She’s royalty. He’s the wrong guy. But he’s the only one who can keep her safe. Get ready for a red-hot new romance from New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Cynthia Eden.

How do you protect a princess?

Step Do the job. Make her the priority.

Constantine Leos can’t believe his new assignment. He’s supposed to protect a princess. An actual, no BS royal princess. Sure, she spent her whole life in the US, and she’s only just discovered that she’s royalty, but, still…this isn’t his typical type of case. He’s used to bad guys who fight dirty and hard. He’s not prepared for…her. A gorgeous princess with dark eyes, lush lips, and a deceptive delicacy that makes him want to take on the world in order to protect her.

Step Stay close to the client. Intimately close.

Seemingly overnight, Juliet Laurent went from being a nobody to being the lost princess who now has her face splashed across social media. The new fame comes with danger because someone seems intent on making sure that Juliet never gets to wear her promised crown. She’s scared and desperate, and Juliet doesn’t know who to trust in this crazy royal life…

Enter the new bodyguard. Big, buff, and dangerous. A man who isn’t scared of anything. Just the man she needs. A man she desperately wants.

Constantine promises to protect her from every threat. His job is to stand between her and danger. With him, Juliet feels safe. And with him, Juliet also feels the stirring of a fierce desire that catches her by surprise. How can she want a stranger so much, so desperately? But when the threats continue and Constantine shields her again and again, her feelings for him just grow stronger. Forced into close proximity, the attraction rages past her control and his…

Step Protect the princess. Don’t fall for her.

Constantine knows a guy like him won’t ever get a happy ending, but he will do whatever it takes to make sure that Juliet stays safe. Because Juliet doesn’t need a Prince Charming. She needs a bodyguard who will eliminate every threat and who will destroy anyone who tries to hurt her. In other words, this princess needs the big, bad wolf. Luckily, Constantine has always excelled at being bad.

Ready for a fun, hot romance with a touch of danger? HOW TO PROTECT A PRINCESS has a guaranteed happy ending and no cliff-hangers.

An easy romance read, with some mystery and political intrigue.

Juliet was a newfound princess, however she was in danger because the king didn’t want her to have the crown.
The plot unfolded from the moment the young princess was discovered to the moment of the coronation.
Depth was inadequate, and any royal protocol was absent. Nobody was there to show/teach her how to be royal.

Constantine and Juliet were a nice couple and had great chemistry.
There were some characters from the author’s previous series that distracted my attention.

I had other expectations for this story... 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm sort of flabbergasted honestly. I enjoy this author's books and esp that I can turn my brain off and just go with the flow, usually with all the twists and turns she takes. Here though, this is insta-love, OTT, secret princess, soap opera level twists that I could not suspend my disbelief for, but I also couldn't put the book down either. The timeline was so short, but everything happening was so fast. This does read as a standalone in the Wilde security universe. The head of the security firm does make an appearance and it felt like maybe one of the side characters had a prior book, but I'm not sure about that. This couple and the focus of this book were new.

The h starts off as a bartender finishing a Master's degree in Louisiana but she's actually a secret lost princess and heir to a small European country's throne. She's been provided a bodyguard because her secret's out and the press are aggressively hounding her. Then it's just one thing after another with instant attraction with said bodyguard (the H) and meeting a shady representative of her grandfather's country while learning a sordid secret about her family. Then a fake engagement for her continued protection as she travels to her homeland only to end up in life or death situations and more family/political drama. Written in third person, mostly dual POV with only a couple POVs of side characters. No ow drama, om drama from h's ex (who she doesn't want to even talk to) and neither were virgins (minor info shared about each's history).

There was pushing and pulling, sometimes it felt like on the same page of the H wanting to keep boundaries between them because he's actually a very bad guy with a very scary past (no background of his younger years or his family that I recall, just adulthood), but actually he can't control himself. Also, for a guy who had supposedly buried his past, it felt like too many side characters knew the details. But he's protective, possessive, jealous, smoldering, and intense. The h was so sweet, empathetic, and kind so she did get her feelings hurt with the pushing and pulling. But she had moments of having her wits about her, although these were often tempered by her lack of concern about her own wellbeing in favor of worrying about the H. Her background was more clear thankfully. Danger abounds however, but there's still time for steaminess and a touch of sort-of breeding kink that more made me sigh than swoon since danger abounds!

