I’m just an ordinary guy… who feeds on sexual energy.

I never knew my dad. Mom said he was a nice enough guy, fun for a night, but she never did get his name. I didn’t miss him, and my life is good.

Then a government agent shows up at my door and announces that I’m not really human. Dear old Dad was actually an incubus, a being that needs sexual energy to survive, and apparently that means I am too. Gotta be a scam, right?

Or so I think… until Agent Cutie changes into a canine (not a werewolf) in my living room and then eats half a dozen Christmas cookies while making orgasm sounds. Turns out, other species do exist.

On the plus side, being a stripper means that all my incubus needs are being met without me even trying. And now that I know the situation in my pants is normal for an incubus, I don’t feel self-conscious… so a fling with Agent Mark is definitely on the table.

Between being sexy Santa at work, supplying a team of hellhounds with Christmas cookies, and learning what stamina in the bedroom really is, I’m discovering that my old life was kind of empty. Maybe I’m not such an ordinary guy after all.

LOUISA MASTERS started reading romance much earlier than her mother thought she should. While other teenagers were sneaking out of the house, Louisa was sneaking romance novels in and working out how to read them without being discovered. She’s spent most of her life feeling sorry for people who don’t read, convinced that books are the solution to every problem. As an adult, she feeds her addiction in every spare second, only occasionally tearing herself away to do things like answer the phone and pay bills. She spent years trying to build a “sensible” career, working in bookstores, recruitment, resource management, administration, and as a travel agent, before finally conceding defeat and devoting herself to the world of romance novels. Louisa has a long list of places first discovered in books that she wants to visit, and every so often she overcomes her loathing of jet lag and takes a trip that charges her imagination. She lives in Melbourne, Australia, where she whines about the weather for most of the year while secretly admitting she’ll probably never move.

Nice one.

He gives a little wriggle of anticipation that makes muscles flex attractively. I can’t resist; just as I slide the first finger in, I bend and bite his ass.
“Hey!” It comes out with a note of laughter. “Nobody told me hellhounds ate their sexual partners.”
“Oh, I’m going to eat you,” I promise, adding another finger. Incubi rarely need much prep, and Neil’s definitely in that category. “As soon as I’m done with your ass, I’m going to swallow you down. And when you’re drained of every drop, we’ll start all over again.”
😳

Mark: Your cookies are the best I’ve ever tasted. No professional baker could compare.
Neil: *blushing* That’s so sweet.
Mark: Not trying to flatter you here. The only thing better than your cookies is you.

Steamy and sweet!

A nice treat between book one and two from the series "Hidden Species", a easy story, flowed smoothly , just a good relaxing time, it was so cute to see the interaction between the main characters and at the same time so hot, with a little bit of vulnerability, the material was so interesting I wish this story could be bigger, I was really pleased anyway, congratulations to Louisa Masters!!!

On the Audible side, the narrator was superb, great acting, totally committed, high praises to Joel Leslie!!!

I liked both art covers versions, from Winterheart Design and Booksmith Designs BookSmith Design, I think is my favourite maybe because it connected with the other books, there's another version but I didn't had access so a don't know who made that design, I think is equally good!

Audiobook Review

Having read and loved the ebook version, I wasn't expecting to love it even more, but Joel Leslie just has a way of making the story better.

So in here we have Mark the hellhound and Neil the unknowingly incubus. It's an instalove and man do I love them both. I really do want more hellhound stories

_______________________________

This short story was a freebie from the newsletter but its about to be released on Amazon. I highly recommend this one if you love the series, which I do.

In here we have Neil, who did not know he was an incubus. He was making the street he lived on feel warm and happy and did not even know it. He is a stripper who fed on the energy of those who watched him dance. He also did not have sex, which is apparently weird for an incubus.

Mark is a hellhound who worked for the group Sam (from the first book in the series) originally started in. They still miss him and his cookies.

These two meet when Mark had to explain to Neil what he was. It was basically an instalove situation, which I loved.

