My first bear shifter
And it did not disappoint. This man’s protection’s retroactive 👀. This is the kind of vibes I need in life 💅.
August/Gus (29) has been acting crazy, feral, unhinged because his inner bear hasn’t found his mate. A group of shifting mercenaries called The Foxhounds have been chasing him, trying to tame him to no avail. Among them is his older brother, almost like a leader of the pack. Because they can’t control him, they need to eliminate him. Although Gus is willing to succumb to their threats, his bear won’t let him. Their fight’s bloody and almost deathly, yet somehow Gus survives.
Hazel (22) recently moved to this quaint town, and she doesn’t know why. She left her life in Florida to start fresh and this place felt like a good place to be. Back at home, a guy she turned down ruined her reputation, so escaping that life was the best thing she could’ve done. When she’s working, she’s told to take out the trash. She hears a grunt and finds a large, naked bloodied man in the trash bin. Of course she had to help him 🤷🏻♀️. Little did she know that this man would end up being a shifting bear.
I really enjoyed the world building. It was different. I can’t recall reading a shifting book where the shifter goes feral until he finds his mate, to the point where he’ll need to be un alived because of how bad he is 😬.
Although this is Insta love, there was buildup to their relationship and tension that added to their connection. It felt organic and not too OTT or Insta like many books I’ve read. They get to know each other (ish lol).
Plus, Hazel’s just as protective of Gus as he is of her 😉.
I got emotional in a couple of scenes.
But I also laughed 🤣.
Although we only get like 2 smexxy scenes, they were both 🔥🔥🔥.
Knowing it’s a shifter novel, I would’ve expected it to be more primal. But I get it; Gus couldn’t necessarily scare poor Hazel (his shifter IS a bear 😅; he’s not a cute little wolf but a big beast lol). Like, he could’ve scented when she’s aroused… or other times, if you get my drift😉. Maybe I’m just used to that in the wolf shifter books I’ve read (or even the vampires ones).
As usual, we get two swoon-worthy epilogues. The first one was 😈😈😈. Retroactive love and protection should be in ALL books 🤷🏻♀️💁🏻♀️💅💅💅.
And the second one was not only sweet but 🔥 as well.
Overall, I loved it.

3.5 ⭐️ I really liked the story. I just wished there was more and not so rushed, but it's a great easy and fast read ❤️

3.5⭐️ “You let me worry about your bear. I’ll tame him properly.”
One of my lovely Goodreads friends wrote a great review about this novella and I immediately disregarded my entire TBR, looked it up on Kindle Unlimited and just started reading. Because of course I did.
August is a bear shifter whose beast has gone feral from loneliness and desperation after waiting 28 years for his mate. Now, he’s 29 and on the run, because his bear bursts out of him and becomes violent in complete disregard for him or his wishes. The Foxhounds, a group of mercenaries dedicated to hunt and kill feral shifters are on his tail and after a particularly bad encounter between them… August wakes up to Hazel, and his whole life changes. She’s the one – his mate – the one he’s always been looking for.
This was in some ways better than I expected, not so great in others. I loved the change up of the shifter being a bear, instead of a wolf. Don’t get me wrong, I will most definitely be reading the rest of the series, where every single one of the Foxhounds finds his mate – including the French Canadian, ninja/wolf shifter. But I digress… I loved the bear aspect, I loved the extreme case of insta-love these two had for each other, I loved the side characters. And I adored the fact that we get two epilogues, the last one 25 years into the future. Talk about HEA!
Now, on to what I couldn’t really get behind. I couldn’t get behind the whole virgin FMC sh*t. I’m sorry, but virginity is fake, and even if you physically still had an intact hymen by the time your 22, that just means you really need to do some stretches in the morning or something. That thing can go away on its own, it doesn’t have to be about sex at all, but anyway… It just grosses me out SO much. And it’s pretty heavily used and talked about here. Just… it was a big no for me. The other one, not as intense a complaint, it’s that this was soooo short. I felt like there could have easily been at least 3-4 more chapters.
Overall, it was nice and I’m excited to read the rest of the series!