Side characters also abound, good guys, gray guys, and bad guys. Sometimes it's not clear who's what, which is pretty par for the course for this author and something I enjoy. A couple of the side characters I wished were fleshed out more because they had some intriguing back stories, but were fairly shallow on page. One of the plot lines was also this way, it sounded like a more interesting element than what was developed. I was also pretty let down that there was no focus on what the h would do with a crown, no talks about royal etiquette or processes so the royal plot line is mostly about potentially being an heir vs. actually running the country. Some of the characters' reactions were also unrealistic. Strong emotion was shown in some scenes but then a character wouldn't be as affected for long in another, it was uneven.

The climax of the book was quite the action and drama sequence with some violence. Then the ending is more HEA than HFN, they've exchanged I love you's, they're devoted to each other, and both are safe, but questions about what their future looks like still hovered in the background for me. There is a link to an extended epilogue at the end of the story though so may provide that additional depth and crossing t's and dotting I's that I missed. The epilogue is a lead-in to the next book featuring the H's partner from this book and it appears to be a second chance. I don't think I'm going to continue this particular off-shoot of the Wilde Ways series, but this still kept me reading into the wee hours of the night to see what on earth was going to happen next.

This was soo freaking good! I loved the way it included titles you might find in a regular “How To” manual. The further into the story, the greater those titles became. I was just as anxious to get to the next one as I was to find out what was going to happen.

Constantine was awesome with his dark past and his instant attraction to Juliet. He was the perfect alpha hero riding in to save the princess. His protective mode was on overload and it was exactly what I look for in romance. I found myself thinking of him even when I was forced to set my kindle aside and get on with life.

The whole premise of this story captured my attention and kept me engaged from the first page. I couldn’t ask for better characters and storyline. Danger was around every corner and uncertainty regarding the villain kept me questioning every introduction to a new character. There were twists and turns I never saw coming and I loved every moment of it.

Bodyguard x Princess romance has become one of my favourite tropes recently. Add a huge dose of humour, mystery, suspense and killer— you get a fantastic romance.

Juliet was one of the sweetest heroine. I loved how different she and hero Constantine was. Con was so intriguing. Soft and protective towards Juliet but dangerous and a chameleon to the rest of the world.

In beginning of each chapter, Con’s steps to protect Juliet was so funny.

As usual I loved the banter between the Agents. They all are unique and so witty. Can’t wait to read Holden’s story. That last part with him was intriguing as hell. I can’t believe Eric Wilde was (kinda) playing matchmaking over there. The suspense was done very well and I couldn’t solve the mystery or guess the killer.

Recommended, safe.

I was disappointed in this story. The f-bombs started on page 1 and were prevalent throughout the entire story. The sex scenes were almost porn. If all that had been left out, the story could have been good. I didn’t know Author Eden wrote such graphic stories, or I wouldn’t have downloaded for free.

If you ever read the Princess Diaries when younger or indeed watched any of the movies then you will be familiar with the idea of a normal American woman suddenly finding out that she’s actually European royalty . This takes that idea but sexes it up with a fun, grown up version complete with villains and of course a hero to fight for her . Juliet might be the reluctant Princess but Constantine is most definitely the hero who will slay any dragons intent on hurting her !
Connected to the authors Wilde series we yet again get a fast paced, fun ride with an absolute stonker of a bossy male ! This is fun to read from the first page and the author clearly delights in giving her readers alpha males who are caring and oh so protective. These men rush headfirst into danger and Constantine is just typical of the Wilde guys. Juliet might not be a kick axx heroine but she’s certainly got back bone and poise when push comes to shove . An ending twist that I hadn’t seen coming added to my enjoyment but truthfully I simply read these books for the sheer escapism and sincerely look forward to the next book.
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Holy Lost Princess Batman!!

Juliet Laurent her life has been turned upside down. She just wants to be left alone. A man comes into her place of work and everything explodes.

I want you to walk out of my life. And I never want to see you again.” “Never?” he repeated. “What a loss that would be for you. I’ve been told that I can be quite charming.” Under the right circumstances.

Constantine Leos He’s trying to do good after a lifetime of being bad. Snarky alpha not afraid to do anything to protect Juliet.

“Good guys hesitate. They don’t like to get their hands dirty.”

“That’s why you need someone like me. I’m not scared of the dirt or the blood or any damn thing else.
A man with a shady past and a woman worth dying for.

You don’t get to scare her. You just made the worst mistake of your life.
Holden is Con’s partner and oh boy he’s a mess.

