This book is aimed at the Intelligence professional, and gives a good overview of the development of the Canadian Armed Forces Intelligence. Having served during those years myself, I can vouch that its factual content is good. It is necessarily a top layer account, speaking to the broad trends. The perennial problem of instability of budgets and studies which are largely (though not always) coping mechanisms for budget cuts is addressed without becoming a rant. I can reasonably claim to be one of the knowledge individuals in the conclusion, and the Branch is certainly a learning organization, driven to be so, as the author rightly concludes, by both necessity and the nature of Intelligence.