“Uh, this all seems really surreal. Is there anything you can show me to prove what you’re saying?”

His calm smile turns just a tiny bit wicked. “I say this with as much professionalism as I can muster: you can find proof in your pants.”

I blush wildly. “Excuse me?”

“Incubus penis shape is different from human,” he replies matter-of-factly, as though he’s not talking about my dick. “Your penis has two segments, somewhat like the body of a wasp.”

“I swear, I haven’t been peeking in windows. If you like, I can show you—”

“Oh hell no!” I shout, leaping to my feet and sloshing coffee on my rug. “You are not taking off your pants in my living room, you perverted creep! I knew this was some kind of sex cult! I will not be a pawn for your orgies!”

And there was cookie sex, how can one resist that??

“You had cookie sex? And you didn’t invite us?”

Everyone freezes. Then, as one, we turn to look at Cody.

“What?” he asks defensively.

I rub the bridge of my nose. “Cody, I haven’t had group sex in about twenty years, and I’ve never had sex with someone on this team. Why would I suddenly invite my colleagues to join me in the bedroom?”

I would do anything to have a series based on these other ones from the agency. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved the hidden species and the dragons, but the hellhounds are awesome. Would love to have some demon love as well.

Fab short festive visit to the Hidden Species world

This was a lot of fun, I'm pretty sure I've read it when it available in Louisa's, it's definitely worth a re-read.

Lots of fun with an incubus who doesn't know he is one and a hellhound who's sent to tell him all about the Community of Species.

Short, sweet, straightforward and not as chaotic as expected with the hellhounds. I liked how accepting Neil was, and how quickly he took what he wanted. The cookie interrogation was entertaining. Nice little charistmas extra.

This was adorable. I loved how sweet Neil was and Mark knew he was disrupting the man's life with the information that no matter what he may have thought, hey you're not really human. Mark was patient and sweet, he gave Neil the time he needed to adjust to his new reality before being the hellhound he is and pouncing on the plaything he wanted. :) Cute, sweet, and a fun little side addition to this series.

Cute Christmas story where Mark's tasked with introducing a clueless Incubus to the community.
Charming and totally unconnected to the overarching storyline of the main books in the series. In fact the only thing that suffers in this story are several plates of Christmas cookies.

Hellhound meets Incubus. sexy times ensue.

A very cute Chistmastime short story from the Hidden Species series. I somehow missed it when I read the series, so I had to backtrack a bit to remember where this fit in. Oddly, I don’t recall either MC in any of the other books, but because I read this one out of order, they may have been mentioned, but the names just didn’t register with me.

a short entertaining holiday story

Rating: 4🌈🌲

Naughty Neil is a short entertaining holiday story that takes place in Masters’ Hidden Species universe.

Neil is a young guy working as an exotic dancer, happy with his life until a guy knocks on his door, claiming to be some kind of government agent, only from a agency he’s never heard of.

Mark Mikakos, Hellhound and CBG investigator ( Community of Species Government ) has come to tell Neil Diaz that he’s a incubus, that there’s a whole hidden world of supernatural beings the he’s a part of , and Mark’s life is about to change forever.

No problem.

What follows is a short, cute story that allows us to see the very start of a relationship and new romance. We meet Mark’s team of investigators and see Neil start to fit into his new world.

It’s over way too soon.

I wish we could have a follow up story to see what happens next. They are a genuinely lovely and fun couple.

Not sure where my reading process is going now...I'm just along for the ride. Here is Louisa Master's "Naughty Neil." It's a novella in her Hidden Species series.

This novella was cute!! It was a perfect little meet-cute mixed with Christmas joy and cookies galore. Plus some Christmas confusion and office drama and overgrown puppies being frat boys. And these two were just so freaking smitten with each other!

Heather's Notes
This was not a bad story, but it did not add anything to the storyline. I am also not even sure who the main character was from the main storyline. I am not sure he is in it. Still it was a nice feel good holiday story.

