Seven brothers, all waiting for their soul mates, all born with a gift that makes them unique. A gift that comes with a cost ... if they use their power outside of their domain.

Coleman Mountain.

Matthew Coleman was born with the gift of fire. It dances at his fingertips. He can melt the strongest of metals, making it pliable in his hands, and scorch the earth if he gets angry enough.

You’d think having this gift, and with his brothers', no one could threaten them and no problem could be unsolved.

Wrong.

How is he supposed to get his soul mate to fall in love with him when she’s too scared to venture out in a storm? He’s going to have to show Alanna that, with him, she can play in the rain. Because no storm, no matter how mighty, can withstand the power of the sun.

5 Firestarter and finisher stars!!!!

Oh how I have been praying for this series to begin!!!
THE COLEMANS😱😱😱

Matthew is the first book in the Coleman Brothers books and what a way to start!!! I love this family and wanted ALLLLLL their books! Jamie did a phenomenal job with this one and set up the way for them next 7 books!

This author has written my most favorite MC series and I have a feeling this series is gonna be a fave as well! She has taken these characters and made a world that I never want to leave and they get better with each book. This series will have a different vibe, kind of a paranormal turn as the Coleman’s all have gifts given by the gods.

Matthew is the first and he is a firewalker. The prologue was so brilliant and explained so much.

Alanna made my heart hurt and the relationship she develops with (one of my most favorite characters) Greer is so precious!!! And speaking of Greer…HE MAKES EVERY BOOK HES IN!!! He is so damn funny and had the best advice and is so selfless, although he doesn’t want anyone to know. They all are really.

This book was just wonderful and the epilogue would have had me in a puddle if I weren’t on mood stabilizing drugs😭😭😭😭it was brilliant and sad and so funny!!!

Jamie Begley can do no wrong where I’m concerned!!! I live for her books!!!

Angst⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cheating none
Sexy Time⭐️⭐️
Epilogue ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Plot⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Finally a Coleman - Loved this book!

Alana has had a rough childhood growing up in foster care. Especially with two evil foster siblings.

Matthew has been waiting for his soul mate which happens to be Alana. People thought she was crazy with hearing voices in the wind.

When she winds up in jail in Kentucky for kidnapping. The Coleman's take her under their wings while they wait for the charges to be dropped.

She falls in love with Matthew, learns of the Coleman's gifts, and of course some interference from Greer that makes you cry.

Can't wait for the next Brother's book.

Felt short, almost read like a novella. Didn’t feel connected to Alanna and couldn’t really get into the story as much as I wanted to because of that.

5 star

This is the beginning of the Coleman’s Legacy. This first book tells the reader why the Coleman’s and Porters have the gifts they have. This book sets up the next books in the series. I was not disappointed. There were a couple chapters that were a little boring but not enough to lower the rating. The last few books of Jaimie Begley had me questioning if she was writing the book. I couldn’t tell with this one.

Brilliant ❤️

One of the best books of read this year .

Jamie Begley never ever disappoints with her stories. They are truly some of the best stories I've ever read . They are captivating, enthralling, beautifully written and her characters leave an imprint on your soul. I adore the way she writes her stories and the way her characters come to life .
And this spin off series is just as good.
You will adore the Coleman's series the same way you did the Last Riders series .
I promise you will not be disappointed. I wish I could give this book more then 5 stars it deserves a universe of stars .

The book it inself was good and i'm waiting a lot the new series to continue. Especially Silas story, i hope that his soulmate is going to be the deaf girl and not her sister, but we'll see. I usually love everything what Begley writes.

But i must say that after reading firewalker i have thought a lot about Greer. He is one of my ultimately favorite characters ever and I adore his and Hollys story. But after firewalker I was kind of dissapointed on Greers behaviour. First of all, he called Alanna 'woman' and in my head that designation belongs only to Holly, she is his woman.. Petty me, but move on...

