In 1837, Juniper Collins and her sisters are shocked by their father's final request in his will for a special set of beads to be returned to a Piegan Blackfoot woman he credits with saving his life during his travels west. Together, the sisters set out for the trapper rendezvous to find the woman, but their mission turns more daunting when they come upon the mass of men and lodges spread out in the Green River Valley.

Riley Turner came west to find peace and quiet and live off the land, but when four unprotected women arrive at the rendezvous, he feels compelled to help them and is more fascinated by Juniper than any other woman he's known.

As their search brings only empty leads and dead ends, the sisters must decide whether to return east or stay in the mountains to continue looking--and that's if the mystery woman is even still alive. Is the risk to honor their father's last request worth the danger they find at every turn?

I've been looking forward to this book for at least half a year now, maybe more. The second one was on Netgalley, but I didn't request it because I wouldn't have had time to read it then. So instead I put the audiobooks on hold and was finally able to borrow this one.

I've been waiting for book two for three months, by the way, and it says I still got 6 weeks left to go so I'm nothing if not committed to this series!!

I nearly got the physical copy of Rocky Mountain Rendezvous back in October when I was travelling, I wanted to email a bookstore and ask them to save it for me, but eventually decided that I'll listen to the audio first and well...now I want a physical too.

It was such a good intro to this author, I've never read anything by her, but now I want to read everything.

I loved the premise, all the sisters and Riley, (he's so swoony). Usually when there's a series following different sisters (or friends) one of them is clearly the main character while the rest fall into the background, but here I felt as if they were all main characters and Juniper couldn't make it without her sisters by her side and vice versa. Their bond was the best part of this book and I'm so happy I'll get to enjoy it for several more to come.

The romance was of course a sweet slow burn, if there was ever any doubt. Like I said, Riley's swoony, protective and a little guarded, but we love him anyway.

We have a bit of a cliffhanger ending setting up the next book(s), but you could still read this as a standalone if you wanted to. There's even a coyote pup to help convince you!!!! Also, please do get the audiobook, the narrator was wonderful.

I am woefully behind on my Misty M. Beller reading, something I’m very sad about as she’s one of my favorites. But Rocky Mountain Rendezvous kicks off a brand new Beller series, and I’m excited to follow this series from the beginning!

I loved Juniper and her sisters at our first meeting and felt bonded to them as we stared down together at the horde of men arriving for the trapper rendezvous. And yes, I may have wondered whether these young women were as prepared for this rowdy gathering as they thought they were – but they spend the rest of the book proving how strong they really are. Each of the four sisters have a distinctive personality and role in the family dynamics, and this makes me look forward even more to their individual stories throughout this series.

And then we have swoony Riley Turner, who takes the Collins sisters under his wing and provides protection, food and friendship. He also joins their search for the woman they are there to find – an old Piegan Blackfoot woman who once saved their father’s life – so they can fulfill their father’s last wishes. I adored Riley. He was, like the sisters, strong but vulnerable and as Beller unpacked his layers my heart went out to him. Watching him fall for Juniper was purely a pleasure and, as swoony as his kisses seemed to be, the moment that had me melting the most involved a sweet kiss to the side of her head instead. (I’m still sighing over it.)

A colorful band of supporting characters – including an orphaned coyote pup – round out the mix and, as I’ve come to expect from this author, the mountain wilderness comes alive on the pages. In fact, in many ways, it is another supporting character and I felt completely immersed in the setting. It was very easy for me to picture all that was going on, to hear the din of the trapper rendezvous, to smell the mountain air (and some of the less desirable odors haha).

Bottom Line: Take a rugged mountainscape, four sisters, a heartfelt wish, a horde of trappers, some native tribes, a coyote pup, themes of belonging and value, and one swoony hero and you’ve got a new Misty M. Beller story that you won’t want to put down! I was solidly invested in the quest to find Steps Right, and some twists related to that search definitely took me by surprise! In short, Rocky Mountain Rendezvous is a thoroughly entertaining read full of wonderful characters and a vibrant setting. I loved it from beginning to end, and I’m already eager for the next one!

Rocky Mountain Rendezvous will take you on quite the journey out west! I really enjoyed the setting, characters, history and sweetness of the story. This was my first Misty Beller book and I’m eager to read the next in this series as it left off with a little bit of a cliffhanger – and ya’ll already know I NEED TO KNOW what happens next in a book like this! If you love sweet reads with historical elements, the rocky mountain setting, a western vibe and a character driven story, this is for you!

