The perfect beginner's guide to investing with comes equipped with a glossary at the very last pages of the book. Kalpana gently introduces her reader to the otherwise complex and difficult world of investing. She uses simple explanation that are straight to the point and even provides some helpful resources along the way, for example which platforms you can use to invest your money into. She delves a little bit into the hype surrounding cryptocurrency too but her whole book is all about making sure the reader has grasped a very basic understanding about the cornerstones of investing.

The book is split into 3 parts followed up with the glossary at the end. The first part gives you context to why cash is making you poor and why investing is important to combat the rise of inflation. Part two talks about the actual, practical part of investing like choosing stocks, shares, the difference between actively managed funds vs passive index funds as well as ethical investing and what to look out for. The last part takes a more self-help, psychological type of approach with mindset, goalsetting and fear.

It is the perfect beginner's guide for anyone feeling interested in the field of investing but may wish to know more about it before they take the first step. It was extremely helpful and I learned A LOT from this book. It may be small but it will teach you a lot and if you want to get into investing as easily as possible, this one is a great place to start.

I’m a beginner to this world, who has only really done research through moneysupermarket before, and I feel like it does do the basics of UK investing well, and gave a good overview, went a bit more in depth to topics I have just started exploring but not too technical. It did make me feel more confident than I was before, and I liked how she was lowering barriers to access.
Only ~3.5 hours in audiobook, so I assume quick a short book and worth the read for me, a novice.

Look, these economically-minded books, they're pretty geographically linked. This one has a lot of UK-specific info. Worth a read, and always interesting to hear about other countries' financial structures, just less practical for those navigating Australian systems.