In the beginning Greer didn't want to use his powers cuz there is always the price to pay - ex. Porter clans parents died. So he didn't at first want to save Viper and Winters child Aisha. Fine, then he start to use his power occasionally after he and Holly get together. Future promises them 4 daugthers or so I interpreted the epilogue and the mention In Dustins story when Greer gives his hunting gear to Dustins son. And he also is afraid to use his powers not only the price but also fier of somebody In his family to get sick and he can't use his powers to heal them. Very understandable.

But why, WHY, is he willing to heal Alanna when he is already so much debt to 'price' for using his healing powers before. He heals Alannas infertility (which is awesome btw) BUT he is willing to risk the price of, which could be his own future childrens?! He says also that he can't satisfy Holly, so he isn't putting his own damn wife first.

I'm also very pissed that he is loking Holly, his wife, out of his life when he is hurting, but Alanna think that she can be the bitch who is going to get Greer see reason... They don't even know eachothers. AND she thinks that SHE can come every day to rehabilitate Greer when she doesn't even have any gualifications to do it. AND maybe just maybe his god damn own wife wants to be that person?? She doesn't even ask Holly first...

Greer is risking his own damn life, so that some random woman can get pregnant.. He has a daughter AND they are expecting with his wife another one. How selfish... I'm really disapointed to Greer. He should be the ultimate family man but he doesn't think about his own family at all. Cash is made Rachel promise that she can't use his powers anymore because she is a mother and she should put her own family first. Why can't Greer do that? What if the price that he has to pay eventually is his own daughters life? Or his wifes life? Or that they can't get those beautiful babies In the future because he healed another woman infertility...

I feel like this book kind of distroyed his and Hollys lovestory for me.. I'm super sad about this, and i'm constantly day dreaming another ending for them.

This was a ranting from me, because i just love Holly and Greer so much. They need all the good and perfect. The 4 beautiful Daisy girls, and there should only be one woman who put Greer on his place. And that ain't Alanna.

Firewalker is the first book in The Colemans’ Legacy Series by Jamie Begley. This romance revolves around Matthew Coleman and his soon to be leading lady Alanna.

But before we get started on reviewing their story, let me talk a little about this series and all that’s to come! The Coleman family have a long lineage of granted gifts. Everything from Fire Walking to Reading The Stars and Predicting the Future. But with great gifts come great consequences. For starters, if a Coleman uses their granted gift off the mountain, also known as their home, they will have to pay a price.. And we’re not talking dollar signs… If you’re familiar and a fan of Greer Porter due to his special healing gifts, you are in for a treat. I have a feeling this series is going to be a one of a kind, kind of fantastic series!

Now let’s discuss Firewalker and all that went into Matthew and Alanna’s story.

Alanna has found herself in the hot seat, locked up, and behind bars for a crime she did not commit. For someone else, this would be their own living hell. But for Alanna, she finds herself feeling the safest she's ever felt. But sometimes fate is unrelinquishing and refuses to step aside. When her lawyer, Diamond Bates, shows up to take on her case, Alanna does everything in her power to turn her away. The fear of growing close to people outweighs the lonely life she continues to live. But somehow, she finds she's doing the opposite. She now has a job working as a housekeeper on the Coleman's property.... little does she know, this is about to be the safest place she will ever find herself in. After all, no one who relishes their own lives will dare step in and threaten the life of Matthew Coleman's soulmate.

My Thoughts:

My mind has been blown!! Matthew Coleman stole my breath and Alanna stole my heart!! These two were a match made in heaven!!

I would first like to add a thank you, Jamie Begley moment. Alanna (the heroine of the story) spent her life in and out of foster homes. Her child consisted of moving from family to family. Along the way, she met two other foster kids, Kate and Owen. When she was a small child, Kate treated her as if she were her little sister. But Alanna was soon to discover, it was all a ruse in a sick and twisted game. Alanna suffered so much abuse, mentally, physically, and sexual…. I want to thank Jamie Begley for not detailing the moments of child abuse, as many authors seem to be doing these days. Whether it’s coming from the hands of an adult, or the hands of an older child….my opinion stands, there is no need for those types of details in romance novels. So thank you Jamie Begley!