This story is all about Juniper Collins and her sisters, Rosemary, Faith and Lorelei. They travel to the Rocky Mountain Rendezvous in search of a Piegan Blackfoot woman that helped saved their father’s life many years ago. As they settle in the Green River Valley (future Wyoming), they stand out like a sore thumb in the midst of the rendezvous and Riley Turner comes along, compelled to help these ladies in their journey. The story kicks off from here as Riley Turner and his friends take it upon themselves to help these sisters find Steps Right – the Piegan Blackfoot woman.

I learned so much about the early 1830s rendezvous, where traders would meet to trade needed supplies. I had never heard about this so it’s always nice to learn about something in the past like this and research it on my own. It was so interesting to me. This is a very character driven story, I loved the sisters and their bond in strength together. Riley was a nice guy and I loved seeing him try to help them along the way. There was a nice light faith element as well, where the characters pray to the Lord and their thoughts go to Him many times. Some parts were a little slow for me, but I overall enjoyed the story and I’m super excited to continue on in the series. I love the way Misty brought this historical setting to life with a great adventure. Thank you to Bethany House, Baker Publishing and NetGalley for providing a copy to honestly read and review.

What a wonderful story! I loved it from start to finish! Juniper and her sisters embarked on a huge mission to fulfill their father’s dying request. However, it ended up being a larger undertaking than they had anticipated. I loved the way Riley stepped in to help them and offered himself as a guide through the area as they met with several tribes looking for a certain woman. Riley showed himself to be a man who was trustworthy and honorable.

The connection that grew between Riley and Juniper was a slow build and so fun to watch grow. They worked well together on the trail and were clearly drawn to each other. As affection began to grow between them, it was refreshing that they talked things through together and were open about their feelings, even when difficult decisions were ahead of them.

This novel had a sweet romance, an adventurous journey, and interesting characters. Best of all, it is the beginning of a new series! I’m excited to read what comes next.

Review: Anyone with a sister will appreciate this story of four tight nit sisters and their quest. A story filled with plenty of action (but no descriptive gore) and romance, readers will get their fill of both. Readers will immediately fall in love with the excitement of learning more about mountain men in the wild west and their interactions and relationships with the Indians in the area, both good and bad. Throughout the story, romance between the second oldest sister and one of their protectors blossoms, turning from friendship to romance. This is an excellent inspiring and sweet book that readers will want to curl up with.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN RENDEZVOUS is another adventure into the wild western states, taking place in what would become the Wyoming area. There are four sisters with their own unique personalities travelling to the area to fulfill their father's dying wish and a trapper who steps up to help them along the way. It's an inspiring story of adventure, romance and about how sometimes dreams can change.

I think this might be my favorite start to one of Beller's stories. There are four sisters all travelling for the first time out on their own in the west who are all a bit naïve as to the dangers they face and a man who gets himself roped into being their guide and protector. The dialogue, chemistry and humor are all fabulous! The inspirational element is weaved through lightly and naturally, so I felt it wasn't ever forced. The danger and suspense starts as an undertone and then slowly builds to a climatic ending.

In the end, was it what I wished for? This has all the trademarks of a Beller story: adventure, inspirational moments, romance, great characters and a rugged setting. Really, really enjoyed this one!

Content: Some innuendo, but clean.

At the start of this novel, the Collins sisters embark on a quest to carry out their father’s will and give the gift their father planned for the Blackfoot Piegan woman. They journey to the Green River Valley in search of this woman, where they meet Riley Turner.

Riley is concerned for the safety of these sisters, who have just arrived in an area where trapping is legal. He finds it difficult to believe these ladies would take such a risk on their own. They were ignorant of the dangers posed by the wildlife, the weather, and the men in the camp. Riley couldn’t help but feel rather guarded about these women, especially the second oldest, Juniper. Unbeknownst to Riley these sisters had made a pact, they wouldn’t become romantically involved while carrying out their father’s wishes. They wanted to stay together, buy a ranch, and run it the way their father did.

Riley’s battle to keep these strong, independent women safe during their expedition was amusing to see. They had no familiarity with the area or its inhabitants. He couldn’t help but notice that his interest in Juniper began to grow as their quest went on and they revealed their hopes and dreams for the future.

The author does an excellent job of transporting the reader back in time and allowing them to picture what it must have been like for these ladies as they dealt with unique challenges on the open planes. Who knew that while attempting to carry out their father’s final request, these sisters would embark on an unforgettable, life changing journey, face danger, laugh, and fall in love.

