We all know of the fairy-tale, We thought we knew the end, But 20 years have come to pass And Malice’s gone around the bend.
Safe inside her padded cell, Her arms strapped up real tight, Only the spiders come to call And ask if she’s alright.
Yet through her haze of anti-psychotics And trauma-induced cackle, A pair of boys she’d never forgotten Return to break her shackles.
So if you really want to know the end Then you’d better come inside, To learn what happened to the delusional girl Who wish she could have died.
Trigger Warning: Unlike the original, all characters in this spin-off retelling are very much adult. Expect steamy scenes, exaggerated episodes, ridiculous rhymes and apparently, alluring alliteration throughout.
Maddison Cole is a married mum of two, and a serial daydreamer. As a huge fan of fantasy romance novels for the past 7 years, she has finally decided to put pen to paper (finger to keyboard doesn't sound as poetic) and begin to write her own.
As a child, life was moving around the UK and a short stint in the Caribbean, before Maddison has found herself back in the south east of England where she is now happily settled. With a double award in applied arts and an A-level in art history, Maddison is just your average musical-loving, Disney-obsessed, jive-dancing woman with a dark passion for steamy fantasy books.
When Twins Malice thought only existed in her head show up to visit her she’s reluctant; they come with an offer to take her back to Wonderland, now known as Wonderlust. However, the twins each have their own agenda with her return.
Maybe I’m easily pleased, but calling her “Malice,” instead of “Alice,” was total genius to me so I was impressed early on. The story grew on me with every twist and way it intertwined with the fairytale blew my mind 🤯
Who can resist a wonderland with a strip club and that was only the beginning - these twins know how to get down & if they’re part of the wonderland package deal then I’m SOO ready to dive into the madness 😵💫❤️🔥

My Tweedle Boys by Maddison Cole is a menage romance retelling. This is the first book in the A Wonderlust Adventure Duet.
I love Maddison's books! Her books will always take you on a wild ride and this book was no different. I will say it did take me a bit to get into this book, but I did I was hooked and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I don't want to give any spoilers away so I will just say I loved that we got Malice, Tweed, and Cash's points of view throughout the book.
I can't wait for the next book in the series Our Malice to be released in July 2023 so I can get the rest of their story.
I would recommend this book if you like menage romances, fairytale retellings, or fantasy romances.
I'm not usually one to DNF, but I really struggled with this one. I made it just over halfway. While I absolutely love the idea and storyline, there are too many editing errors and confusing moments that I couldn't get past.
Title: My Tweedle Boys Author: Maddison Cole Stars: 5/5⭐️ Spice: 5/5 🌶 Spoilers: No This Book Left Me Feeling: 😱😍🥵 Genre: Fantasy Romance Tropes: Vampire, Second Chance romance, Menage, Retelling/Spin Off.
My Favourite Quotes: All of the rhymes!!!!!
About The Book: After Malice returned from Wonderland some not so great stuff went down and she ended up in a padded cell on her lonesome with no way back to the last place she felt at home. That is until an unexpected duo help her escape. But is all that it seems and do these boys have her beat interests at heart? Is Wonderland anything like Malice remembers and can it still be a place where she can feel safe?
What Will Stay With Me: The rhymes. I loved every single one of them and I'm highlighting them all to save and read over and over. I will also be getting the paperback so that the whole story will stay with me but I don't highlight my physical books.
Review: Okay I'm obsessed. I am completely smitten by the entire book and just every single aspect of it. It's gonna be so hard not to give any spoilers but just *screams*. Alice in Wonderland is my FAVOURITE and as you might imagine, that means that I've read many variations of the Alice story and I've been on adventures to so many different versions of Wonderland. This story though is so different to anything I've read before and has quickly become one of my favourites.
I just want to start by mentioning the artwork because not only is the cover very easy on the eyes, but that top of chapter art is to die for! I would literally get that tattooed tomorrow, that's how much I love it. The next thing that really jumped out at me was all of the little rhymes. I could not get enough! I sat for every single one and repeated it to myself out loud a few times, so some of the people on my trains probably thought some colourful things about me but who cares. They were all absolutely perfect and I'm going back through now to highlight all of them so that I can keep them with me and refer back to them because they're just so cool! I'm a sucker for rhymes at the best of times but these one's were so amazing that they deserve all of the praising.