I am not sure how I feel about this one. It’s cute and funny. It’s not very sexy, which is surprising for a romance between an incubus and a hellhound. It feels like an intro to the world of the series, but it’s listed as second book so that doesn’t make a lot of sense. But if it’s not an introduction, why did so much of the story take place with the characters separately? I enjoy hookup to love stories, it’s one of my favorite tropes but this never took us past the hookup, not emotionally. They jump into bed enthusiastically but with little detail. Why did the author think we would rather have more detail about Mark at work than the couple in bed? Then we are told the couple had tons of great sex over the next few days, with a few naughty but teasing details, and that they decide they want to take the relationship further. Since it’s a novella, I think it’s fine to end with a happy-for-now, but I want to see some kind emotion behind the decision. Even if the emotion is mostly lust, you have to help me see it. I don’t regret this cute little holiday read, but I am not sure I want to read more by the author.

Story: ⭐️⭐️
Narrator: -⭐️

I love stories like this that are… let’s call them unique. This one was certainly unique. Neil is an exotic dancer who is very surprised to learn he is also an incubus. A government agent comes to help him deal with that realization. They’re both hot. Things turn interesting. Sort of.

The story isn’t that bad. It isn’t good, but it isn’t that bad. However, if you choose to give it a chance, read the book. Leave the audiobook alone. Trust me.

If you’ve read any of my other reviews of audiobooks, you know how much a bad narrator or bad vocal choices can ruin an audiobook for me. Honestly, I don’t think the narrator is bad, but he certainly made choices that ruined it for me.

Seriously. Book > audiobook for this one. I might have given it 3 stars if it had been different.

I love the Hidden species series, and this was a funny and quirky addition to the universe.
Joel Leslie is excellent, as usual.

Having read the entire series and the follow up, Here be Dragons series, I enjoyed this a lot.

It is a short story (about 1,5 hours listen time), and it is written well for its format. It doesn't try to be more than it is, and avoids the insta-love trope. Insta-like I can get behind :)

As most Louisa Masters books, it has some steamy sex scenes and a lot of innuendo, but also kindness, friendship and humour.

Hellhounds in this setting sound truly exhausting, but so much fun, to be around :)

This is just a quick, fun, cute, and steamy snack. We have Mark, the hellhound, and Neil, the unknowing incubus. I liked that we got to see a little of the process that was talked about in Demons Do It Better. Neil is probably the sweetest incubus you will ever meet. He's a friendly and welcoming neighbor and bakes Christmas cookies like it's his job. Mark loves that and makes the rest of his hellhound team jealous. Neil learns more about himself and how to safely exist in his nature. Mark and Neil are quite cute together, and steamy af. For a nice little Christmasy bite, this is perfect.

Neil and Mark
PLEASE be aware that this summary/review is meant for my own purposes in order to help me recall this book and definitely has spoilers. It is in no way a reflection of what I think anyone else will like or want out of a book. It is simply a memory aid and a rough voice-to-text which is completely unedited/reviewed for errors. Read at your own discretion.

Little novella about Neil who finds out he is an incubus at 20-something. His initial case officer is Mark, a hellhound on Sam's old team. Cure story about Neil learning about who he is and eventually hooking up with fun and sweet Mark. There isn't much to this story, but it was a cute quick read.

Santa Comes Packing and with a Full Sack

This was a really fun intro to the Hidden Species series, which I haven't read before.
Mark is a Hellhound responding to an urgent call to visit Neill who doesn't know he's an incubus.
It's Christmas and Neill world as a pole dancer in a sexy Santa outfit when Mark finds him and Mark is basically an exuberant puppy and his team is too.
Great fun

So great to be in sam ex team full of hellhounds. They are always entertaining. This one is Mark, he need to investigate about Neil. Neil is an incubus but doesn't know it yet. Then he decide that he want to have Mark like Friend with benefit.. only maybe a lot of friend and hyperenergic intensive hellhoundsnis what is missing. A little bit of chaos. And a whole lot of cookies.