This is a wonderful novel to get lost in and one that would work well for your next book club pick.

This was a nice read, and the first of Misty's books that I've read. It was paced a bit slower than what I usually read (Christian romantic suspense) but it was a good change for me. Every so often
I find the need to switch it up with different book genres, and that I enjoy reading so much more when I do.

This book has just the right touches of sweet and clean romance, and is a squeaky clean read for all ages.

The female lead, Juniper Collins and her three sisters were enjoyable to read about, each with their own unique personalities, gifts and quirks. I loved how they planned and thought things through together on their journey, and it was clear how they truly cared for each other. This is a great sister tale.

Their trail guide, mountain man and trapper Riley Turner was an intriguing character, and had a strong faith that was admirable.

If you love old westerns, horses, or history, you'll love this book!

Rocky Moundain Rendezvous is a beautiful tale of faith and family, and is the first in a series that has much promise.

Thank you to the publisher and author for the complimentary paperback I received to review through Interviews and Reviews, and the e-book I received through Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review, and the thoughts above are my own.

This book is a great start to what, I’m sure, will be an amazing series. It was a little slow in the beginning but really picked up and pulled me into the story. Misty M. Beller has a new fan.

This book is an adventure to the Rocky Mountain area, in 1837, that shouldn’t be missed. I really enjoyed getting to know each of the sisters and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of them. Their bond is so sweet, the way the older sisters always watch out for the younger ones and put each other first were my favorite things about them. I really enjoyed their interaction with the trappers at the Rendezvous and the Native Americans during their search for Steps Right.

If you are ready for an adventure to the Rockies full of twists and turns, strong family bonds, and sweet romance then this book is definitely for you.

This story was so well written and enjoyable to read.. Beller is a talented author whose characters are multi-layered and thorough. This is a story full of beautiful historical descriptions of the land around the Rockies and the people that lived in that land, if that’s something that interests you.

Inspirational themes were gently woven throughout with a slow romance that built gradually. I really enjoyed this story and recommend Beller as a go-to historical author for her detailed accounts and well-crafted storylines.

Thank you to Celebrate Lit and the author for providing a copy of the book to me for review. I am not obligated to provide a positive review and all opinions are mine.

As a fur trade reenactor who participates in modern day rendezvouses, I was really excited to read this book. It drew me in right away. The combination of the four sisters was really fun, and I loved Riley. He’s amazing. I had a little trouble understanding why any father of the time would ever send his daughters out west to try to find a woman he knew twenty years ago. Or why he would keep any information from them. It didn’t make any sense to me. And I don’t think even having Riley around would have kept the girls safe all that time, especially the times they would go off on their own. Not in a huge camp of drunken mountain men. It just doesn’t seem realistic.

But, beyond those quibbles and the book feeling a bit slow in the middle, I did enjoy the story, and I look forward to continuing with the series.

I received this book free from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

While the premise isn't entirely plausible (I mean... four women traveling out West alone in that time period without a man for protection is questionable), this fun western story has a lot of history in it that I didn't know about. And I love learning new things from books I'm reading. The story has a similar feeling as the Love Comes Softly series. All in all, an enjoyable read.

An adventurous quest by four sisters in the untried wilderness of the Rocky Mountains in 1837. Juniper and her three sisters set out from Virginia on a journey to find an Indian woman per the request in the will their father left. Ms. Beller details a Rendezvous, a gathering of trappers and natives, a seasonal meeting to trade goods ahead of the long winter. A very interesting part of the Rendezvous was the horse races that passed the time and provided entertainment and showed off the animals.
After arriving with a supply wagon train, the sisters join up with Riley Turner, a young trapper who agrees to lead them as they search for the woman, Steps Right. Along the way, they meet diverse people but find some opposition.
This exciting and informative story reminded me of a Louis L’amour story with its old west flavor but with the added strong faith thread of the well written characters.
A great start to what promises to be a very interesting series.

Netgalley and Bethany House Publishers provided a copy of Rocky Mountain Rendezvous for review:

Juniper Collins and her sisters are shocked by their father's deathbed request for them to return a special set of beads to a Piegan Blackfoot woman who helped save his life. The sisters set out together for the trapper rendezvous to find the woman, but when they arrive at the Green River Valley, they are overwhelmed by the number of men and lodges.

Originally, Riley Turner came to the West for peace and quiet, but he soon finds himself drawn to Juniper, one of four unprotected women, who have arrived at his rendezvous.