I’ve never read a bear shifter before and I think I wouldn’t mind reading more shifter novellas. Wolf shifting is definitely my fave though.
August, poor August. He’s been having trouble with his bear for a while now. He’s been unable to control it, it going feral because August hasn’t found his mate. It’s gotten so bad that now he finds himself running from the Foxhounds, a group of shifters mercenaries that have been tasked with putting him down. August gets into a fight with them at a train station and he barely escapes, but he’s injured and will need some time to heal. He finds a dumpster behind a small restaurant to lie down in to get some rest and heal.
Hazel is smart, resourceful, and clever. I love the way she is with her fellow employees at the restaurant she just started working at a few months prior. She’s taking out the trash one night when she finds August in the dumpster. She knows she should run away, but something in her is drawn to him, to helping him, to being near him. So Hazel helps August into her apartment where he can sleep safely until she gets off of work.
But the Foxhounds are still after August, and Hazel refuses to let them get at her “mate”.
This was a cute little novella. I love that it was short but at the same time I wanted more. Hazel was my fave. She’s best friend material, with her loyalty and her sense of humor. August was really sweet, except for when he turned into a hungry bear (not really) in the bedroom. I love this author and I’ll never mind reading more of her shit- even if it’s not Wolf shifters.

This was such a pleasant surprise! If you're in the mood for a short, sexy shifter story with low drama and high heat, then this will definitely hit the spot. Even though this was a novella, the characters felt fully-fleshed out and there was plenty of steam and danger--which I LOVED. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this shifter romance story, and I will definitely be checking out more by this author♡

Muy fácil de leer, muy plano, muy equis, muy predecible, si está hot, así que puntos, pero no tantos porque como que de repente me conflictuaba que dijera que la iba a preñar AL DIA DE CONOCERSE, o sea entiendo el trío de que son soulmates y todo, pero bro calmao. Hazel accepts pretty easily and feels the mate thing pretty strongly too.
I didn’t enjoy the sexy times. The spelling and words used threw me off. Also, I don’t enjoy how his brother’s team was constantly trying to kill him, and seemed disappointed at the end when they saw he had survived.
It’s okay but I won’t be reading more from this author.

It’s books like these from Olivia that made me fall in love with shifter romances and I am here for it.
August has run out of time to find his mate, running on fumes and losing the battle to keep his feral bear under control. He has made it his mission to at least see his mate before the end.
I love the determination and tenderness from him.
Hazel is a young woman running from her past - I adore how strong, brave and positive she is after what she went thru.
This pair together is a heartwarming whirlwind romance that is packed with action, just the right amount of steam and a HEA that will even make the coldest of hearts warm. I really enjoyed how Olivia switched things up and made Hazel the rescuer in this without taking any of August’s possessive alpha energy. This is definitely one of my favorite shifter romances from her and I look forward to see where she takes this series.

This was a bit of an intense series opener with August moments away from being killed for becoming feral (kind of getting super nasty/insane for not finding his mate). The anguish and heart ache were real for me. Thankfully, Hazel found him and nurtured him back to health...and kept him from giving up. She was all 'momma bear' defending him and I loved that about her. The squad out hunting him down included his brother and a fab Canadian wolf shifter that got referred to as the French Ninja - I absolutely loved this humour to help balance out the grimness of August's situation. I inhaled this book in one go and really look forward to the next book :D

August is a bear shifter that went feral a few months ago. Now he is on the run from shifters that hunt ferals and take them down. He gets attacked in a small town by the group and can survive that attack. Hazel is a waitress and finds August wounded and unconscious. She instantly feels connected to him and saves him. But the the hunters are still after August but his mate fights tooth and nail for him and his bear.🥰🥰 Instalove, fated mates(double virgins 😍😉) , steamy, romantic , with action and with a sweet HEA 😍😍😍😍 Can't wait for the hunters to find their mates too👍

