Christy Barritt is an author, freelance writer and speaker who lives in Virginia. She’s married to her Prince Charming, a man who thinks she’s hilarious—but only when she’s not trying to be. Christy’s a self-proclaimed klutz, an avid music lover who’s known for spontaneously bursting into song, and a road trip aficionado. She’s only won one contest in her life—and her prize was kissing a pig (okay, okay… actually she did win the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Suspense and Mystery also). Her current claim to fame is showing off her mother, who looks just like former First Lady Barbara Bush
When she’s not working or spending time with her family, she enjoys singing, playing the guitar, and exploring small, unsuspecting towns where people have no idea how accident prone she is.

My thoughts: BOUND BY TROUBLE is the 4th and final book in this novella series, and it wraps up the mystery that carried through from the beginning. I did solve the who-dun-it before the end, but it still wrapped up sorrt of nicely. If you like cozy mysteries, or know someone who does, this will be a great gift idea. Recommended. I was given a copy free and all opinions are my own.

I've been loving this series and, I've gotta say, this is the best of the bunch!

Like the previous books in this series, this was a quick read that had me turning the pages as fast as possible. I thought I had everything figured out early on. And while I wasn't too far off, I was still completely surprised by some of the twists and turns that took place. I was so happy that we got a definitive answer on what really happened thirty years ago with the bank robbery.

If you're a fan of cozy mysteries and need a quick read, I highly recommend this series. It's full of great characters, an island setting, and intriguing mysteries. You can't go wrong!

Good Read

I enjoyed the mystery of this story and how it was centered on the bank robberies that Tali’s husband was convicted of several years before. I liked that the truth was finally figured out and the crime solved. Good read.

Bound by Trouble by Christy Barritt returns to the Books and Beans bookstore on Lantern Beach Island. Tai is opening her bookstore and feels so accomplished, but of course, someone causes danger to her and the bookstore, striking fear in Tai. The romance is still sprinkled along the edges of the story between Tai and Mac. This time they flirt a little more and question more of their personal motives. The mystery keeps piling higher as the story moves along. I do enjoy how this series has an older hero and heroine instead of a younger couple. Most stores feature younger couples. Nice change of pace. Overall, Bound by Trouble has an adorable cover with a nice cozy mystery in the pages.

I received a complimentary copy of Bound by Trouble by Christy Barritt, but the opinions stated are all my own.

SO. GOOD.

Mac has been part of Lantern Beach from the beginning, but having him front and center for this series has been a REALLY great read. It's extra special to seeing him find romance.

I enjoyed this book so much I finished it in a just over 24 hours. It's an easy read, but Barritt provides a good mystery to solve. I have to admit I didn't figure it out until the final scenes.

We do get the truth about Jimmy and a happy ending.

This is a series you want to read in order to get the fullest bang for your buck.

Disclaimer: I did receive this book from the author, but was under no obligation to provide a review. All opinions expressed her are my own.

"Bound by Trouble" was a cute book with a fun little mystery that is a short and easy read. It is marketed as Christian fiction, a genre I enjoy reading, but there really wasn't a whole lot of Christian themes in the book. The lack of Christian themes wasn't a deal-breaker for me, though. I just enjoy reading books that are clean and entertaining.

For those readers looking for books with heavy Christian themes, then this book might not be for you, though I still think such readers would appreciate it as an easy read between heavier reads.

I highly recommend this book, and I look forward to reading more of the author's work.

This is book four in this series . This time several people who work at the bank where Tali used to work are in town from Atlanta for a retreat. Once again Tali is thrown into a mystery .This time someone is trying to silence anybody that knows about the bank robberies hat took place when Tali husband worked at the bank. Mac will be here again to help Tali solve the mystery and to keep her safe. Tali sister- in- law and niece are on the island as well. This was a goo book and a good way to wrap up the mystery of what happen when Tali's husband worked at the bank . We finally learn who was behind all the robberies . Good series

Another enjoyable series!

I enjoyed the continuing stories of the lives of the people here on Lantern Beach. I liked the mystery and how it was solved.
But, I did not like the references to Harry Potter or the encouragement to read the series, as it has been such a controversial subject between Christians and fans of the series. According to Richard Albanes, in Harry Potter and the Bible, JK Rowling, herself, admits that she studied witchcraft to make the books more 'accurate '.
I don't believe that a "Christian Cozy" should support, or encourage, anything that God is against. Look at what happened to Saul in 1 Chronicles 10:13.

