Not One of My Favorites . . .
Firefighter Dylan Roberts from Company 417 is a stag shifter whose friend is murdered by someone illegally hunting. When a naked body is found in the forest, shot with a high-powered rifle, Ramona Zimmerman is the detective working on the case. But not knowing the victim, Alex Grant, was a shifter, it doesn’t completely make sense to her why this happened. Finding the victim’s clothes neatly folded in the front seat of his car, 3 miles away, confuses Ramona and her partner Jake even more as to what was going on. When Ramona meets the victim’s roommate, Dylan (who is immediately drooling over this woman’s sexy voice), she tells him about his friend’s death and the two of them are feeling a very strong physical attraction to each other! (Uh, that’s not the first reaction I would have had in that scenario…) Reeling from the shock of Alex’s death, Dylan grabs the detective and kisses her hard! She tells him they can’t do that, walks out to her car, tells her captain she is taking the rest of the day off, then goes back to Dylan and says she changed her mind and to ignore all that she had said. Then they take care of those cravings. Ooookkayyy!
Dylan wants to make sure that the murderer is captured. He is certain that it was a poacher who was going for a prize buck, despite the game preserves nearby that allow hunting. Will he be able to assist Ramona in the investigation while still keeping his own secret? And does anyone have a hose to douse those two in some cold water to bring them back to reality? Their over-the-top desire was too much, putting emphasis on what should have been on the back burner for later after the crime is solved.

This was a quick read and is book 15 in an amazing series about shifters that work for Company 417 firefighters and are all different types of shifters. Romona is the police detective that has been call out to a murder in the Nature Preserve where the body was found naked and shot with a high powered rifle and there have been reports of illegal hunters in the area and now she is on her way to his apartment to tell his roommate of Alex’s death and Dylan is is shocked by his best friends death and also by his instant attraction to the detective and so he kisses her but she walks away. Dylan is a deer shifter and a fireman at Company 417 and when a gorgeous woman knocks on her door and is the police detective that tells him his roommate was murder he is shocked and saddened but he is also shocked by his instant attraction to the detective and his first instinct is to kiss the daylights out of her but she leaves and then she returns they have a wild and steamy night together and it isn’t long and they start dating all the while trying to find out who murdered his best friend. How does it turn out does Dylan tell Ramona that he is a shifter and that the reason Alex was naked because he is one two and if so how will she react and do they catch the murder as well.

This is the second book I have read by Amelia Wilson in the Paranormal Shifter Series and I absolutely adore how she brings to life different type shifters other than wolves. I find these stories to be very refreshing and most definitely original. Amelia has a writing style that speaks to me - it just draws me in and before I know it I have read her entire book. Both Dylan and Ramona the main characters are automatically attracted to one another and their chemistry is more explosive than fireworks on the 4th of July. I liked these two immensely and related to them easily. Dark Stag's Quest was a quick easy read that took me less than an hour to complete. If you are looking for something different - something original and you enjoy shifter books then this is one you should give a try.

Having enjoyed the earlier books in this Paranormal Shifter Series where we ate introduced to different species of shifters all working together as firefighters in Company 417, I had been wondering what type of shifter Amelia Wilson would introduce us to next. Well, this time around it's the turn of Dylan a deer shifter.
Following the murder of his lifelong friend Dylan and the police detective Ramona, met. Instantly there was a mutual physical attraction between them, but with the loss of his friend and a murderer on the loose is it the right time to be pursuing it? Against all odds, their relationship deepens and becomes a love neither of them can deny.
The story flows well, the characters are well-drawn and the sex scenes are well-written and show how much they not only desire each other but that the love between them is true.

Dylan is a red deer shifter and a firefighter. His friend was also a shifter. When his friend is found naked and dead on a nature preserve, Dylan knows what happens, but he can't tell the detective his theory. Romana is a human woman and a police detective. She's assigned to a strange murder case. She's desperately attracted to Dylan and the start a relationship with each other. As Dylan and Ramona become close, Dylan finally shows her his animal side. There's plenty to steam between Dylan and Romana. I loved that shifter is something other than the usual bear, dragon or wolf, though I love reading about them. Also , loved that Romana was a strong woman with plenty of confidence in what she does and that Dylan didn't feel threatened by her occupation.

Won’t be in the dear shift or push the new meaning to being caught like a deer in headlights. Dylan‘s best friend Alex has been murdered. Ramona is the police officer who is doing the investigation. Good characters. There has to be the truth to finding out what happened to Alex. Especially since he doesn’t know that he might be the key to giving her the right answers to help her crack this case open. A lot a lot a lot of steam there’s so much steam I’m not sure there’s a way to stop the steam from coming.

Another great addition to this series, can't get enough.
Ramona is nobody’s damsel in need of saving. She is all woman and proud of that fact. When she needs sex, she goes out and gets it and makes no apologies. She is always in control, until she meets her match in Dylan.
Dylan is devastated when his roommate is killed, but he is keeping a big secret.
This is a wonderful quick read: it is mainly them in bed but I loved how the situation was resolved in the end.

Ramona needs a man, not any man though as she has some quite specific standards to adhere to. One night stand to scratch the itch will just have to do until then. That said a call out over a strange death puts her right into the path, if not the lap of a guy who fits her profile as though made for her. Dylan is reeling over the sudden death of his roomate who he grew up with. When the stunning woman who brought the bad news also comforts him, it helps soothe him. Could there be more between them?

Romana was a detective and called to the forest because a man was killed and was naked but they couldn’t figure out why. She went to the firehouse to tell Dylan about his best friend and they ended up in bed. Dylan had to show her the reason that it was a poacher that killed Alex the police force put the file in cold case files. They still had their happy ending. Good book!.

Dark Stag's Quest of a book fifteen in the series Company 417 Shifters by author Amelia Wilson. I honestly don’t know how to describe this book- it’s sweet, sexy, heartbreaking and sexy. Oh did I repeat myself. Anywho, imagine losing someone close to you and in the next breath finding your “someone”.

I enjoyed the story of Dylan and Ramona. Ramona is there to investigate a death. Dylan is one of the local firefighters of company 417. He's not doing well with the death of his friend. He ends up kissing Ramona and the fireworks start. This is an amazing quick read with lots of steam. I love how the story turned out. Great read and wonderful series.

I loved this sizzling story, it will immediately pull you in and not let you go. I loved all the descriptions of what was going on and how they brought it all to the surface. Dylan wanted to help Ramona with the case, I loved how their minds were so in sync. I loved how excepting Ramona was when it counted.

Great storyline
I was sorry to read about a deer shifter being killed by a poacher in the beginning of this book. Yes, it brought this firefighter and police officer together, but he lost his best friend. Can't believe how much sex is in each of these books. Not that I am not enjoying read all of it, because I am really enjoying it. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Enjoyable story. Although Romana meets Dylan at a difficult time, their attraction is off the charts. The search for the killer of Dylan’s roommate keeps Romana busy, but when it goes cold, will Dylan need to reveal his secret? I enjoyed the ending.

Book fifteen in the Company 417 Shifters Series, I know when this series is finished I will be reading all of them again. This is Ramona and firefighter, stag shifter Dylan's story, that is well written and kept me turning pages. There is suspense, drama, secrets, villains, murder, and romance. Dark Stag's Quest is the fifteenth addition to the Company 417 Shifter series by Amelia Wilson. This is a quick, stand-alone read that is action packed and sexy. Dylan and Ramona's story is well written and entertaining. A great addition to the series.