*spoilers* August is a grizzly bear shifter. In the beginning of the story he is arriving in Timberville, trying to soothe his bear somehow. He is going feral, because he has not found his mate, and endangering himself and other people. August has lost control, considering suicide but somehow not willing to give up. He wants to see his mate one time, before ending his life, thinking it is too lare to be with her, if he is going to find her, his bear is corrupted. He does not listen to August anymore, in the past they used to get along, but this times are long gone. Then the Foxhounds, hunters of feral shifters are coming for him, to put the feral bear down for the goods of the packs.The leader is Jackson, August’s older brother, not happy what he has to do to his brother. They fight and some get badly hurt, most of all August’s bear, but he can escape. Hazel works in the only restaurant in Timberville where she hears of a scuffle between bear shifters, she does not believe they exist. When she brimgs out the garbage she finds a naked and injured man in the bin. She feels a strong pull towards him, which surprises her, because she never even had a crush before. Against better judgement she brings him home above the restaurant and goes down to finish her shift, he can barely move or open his eyes. When she comes back, he is in better shape and realizes she is his mate. His bear is finally calm, his eyes have changed backand he feels more in control. Will Hazel accept him and open up her heart for him? Will he have a chance to survive after all and will they have a chance together?
The fight in the beginning was pretty cruel and heartbreaking. When we meet Hazel she is a strong woman and funny. I enjoy Oliva T. Turner’s ott alphas and this one gets a mate who is feral for her and she kicks ass for him. They are sweet, funny and hot. They were both on the run for different reason. How well they click and how she tames his bear is sweet. How she fights for him and is determined to be all in together with him. And the love and need they have for each other is magical.

Gus' bear has gone feral after being without his mate for so long. His brother and team hunt him down to kill him and after a bloody fight Gus is injured and dying. Hazel is taking out the trash at the diner she works at when she comes across Gus passed out in a dumpster. She decides to take him in and decides to help him when his brother tracks him down again.
This was an okay quick read. Insta-love and fast paced. Hazel's smart mouth got on my nerves for some reason. Gus was a sweetie and a real life teddy bear. The scenes between them was scorching hot. I'm so curious about Remy's book (Just love the French accent).

A feral shifter who is being hunted by his brother and three other shifters to put him down before his grizzly gets too far gone. At a small town the fight the grizzly gets hurt with two of the other shifters that's hunting him, the grizzly runs so he won't get killed. The grizzly is injured and loosing a great amount of blood when he shifts back into human form a hides in a dumpster where a waitress finds him bleeding. The waitress tries to get him to get up several times before he does wind up getting up, she takes him to her apartment. She feels that she has some strong connection to the man. When she get off work and goes home she finds him in her bathroom, she goes to get him some clothes to where and make some coffee for them so that they can talk. From first site he could tell that she was his mate. He gets dressed and sets to drink his coffee, he tries to tell her that he is a shifter also that she was his mate but she didn't believe him. He hears the sounds of bikes in the distance telling her that they need to go but before they leave his brother and the three shifters are there, he tries to talk to his brother but figures that he is still feral so he should die, he tells her this but she tells him no that she won't let it happen. She tells him to get into the car but before she can get to the care a shifter takes out a tire, they drive off two follow on bikes but she knocks them off of the road another shifter comes in his form and she takes care of him as well, they stop the fix the tire before they get to a cabin where they will stay for a while. They get to the cabin she makes something for them to eat he tells her about his grizzly being feral and she tells him about herself, he tells her more about her being his mate while they're making love. The both know at that moment that they're each others mates. A couple days later they're outside while she tells him to shift that she wants to see her grizzly so he shifters. She is not scared of her grizzly and he doesn't try to hurt her but he becomes alert that someone is coming, the grizzly stands in front of her, she tells him to calm down when the brother and the three shifters show up. She goes to stand in front of her grizzly when they start taking about killing him she tries to explain about how has changed when they won't listen she has him change back to human form. When the two brothers face each other the man tells his brother that he found his mate but the three still want to kill him, he talks to them more and the decide to let him go. Later he is in the kitchen when he falls to his knees with a crash she comes to him asking what is wrong, it's his grizzly wanting the mating mark put on her. The make loving has her bites her putting the mark on her to show she is his. He goes to see his brother for a couple of days when he comes home she has some news for him, the news is that she is pregnant. Twenty-five years later they are celebrating the day they met by going to the restaurant then going to a hotel and getting a fancy meal later but they even eat there they decide to skip everything and go straight to the hotel.
A beautiful shifter romance with amazing characters it's easy read good page turner. Terrifically written shifter happily ever after ending.