We got to know a lot about the world in this book and the world building was done so well and so seamlessly throughout the story which I love. There's nothing better than catching something later on in the book that you realise was brought up in conversation at the beginning and you didn't even realise it was something the author was trying to tell you because it seemed to so naturally fit there. There's a real art to that kind of writing and it's not easily done, esspecially for me because I can be quite critical. Now for the characters. Malice. This girl is invited to just every single one of my parties going forward, I wanna hang out with her and get inside her head cause she is just exactly my type of crazy. Her thought processes are amazing and her inner dialogue at times had me howling and almost in tears laughing. I don't think I can say much about the Tweedles because I'm trying so hard to stay off the spoiler train here but in short I loved them. Throughout the story I developed a bond and a really strong feeling of empathy towards them. I had times with them where I laughed and times I wanted to cry and then there were the times I was sweating because dangggggggggg!
In short, Maddison takes us on one of my all time favourite adventures through a new and darker Wonderland where we encounter mention of all of our favourite characters from the original book who are all their own special brand of crazy. For absolute sure, we're all mad here and you will love falling down this rabbit hole and exploring Wonderland at it's hottest.
I have always been fascinated by anything to do with Alice in Wonderland so of course I grabbed a copy of this book, however this was nothing to what I expected. For a start it is an adult book full of sex scenes which are rather perverted and the craziness hits another level. Also it is written twenty years after Alice is thrown out of wonderland and into a sanatorium where she is steeped in drugs and therapy which never did anything so stop her bid to return. However when the tweedle twins break her out, and she identifies now as Malice, what she returns to is Wonderlust, and though she goes in search of the one person who always saw her true self, the hatter she is led through some crazy stuff, whereby in the end she doesn't know which of the tweedle boys to trust. they both serve a different queen and have their own political agenda, yet she is full of lust and keeps falling for the boys who had become vampires. The queen of hearts, the one Tweed serves, wants her head whilst the queen of spades served by Cash, wants to use her. There was a trial, sort of a quest which entailed a lengthy journey, through rough terrains, injuries, some problem solving, an ambush, a death and a betrayal however Malice will prevail and it is her craziness which wonderland still needs if it is to survive. I kept on reading hoping the book would redeem itself however I must admit it really was nothing like I expected it to be!
My Tweedle Boys was a unique adult book based on the Alice in Wonderland story but set in 20 years in the future.
Malice escapes a correction centre with the help of her Tweedles- Cash and Tweed in order to come back to Wonderland. However Wonderland isn’t so much of a wonderland as Malice was used to, it has become a wonderlust realm. Full of blood, monsters and lots of 🔥 smegsy.
I enjoyed this book, however it took me a while to get used to the way it was written. There was this jumpiness feel but I think it was done in a way to create that craziness atmosphere you get in Wonderland.
I loved how Cole added Chapters of Cash and Tweedle past and how they came to be. I also loved the lyrical verses in the book.
“To fix the curse and reverse the clock Retrieve the key to our future’s lock, Return the Alice from an unworthy land, To remove her mind, accept a helping hand. One twin will thrive, the other will fall, But only one queen can claim her of mind, spirit and all.”
I look forward to reading the next book in the duet
I have to admit, I was never a big fan of the classic Alice in Wonderland fairytale, but since I’m a huge fan of this author, I figured I needed to give this book a go. It took me a few chapters to really get into the story, but now that I’m finished I need the next book asap!
This is one of those stories you won’t be able to predict no matter how hard you try. I seriously had no idea what was going to happen from one page to the next! There’s magic, prophecies, riddles, betrayal, and so much more throughout this book!
If you’re looking for a story that’ll keep you on your toes and have your head spinning at times, trying to figure out which way is up and which way is out, this story is for you! It’s definitely got that Alice in Wonderland vibe, but these characters are much more mature and the theme is darker and sexier and is so much more twisted than the original! I’m really excited for the conclusion of this duet when Our Malice releases later this year!