I have to say, I loved everything about this novel, but I especially loved the slow burn…no pun intended. I loved the fact that Matthew knew damn near his whole life that Alanna was his true soulmate. I also loved the fact that he waited for her in all facets of life. Yes, ladies… it’s true, we have a virgin hero running around! That can’t be said often in romance novel land. I loved this fine treat Jamie Begley added!

My heart fell hard and fast for Alanna and Matthew’s happily ever after… If I could complain about one thing though, it would have to be the ending. I wanted a few scenes that were not shown but slightly discussed, I felt the ending went by way too quick and was a tad bit fast paced considering the rest of the novel carried that slow burn effect. I wanted more from Alanna and Matthew’s happily ever after…. And that is why I had to drop a star rating.

However, I have to throw in one of the things I loved most about this novel and end my review on a positive note. This love factor had nothing to really do with Matthew, and everything to do with Silas Coleman. And that’s a treat you’ll have to read the novel to discover and experience. All I can say, I can’t wait to get my hands on Silas Coleman’s novel! This man has moved hell and high water for his family, the possibilities are endless on what he’ll do to protect his one and only soulmate! I can’t wait!

Overall, I thought Firewalker was a great first look into the Coleman family’s world and legacy! I need more!!!

I was looking forward to reading the Coleman brother's books, but unfortunately this didn't start out well. While I loved the Coleman brothers the FMC almost ruined the whole book. Honestly I hated her. Even her sad story couldn't sway me from her irritating, immature personality. Also, JB never went into detail of what she even looked like or how old she was. Which was annoying. So she get's zero stars. The plot felt underdeveloped and if you started out just reading this book you wouldn't understand. JB's books are not standalone so ignore anyone that says they are. We first met the Colemans a while back in The Last Rider's books. Then we got a more in depth introduction in Reaper and Ginny's book as she's their adopted sister. The Coleman and Porters are cousins and they all have special gifts given to them. There's a paranormal aspect throughout. The eldest brother Silas we know can speak using the wind. Matthew whose book this is, is a fire walker. They all have a soulmate that is written in the stars known by another brother. Most of the brothers are waiting for their One and are still virgins. Three of them have not waited as they don't put stock into finding their one. Silas had been helping Alanna the FMC since she was a child. She had a rough upbringing which JB never went into so it was hard to have any feelings towards this character. All we know is she's a foster kid that was abused and raped by another foster kid. She treated Greer Porter like shit throughout and I love Greer. Not sure why JB is killing him slowly. He's sacrificing himself saving people and making them fertile without any thanks to be honest. Helping Alanna get pregnant when she was barren caused him to have a stroke. Good grief. Lay off this character seriously. He was manly and hot in his book and now he's barely a man whose hair has turned completely white, and so skinny his pants barely stay up. He's even unable to satisfy his wife sexually anymore. Seriously wtaf? Anyways, I digress. I don't like the direction his character is being taken, and I couldn't really give you anything memorable about the MMCs to be honest. Other than Matthew deserved better than Alanna.

Crap, I should've written this review right after I finished reading! At least I took notes, so here goes...

I absolutely loved this book so much. #Truth... Jamie Begley's writing is at its best when she writes about the Porters and Colemans.

Firewalker made me cry twice. And dammit, it ALWAYS had to do with babies and Greer.T he Colemans and the Porters are the heart and backbone of Treepoint, forever and always. Their sacrifices, their bravery, their love... it is EVERYTHING.

My heart shattered for Silas, knowing how long he has had (and still has) to wait for his soulmate. His happy ever after can't come fast enough.

Matthew going all "Flame on!" like Johnny Storm was all sorts of awesome and definitely a highlight for me. He has that slow, sensual, confident burn... like, literally... *swoon*

I'm left wondering how Kate will come back into the picture since her part was unresolved.