August is a bear shifter that has turned feral because he has not found his fated-mate. He cannot be tamed and is on the run from the Foxhound hunters that are trying to end his life. His out-of-control bear is a danger to everyone around him. The hunters are fresh on his trail when he arrives in Montana and a fight ensues before August can escape. He is found naked and injured by a waitress, Hazel, that feels compelled to help him recover from his injuries. Now it’s a race against time to prove that Hazel is the only one who can save him and stop the savage beast living inside of him.
This was a slower burn insta-love romance with an over-the-top alpha and an innocent heroine. It was a super sweet romance and I love how August truly cherished Hazel. She didn’t fight their attraction to one another (even when he revealed shifters exist) and I loved how confident Hazel was with August and his bear. She knew he would never hurt her and she was willing to prove it to the hunters.
It looks like we’ll get future installments featuring the other characters in the book. The Foxhounds are made up of Jackson, Ryker, Grayson and Remy. I’m hoping the next book is about August’s brother, Jackson!

I LOVE Olivia T Turner!! She is giving us a whole fated mates, one and only, series of love stories! Shifter alpha males that can only be with their soulmate, fated mates, and their human counterparts that have saved themselves to share the sacred bond of giving each others virginty, body, mind, heart and soul only to each other and no one else? YES, YES, YES!!!
August is a bear shifter gone feral. He is rescued by his fated mate Hazel a sweetheart and John Wick/ Mario cart driving bad ass. There is a delegation of shifters that hunt down feral shifters to kill them when they reach the feral stage (these guys are interesting characters, you have to read it to know that they can have a whole novel for each, especially the french ninja). Hazel put a stop to that and stood by her man!

She nurses him back to health and he finds out that she’s his mate and tells her and she doesn’t believe him. They leave to avoid his brother and his mates but don’t get very far before they’re on his tail so she takes him to Lou who is her co worker at the diner she works for and they stay and HE FRICKIN CLAIMS HER AHH. August – Gus had turned feral after not finding his mate and his Bear had now taken over and would not listen to him. Everywhere he went he caused disruption and now his brother and his team were after him to put him and his Bear down. After fighting with his brother and his team he barely got away alive. He’d crawled into a bin and that’s where she found him. Hazel worked in a diner and when she found him injured, let him into her apartment upstairs to recover and went back to work.
He knew as soon as she came back into her apartment that she was his mate. His Bear had calmed down and was behaving itself. Getting Hazel to believe he was a Bear shifter and his fated mate took a little time but once she did she stood up to his brother and his team to defend him.
If you like shifter stories, you’ll enjoy this short novella with lots of steamy moments, a gorgeous shifter and his mate with an HEA. I always love it when an author does an epilogue to let you know how their life develops and this one if perfect.