If you’re a fan of Alice in Wonderland and want a grown-up version this one is for you. It’s an MFM with the Tweedle brothers Tweed and Cash. The twins break Malice out of an asylum and bring her to Wonderland. I love Maddison’s books but this one was really hard for me to get into. I couldn’t connect with Malice and just had a hard time with it overall. The ending though—that will have me coming back for more. I need to know what happens after that!! It’s an interesting take on the fairytale and if you are a fan of retellings, you should read this. The spice is 🔥🔥and the characters are a fun twist on the originals. If you are a fan of menage, Alice in Wonderland, twins, spice, and adventure this is a rabbit hole you’ll want to get lost down! I can’t wait to see what happens next, that ending was just UGH, I need more!!!
I love a Wonderland retelling, or in this case a very adult Alice returning to the childhood fantasy that led to her being locked up in an asylum. One thing I really loved, was the rhyming stanzas that popped up periodically, when Malice would start to lose her grip on reality. Brilliant and very in keeping with the base material! Malice, Tweed and Cash (and yes, the tweedle boys are now named after fabric, Tweed and Cashmere.) With no clear cut bad guy or girl, this book keeps you guessing and very much has the theme "there are three sides to every story. Yours, mine and the truth" heat level is definitely spicy and I enjoyed every last word.
Maddison Cole took everything I loved from Alice in Wonderland and twisted into one of the best retellings I've read. The amount of detail she put into the world building had me immersed in this book and dying to dive in book 2. One of my favorite parts of this retelling is the relationship between Hatter and Malice. The bond they had when she was little was so sweet and a completely different take from any retelling I've read. If you love dark romance and Alice you will absolutely want to pick this one up!
Holy amazingness, batman. I dipped my toe in a retelling that is unlike any other. This twisted take is chaotic and beautifully mastered. Forget any preconceptions of what this story may tell. You won't even tip the edge of the iceberg. I'm completely spun, in allll the good ways. We have spice, intrigue, sexy all glowed up tweedle boys and STAN. Do not hesitate, or lose this in your TBR. A definite must-read. Down the rabbit hole you goooooooo..
I totally loved this book. Once I started reading I could not put it down and had to finish it in one sitting. It moves along at a pace that makes for a fantastic and easy read. The pace of the story is perfect for how the story moves along. You will love these characters and you want to be there for them. This book is a must read that needs to be at the top of your TBR list, no doubt about it.
Come join Malice on her journey back to Wonderland where she reunites with her Tweedle Boys to figure out why she's back. Many things have changed since she's been gone and the boys are not the same as she remembers.
This was such a adventure! All things in Wonderlust are so quirky and complete nonsense but that was what was so enjoyable - a dark twist on a favorite fairytale ✨️
Excited to join Malice back in Wonderlust in book 2!
I really enjoyed this book. I love an Alice in Wonderland retelling. A dark, adult version. Malice has been gone from Wonderland for 20years. She has grown into an adult and a lot has changed. Wonderland is no longer the fairytale we know. It’s now called Wonderlust. Being cooped up in a padded cell she meets Cash & Tweed (Sexy, Tattooed Twins). They break her out and bring her back to Wonderland. Expect adult/steamy scenes.
DNF at 18% and I am thoroughly confused. My notes and highlights on goodreads says the book is "My Tweedle Boys" but this I have this as "Descend into Madness: A Vampire Ménage Romance (A Wonderlust Adventure Book 1)"
So many plot holes and continuity errors in just the first few Chapters, and it reminds me of when I was in Middle School on Gaia Online Role-playing things I should not have been roleplaying.
Wow!! What a crazy adventure! I loved the storyline! It wad fun and kept me on my toes! There were twists and turns that definitely surprised me. There was humor, steam, and you guessed it more crazy times! Told in multiple POVs. I loved Malice. Those Tweedle boys... I'm still trying to decide. Overall, I really enjoyed it! I can't wait for book 2!
This was the best damn book. So vivid, so real, the world building was intense. An amazing version of Alice in Wonderland. But like, better. I cannot wait for the next book! Dark, dangerous, imaginative, and sexy, with the weird nostalgia of the childhood story mixed in. There are so many good things to say about the book. I'm gonna stick with one. WOW.
Ohh, this book is a mad ride and I love it! Malice is such a mixed up girl, she doesn't know who to trust but she desperately wants someone to care about her, she's be over the moon if both the tweedles proved to be trustworthy but she knows they're not. Can't wait to read book 2.
This boon has so much potential to be a wonderful book. I had a hard time getting past some of the errors missed in editing and the storyline had moments that were very difficult to understand what was happening or how the characters got into these situations.