As for what the future holds... GAH! Everything from what happened in the Afterword with Mother... Holy Kentucky Gold!

Bring on book two!!

Jamie Begley is an author whose series I adore. Firewalker is a book I didn’t know I needed—but I did. Although Matthew and Alanna enchanted me, I have to say one thing: without Greer Porter, this series wouldn’t be what it is. I cried—from the funny and charming scenes to the one that cut straight to my core, and that was all because of Greer. I don’t know where this new spinoff about the Colmon brothers will go, but if Jamie even thinks about touching Greer, I will truly be disappointed in the entire series.

Great start to the Coleman’s series. As with most of this authors books for me, once I started I couldn’t put it down. We get the paranormal feel with the family members and my man, Greer, is in the story quite a bit….which made me happy. I’m really anxious for Silas’ story but something tells me that Ms. Begley will be saving him for last.

It was a good start to the Coleman's series, but i felt that the book wasn't long enough. With all the introduction to this family, i thought that it wasn't enough attention paid to the couple of this book, Matthew and Alanna. That they storyline it was rushed, and that i wanted to spend more time with them.

Overall, it was a good start to the series and i look forward to reading the next one.

I can live with an annoying heroine, and I can live with grammatical errors. The extent of both dropped this to barely a two star read.

It wasn't just grammar, words that changed a whole sentence meaning were misused. "When" something happens and "Since" something happens mean two different things.

I like the vision the writer had, I just don't see the execution of it. There are many elements to this and all of them seemed half baked: the soul mates plot, the gifts they had, the family dynamics, their personalities, the main character's past, the romance (0 chemistry). It just seemed to me like things were just happening and didn't get ti know any of the characters. Nothing seemed developed enough to get to know them or at least have some sympathy for them. They were just there.

I finished this book a few days ago and needed time to think about this book. I wonder who wrote this book it came off as a teenager did. Between the errors and the plot I don't know where all the 5* come in. I know from past books it's because of the author not the story. There was no connection between main characters. I stopped reading this author after the mess of Gavin's books but saw this in KU and thought I would give her another chance. After what happen to Gavin do you really think he would leave his child with a stranger. Also just to remind us the words Last Riders were mention twice.

A feel of Jamie of old

I feel this book captures the way Jamie wrote the first few last riders books and the soul of...trilogy. It captures you from the start and keeps you hooked.

Before I get into this I just want to say that Greer is the "chef kiss" of heroes. He literally just brings life to a book. His hilarious actions just add to the story. I have to say his part in this book had me in tears. I wasn't expecting that, which how he suffers when he helps others I should have been prepared but I wasn't. I hope it never comes that we have to see an epilogue of when he passes. I don't think this old heart could take it.
Matthew and Alannah a soulmates. Matthew has known about her for years but has to wait for her time to meet him before he can make her his. What she has gone through is beyond what anyone should have to.
There were a few twist I didn't see coming. The turn around of Elizabeth was a shocker and left me with unanswered questions that I hope get addressed some how in later books.
Also what is up with Kate? Will we see her later and will she get what is coming to her.
All in all this was a great read and had me on the edge of my seat wondering what is going to happen next.
I am eagerly awaiting the rest of the Coleman brothers stories. Hopefully we will get some Last Riders along with their stories.

I love this author's series: the Last riders, the Porters, and now the Coleman's, all blended into one.

Absolutely beautiful 😍

Matthew and Silas have been communicating with Alanna since she was a young girl, guiding her throughout her traumatic childhood until a foster mother provided her with professional help.
After a therapist prescribes Alanna medication, the voices become muted, leaving Alanna's connection with the Coleman brothers broken.

This storyline continues from the previous last riders books.

Alanna is the aunt of Elizabeth, a young woman kidnapped while employed in a lab owned by a last rider's wife.
Unsure whether Alanna is involved in the kidnapping, this book gives explanation of her relationship with Elizabeth and her involvement.