“This partnership seems to be flowing really well. I think we’re gelling.”

This story met every expectation I had and so much more.

“I want you at my side. Not because you’re my bodyguard, but because you’re my Constantine, and I need you with me.”

Having read the first book in the Wilde series am familiar with the detective agency of machismo men who protect at all cost and at times fall for their target. This is the Wilde series spinoff. In this story Constantine is hired to protect a princess. Unbeknown to Juliet Laurent the world has found out she is a princess. She has been living as normal regular lady in Baton Rouge waiting tables and going to college at night. Her world become shattered when she's pushed into the spotlight after its reveal who she really is and if that was not enough someone is trying to kill her. As with Cynthia's book we get some narration from the actual killer and what he is planning or has already done and this title is no different. Constantine job is to get Juliet back to her original homeland/kingdom before her grandfather the King dies so she can become princess without her getting killed along the way.

Over the top royal melodrama

Skimmed the last half of the book. There's insta-love, complicated by lots of conspiracies and threats against the heroine. While this is labeled book 1 of the series, it's a spin off to an earlier series and there are many references to characters and plot lines introduced in the previous series.

Better than I expected it to be. The cover is a bit cheesy, and Constantine was OTT at times, but I liked the story.

It was just so so cheesy.
Constantine's "I'm the bad guy" monologues were painful to read.
The insta-love was not believable because there just wasn't any initial chemistry.
I got whiplash from the "I won't touch her" to "I can't stop touching" to "i won't touch her" that happened within scenes.
And I found the head hopping jarring as well.

Just really not my cup of tea at all, unfortunately.

Cynthia Eden has spun off her Wilde Ways series into more hijinks with agents. This series starter introduces Constantine Leos as he finds Juliet Laurent to protect her. She has recently been outed as a lost princess and there are people after her.

Juliet was raised in the US without knowing her true identity. She has no idea why there is this need to protect her, and she wants to live her life just as she always has. Unfortunately for her, that doesn’t work so well.

Con is a man that lives with demons and shadows because of his background. He has an instant connection/attraction to Juliet but doesn’t want to act on it. However, fate that fickle thing does not quite allow that one to happen. They enter into a fake engagement to protect Juliet, but there is truly nothing fake about it. Cynthia Eden is one of my go-to authors, and she never disappoints.

How to Protect a Princess is the second book in Cynthia Eden’s Wilde Ways Gone Rogue series. It took me months to get to this book, and I did not read the series in order, starting with Holden’s book (second in the series), then moving on to book three. When this one became available on Kindle Unlimited, I decided to download and read it. Here are my thoughts:

I am a big fan of Cynthia Eden’s writing and have read most of her books. My favorite series of hers are Wilde Ways, Mine, and Trouble for Hire – Jinx, You’re It is my absolute favorite book by this author. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed the other ones.

I liked Constantine and Juliet’s characters well enough. Constantine was a great alpha character, and I liked his protectiveness and possessiveness over Juliet. What I did not like was the constant “I don’t deserve her” rhetoric because it is getting old now. With Juliet, the author could not decide whether she was a strong or weak FMC: On the one hand she was crying and clinging to Constantine when trouble found her, the next she was calm in the face of adversity. Another issue I had was with Juliet constantly throwing herself at Constantine despite his insistence that he was only doing his job and not looking for a relationship. Maybe I am naïve, but is that really what women do? Throw themselves at men who claim not to want a relationship with them? I suspect that some authors might see this behavior as the women being strong, determined, a go-getter … I honestly don’t know, but to me it comes across as not having self-respect or pride.

Some of the plot lines were flimsy and did not make much sense. Heaven knows, if my mother warned me to stay away from a country because it will not be good for my longevity if I go there, I will listen to her. The line about the fake fiancé or consort lacked logic as well, but I won’t go into detail on that one as I don’t won’t to give away spoilers. The twist at the end came as no surprise – I suspected early on that things would unfold in that manner. Also, some dialogue and action were over-dramatic; I rolled my eyes a few times.

Other than the above, the author delivered on the romance and suspense elements (as I have come to expect from Cynthia Eden). Give this book a try. Some things might irk you like it did me, but ultimately it is an enjoyable story.

Found this on Amazon and it not only sounded good but it fits a box on my reading challenge!

