Losing my husband of two years to a drunk driver left me a twenty-five-year-old widow and pushing away any friends I had. As much as I changed who I was, and hid the pain, the past came back to haunt me in an unexpected way.
I tried to get away from the agony of it all by getting in bed with every guy who shot a sweet smile my way. There was Mike, the sweet cowboy, and Joe, the rough handy man. And then there was Devon Mathews. He was my husbands best friend, and I despised him, and his enormous ego. I was happy to never set eyes on that man again.
But when he suddenly popped back into my life a year after the funeral, I couldn’t get him off my mind, or out of my dreams, no matter who’s bed I was in. I hated everything he put me through... Until I Didn’t.
Being lucky enough to get a forward copy of Sara Louisa’s new romance book. ‘Until I didn’t’ Well, all I can say is wow! This is different to what Sara Louisa would normally write, I’m defiantly a #teamLiv, but… Until I didn’t, is a whole new genre. I was unsure what to expect, yet. With a lot of grief, love spice and emotions with a hint of reverse harem thrown in. All builds to a great read. Brilliant! Written with ease, which flows building up to an end that is great. Just enough love, heartbreak, heartache, angst and finally that everlasting love which has eluded some of the characters. I do not want to give too much away, but we’ll done Sara Louisa. . .
This book was so good, once I started it I couldn’t put it down. Sara is one of my favorite authors, and this was a departure from her other work as far as genre is concerned. A modern day reverse harem Beauty and the Beast, told in multiple POV and first person, but with quite the spicy twist! It is fair to say at this point, whatever genre this author decides to write she excels at, and you will not be able to tear yourself away from it!
Wow! What a story! Sara did an excellent job writing this and pulling at every emotion! The surprises kept me on my toes, even a bit shocked at times! But isn’t that what makes a great romance novel! The title could not be more fitting. I would highly recommend this novel to anyone that loved real life romance with a twist! Sara, Thank you for letting me beta read, I was honored.
I read the first two books in the Liv series, and took a break from the third when I jumped on the opportunity to ARC read this. OMG what a different read than the author’s other work. A twisted fairytale proving beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The scenes were sexy as hell (this is reverse harem) and I loved the cat and mouse game between Trina and Devon. Definitely recommend this hot read!
I was pleasantly surprised by the way Sara wove the whole family story, along with the love that both her main characters had together from an early childhood. She isn’t afraid to deal with the emotional turmoil that people often face when they have a difficult time in their lives.
