The Flames Within

Rate this book
This is book 2 of 2 of the Fated Vengeance duet and can NOT be read as a standalone. Book 1, The Scars Within, must be read first.

Everleigh

My enemy gained the upper hand, threatening the one person I love above all else. Vengeance swirls in my veins, motivating me to train harder, fight harder than I ever have in my life.
If I want my happily ever after with William, I’m going to have to destroy her. While I’m fully prepared to do whatever is necessary, my deepest fear is that it will change me in ways even I can’t fathom.
The darkness threatens to overtake me and turn me into a monster. I’m afraid if that happens, I will lose the only man I’ve ever loved.

William
When I hold her in my arms, I have everything I’ve always wanted, but never thought I deserved. Being reunited with her heals the scars within me, making me strive to become a better man.
I’m preparing her for war, fully aware of the costs associated with seeking vengeance. There’s a risk of dimming the light inside until it’s eclipsed by the darkness Everleigh wisely fears.
But when she comes face-to-face with her arch nemesis, new revelations rock our world, threatening to destroy everything we’ve worked so hard for.

Is our love strong enough to withstand all that is against us? Or will we surrender to the flames within, leaving us nothing but piles of ash?

This is NOT a Standalone novel, you need to read The Scars Within before reading this book. I also highly recommend reading the Fractured Series before reading the Fated Vengeance duet. Events that take place in the Fractured Series are referenced in this book and it will just make your overall reading experience better.

I fell in love woth Will in the last book in the Fractured Series. He's such a wonder, HOT multilayered character. And Everleigh matches him so perfectly. I love how Jennifer brought all the characters from the Fractured Series that we have come to love back along with Everleigh's best friend Savannah. These friends are amazing. I love how they all had Will and Everleigh's back every step of the way. This book will break your heart for what both of these beautiful young people go through as children and even as adults. But they heal and complete each other. The end of this book had me re reading the pages because the twists Jennifer threw in had me making sure I had read correctly. I love one connection she put into the book as I love these 2 characters. And that's the only hint I'm gonna give. I love the epolouges also. I'm happy we are getting one more book with these two. I cannot wait for it. With each book Jennifer writes, her talent for words grows. It's hard to believe this is just her second series. She writes like a veteran writer who has been chugging out books for years. I received an ARC to review this book with my honest opinions. It is a little darker than the other Series but not too dark. Be aware of trigger warnings of child abuse, violence. But this book has a lot of sizzle, and I highly recommend.
