Ghosted

A YA Ghost Story

When Silas moves to a remote village out in the boonies over summer break, he's less than overjoyed at his social prospects. Miles away from town with only a rusted bike for transportation, he'd rather stare at his phone than engage. However, when his parents confiscate his phone and tell him to go explore, what he finds is strange and unusual...

Cranked

The lighthouse keeper takes a two-week vacation every summer, and the town holds a lottery to see who will replace him. Past candidates have either disappeared, died, or come back not quite right, so there hasn't been a volunteer for decades. Until Jake. After reading about the job opportunity in the county paper, Jake applies. Angry at the world, seventeen-year-old Jake is sure that two weeks living in the lighthouse can't be worse than what he has to endure at home. Besides, the town is offering a thousand dollars, free meals delivered, and a mostly quiet place to stay. Jake is sure this is going to be the cushiest job he's ever had.

Switched

The house across the street is finally sold, and a couple moves in. While doing her homework, Morgan looks out and sees a guy about her age in the window on the third floor. As he's staring right at her, she waves, but he doesn't wave back. Mortified, she closes the drapes and berates herself for trying to be friendly.

Who's the boy? Why isn't he in school? Why do his parents deny having a son?

Haunted

What could be creepier than a doll that animates when it's not supposed to?

Based on true events...

Thank you so much to Beaches and Trails and StoryOrigin for the ebooks time read and review.

Four short ghost stories from a haunted doll, to a nightmarish lighthouse, a non moving figure in the opposite house and a ghostly friendship. Each of these short ghost stories are unique and eerie, you’ll be chilled to the bone.

Ghosted: This story takes you to a deserted house, that might not be so deserted after all and Silas will soon find out, then he finally makes a friend in this small town, boys something is off with her. You’ll begetting an incredible scare with this one, it so eerie and has lots of build up.

Cranked: When none of the locals want to work in the lighthouse anymore after each person comes out changed for the worst. They put an advert out and Jake takes the job. It’s a nightmarish job and no one makes it out of the cursed lighthouse the same. A creepy and interesting story full of mystery.

Switched: When Morgan’s best friend moves away and a new family moves in she sees a boy in the window, just staring non moving. The family claim they have no son, so who is he and why won’t he blink. This story is so chilling and incredibly eerie, you’ll be instantly hooked to this one.

Haunted: It’s Halloween and a group of kids gather to share ghost stories, one story is all about a haunted doll that wouldn’t leave the family alone, a true story to boot. You’ll be gripped into this creepy doll story from the start and want to know what is coming next.

This series is so creative and I love that each story is so different, they are incredibly short but pack so much into them. Each ones story is eerie and creepy, you’ll be creeped out and chilled through each one. If you love horror books, or just like being creeped out I highly recommend that you read this series, you won’t be disappointed as they are so entertaining to read.

This volume is a compilation of amazing 4 stories, very much alike goosebumps and a tiny bit of twilight zone, and for all ages, while the stories dwell in other world activity they are scary without being terrifying or having the necessity for gore to keep you going for more.

This author writes in a very natural and melodic way that makes it perfect for a casual reader, easily one becomes engaged in the story, the 4 stories in this book aboard different themes, in the first story our main character Silas is starting again after his father had to move for work, in the second story Jake wants to make easy money with little work, in the third story Morgan just lost her best friend that had to move away and she gets so fixated in who moved in the house that she loses her way and the last story, five friends tell each other scary stories, but one of them tells them a true story and that will creep everyone out.

I really recommend this book for all kind of readers the casual, the avid, the ones that want to read a scary story but are afraid of horror, in here you have scary stories, told in a way that is meant to teach a lesson. Believe me, you wont be disappointed.

Thank you Beaches and Trails Publishing for the free ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Most of us grew up with ghost stories. Sitting in front of a campfire (or even under the living room couch cushions, built into a forth), lights off and maybe a flashlight to increase the spookiness.
Looking back, those old stories were harmless. Definitely scary (especially for pre-teens) but still just simple, clean fun.
It seems those have morphed into horror stories – less about suspense, and lots more gore. And by box office tickets, it seems slasher films, monsters, and buckets of blood sell.
This short anthology is a welcome change from that. Clean “scary” stories about and for younger audiences. Spooky – not gory. Enjoyable and quick reads – these should be the tales kids are sharing under the pillow fort.

Wow. I could almost hear Rod Serling narrate these stories. I really liked them and I know teens would enjoy them. I was hooked as soon as I began reading. I could not put this down until I read all of it. Loving this Author

This is a combination of four frighteningly creepy stories. Very appropriate for this time of year or anytime if you like ghost stories. Each story takes you on an adventure that gives you chills and looking around corners. It’s not horror but enough to have your heart beat a little faster.

What a great bunch of creepies. From the cabin in the woods in the first story to the "perfect" Christmas gift in the last. Great collection just perfect for Fall reading.