If the mystery woman is still alive, the sisters must decide whether to return East or stay in the mountains to continue searching. Are they worth the danger they find at every turn to honor their father's last request?

I give Rocky Mountain Rendezvous five out of five stars!

I really enjoyed this book. I did read book three first, so I do feel like I knew what happened with the overall plot of the book series, but I still liked it. I do think I liked book three slightly better. This book was a super easy book to just get lost into the story. I don’t read a ton of Christian fiction; however, I have always enjoyed it, and I feel like this book did a great job. I liked the setting and how the characters were on an adventure/journey to try to find someone. I listened to the audiobook and liked the narrator; they did a great job. I would consider this book to be an easy read or just something that has depth without it feeling like it’s a super heavy book. The author does a great job with that balance along with the character growth.

This begins a new series with four sisters from the East, venturing into the mountains on a quest to locate a Native woman who saved their father's life, returning her heirloom beads. Each sister has a unique personality, and I loved the way they complemented each other. Rosemary is the natural leader as the oldest and can be a bit domineering, but they all look to Juniper as well for thoughtful wisdom. Lorelei has a soft heart for animals, nurturing a coyote pup on their journey. Faith is enthusiastic and up for adventure, and follows the lead of her sisters. I was nervous for them as they stayed at the rendezvous with all the mountain men and no protector or guardian, even though they had weapons. Riley immediately saw their need for an advocate and fills the role slightly begrudgingly. The sisters learn to value his input, while not letting him dissuade them from their goal. There was a sense of anticipation with each Indian camp they visit, searching for Steps Right. I loved the natural chemistry between Juniper and Riley, and the sweet, slow burn romance that develops. The sisters made a pact at the beginning of their journey to not depend on any man or start a relationship, which provides the conflict in Juniper's mind as Riley becomes more integral to their mission. While they make some discoveries, the hunt for Steps Right continues and it seems that it will be the overarching plot that connects all the books in the series.

If you enjoy historical fiction set in the American west, you have to add Misty M. Beller’s books to your TBR. Rocky Mountain Rendezvous, while a satisfying story itself, sets up a larger plot that I’m looking forward to learning more about throughout the series. There is a sweetly romantic subplot, a pet coyote pup, and beautiful imagery to enjoy in this first book. I’m excited to get to know all of these characters more! 4/5 stars

A heartwarming, inspirational tale of days gone by . . .

The story is set in 1837 in the Green River Valley which later became Wyoming. I enjoyed learning more about the setting from the details the author included in her description of the land and its native peoples.

The four Collins sisters have traveled across the plains for the past two months. None of the sisters is married, and they soon learn that single women crossing the land in a wagon train at this time is unusual as well as very dangerous.

The sisters from oldest to youngest are Rosemary, Juniper (June), Lorelei, and Faith. They have come to the Green River Valley in search of a Native American woman so they can fulfill their father's dying wish. The women are excellent horsewomen having grown up on a ranch, and they are extremely close and dedicated to each other and their mission.

Immediately after their arrival, trapper Riley Turner walks into their lives and becomes their self-appointed protector. He assists the sisters in many ways, and he quickly learns to respect the tight-knit, determined family. He learns that the four women are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to figuring out how to get what they want and need.

As Riley and June spend more time with each other, they discover that they have a special bond—the kind of bond that only comes around once in a lifetime. As the two become better acquainted, they share their deepest secrets and the darkest parts of their pasts with each other.

Another aspect of this story that I truly appreciated and enjoyed was the respectful relationships some of the trappers formed with the native peoples of the area. Their mutual kindness and humanity toward each other was inspirational and uplifting.

The faith thread in this plot is strong and well-written. As a reader, I was prompted to examine my own faith during times of trial and tribulation. The author did a fine job of conveying the Lord's presence in our lives if we will just listen to Him.

I'd like to emphasize that 'Rocky Mountain Rendevous' is one of the best love stories I have ever read . . .

The book is completely clean in language and content. I received a copy of this book from the publisher through JustRead Publicity Tours. All of my thoughts and opinions shared here are solely my own.

Enjoyable story with a good perspective on multiple people groups. Too often native Americans are stereotyped, minor players, or overlooked completely. However, the main characters not only look for a native woman who greatly influenced their father in years past, but they also get to experience the dynamics of different tribes they come across along the way. This story also has a great dynamic between sisters, adventuring into the Wild West, and romance.