This is part of the Nasty Rabid Beasts can be read in under an hour with a shifter who has some issues and the only women who can save him from his animal. Angust sexy as all get out bear who is about to lose his human to the bear hasn’t found his mate which is the only one to save him, but he is out of time they are coming to put him down because once an animal goes feral there is no coming back because his animal will be in control. Hazel sweet running from her past she is so strong, braves some situation that most will run from she faces it, and she is so positive in the front of most obstacles especially having endured so much. So finding Angust helping him came naturally for her this big alpha needing a little nurturing and protecting him in his weaken state holding her own I might add when the others came one being brother to put him down it wasn’t happening on her watch but is it enough to bring him back to balance, will her past catch up to her, if it does will he, his family protect her, and is there happiness for these two?.

I loved this!! This new series is off to an amazing start as we get to know our guy who has a dangerous bear inside of him. I was drawn into the story right away as I felt for him and his bear. I felt for him as he struggled and along came his mate and all was right. Such amazing writing and a these great characters with hot chemistry!
She was the one to calm his bear.
And boy did she! This wss so exciting as well. I love how everything would be ok as they meet. It isn't like there isn't danger, but he would his mate finally and him and his bear can be happy now. I love how she completes him. They had such hot chemistry and so ma y sweet moments. This was such a delight to read. I had been so looking forward to this new series and I just love it! A safe, sexy read with an author who always creates amazing books. I honestly love each and every one and this was an awesome addition!.

The concept of this story was really good.
I liked the idea of seeing a bear finally get fed up and how it pushes for the control over the human part when they don't have a mate to balance and calm the animal nature.
August's bear has finally reached the end of his limit. Waiting for their mate day after day has finally taken it's final toll and August's bear has gone feral. He's now a danger to society and hunted by the Foxhounds to protect the innocent that may cross his path. At this point, he's sure that even if he were to meet his mate now, he's too far gone that she wouldn't be able to help him anymore.
At least that's what he believes. But when Hazel finds him in the dumpster behind a restaurant and takes him back to her apartment so he may heal, he finds that his bear is finally quiet and not trying to fight August for control. However, with the Foxhounds on his tail is it too late for August to appeal to them and show him that he's not longer a danger?.

August (Gus), the male bear shifter lead, is feral, with his bear no longer responding to him and attempting to destroy the world because he hasn’t been able to find his mate. When his brother and colleagues attempt to execute him, he runs into a town and hides in the dumpster behind a cafe. Hazel, the female human lead, is shocked to find a naked injured man in the dumpster but takes pity on him, taking him to her apartment above the cafe to rest and heal. But August believes that he can’t be saved and he’s willing to die now he’s met Hazel. Hazel thinks she’s all his bear needed…
This novella is dual POV, and a cute and steamy, over-the-top romance. You’re never reading this author for the realism and it’s fun. I enjoyed Hazel’s determination to save August and his determination to keep her safe.

Hazel works at a diner and was taking the trash out when, to her surprise, she finds an injured and naked man. Deciding she has to help him, she takes him to her apartment to nurse him back to health. Once August recovers some, he realizes Hazel is his mate and he finally has control of his beast again. Now he has to convince her to stay with him as his mate. Oh and keep safe from the hunters who want to see him dead.
This was a really good story with an exciting plot, interesting characters and steamy heat. It’s short and sweet with all the elements you expect in an OTT book.

After an attack from the team, he escapes and ends up being found by Hazel. Hazel finds a wounded man at the restaurant she works and feels this weird connection with him immediately. She helps him to her apartment and when he wakes up she figures out what she’s in for. She was a little apprehensive but she felt something for him and realized he was telling the truth of being a bear it all changed. She knew she had to help him and felt a connection to him. That connection became more and she knew she was his mate. It all worked out at the end but it was close a few times when he almost lost his life from the team who was after him. This is another great story from OTT.

Almost immediately, August and his bear realize something - Hazel is their mate. Hazel kind of side eyes that but it doesn’t stop her from escaping a few group of guys that put down feral bears.
Hazel has no idea why she is helping August other than it feels right. Now, they just have to convince the others that he is not that far gone now that he has his mate.
The steam level is great in this book and I loved the 2 epilogues!.