I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. During the grand opening Tali’s bookstore/coffee shop, there is a shooting just outside. Mac goes after the shooter and gets hit over the head. At the same time, there is a retreat for the bank managers from the bank her late husband worked for. Questions abound, and someone tries to run Tali down. Mac would like to solidify his relationship with Tali, but his arrest of her husband still stands between them. A great addition to this series. Action and intrigue abound!

This quick read is of Tali's grand opening of Beach Bound Books and Beans. However, the grand opening is interrupted by the sound of a gunshot and Tali and Mac are pulled into another mystery.
I enjoyed this story as Mac and Tali finally get around to the conversation regarding Tali's decreased husband Jimmy whom Mac helped put in prison for bank robbery. Bound by Trouble not only had enough suspense and mystery but also we get answers about Jimmy. Was he guilty or innocent? You have to read this series to find out for yourself.

More trouble at the bookstore

A decades old crime is ripe to be solved just as Tali has her open house for the bookstore. Mac is on hand to help catch the culprit or culprits. And just as the mystery is solved, a new character comes to town. What aboutvMaisie? Will we get to see her matched with an islander? Will Mac & Tali be able to overcome their stumbling block? Next book, please!

Great story

So many new characters in this book, all I could do was suspect practically everyone. In the end I was surprised but not. Also got the ending I was hoping for. I really hope to revisit Lantern Beach and all the wonderful people there. Thanks Christy this has been a suspense packed enjoyable series. God bless you and your family.

Delightful series with a happy ending.

Christy Barritt always amazed me that she thinks up these quirky stories that have a delightful ending. I am a kind of "the good guys always wins" kind of person. I wondered how Mac would get out of this pickle. But humility always wins. You will enjoy The ending I promise you.

Bound by Trouble

Dear readers, Number 4 in the Beach Bound Books and Beans shared the true story of Tali's late husbands criminal charge about a bank robbery that sent him to prison where he died.Tali always believed he had been set up. Mac and she work out the truth and the real criminals are revealed. This book I read in one sitting. I enjoyed it immensely. You will too.

Bound by Trouble

Tali and Beach Bound Books are at the center of more mystery, suspense and intrigue. This time someone seems to be targeting her directly. A stranger shows up to her grand opening and someone who links her past to the present is shot. Will She and Mac be able to solve the puzzle before anyone dies?

Loose ends are neatly tied in this latest edition of Beach Bound Books and Beans. It's an inspirational suspense where the suspects are plentiful and answers are few. Enjoy a few hours of good, clean fun.

I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.

Grab This One

Truly, grab this one, but you will enjoy it even more if you read the previous books in the series first. Fast-paced and full of twists and turns, I didn’t want to put it down until I had drained the dregs of the last word! Go on! Grab it!

Exciting

Wow. This is an exciting and dramatic conclusion to a great series but can also be read as a standalone suspense story. Love Mac, who is definitely the heart of Lantern Beach, and Tali.

Bound to be a good read

I have enjoyed all of these books. The continuity of characters and location
makes it very homey. The mystery endured to the end as does the relationship of Mac and Tali. I hope another one is on the way.

Yes, there is lots of trouble for Tali & Mac but the truth about her husband is finally revealed! Does it unite them or tear them apart? The conclusion was not what I expected. I also wonder if this is the end of the series. I've enjoyed all of these books.

Romantic suspense

This is a nice book to read as a distraction from everything. Its an above average romantic suspense, but I really like it because the main characters involved are older more mature folks. Nice reading.

Tali is definitely bound by trouble

Seems like nothing ever goes right for her, her bad luck has followed her to Latern Beach. Will Mac be the charm she needs to break this cycle? I hope so.

This book would’ve been four stars but at the end they went into Halloween costumes, Harry Potter, and other Halloween paganism. I just could not stand that part of the book. The mystery was really good and I did not see that one coming.

Mystery and romance for an older couple!

Anyone who loves a clean mystery romance will enjoy reading this book. It's good to see a story about a couple in their 60's falling in love. Well done Christy, as usual!

Tali is finally ready for the grand opening of her bookstore. However, a mysterious guest is acting suspicious and then disappears leaving a crime in their wake. Mac and Tali must delve into their past to solve the crime in the present. But the truth may be different than either one expected. Will Tali find out the truth regarding her husband and the past before someone silences her for good?

This is book 4 in the Beach Bound Books and Beans Mysteries series. I liked that the ongoing storyline involving Tali's husband was resolved and that the mystery had to do with his past. However, I didn't enjoy the mystery aspect as much this time around. I did think that the end had some good suspense and it was nice to see Mac and Tali reconcile their past. Overall, another good cozy mystery in the series that resolved some ongoing issues but not my favorite in the series as far as the mystery goes.