Do you have any authors who you always go back to when they have a new release? Misty M. Beller is one that I always trust to give me an amazing story with great characters set deep in the mountains. Her historical aspect of Rocky Mountain Rendezvous hooked me from the get-go. The sisters are quirky and fun and they're not about to let themselves get overruled by a bunch of men. They're women on a mission and nothing will stand in their way. I loved the constant tension the setting provided and how the author guided the reader on a satisfying adventure. I need the rest of the series so I know what happens next.

Nothing is quite as exciting as the initiation of a new series by Christian historical Western fiction writer Misty Beller. Her books never fail to have me reading for hours at a time, usually finishing them in two or three sittings. There is just something enthralling about being transported nearly two hundred years back in time to a period when the American West was still largely untamed and unmarred by industry and development. For me, at least, it speaks to a part of my spirit that longs for the simplicity that has become a casualty of modern technology, for the natural wonders felled by progress. That being said, however, one aspect of Beller’s novels that I appreciate the most is that she does not romanticize the lifestyles and hardships of her characters within their historical context. A simple life does not necessarily equate to an easy one, but when a person chooses to walk by faith, the journey always proves worthwhile.

Set in July 1837 in the Green River Valley of what will one day become Wyoming, “Rocky Mountain Rendezvous” is book one in Misty Beller’s Sisters of the Rockies series. The titular Collins sisters include the oldest and the leader, Rosemary; the second oldest, Juniper; animal-loving Lorelie; and the youngest and most adventurous, Faith. This first book focuses mainly on Juniper, or “June,” who along with Rosemary has taken on the task of raising and taking care of their younger sisters, even now that they are mostly grown, and as a result, the four share an unbreakable bond that has brought them all on a westward journey to find a Peigan Blackfoot woman named Steps Right in order to fulfill their father’s dying request. I found myself relating to the trapper Riley Turner in his admiration of the sisters’ bond, especially as an only child, even as my heart broke for his own circumstances.

Always rich in characters as well as setting, “Rocky Mountain Rendezvous” likewise follows suit with Beller’s previous stories in its diversity of both trappers and Native Americans, as well as the aforementioned Collins sisters. I do think that a pronunciation guide would be very beneficial for some of the Native American names and terms, particularly given that they are historical and not always as easy to research and find. Along with romance and tense situations, Beller also interjects humor into the storyline at opportune moments to lighten the mood, and I am continually grateful that despite at times describing scenes of violence, this author never ventures into graphic details. Likewise, the element of faith is always present without being overbearing, and in “Rocky Mountain Rendezvous” Juniper acknowledges the crux of what we who are followers of Christ are all called to do by saying, “We can plant the seed in the sunshine and water it, but only the Lord can bring the crop.” Sometimes we, like Riley and Juniper, try to take on responsibilities that we are not called to bear, and learning to discern this is part of our faith journey and walk with God. Furthermore, in the midst of the inevitable heartache and trials of life, may we, like Juniper, realize that the Lord is always at work in us and in our circumstances, so that “she couldn’t miss the hand of God clearly working all these things together for good.”

What a surprise, to read outside my usual genres!

Rocky Mountain Rendezvous is a romance set in the mid 1800’s. A group of four sisters embark on a journey to fulfill their fathers dying wish, and with it grow close to a few hunting and trapping men who befriend them. This one definitely is tamer than what would actually have happened in this time period but it was a cute, quick read. Very predictable!

The sisters needed a bit more development. Halfway through the book I was still confused on who was who, and there was one sister that played such a minor role I often forgot she was there.

It took me about 80% of the way through to realize this was a Christian romance so if that isn’t your thing, stop here. It was a very gentle, chaste romance that developed over the course of the book which was actually a nice change from today’s romances!

This book isn’t for everyone but it’s a sweet story of sisterhood, adventure and following your heart.

I was pleased to find out that Misty M Beller had a new series to release called, Sisters of the Rockies. Once I got the first book, Rocky Mountain Rendezvous, in my hands, I devoured it in one afternoon. I loved the historical details that took me back to the 1830s Green River Valley. I adored the main characters, Juniper and Riley. It was quite the adventure to go on with them. It was an inspiring and sweet romance to read.

Rocky Mountain Rendezvous will be getting five plus stars from me. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading books from the clean historical romance genre. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment from the Sisters of the Rockies series.

