Absolutely loved this book. It's full of action and will keep you guessing as to what happens next. Leo will do anything to protect his family and as head of the family that means doing everything he can to keep them safe, Scarlett is hiding from her very bad family but Leo showing up changes everything. What will come next for these two?.

This series always gets me. I am not a mafia book kind of reader but this series makes me like the genre. You shouldn’t want want to like Leo and Scarlett together but you find yourself getting past all the obstacles and wanting them to find happiness. This author never disappoints and this was a perfect example.

Simmering Embrace is book 3 in the De Luca Crime Family series by E.C. Land. Finally we get Leo's story. He gets information thatthe princess of the Risso family, Scarlett, is masterminding his families latest troubles. Once he sees her he is attracted and the conflict arises.
I love that Leo has watched the men under him fall in love and thought he would be immune. How can this happen when love is a weakness. Scarlett has had to take care of her self. She is on the run, hiding from her father,a cartel boss.and her evil stepbrothers.
Leo is conflicted over what he feels and how he thinks he should act. Scarlett is smart enough to realize what Leo is doing. The chemistry between them is fun and st€@my. She won't take any bull and isn't afraid to stand up to Leo.
The action amps up in this book. There are also some twists including a major one that I did not see coming. I read through the book quickly because I wanted to know what would happen next. Heard that the mafia princess Scarlett Russo was behind the merchandise slowdowns, missing shipments, price hikes...so decides to look for her as she's not been heard from in years...finds Scarlett working a paid-under-the-table job in Brooklyn NY, hardly expected from the Princess of a Mafia family...and Leo gets to know Scarlett and soon finds that even though she is a decade younger than he is, she is intriguing and being followed and watched...She's thinking of leaving...but Leo pulling her in...although he still has doubts about her role in the Russo family...both attracted to the other with a sizzle neither can deny...but can the head of the DeLuca find love with the enemy??? I love this series, it hits hard and deep. The characters breath life into the story line.

He kidnaps her and then soon they are in a love/hate relationship and start to fall in love with each other.
Together(even though Leo is against it)they take out her family and the other factions that want Leo’s power and territory. Along the way they finally let it out that they love each other and can’t be without the other.

The Russo family are causing trouble for the DeLuca, finding out who the head is and stopping them takes Leo to NY and a little bar where Maria Vittoria Scarletta works, after gaining her trust he kidnaps her and brings her to Dallas, but does he have the right person, why does she look scared that she's back in Texas.

This was a thrilling mafia romance. It was full of drama and action right from the start. It was a story where you really needed to have read the previous books to fully understand the storyline and the characters. This was Leo and Scarlett’s story and they didn’t have it easy but they had amazing chemistry and were able to withstand a lot. I loved the story and I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series.

Scarlet has tried to run from the mafia life, but the blood in her veins meant she could never escape. She is a pawn for power between the feuding families, that is, until she takes matters into her own hands. Everyone tried to use her, but I loved how Scarlet was the strongest of them all. This is an great addition to the series as it involves Leo, the head of the DeLuca family, and the woman that is perfect for him. There isn't very much suspense to the story, but it still grabs your attention that I finished it in one sitting. Hopefully, Wilder gets his own story.

Leo is looking to find the head of the Russo family causing problems for his family and bringing an end to it. When Leo meets Scarlett in a bar, he is smitten with her, but unknown to him she is a Russo hiding from her family. Their story has all the drama and romance readers have come to expect from E.C. I love this series. It just keeps getting better with every new book. In this one Leo is trying to finfld out whonis running the Russo family now and causing them trouble. The new leader actually wants nothing to donwoth her family, however they won't leave her alone. When she and Leo meet, sparks fly and it os game on from here on out. Plenty of intrigue, mystery, and drama. You'll have to read to find out what happens. Exciting read.

I love this series and this book! It was fabulous. I was hooked right off the bat. I read it in one sitting! I did not want to put it down. There is plenty of danger, betrayal, secrets, fear, chemistry, desire and more! It will keep you on your toes and turning those pages to see what will happen next. January 30, 2023The chemistry these two had was off the chart's. It's funny that Scarlett sees Leo as a good guy as well as Wilder when neither could be further from the truth.
Poor Scarlett is the scapegoat that is being used to trick other crime families into believing that she is the one making all the shots as the head of the Russo family and Leo wants that power.

💕💓💕 Leo and Scarlett 💕💓💕 Great series, great book and great author! Scarlett is trying to stay safe, away from her family! Leo thinks she is trying to hurt his family!