Here we have Constantine and Juliet. Juliet is the lost princess who wants to stay lost but with her grandfather, the king dying and her grandmother and mom gone....she is the only heir left. Enter Constantine who is assigned to protect her. Things get messy when someone is out to get Juliet. Things get even messier when Juliet and Constantine start falling for each other.

I'm lazy on my day off so I shall use my easy format ;)

The Good
- I liked that the lust was instant, but they didn't act upon it really quick. There is a lot going on and not a lot of time for doing the naughty stuff.
- I loved that Juliet didn't want the crown, but she is willing to go talk to the King. It is her Grandfather and she is willing to sacrifice herself for a kingdom she doesn't know. She will be a good Queen. She's got a backbone and she is smart
- Loved Holden. I'm crushing for sure
- The ending twist with a certain character was good. I applaud the twist. I hope we see more of that character. At first, I hated them....I grew to love them by the end.

The Bad and The Ugly
-As much as I wanted to like Con...I didn't. He seemed so 2D. I would've liked more development of his character. He was just too Alpha and too.....atypical for me.
-The elevator scene near the beginning was annoying to me. I don't want to give any spoilers but omg shut up Con.
-Ugh the bedroom scene with the King annoyed me too.

Overall
I am willing to read book 2 since it is about Holden and hopefully, we are done with Con. He annoyed me. There were a lot of little things that annoyed me BUT it didn't ruin the book for me. I enjoyed watching the story unfold and watching Juliet come into her own. Sure she is stuck with Con bc HEA....but she is going to do good things. 3 stars from me.

How exciting a new series by Cynthia Eden. I always love when she creates a new series. Happily, this one is part of her Wilde Ways world. Like all her stories she has a wonderful alpha hero. We've met Constantine in a prior book but here he finally gets his own story.

You won't be able to not enjoy him. He's one of those guys who is very serious. In fact, the humor in this book almost all came from his partner Holden. He cracked me up and we will have to wait for his story. But back to Constantine, he's a wonderful hero that I really enjoyed. He did all he could to protect Juliet.

He and Juliet just worked. From the beginning, you could tell they wanted each other. Sure there was the fact they wanted each other but there was more. They really liked each other. Even when Constantine was acting like he didn't care you could see it.

I felt so bad for Juliet. The loss of her mother and finding out she is a princess really messed up her world. I found myself cheering for her more than once while reading. She is the sweetest person most of the time. It's when she wasn't that she rocks.

As a story, this is a fun read that I really enjoyed. I found the story moved quickly and ended a bit shocking but satisfying. I look forward to more from this new series.

"How to Protect a Princess" by Cynthia Eden is an engaging and thrilling romantic suspense novel that combines elements of danger, suspense, and passion. With well-developed and tightly woven plot, this book takes readers on a captivating journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. The story revolves around Juliet who finds out she is an actual princess. Juliet is a strong-willed and independent woman who finds herself in grave danger. To ensure her safety, she is assigned a bodyguard, Constantine. As the two are thrust together, their initial chemistry is palpable.
One of the highlights of the book is the author's ability to keep readers guessing. The plot twists and revelations are unexpected and well-executed, adding an element of surprise and keeping the reader engaged until the very end. The author also does a commendable job of describing the settings, making it easy for readers to visualize the story's backdrop. It was a good balance of romance and suspense.
Overall I give it a solid 3.5 stars. The hero and heroine could have had a bit more character development. As a reader, I was left wondering a bit more about their background and how who they are contributed to the plot of the story. In conclusion, "How to Protect a Princess" is still a highly enjoyable and thrilling romantic suspense novel. Cynthia Eden's writing style, engaging characters, and well-crafted plot make for a captivating reading experience. Fans of romantic suspense will undoubtedly appreciate this book and the sizzling chemistry between Princess and her bodyguard.

...And we'll never be royals (royals)
It don't run in our blood
That kind of luxe just ain't for us...🎵

Constantine is an intense hero, and he is unstoppable to be fair, things I really love in life. While Juliet our heroine is just that... juliet, the support heroine and that's probably unfair but she was a tool to the story and Constantine carried the show.

I love cynthia books because you can always count with a good hero paired with a worthy heroine (here I missed this). Also because she is safe to read and I LOVE THAT!.

So about the story : Juliet is a new discovered princess and Constantine her bodyguard. Personally, as an european living in a country with -still- monarchy i avoid royalty books. Kings and queens and that shit is annoying in 2023... But the book did it for me. I liked the set, the side characters and the tension. I dislike on the other hand, how stupid the royal characters were. It didn't make sense at all. *cringy*

If i'd have a list with favorite heroes, he could be there.
I also could recommend to read this book if you want to spend an afternoon surrounded by action and hot chemistry without many more thoughts.