I received a paperback copy of Rocky Mountain Rendezvous from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Go on an adventure with Rocky Mountain Rendezvous! It starts a new series for Beller and introduces four sisters on a mission to fulfill their father’s final request. Of course, they’re not exactly prepared to handle some of the challenges the Rocky Mountains present, and Riley Turner steps in to help. Their story then progresses with plenty of interesting history, sweet romance, and a bit of cliffhanger to pique interest for Book #2. I enjoyed my time in the mountains with these characters and look forward to getting more answers (and romance!) as the series continues.⁣

“It’s been a while since we’ve discussed the rules we set for ourselves before we started on this journey. It might be good we take time to recall them. Especially the one about not allowing an attachment to form with any of the men here.”

It’s time to visit the Rockies again (as they were in the 1800s) with Misty M Beller as she leads us into a new series, Sisters of the Rockies. Rocky Mountain Rendezvous introduces us to the four Collins sisters, but we get to know Juniper best.

The four sisters arrive in 1837 in the Green River Valley, now Wyoming, at an annual trading rendezvous. Having promised their dying father they would find the Piegan woman who used her healing knowledge to save his life, the young women hire a young and handsome trapper, Riley Turner, to lead them to different Blackfoot Piegan tribes.

Riley and Juniper both are very likable. However, Riley’s childhood leaves him with scars hard to overcome. Juniper may be attracted to Riley, and decides to help him in a way he may not be prepared for. But she must guard her heart, as the women made a list of rules for themselves before coming west. Topping the list was no romantic attachments to men on the trip!

Part of the mystery I figured out. There was some unfinished business at the end, which leads one to believe it will be solved in the next story.

I loved learning about the rendezvous, a new historical event for me. I wonder if Dragoon’s character will grow more in another book, or is he just not a strong person? While I had fun imagining the pet coyote pup and the story flowed well, I really yearned for more vivid descriptions of the gorgeous, dangerous scenery and events.

I received a copy of the book from Celebrate Lit via NetGalley. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.

Notable Quotsbles:

He wouldn’t be his parents. He would be better.

Why did she have to say no to one love in order to accept the other?

Loving someone made you far too vulnerable to the pain of loss, whether they left you by choice or through injury or sickness.

“Even when you think you know a person, sometimes they change.”

I try to take the measure of each person individually instead of labeling an entire tribe as dangerous. There’s good and bad in every village.”

The defining premise of the book is that of four sisters who travel from their home in Virginia to the unsettled frontier in the mountains of the future state of Wyoming. Their reason for such a journey, virtually unheard of during that time period, is to fulfill their dying father's request to find an Indian woman who nursed him during a deathly illness when he was in the wilderness. I just found it strange that without knowing more about the woman and where she actually was and after a period of 20 years had passed, these four young women would journey thus.

But they did.....

And once the guide got them to the trapper's rendezvous (an annual gathering of trappers to replenish their supplies) in the Wyoming territory, their search began. But the problem was these were four young white women amidst a sea of men who hadn't seen a woman in years. Truly a dangerous situation!

The author word-smith's some beautiful landscapes of the mountains and captures the unsettling tensions as the women get nearer the hoard of trappers. And then later when the four women journey into actual Indian camps, the author captures the risk, the tension, and evokes the spirit of the activity.

An interesting story, though not a favorite. I really couldn't find anything to dislike about the story. Just a bit unusual for women to travel on such a mission or adventure.

I love when a book series follows a family, and that's exactly what this series will be doing: following four sisters as they journey through their young adulthood.

One of the many great things about historical fiction is all the new things you learn while reading. For example, I never knew about these rendezvous, where trappers and traders would meet to trade for the supplies they'd need for the next however many months. Nor did I know about the horse races that would take place there. I find these little tidbits fascinating!

Misty Beller is great at painting scenes with her words. You can picture the mountains, the wagons, the lodges, the horse races with ease. I do wish the characters had been a little more fleshed out. I didn't feel a strong connection to any of them, and didn't feel that there was a strong connection between any of the characters themselves other than the sisters.

I think the rest of the series will be interesting, and I look forward to following the sisters as they continue to grow.

Rocky Mountain Rendezvous was a delightful surprise! I’d never heard of the actual historical Rendezvous and loved being introduced to some interesting facts of history through this novel!
Juniper and her sisters were so fun to read about and, growing up in a family with a lot of sisters myself, I found it rather entertaining to compare the interactions between them with the experience I have with my own sisters. So much fun! Riley and his crew of friends were just as exciting to get to know as well!
Ms. Beller never fails to create a diverse array of intriguing characters, relationships you can’t help but care about, danger and adventure that keeps you on your toes and a happily ever after worth rooting for!