I adore this author but admittedly have had mixed feelings regarding the last books in the series.
Usually the storylines hold me captive and flow beautifully, but lately I've found them underwhelming.

All in all though, I will continue with the series as I am just as dedicated to the characters and can't wait to read where their stories lead.

Alanna grew up abused. Her foster siblings were sadists who delighted in hurting her. Traumatized by the constant brutal assaults, Alanna keeps away from others. When she’s jailed for a crime she didn’t commit, Alanna is glad she’s finally given a place that’s safe away from them. However, she’s offered a job as a housekeeper by the Coleman family. She decides to take the job where she meets Matthew, a man who immediately attracts her. But Alanna is scared of him, of men and sex, so she struggles to accept his kindness.

This story is a little hard to follow along with because it starts off with only vague mentions of Alanna’s past. She starts the story off in jail. The reason why is kind of convoluted. Her romance with Matthew is slow but easy. Not very erotic, but that’s not surprising with her history of sexual assault from her foster brother. The fantasy element of being a firewalker is only minimal to nonexistent, because Matthew only really uses it at the end to save her. Overall it was okay. I probably wouldn’t reread it because it can be a little boring.

I inhaled this book as soon as I realised who it was! For some reason I didnt realise it was ginnys brothers!!

So so happy Jamie is finally giving us their stories I always loved reading about them. Add in my beloved greer who is one of my all time fav characters of Jamie's, plus ginny and brief appearances from gavin and the other tates this book is a dream for those of us who've read Jamie's entire catalogue and all the interconnecting series.

Yes there's not much sex in it like the last riders which get you hot n sweaty but this is super heavy on story n characters.

Its so easy to read, I read it in one sitting.

As always it leaves me desperate for the next book.

Great writing n story telling.

5 stars of delight!!

If I had to criticise its that I'd have liked to read more about alanna's pregnancy given how special it was and it wasn't on ku esp in current times.

Sublime perfection.

I didn't realize how much I wanted the Coleman's stories until I read Firewalker. Now I need them all. What the Coleman siblings can do is amazing. The way they stick together is awe inspiring.

In Firewalker, Matthew will finally meet his soul mate. He has known of her for a long time but couldn't interfere with their destiny. She has suffered a lot in her past but Alanna continues to carry on even though the horrors of the past keep following her.

The story is packed full of suspense. Intense drama riddled the pages. By the time I came to the end of the story, my heart had more than earned the happily ever after. I hope I won't have to wait too long to read another Coleman story.

A great new series!

I am excited for the next Coleman’s soul mate! What a wonderful job Jamie Begley did with incorporating characters from her other series without them taking over the story. She weaves such a fantastic emotional reading experience.
I sound so greedy asking for more, more, more and just a bit more. I would’ve liked to have read some of the minutiae of Alanna’s and Matthew’s thoughts. Todays reads feel as if the pubs take away alot of the readers joy with these fast and furious endings. Oh well, at least Ms. Begley treated us with Gavin’s trilogy. That was epic!

I'm so excited that the Coleman's have started to get their own stories and we are learning more about this amazing family. We have been slowly introduced to these characters through the other stories from this author and I absolutely loved it!!! It's a little different with elements of the supernatural however, the characters and their storylines will have you hooked from the very first page. This first book in the Coleman's Legacy series is Matthew and Alanna's story and is filled with humour, suspense, drama, action and soul connections. I can't wait to read more about these siblings and see which family member we get to read about next!!!

Worth the wait

I dont want to give too much away. Mathew and Alanna's path to each other will in the beginning break your heart but there is definitely a happy ending/beginning. The end had me balling mostly because my favorite person had to suffer for intervening. I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the Coleman Brothers stories. Oh and if you've been dying to know who Silas's soul mate is you meet her briefly in this book❤️Thank you Jamie for another amazing read!