To resume: Is an Insta love, safe to read and no ow/om. Our hero and heroine know what they want. Also, a little miscommunication and pushing (barely) but there is no separation so yay!. Happy ending but they deserved and epilogue (farther).

Constantine, Constantine! Oh my goodness, he did not disappoint in How to Protect a Princess! And I’ll say it again, Cynthia Eden never ceases to amaze me with her plots and story lines. If you’ve been reading the Wilde Ways Series, then you’ve been introduced to many of these characters in previous books and if you’ve read my reviews, you know how much I enjoyed Remy and Constantine’s unusual and unique friendship. I was so thrilled to find that Remy made an appearance in this installment, but it was the unmistakable attraction between Con and Juliet from Page 1 that really got me. The twists and turns in this one had me catching my breath and wondering how in the heck Ms. Eden comes up with this stuff! Kings and castles, a Princess and an assassin, danger and suspense – it’s all in here. I love that each and every female lead is a strong, brave woman who won’t be taken down easily. And Constantine is right up there with all the other swoony, possessive (over the top possessive in this case!) romantic Wilde male leads. I loved this read so much and didn’t want it to end. It’s fast-paced, engaging and stunning as usual. Obviously, I’m quite anxious to find out what happens with Holden now even though I can’t imagine what Ms. Eden will come up with next! I'm grateful to have been given the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book for NetGalley.

bodyguard romance, fake dating, no dual POV, instalove

First thing that hit me about this book is that it's in third person which is kinda rare for romance, but I didn't hate it. There was a few times when we kinda got a perspective from someone else which was slightly confusing but it wasn't all that common and in the end didn't take away from the story.

We have Constantine which is a mouthful to say but rarely ever used the nickname "Con" which is whatever, just had to be a pain to type all the time as a writer. And Juliet who is a secret princess. She has been outed to the public and forced to return to her home country that she never knew about since her grandfather (and ruling king) is dying. The story is actually kinda predictable but was engaging. The smut was kinda PG-13, probably would not have gotten an R rating.

I will say we do have two bad guys who are unrelated but named Antoine and Alexander and for this one action section I had no clue who the eff was who and I had to go back and reread it. There's plenty of other letters to choose from! Quit using the same letters for supporting cast please and thank you!

Anyways, minus the fact that there's like two glossed over sex scenes, would not be surprised if this was a lifetime/hallmark movie. I enjoyed it tho!

How to Protect a Princess is an exciting romantic suspense that highlights the romance between a strong, brawny, foul-mouthed hero and a naïve, ordinary woman who has just found out that she is a lost princess

Constantine is hired to be bodyguard for Juliet, "a nobody" who has just learned that her dead grandmother and mother were royalty. Now that her father is on his deathbed, he finally wants to meet her. Therefore, he hires Constantine to deliver Juliet safely to meet him.

Meanwhile, Constantine and Juliet fall passionately in love with each other. Their chemistry is so palpable that the readers can actually feel the steam. Eventually, this chemistry is so strong that they find it impossible to stay away from each other. Readers will sigh with delight as they read the couple’s passionate love scenes.

Unfortunately, before they leave the US, Juliet encounters several dangerous situations that are obviously meant to kill her. She skillfully excels in creating an exciting complex plot where Constantine is the only thing that stands between Juliet’s life and death.

This book contains so many confusing twists and turns that the readers will love trying to figure out which of the many possible suspects is actively pursuing Juliet.

His new assignment is to protect a princess but Constantine Leos is no ones Prince Charming. He's used to bad guys, and considers himself to be one as well, so he will eliminate every threat and destroy anyone who tries to hurt her. He just can't figure out how Juliet has managed to rule his heart.

Juliet has managed to hide her true identity for her entire life until one frightening night changed everything. Now she has a bodyguard that won't leave her side, aggressive  paparazzi trailing her every move, and crazed strangers bent on killing her. When the ailing grandfather she never met summons her to the small country of Lancaden she is determined to find out the truth to the stories that have plagued her for years. But she can't do it without the bodyguard she's grown very fond of, especially when the frightening counsellor of Lancaden keeps trying to separate them.