I got halfway through the book before I gave up on the book
I love Alice in Wonderland reworkings. My Tweedle Boys is a dark, whimsical retelling. I found it a bit hard to follow from all the rhyming and...well, crazy. Malice is the definition of unreliable narrator. Still enjoyable, though.
Hooked! I need the second book like an addiction now! I loved this retelling and I will be buying to second book!! What a sinfully decedent Alice in wonderland retelling!!
This book was firee! 🔥 I loved this retelling so much! It was dark and twisted in the best way! I loved the amount of world building she had & the characters were some of my faves! Especially Malice!! This book & this author are the bomb! Loved it & deff recommend it!! #Tweedleboyz !
How this author does it, I have no idea! I read this book in one sitting and I cannot wait to read book to. I LOVED this story and am already obsessed. If you have not read this book yet, do so now!
It's the perfect blend of fantastical Wonderland and crazy! With the perfect amount of spice, betrayal, and intrigue! Just roll with the crazy and you'll catch on!
Tumble down the rabbit hole and join (M)Alice as she returns to Wonderland 20years later, but nothing is the same. I'm a big fan of fairtytale retellings and this is one of my favourites.
Maddison Cole has done a fantastic job creating this twist on a well loved classic. With all the craziness of the original and some steamy scenes, i suggest you check out this book.
A Wonder-full Adventure! My Tweedle Boys is EPIC! It’s set 20 years after Alice leaves Wonderland and everyone is now very much grown up! I loved every second of this book, despite the fact that it had me rhyming for days. Tweed and Cash are exceptional characters that work well alongside Ali… I mean Malice. This book captures the meaning of adult fairytale perfectly. One of my favourite reads of this year, so far.
If you like a good fairytale retelling, and like Alice In Wonderland (think grown up version) then this book is definitely for you! Malice has exactly the temperament you'd expect with a name like that, and when she's 'rescued' by the Tweedle twins and brought back to Wonderlust she definitely shows that she is not a little girl any more. There's action, adventure, lust, lies, smexi times, madness, and of course, tea. A brilliant adventure from start to finish, and I'm looking forward to another wonderlust tale soon! 5⭐️.. definitely recommend 💕
You know when you read a book, and you come to review it and you say "you don't know what was going to happen next"?
Let me tell you that phrase takes a whole new other level here!! If you thought the original Alice in Wonderland was madness, quirky and full of strange rhyming lyrics.... Wait till you read this adult version!
Alice has been in a mental hospital after her original visit to wonderland, after telling her stories and being classed as insane. Now 20yrs later, going by Malice, or Mal, she still believes but keeps quiet..... When suddenly she receives 2 visitors she wasn't expecting. When they turned around, it was the grown up version of Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee...
Eventually they end back in wonderland which now goes by Wonderlust and the place has deteriorated and in need of Malices help. But the twins are no longer close. They're divided. Tweed is on the queen of hearts side and Cash is on the queen on spade.
Who does she trust! She has her little friend Stan the sugar glider, her only salvation from the mental hospital. And her own intuition.
She needs to find the Hatter. There are no men in the realm, having gone mad after she disappeared last time.
Both the Tweeds are trying to earn her trust in their own way as they journey across Wonderlust. The chemistry is powerful between them and they all give in to it several times and it's explosive! Each twin has a different perspective on what's important during sex. Tweed won't kiss.
Malice is trying to keep her strength at the forefront but it wavers at times. And she honestly doesn't know who to trust. And she seems a little lonely at times having to do this on her own..
The cliffhanger really got me!! I need the next book pleeeeease!!!!!
Ms Cole.... This was just mind bending!!! How you wrote this I have no idea!! The nonsense that isn't actually nonsense but makes sense... The townspeople - the descriptions are amazing.... The lyrics of the rhymes you've done are so fantastic. The way you kept malice as Alice yet the new person she has emerged to be, HAD to be was so well written.
You kept the original wonderland alive as well as overlapping it with the Wonderlust and to balance that must have been difficult! The twins were complicated! I was sad they don't get on, I have high hopes that changes in the next book, esp after the tidbit left near the end..... I hope they come thru for each other!
As my first foray into your work, it's tempting me back into others! I'll finish this series and then try others for sure!! I really hope there's a happy ending!!!
