Not spooky or seasonal enough for me. It felt like the author just threw all their unfinished novellas into a short anthology without thinking if they were autumn or halloween themed at all. :(

A collection of short smut stories. Some of them are extras for other stories, the main one being fighting instincts. They were alright. The flower one was weird. I did like the superhero one and Stellan.

Look, I was having a fun time... until I wasn't. There were some really great, fun short stories in here and there might be more that I didn't get to. However, two stories in this novella just didn't work for me. They actually messed up my overall mood reading this book and was starting to chip at my desire to keep reading. So here's a small break down of every story that I read with the content/trigger warnings and brief thoughts.
🎃 Sunday Horning: 3.5 ⭐
Content/Trigger Warnings: Explicit sex scenes
This was a fun, steamy gamer story. Compared to some of the other stories in this novella, this story feels the most casual and vanilla steamy story. I loved that video games played a role in the story as a gamer, myself. I think many readers will enjoy their time with this one, but find it almost plain.
🎃 Getting Steamy: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Content/Trigger Warnings: Explicit sex scenes
This is probably my favorite story of the entire novella. I love a good grumpy x sunshine dynamic and this was so good! The scene where the favorite sweatpants went up in flames was hilarious and my favorite scene of this couple. Both the main characters have elemental powers. One has the ability of fire and the other ice. So if you've ever wanted a fire and ice, grumpy sunshine couple like me then you're going to have a great time with this story!
🎃 She-Shed: ⭐⭐
Content/Trigger Warnings: CNC, explicit sex scenes, anxiety & panic
I strongly disliked this story. Consensual non-consent stories/dynamics always walk a fine line for me, but this one definitely crossed it. This was more unnerving and uncomfortable than steamy for me, personally. The anxiety and panic when the steamy scenes start happening is so palpable that it was triggering my own anxiety and it's the fact that the majority of this story we're made to believe this is a stranger/someone the mc doesn't know. Then to have the mc be like, "Having someone else do this to me is so wrong because I'm married, but it feels too good to say no." Big hard nope for me.

Content/Trigger Warnings: Somnophiolia, voyeurism, explicit sex scenes
There's not much for me to really say on this short story. It was a fun, enjoyable time. There were a few kinks in here that weren't my thing, but it didn't hinder my reading experience.
🎃 How to Drive You Girlfriend Crazy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Content/Trigger Warnings: Daddy kink, explicit sex scenes
This was great! Okay wait, I might be a little bias on this. It's a demon romance and you know I go hard for demon romances. However, this was really fun and steamy time. And it's the way these two characters go so hard for each other that gave me all the serotonin boosts.

Content/Trigger Warnings: Graphic near death hiking accident, tentacles (vines, actually), drugging, dollification kink
This was a really wild, fun, steamy time. Even after I finished reading this story I was still trying to process what I had just read. The one thing that would have really made this story is if the author had taken the sentient plant and took if a step further into giving it a voice, personality, something. Better yet, if the plant was a druid or a type of fae. Other than that, this was a really fun time.
🎃 A Bar Full of Regrets: ⭐⭐
Content/Trigger Warnings: Blood, violence, exp0licit sex scenes
I say this all the time, I have problems with people using violence and severe aggression as a means to get smexy times out of someone. Now angry steamy times between an established couple, that's entirely different story, but this is not that. This was also the short story that made me dnf this novella entirely. I skimmed the rest of this short story, but I couldn't care less.
Overall, there's probably more content/triggers warnings for the rest of the short stories in this novella and maybe I'll pick this up in the future to finish the rest of the stories. As for now, my mood has kind of been dampened and I'm a bit reading slumpy from this novella. I do think there's a lot of short stories that are a fun time and if you're looking for a quick read, then give this novella a chance.

Oh la la! Short and sexy stories featuring normal humans but also alphas, and more!
But a big big NO NO to the guy who was fucking his girlfriend/wife while she was asleep. I don't care that they are in a relationship, she hasn't consented and that is a big no for me. I just skipped that whole story. Bye.
And I was very much put off by the one with the plants because it felt like rape (after all she couldn't just walk away or say no). I did read that one, but I felt iffy reading it. And the one with the girl stuck in the shed, I knew it had to be her hubby, but it is implied it may not be him and that just made it eww, especially when she didn't mind it that much.

This collection features 11 short stories. Some of these are bonus shorts with fan favorites like Maeve and Galen from How Not to Date a Demon! Others are just little snacks from Lana’s creative mind! Some of the tales are sweet, some spicy, and some are a little in between. You’re bound to find a short story to fall in love with!
I read this last year and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I’m a sucker for anthologies, but when it’s all by one author that just makes it extra special! Plus I’m sure some of these were from her Patreon so I’m happy I was able to finally read these once she put them out in this collection.

This is really more like a 3.5 as a couple of the stories I very strongly disliked (honestly She-Shed and A Bar Full of Regrets get 1 star both) but the rest were fun!!!!!!! I think my favorites were Exfloration and Halloween Hunt!!!!!!!

I enjoyed reading the different short stories from this author, some from new worlds and some from previous works. I did wish this was written after more from the Cautionary Tails was written because I am dying for more Reid and Nolan 😍😍😍. Maybe a 2nd one will come out with short stories from her more recent releases 😉
It had been awhile since I read Fighting Instincts and the stories from it made me want to do a reread! I enjoyed some of he new stories/worlds. I thought the two alphas fighting then reconnecting was fun, I really liked the plant one IYKYK hahaha (I love some of the more taboo kink/out there subjects so this one super intrigued me and had me super engaged, not knowing what was going to come next!). I usually don’t read F/F but when its in books/series I am reading I always give it a shot. I enjoyed this one, it was so different and kinky and reminded me of the scene from Titanic a little hahaha just paranormal with things that Jack and Rose DID NOT do hahahaha.
I liked being able to read the stories and jump around, and enjoyed seeing a lot of kink inclusion and the steam was done well. Some I wanted more, I know I am too greedy 🤣

Such a fantastic book full of shorts ranging from sweet to spicy and everything in between! Man oh man did I get sucked into these shorts! I could have kept reading every story to see what would happen next. It was soooo good!

The last 2 were the best!!!
The last 2 stories were my favorites!! The writing took me a bit to get used to and some of the stories were not my cup of tea, but it was still fun to read!

This was good, had do DNF 2 of the mini stories inside as I couldn’t get into the story. But aside from that the other mini stories were amazing and super spicy 😈 The plant one, no comments 😂