It will take acting skills on the part of both Juliet and Constantine to convince the people of Lancaden they are betrothed because it's the only way to protect her life. And even that may not be enough.

I received a review copy and freely offer this review.

What a great book.
Juliet is a psychology student at the University in Baton Rouge Louisiana and is quite content with her life and her job as a bartender in a local water hole. That is until ,one day, on her death bed, exactly six months ago, her mother tells her that, what she thought all her life is false and that she is the only living heir to a reigning king of a European Country.

She makes a point not to tell anyone and is utterly flabbergasted when, one night, at work, a tall dark and not so bad on the eyes young man introduces himself as Constantine, states that he is her bodyguard and, worst of all refers to her as Princess.

This is the type of book that is written by an author who has the gift that enables her to take the reader, from the very start, on a virtual adventure filled with action, love, deceit, lies, intrigue, and a plot that is so well written, that the reader is hooked from the very beginning and finds it hard to put this 5 Stars rated book that I highly recommend, down.

Constantine Leo’s
Juliet Laurent

Constantine is a bodyguard working for Wilde Security who has been assigned to protect Juliet, who just found out she is a Princess 6 months before. When he confronts her at the bar where she is working she sends him away only to find out later she really does need his protection. Constantine is a bodyguard with a hard past from his previous jobs and family. He’s tough and is called in on the jobs others may not do. Juliet has been studying Psychology and working at the bar. Constantine and Juliet have immediate chemistry. This is a very good book. Fast paced as Constantine works to protect Juliet. Secondary character Holden, who the next book is about, is a good partner for Constantine. I would definitely read more books by this author and this series.

I always seem to enjoy these Wilde books. They’re easy and fun and predictable, but I still really enjoy them.

And while Juliet and Constantine didn’t have the most explosive relationship, they were super cute together. And I liked seeing a slightly awkward Constantine. He seemed to trip over himself a bit more when he would talk to her.

And the ending was surprising. Usually I can figure stuff out but I’ll admit, this one through me off course a bit.

And Remy! 💖💖 God I forgot how much I like him. I was so glad when he showed up. And Constantine constantly reminding him not to steal priceless art from Juliet’s castle was even better. 🤣🤣🤣

This was a solid three stars for me. Enjoyable, but not stellar. But definitely not bad either. A good installment to a series.

Loved this book!

Another amazing book from Cynthia Eden. This book has it all…romance, action packed scenes, great mystery, twists in the plot & funny banter and camaraderie.
I really liked watching Constantine and Juliet’s relationship grow. They have hot chemistry and sweet moments that brings out the feels. He is such a bad ass agent who is super confident and a great fighter. He makes her feel so safe around him.
The plot is very interesting of a newly discovered princess. We’re trying to figure out who’s after Juliet and what’s going on with the people and her grandfather (the ailing king) back in the royal country.
I highly recommend this book and can see me reading this again. I’m looking forward to Holden’s story in the next book in this series.

nice book. loved constantine but literally this princess has got to toughen up to rule a country

don't have much more to say actually. it was nice and i liked the royalty aspect.

i had some character problems and seriously Ty is really someone i can't predict because (remy i agree with you)

i also think i expected a lot more from constantine's book. i think he might've been too distracted here *ahem*

but still, i really do enjoy cynthia eden's writing and plot twists.

Perfect

I really don't know how Cynthia Eden manages to take tired tropes and make them in to fun books. This is no exception.

Constantine and Juliet are red hot. Their insta love is somehow believable and sweet. Juliet is lovely, Constantine is driven and haunted. The supporting characters are amazing. What more can you want?

Standalone. 3rd person dual pov. Mild violence. Steamy.

Juliet Laurent grew up as a regular girl in Baton Rouge. But right before her mother passed away, she found out she was a princess. But Juliet has no interest in being royalty. Then a bodyguard shows up as well as the press, and her life is changed forever. Constantine Leo has been hired to protect her and bring her to grandfather who is dying. There the palace intrigue starts and figuring out who is good and who isn't was impossible. I was surprised by the ending.

A little less than what I've come to expect from Cynthia Eden -- BUT yes, still fun-to-read with a fairytale-esque feeling to the storyline. Both main characters were very likable and a perfect match. The plotting includes royalty/political issues and an evil leader or two or more that will certainly keep a reader guessing.

After reading this first book in the "Wilde Ways: Gone Rogue Series", I'm intrigued enough to see what kind of trouble Holden will face in the next book.
