. I do know that Jonathan needs to grow a set. That damn girl is gonna be the death of him. Then we got Marcus. Apparently he hasn't learned his lesson. I feel bad for Dejah cause she has no idea what she done signed up for. This is one of my favorite ones thus far that I've had the pleasure of reading. Keep up the great work!!!
This story was a page turner, but it seemed disjointed. I struggled to see what the many main characters had in common, and never found the connection. Maybe the commonality is shown in part 2. It seemed there was two stories in one book which made it confusing. The book description doesn’t mention the other main characters which also added to the mystery as to why so many pov’s with unconnected characters.
That darn Charisse is a piece of work. She's letting her past dictate her future. Jonathan definitely got both of his hands filled. Marcus is indeed coo coo for cocoa puffs and Dejah had the signs shown to her but that mouth was more lethal than those hands and she gone regret givin in. Nothing good gon come out either relationship if they continue.
Although the circumstances was quite sad but the stories pulled me in! It was so good! I enjoyed this book. Domestic Violence is too common and it needs to stop. I definitely like how the author portrayed that not only women get abused but so do the men. Everyone deserves to be loved and cherished properly.
Wow. Domestic abuse is real and I loved the way that Lady Lissa focused on being abused by both, the woman and man being abused, point of view. This well written story was quite interesting, flowed well and kept my attention. Charisse and Marcus both were evil individuals and they really need to pay for their deeds. I can’t wait to read book two.
Lissa now you know Part 2 need to be dropping real soon. Between Marcus and Charisse those are two psychos. Honey you brought all the smoke with this one. Can't wait for the next part.
Omg this story was good two monsters a man & a woman in the same situation with people they thought loved them, what's crazy is you never here the story woman is handing out the abuse ,I can't wait for the next part to see how it plays out because Whew Chile!!
Wtw!! Poor Johnathan, he can't catch a break. Charisse is doing exactly what her dad did. Marcus is crazy and I hope Keith with get to her before its3to late. Can't wait for part 2
Even though this book was about abuse it was good. The extra twist you added was smart. All I can say is it’s crazy how she played victim after what she did and had been doing. This book was interesting how it was different but the same thing with the abuse.
Man Jonathan don't go to jail smh author Lady Lisa strikes again! I hope Charisse end up dead. Ooh I hate her, I'm so mad 😠 😡 😤 I hate her. I hope Marcus die too...he another 1 I hate. Let me gone on to book 2.
Lady lissa this book had me like wow because this really happens in real life. It was a page turner and sad at the same time. I can’t wait to read part 2 to see what happens. I pray Jonathan doesn’t go to jail.
What a storyline. DV is very serious problem. For anyone to feel like they have a right to put their hands on another person is wrong. About to read book 2..
This is a helluva banger. This book was a nail biter from beginning to end. I highly recommend this book to everyone who reads. Lady Lissa does it again.
